This place has the cleanliness and service structure that feels kind of like a regional chain, but still retains a charm of a small mom and pop type shop. The folks here were very kind and polite. They were very helpful in ordering as well. I ended up getting the French dip sandwich. The price was pretty in line with what it is nowadays. (Early 2026) I thought the sandwich was tasty and well made. Again, I can't stress how kind the folks here were. One of the kids working brought me my water even though I didn't mind going up to the counter to grab it. Just a great place to grab a quick and delicious lunch. Customers beware!! The sandwiches at Sprinkles Sandwich Shop are delicious, and the food itself is definitely worth trying. That's why it's so disappointing that my experience ended on such a negative note. When I checked out, I was told there was a 50¢ surcharge for using my Visa debit card. I've been told this before in different purchases from this sandwich shop. But I finally asked the gentleman at the counter today about the surcharge, and he told me it was "just how the machine is." When I pulled up the information on my phone explaining that debit card surcharges generally aren't allowed, he dismissed it and said I would have to speak with the owner. When I spoke with the owner, I was hoping for a simple explanation. Instead, she became combative, brushed off my concern, and said, "Everyone around here (Benicia) does it." Which is simply not true. I wasn't trying to argue--I was simply asking about a charge that didn't seem right. The food is genuinely good, but the way my concern was handled left a bad impression. If you pay with a debit card, I'd recommend checking your receipt carefully to make sure you know exactly what you're being charged. I hope the business reviews its payment practices and takes customer concerns more seriously in the future. Before they are reported to the state's department of Justice or to the county department of weight and measures by someone for their charging practices. read more

My eyes have been opened. I'll admit. Theres certain places in town that I just still haven't tried even after living in Benicia for as long as I have. You know how it is right? If none of the people in your circle have tried it, it sometimes makes it a hard for one to make the leap of faith. After all, everything is pricier nowadays. So making sure you are getting your money's worth is more important more than ever. I'm glad that Sprankles always makes me feel confident about my purchase when I order from them. Recently I tried their Pastrami Club and was very impressed. Lots of good flavors. If you are person who loves extra meat or their sandwiches then I think you'd love this one. I do wish the bread held up a little better. Even though I appreciate the amount of content I get on the sandwich, I think that particular should be served on a more sturdier bread. If not then the meat could probably be reduced just a smidge. Other than that no other complaints. When you pick up your food you shouldn't have any problems with parking. I would not eat here again if someone paid me to. When I received my order, my Housemade chips were packaged badly. The top of the bag is open, exposing my chips to the hands of the DoorDasher. When I called in to make them aware of bad packaging, I asked to speak to the manager and the person answering the phone asked me why. I asked him if he was a manager he said no so I said why the F are you asking me why then? Yes I dropped the F bomb because I'm hungry and my food was improperly packaged. I have been ordering from this restaurant for some time and I thought it was gonna be one of my favorites, but that's gonna be a hard no. He left me on hold and no one got on the phone for about five minutes so I'll call back. The manager got on the phone and started talking to me crazy talking about first of all don't ever call here talking crazy to my employees. So the next thing I did was let her have it. Too much entitlement and she was talking to me like I worked for her. This seemed to be a good place but now I'm gonna have to complain on every review. An average sandwich place with poor service! Let me clarify. I ordered chicken salad sandwich. The sandwich description on the menu says it comes with almond, carrot (was not there in my sandwich). The server didn't ask me for bread choice or if i want it to be toasted. I chose "the works" as the topping which comes with mustard sauce, again something non-existent. The sandwich tastes nice, I ordered tater tots on the side, which are very crispy. The turkey Caesar salad was ordered by my wife, the potato salad on the side is nice. I like potato salad with little bits of skin in it, looks genuine! Now, when it's time to pay on the screen it shows 36.20, but the server said 37.47! Again bizarre. The difference cant be tax (it's too little to be tax, then what is it?!) Overall some confusion and I leave not just with my belly full but with confusion! Don't like that from a deli. One of the best delis in Solano County, but definitely the best in Benicia. The young man who took our order and served us was so polite and attentive. It was very refreshing to see someone so young engaging with his customers, as opposed to just "doing a job". As for the food, you can't go wrong. Finally was able to try Sprankle's deli and I'm so glad I did. Plenty of parking. Monday - Friday their hours are 10-5. A friend and I arrived at 4 and at 5 they closed but they also didn't rush us out. We were still respectful of their time and left. There are so many items on their menu, it was difficult to decide. I wanted one thing and then saw something else that caught my eye but I'll try it next time. I ordered the Italian Herb Turkey Bacon with potato salad. Let me just say that I inhaled this sandwich. It was perfectly warm, soft, and savory. The herbed bread was delicious and it paired well with the turkey and bacon. The sandwich was stuffed. The bacon was extra crispy which I loved a lot! First time at this place and first thing I noticed are the ridiculous prices, around $20 per sandwich is way too much as they do taste good but not that good. I have had plenty of different sandwiches through out the years and the sweet spot for a Sprankles sandwich is around $10. The only exception is Katz Delicatessen in NYC because that's the only sandwich that is worth $30. The bread here is about average and the meats/veggies inside are fresh but not seasoned. As others have noted, it can get pretty busy at times, even in the afternoon, so be prepared to be a little patient to get your sandwiches, but you'll be happy you waited. We grabbed three sandwiches (roast beef, original turkey, and egg salad), which were variably customized from their condiment options (best foods mayo, yellow mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pepperoncinis), and they were all terrific. The side of potato salad was preferred over the coleslaw which was dryer and less seasoned for our palate.
