They were very helpful in ordering as well. I ended up getting the French dip sandwich. The price was pretty in line with what it is nowadays. Interesting place ... I haven't been here for years - when it was kfc... they have. If electronic boards for the menu - They have seating Inaode and plenty of parking out back. The menu is quite nice. There's lots to choose from. I got he mushroom Swiss burger with tater tot's. A win. It was soooo good. My daughter got the bbq burger with onion rings . It hit the spot. Customers beware!! The sandwiches at Sprinkles Sandwich Shop are delicious, and the food itself is definitely worth trying. That's why it's so disappointing that my experience ended on such a negative note. When I checked out, I was told there was a 50¢ surcharge for using my Visa debit card. I've been told this before in different purchases from this sandwich shop. But I finally asked the gentleman at the counter today about the surcharge, and he told me it was "just how the machine is." When I pulled up the information on my phone explaining that debit card surcharges generally aren't allowed, he dismissed it and said I would have to speak with the owner. When I spoke with the owner, I was hoping for a simple explanation. Instead, she became combative, brushed off my concern, and said, "Everyone around here (Benicia) does it." Which is simply not true. I wasn't trying to argue--I was simply asking about a charge that didn't seem right. The food is genuinely good, but the way my concern was handled left a bad impression. If you pay with a debit card, I'd recommend checking your receipt carefully to make sure you know exactly what you're being charged. I hope the business reviews its payment practices and takes customer concerns more seriously in the future. I really love this place! Eclectic deli food. Lots of meat on our sandwiches. We get choice of toppings, nine different cheese, 10 different breads, and 7 different sides. My eyes have been opened. I'll admit. Theres certain places in town that I just still haven't tried even after living in Benicia for as long as I have. You know how it is right? I do wish the bread held up a little better. Even though I appreciate the amount of content I get on the sandwich, I think that particular should be served on a more sturdier bread. If not then the meat could probably be reduced just a smidge. Other than that no other complaints. When you pick up your food you shouldn't have any problems with parking. An average sandwich place with poor service! Let me clarify. I ordered chicken salad sandwich. The sandwich description on the menu says it comes with almond, carrot (was not there in my sandwich). The sandwich tastes nice, I ordered tater tots on the side, which are very crispy. The turkey Caesar salad was ordered by my wife, the potato salad on the side is nice. I like potato salad with little bits of skin in it, looks genuine! Now, when it's time to pay on the screen it shows 36.20, but the server said 37.47! Again bizarre. The difference cant be tax (it's too little to be tax, then what is it?!) Overall some confusion and I leave not just with my belly full but with confusion! Don't like that from a deli. One of the best delis in Solano County, but definitely the best in Benicia. The young man who took our order and served us was so polite and attentive. It was very refreshing to see someone so young engaging with his customers, as opposed to just "doing a job". As for the food, you can't go wrong. I have my own personal favorite under the build-your-own menu, and maybe one day I'll get around to trying out other items. But for now, I'm set in my ways. First time at this place and first thing I noticed are the ridiculous prices, around $20 per sandwich is way too much as they do taste good but not that good. I have had plenty of different sandwiches through out the years and the sweet spot for a Sprankles sandwich is around $10. The only exception is Katz Delicatessen in NYC because that's the only sandwich that is worth $30. The bread here is about average and the meats/veggies inside are fresh but not seasoned. This place is on the same level as Fire House Subs and Jersey Mikes. I do enjoy the inside environment here as it's clean and has cool pictures.
