I remember walking to this Raley's with my grandpa every other day during summer break from Elementary school. The changes were numerous throughout the 25+ years that I can thoroughly recall, but this more recent remodel is the best yet. Yes, the grocery store across town is a little cheaper, but the upgrade on variety and quality is all here. Raley's has turned into somewhat a high end shop, with deals still available to not break your wallet. The employees, some familiar from 20+ years ago, are friendly and very helpful. The deli/hot food area is superb. Superb?! Thought I'd ever use the word, but this grocery store's selection satisfies a plethora of diverse palates. Plethora?! Anyways, my favorite feature is the Beer selection. Not typical of a grocery chain, but they carry a variety of local and high demand craft brews. Sculpin, Firestone, Anderson Valley, Lagunitas, Sonoma, etc. I reserve the last, the 5th star if they would ever carry Russian River, but that's not likely. Go...enjoy...and extend your vocabulary. read more

*sigh* Okay. We've been shopping at Raley's for a bunch of years...at least 20 for my husband and over 10 myself. It used to be that they had unique selection of higher end or hard to find items. Not so for at least the past 5 years. It's the same stuff you can get pretty much anywhere but they charge a higher "premium" to make you feel like it's upscale. HAH. no. They also used to be the only place we'd buy meat and produce. Now? Notsomuch. While their meat & fish counter is still stocked fairly decent (with fresh frozen? things), their produce section is absolutely the pits. I have gotten soooo many rotten vegetables and fruits from there in the past 2 years that I don't even really bother buying anything anymore from their produce unless it's on a super sale or if I am in a pinch and can't go somewhere else. The workers are top notch though. I actually worked at this location previously. It was a great place to work and I still have friends who work there (and honestly I sort of miss it sometimes.) They "cleaned up" the terrible management team that was there when I left, which helped a lot. They also used to do some pretty great displays. Now they're sort of bland, while still neat and tidy...they lack pizazz to make it more appealing. The pharmacy is the absolute slowest place I've ever encountered. Ever. The clerks are friendly enough but man is everything slow back there. They are never in a hurry to do anything...ever. Aaaaaand, I've been in some of the other Raleys Stores...Napa, Sacramento, Tahoe...and their stores are neat and tidy and updated to make it seem, again, like you're in a higher end grocery. This one? Is like Raleys Stores step-cousin-in-law. Looks dirty, not because it is necessarily, but because everything is so old and outdated. The restrooms are an absolute horror. Just say no. Hold it. Seriously. Believe me. I'll still shop here when I need to, but with other grocers offering the same things at lower prices and comparable service, I don't think they're going to win but a small portion of our business. read more

I am extremely disappointed in this store. I used to be a great grocery store; however, since they remodeled they don't carry very many of the products I previously purchased. I agree with a previous reviewer - it is like and Easter Egg hunt every time I go shopping. They need to stop rearranging the shelves and refrigerators. Also, the prices are high and the produce is not very good. I use the eCart feature a lot because I do not get around too well anymore. The vegetables and fruit I have ordered are soft, spoiled, or of other low quality. I ordered some Sushi and the fish was completely dried out and the rice was inedible. I also ordered fresh flowers that did not even last a day (at $15.00 for barely 1/2 dozen flowers). For the price I expect high quality products. I will probably to back to Safeway delivery - at least there I pay less, but I know what to expect. read more

Raleys is conveniently located within a plaza with plenty of parking. It recently underwent major remodeling and the store presentation looks so much better! It was difficult locating items before as many things were very disorganized. The lay out of the store makes it very spacious and the lanes are much wider for two carts to be able to navigate side by side. I would say that this place is equivalent to Whole Foods in terms of pricing. Definitely more expensive than your average Safeway prices. What is great about Raleys is they have 4 self check out areas so you don't need to wait in line if you need to go in and just grab something very quickly. read more

