We had a couple shingles blow off the roof due to recent rain, wind storms. To try to get a roofer to come out for a tiny repair like this appeared impossible. By some dumb luck while on a call with a vendor the company I work for does business with, his name was brought up during getting to know you type conversation with the gentleman on the other end in another state. " Hey one of my closest friends lives in the Raleigh area and if you ever need a roofer etc. etc. wow lol. Within 15 min I received a call from Taylor. Taylor was such a nice person on the phone before he came out to our house. He told me to take some pics of the shingles when I got home, shortly after sending them to him, he called me, gave me a nice extremely reasonable quote and asked me what dates I would be available next few weeks I kidded around after and said to my wife, watch we'll end up needing a new roof lol'' based on hearing stories about roofers etc. This couldn't have been furthest from the truth with Taylor. He showed up right on time for the quoted appraisal day and time. That in itself was very impressive. He had texted me night before to remind me and also gave me updates in am that he was on the way. What I can say from the moment we met Taylor we knew before he even started we were fortunate to find Taylor. Taylor has an extensive professional background thus the job was quick and easy for him and he showed us what he did with pics, and even inspected the entire roof, attic area and let us know the roof looks fantastic, has prob 20 years left on it and everything looked great. Taylor is a true gentleman, very nice guy who understand the importance of honesty, and takes pride in his work. He was as genuine as they come from first point of contact. Taylor does not look at his customers as just another job, but he is also interested in getting to know them on a personal level. Highlands Roofing provided us compelling customer service. While the service, and overall experience can't be beat, it's the manner in which Taylor makes you feel so comfortable that in my opinion makes it the destination of choice for the premier roofing company in the Raleigh metro area. Quality product, excellent customer service, professional workmanship provided by an amazingly quick, super clean roofing team(extra BONUS, no roof fragments or nails laying around) Wednesday evening my quest started, first searching through Better Business Bureau ratings, then comparing consumer reviews. I then emailed several roofing companies for a complimentary inspection. Thursday morning Matt Dempsey, with Reno Simplicity Roofing, reached out to me. He promptly scheduled a roof inspection for that upcoming Saturday. Upon inspection he found wind damage, he was confident that our Home Owners Insurance would agree regarding damage. He was happy to deal directly with our Insurance company, no easy task during this pandemic era. As promised Matt followed through, the next thing I knew We had our brand new Certainteed roof Installed!! All of this and we only paid insurance deductible!! Matt made this whole process quick and easy (no small task in middle of a pandemic). After our new roof was installed we had additional(unforseen) work done on our home, it involved a patch on our brand new roof. I contacted Matt, he explained we had received one of the last lots of roofing materials from Certainteed, the production of materials had been almost completely halted due to Covid Pandemic. However Matt promised he would search around for supplies.....what a relief when he called with good news, he was able to find the additional materials we needed! This was like the icing on the cake! After completion of additional work I asked how much we owed for labor and materials, I was stunned when he said it was covered under our Deductible! Reno Simplicity is definitely tops on our list of quality roofers!! They definitely went above and beyond our expectations!!!! Although the manufacturer had sent the wrong item, Artisan immediately took full responsibility and asked me how they could make this right. They offered to redo my roof with the right color, however we settled on a discount from the work done. I feel their entire communication and work with me to resolve this was 100% excellent. As a matter of fact, I am so confident in their company I have scheduled them to also install new gutters (using the discount from the roof!) Their price and initial bid was LESS THAN an individual who had also been recommended by a neighbor whom I would have expected to be less than this professional company. They sent me a detailed, itemized list of exactly what they would do and exactly what I needed to do to prepare. From start to finish, this was a great experience, in spite of the hiccup. I live 2500 miles away and I mistakenly…read moretrusted Rodas Construction to complete a major renovation project at a house I purchased in Durham. This company is very small and does not have the capacity, talent, experience, expertise, and bandwidth to handle projects larger than one bathroom remodel. I do believe and hope they can handle very small projects but nothing more. They certainly failed us miserably. Because of their size & staffing, Rodas Constriction LLC lack basic structure, organization, communication, discipline, order and quality. Forget about