Okay, so I was really impressed during my last visit here. Many may agree with me that Raley's has always been the high-end grocery store in town. Until about 15 years ago, I was at Raley's once, twice and sometimes even three times per week. I was renting videos, buying Lottery tickets and of course to buy grocery & household items. It was definitely my neighborhood supermarket. Unfortunately, I now live thousands of miles from Raley's! Thankfully enough, I still have family in town, so I make a couple stops in each time I am in town. During my last visit, I could hardly believe my eyes! Everything was so different; an upgrade for sure. Look out Whole Foods because Raley's is coming in for the steal! I loved everything about it! I especially loved that they have expanded the social environment for it. Yes, there is a larger area for you to socialize in now! In fact, bring your whole family for some coffee, donuts and merriment! The store is beautifully organized and they have definitely created that high-end feel and taken it to a different level. It's all about the customer experience here and making sure the consumer's needs are met! Even though everything I remember from childhood has changed, I still love it. If you are not open to change and are the type of person where everything has to remain stagnant in your life, then you won't enjoy this place; too bad for you! Ever since we moved to Benicia 9 years ago, Raley's has become our home grocery store for all our needs big or small. The recently newly remodeled Raley's is appealing, attractive, and carries a diverse collection of groceries. It took me awhile to get accustomed to the repurposed and spacious aisles, and the new strategic locations of my grocery staples. However, I am liking the variety and availability of items I do not see at other major supermarkets. Raley's carries basic brands as well as high-end gourmet products. Furthermore, since signing up for the Raley's Rewards card, my family has received mail coupons and savings on items we actually buy on a regular basis. Not useless coupons for items we never buy from other stores. I love the $ savings check coupon always included with our mailers. In spite of the Raley's remodel and renovation, and sometimes not being able to find items where one thinks it should be, the Raley's grocery clerks and baggers have always been helpful, courteous and polite. I will keep returning to Raley's rain or shine. read more

Although I am a Safeway Card holder, after looking at the week's advertisement for Raley's I decided to head over yesterday evening to do some major grocery shopping for my new place because I had a lot of empty space needed to be filled at my new place. I loved the selections at Raley's however they eat up a lot of my time because I had a lot of "this one or this one" moments. That's always a good thing because living on a small budget I have to decide on principal and not having the "best item". Their prices are definitely decent andI saved a bit with my coupons, I felt like I should of valued my dollars a little bit more. And their deals are amazing. Like this week, I got two Jimmy Dean skillets and I got a free dozen eggs. Although, that isn't enough eggs for me or the skillets (LOL) its still a pretty good deal. And I walked out with three bags filled for almost $130. Good but I know I can get more once I get this whole frugal and coupon 'ish down. read more

I love this place because they have an almond butter grinder station. Fresh, grinded roasted almond butter for $10.99/lb. It beats driving all the way to Wholefoods in Napa or Walnut Creek. Their tea selection is also divine and full of different varieties compared to other groceries. I purchased the best blueberries I have ever had at this Raley's. read more

All reviews are correct to a point... I agree that it's not all ways as fresh as it could be....but it's about the service for me! They have always been kind to me, one of the cashier I kept going to ( not intentionally ) he remembered me each time and even remembered what I had shared with him. Which is remarkable!!! Don't use their grocery delivery. I have ordered twice and both times were overcharged. The first time I ordered, i modified my order and instead of sending one order they sent me my first order and my modified one so I received a lot of duplicate items. I tried to contact the general Customer Service number and they referred me to contact the store directly. I could not get a hold of anyone. I gave them another chance a few months later and this time was overcharged for items, I also did not receive one of the substituted items I was contacted about. 2 of my items were $5 Monday items and I was charged regular price. I did get in contact with someone that time and they told me I would receive a credit to my next order. I could not get my money back unless I go to the store directly. Isn't that the whole reason of delivery because we can't make it to the store. So supposedly now I have a credit in my account. I attempt to use the service for the last time to use my credit and after checking out, there was not any credit showing in my account. I cancelled the order completely. Don't do delivery service, they will take your money! read more

I recently moved to Glen Cove and have been driving to the Walnut Creek and other Whole Foods to shop. I tried the local Safeway, and as expected..it's only good for dried goods. Luckily, I read the Yelp reviews this morning for Raley's and decided to see if maybe this could be a closer option for shopping for organic foods. While the options are more limited than shopping at Whole Foods, I was able to find everything I needed. They have a couple of grass fed beef brands, one air chilled organic free range chicken option, and a fairly good selection of organic fruits and veggies. The store is open, clean, uncrowded (at least this morning), and the staff friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back. If they increase their clean food choices, this will become my store of choice! P.S. I bought both a Rocky Organic Free Range Chicken and Raley's Organic Chicken. It was clear that the Raley's brand was pumped full of water. I had hoped for a crispy finish, but so much liquid came out of the chicken that it was clear that it had been pumped up..I'm not buying that again! read more

So I came in first in early this morning to have a cake made for my daughters second birthday and a balloon bouquet. When I first arrived I was told that it would take 24 hours for the cake, I was in told I can go talk to be "cake lady". Her name is Deidre, what an amazing woman. She told me she could have the cake done by the time I needed it today, and took the time to make sure I got what I needed. Also Mary O in the floral department made an amazing bouquet of balloons for my daughter, it was bright and early when I came in and these people were not rude and they serviced me as if it was their child that they were preparing the gifts for. I have heard that this Raley's in Benica doesn't give their employees their 2 15 minutes breaks. It's required by LAW that employees get three breaks, two 10/15 minutes breaks and a 30 minutes/1 hr for lunch. It's a violation and needs to be noted and investigated. read more

Raley's Raley's, how I love thee. First of all, nice, open, clean. Staff is AWESOME - SO AWESOME, everyone smiles, greets and asks you if you need help constantly. Great shopping experience. Quality is great considering they are not a specialty store. LOVE the PRODUCE and that awesome produce guy who is there, in the same spot EVERY time I go there, making sure all of the veggies are fresh and assisting me with what I need. They have a lot of employees who have been there for a long time, and i like that in a grocery - it feels so at home an familiar to see those faces when I go. Checkers and baggers are totally great, I really like Jessica and Dave - they ROCK! 4 stars instead of 5 because that Wells Fargo in the store has some of the most simple minded employees in it I have ever come across. I would give them "0"! Today I'm standing in line at the self check out and 2 registers have their light on and the other 2 do not. The 2 with the light on are being used and the other 2 weren't. So I'm standing patiently in line waiting, another customer walks up and asked are you in line? I reply yes I'm waiting. One of the registers open up I go there and he proceeds to the one with the light off. He starts scanning his products. This whole time there has been two employees standing there one named Steven that I can see and the other was a female with her name badge covers by her hair. The whole time chit chatting about personal stuff. As I start scanning I asked them were those 2 registers working? He replied yes. I replied thanks for letting me know those were working. He didn't have a reply. So I go home to call to speak to a manager on duty and it was him!!! So I hung up because he isn't going to discipline himself. I guess he doesn't care about the time of his customers but likes talking about his personal life!!! Very disappointed in management! I would expect that from a regular employee but not management. That is why I'm posting this on Yelp so corporate hopefully sees this. I think I'll be going to shopping at Safeway!!!! read more

This place is great! Always clean, great ready made food items (salad, heat and eat, olive bar, etc.) and friendly staff. Being new to the area, there aren't any stores I'm familiar with, so someone recommended Raley's as a Whole Food Market alternative and I tried it. I couldn't be happier with the recommendation. I think I prefer Raley's over Whole Foods because it's cheaper, just as fresh and has many of the uncommon food items I like to use at home. Please never leave Benicia!! read more

For this area at Raleys is the very best choice. Fairfield Vallejo and Venetia are so lacking compared to other areas but really Raleys goes a long way to make up for that. I only gave four stars because I find the prices to be excessive even compared to whole foods on many items. It's big it's beautiful and the people are mostly nice. I love this grocery store, and as a whole the quality is top notch. The reason I gave it a three is because I have seen people with their personal dogs in the grocery store, one was sniffing the open fresh bread bags in the deli section and none of the employees said anything. I love dogs, but some people have health issues and besides the exception of service dogs, this should not be tolerated. read more

We live very close to Safeway in Glen Cove and Safeway is a very old out dated store not properly maintained. Traveling 2 exits down 780 to Rayle's is a treat as soon as you enter you can see they have taken all covid19 precautions to insure consumer safety. They have gloves masks put plexi glass up do not allow personal bags keep the store very clean,sterile and very well stocked and we are very thankful for there efforts read more