customer service. For example, I visited my house four times during the renovation process. I found windows fully "open", doors unlocked and the air conditioning or heaters on without anyone present. This led to leaks and moisture penetrating various parts of the house afterward. I communicated these issues to Rodas ownership every time without a favorable result. Nothing changed. In fact, Rodas ownership did not accept responsibility and continued their work. Although small, Rodas ownership is "unusually" arrogant and will never admit to wrongdoings, will never accept accountability and will never own they are being negligent. On top of the mismanagement, negligence, and disorganization, the most important problem was that Didier Enrique Rodas and his company, Rodas Construction LLC, failed to apply for and secure construction permits for the structural work as well as permits for plumbing, electrical and other work they had performed. They didn't get the permits to save money and to avoid to doing their work legally, appropriately, and effectively. This act of non-compliance is against all rules and regulations. And...once you pay Rodas Construction LLC in full, they will forever ignore and avoid your issues and requests. They certainly did for us. We still have several exposed drywall openings they had created and don't want to fix. Rodas Construction LLC is very small company with only a handful of employees. But with their VERY small size, they do have a Director of Marketing who amongst other soliciting activities, he manages social media work. Strange...right? For example, this marketing director will soon respond to this post with an elaborate list of excuses for having failed a client who had paid them in FULL. He is the person who responds to all of my complaints to Didier Enrique Rodas. This company will never accept accountability for its faults, wrongdoings and they will NEVER fix issues they had caused. I can write many pages on the issues I had faced with Rodas Construction LLC. Aforementioned remarks are high level insights so consumers are aware. BE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS! I do take responsibility for trusting and selecting Rodas Construction LLC. I should have known better. I was desperate. But do your research, check multiple references and do NOT pay anyone especially the people until you are 100% certain about the quality of the work.

I called Roofwerks several months ago for two things:…read more [#1] I had a specific leak in my roof that turned out to be coming in through a broken spot under an attic window. [#2] I wanted to get a quote for re-painting my metal roof with a sealant. I paid that invoice, and called again several weeks ago for two more things: [#3] We had a leak in a corner under our roofline where two gutterlines meet. The insurance appraiser suspected it was due to a gap under the roofline that rain was blowing through during hard wind. I was hoping they would install some sort of flashing or protection over that gap, which would probably require gutter removal to reach. [#2 again] Since I hadn't received an estimate after the first job, I followed up about that. The people who came out (5/25/2022) did not fix the gap under the gutter corner, though I don't know why: it has since been fixed by another provider. Instead, they applied a single stripe of sealant down a roof line where there was no evidence of leakage. They also said they would provide an estimate for tightening screws and re-painting the roof for maintenance. This already felt like redundant work, since that's what they had supposedly done the first time, so I really didn't expect the expensive invoice that followed: $840+tax. I responded asking for clarification of the charges. (They quoted $168 per hour, and two men were there for 1.5 hours. That puts the paint used at $336.) I didn't hear back, so I follow up two days later, to which I received a reply that she was working on it. Two more weeks later, I followed up again, and was promised a prompt response. On Tuesday June 21, I got an email that the invoice had been dropped to $625+tax... still a flat price with no breakdown of hours and materials. Again, I asked for clarification of the costs, but at this point also decided to write this complaint. I ALSO PAID THE INVOICE. (I clarify this because I'm not doing this to justify stiffing them. I can afford $678, but I can't afford to spend any more time or patience waiting for an explanation or follow-through. My time is better spent making a BBB complaint and sharing my experience here.) So, to summarize: - They charged for duplicate work, since they were supposed to have provided an estimate after coming to address the first leak but never did. - They painted a single stripe down the seam of those roof lines and then tried to charge $336 (later $121) for the paint. - There was no evidence of leakage there. The actual leak was later repaired by another provider in the original spot that I pointed out but that they didn't repair. - It took two of their people 1.5 hours to look around the roof of a 1020sqft house (again, for what, I don't know, since they had already been out to estimate this before) and paint a white stripe that didn't need to be painted. - They still haven't provided an estimate that I think I've paid for twice now.