I have been using their delivery service since Covid, and it has been consistently good service. They are often missing items, but that is true at every grocery store these days. They have no room in the back to store frozen food they told me, so you have to time your orders with when they stock the shelves. The personal shoppers and drivers have been very good, always punctual or even early. It is wonderful compared to Safeway's Instacart service which is very expensive and they are often missing up to 2/3 of the items I order and try to foist substitutions on me that I don't want. I still wish we had a Trader Joe's or a Whole Foods equivalent nearby, but Raley's generally has good brands and fresh produce. Their hot bar has gone way down hill due to lack of staffing. They often close it at 5pm - right before dinner time!?? And the foods have gone back to the standard fried and unhealthy fare. I liked it when they were experimenting with grilled foods. Managers at both Raleys and Safeway have people go home early to save money, so it is harder to shop after hours now. Raleys is so much easier to shop in though than Benicia Safeway which is truly aweful. read more

had a great experience today at raley's. a male shopper (anyway i think he was a shopper) had a lavender plant in his cart.... he was handing all the ladies in the store one of the blooms from the plant! everyone he gave a bloom to had a great smile on her face!! i asked the cashier if this was a new customer service! that made him smile! read more

A good place to do regular shopping- WAY more efficient than Safeway, more professional staff, and better selection, as well. I don't think their prices on most things are any higher. They have a pharmacy, a Wells Fargo that is open late (& 7 days a week!), a hot bar & salad bar, and juices/ smoothies, and sandwiches made to order. The breakfast burritos are a great deal, albeit a LOT of food. I special-ordered a turkey breast for Thanksgiving, and it was much easier than I expected- no confusion or issues or anything! The parking lot is a little annoying to navigate, but there are just SO many businesses in that shopping center, it is understandable. The only thing that I don't like to buy here are paper products (too pricey) but hey, that's what Costco is for. read more

Never have to wait in a a line as opposed to Safeway. The store has a really good layout. I enjoy the look and feel to the store. Their bakery looks yummy and they make the best donuts hands down! My experience was not based on a shopping experience in the store, it was based on me cashing in a lottery ticket. Now I have cashed in small winning tickets before so I didn't think it would be a problem. Basically I won a small amount and I wanted to play another ticket. As she was processing my ticket I asked if she can play another ticket for me.....and she said NO. Ok I said even though it's a full functioning lottery machine I let it go. As I was waiting for the lady to cash out my ticket I noticed that she basically emptied out her register for my ticket. I apologized for taking all her money, and she responded by saying we don't usually cash out tickets on SUNDAY!! Really?? There's no sign that's posted that says Raley's doesn't cash out lottery tickets on Sunday. I just took my winnings and left. I hope upper management reads this review and continues to either train their employees or replace them cause there is no place for this type of service at all!! I really really like this store. Its clean, food displayed nicely. Little extras like prepared meals, Sushi, salad bar etc. Always many lines open. Even self check out. I want to mention the flower department too. We know longer have a florist in town, so this is the place to purchase and pick up beautiful flowers. read more

Why is Raley's not requiring its customers and employees to wear masks. So many business's throughout Solano County have posted a sign at their entrances that you are required to wear a mask. Why not Raley's. I don't think people realize that by wearing a mask, you are protecting everyone around you and not protecting yourself. I also don't think that those who are wearing masks and not covering their nose realize that they are defeating the purpose of the mask. read more

Can I just say if I could give more stars I would! I have a 7 month old so life can be a bit hectic at times. I use the e-cart a lot. The service is amazing, substitutions are amazing. And I even got a little thank you card and complimentary brownies with my last two orders. Literally made my week! Whenever I go in the store it's awesome as well. So clean, everyone is super friendly and helpful. My baby had done well the whole time shopping in store but as soon as I got in line to check out she basically started yell crying. They opened a checkstand just for me to get me out quicker. It was so nice and helpful and made my day so much easier for me and my daughter. I have shopped at this store since it's opening. I just returned and was disgusted with how awful the store looked. They are piling cartons in the isles making it hard to maneuver around them as well as their display cases blocking the isles. There is no rhyme or reason to the placement of the cutter and makes it very hard to shop and a very unsatisfactory experience. Things are constantly being moved so it is very hard to find items. Also it certainly is not as clean as it used to be. I am really disappointed especially after the huge remodel they did. Now it is terrible. read more

Ive seen a few bad reviews for this store, in all honesty this is one of the best grocery stores Ive ever been to. Maybe people need to visit the safeways of the surrounding cities and Benicia to understand how good this place is... It can get a bit crowded during peak hours and they may not have everything you want in terms of specialty items but employees here are always friendly and actually seem like they like their jobs, thats rare at a grocery store. read more
