The bleached blonde cashier needs customer service and bagging classes... and in the evening, they don't have any cashiers at all but you can't buy alcohol though the self checkout. In the Deli section there is a man who wear a white bandana & is very rude. He messed up 3 of my sandwiches, he doesn't seem happy to be working there, doesn't greet & doesn't repeat my order. As much as I really love most of the people that work there and have been going here for almost 10 yrs, the quality in the last year has seriously been declining. It used to be that you would go to Raleys because you didn't have to deal with the dramas of the big box discount grocery stores(i.e. Moldy aging produce, low quality meats and old boxed and canned goods and the long long lines) and because when you went to Raleys their meats and produce were top notch and the staff were very knowledgeable with their products. That's not the case anymore. Their produce is often old, especially the onions. I've brought home many yellow or red onions that looked great on the outside and then you peel them when you get home only to find major mold. The apples are starting to wrinkle or look super waxy after only a day or two and their pork longaniza(which is vacuum sealed and has a good long shelf life) was expired. I brought over 6 packages to the front register people on 3 separate occasions- once after purchasing and not checking the date myself which they replaced) but they weren't just a few days past but almost a month past the expiration date. Their selection has gone down and now instead of being my go-to grocery store for all of my needs, it's the back up I don't have time to go anywhere else and hope and pray it's not bad store. It's a shame that this has happened. I sure hope that corporate or management reads this review and double checks because I can guarantee you that it's still the same today and they make appropriate changes. The prices you pay are for top-notch foods which I will gladly pay but not for food closet quality produce and meats. Also, if you look at the area that the bacon and sausages and chorizo are stored it's in desperate need of a deep deep clean!! Dried on grime and food all over. That was probably the final straw for me for even packed meats. I will take the extra time to drive to another store and after seeing the other reviews that say the same as I've said in mine from years ago, it's apparent there won't be any changes to this store. I've always had a great experience at this location but tonight was the best! I love Raley's new earl gray tea in a glass bottle, I've called many different Raley's and Belair trying to find it but everyone is out. This store had it, when I got there I couldn't find it but Patti the manager was so helpful. She and the staff helped me find this tea and was so nice the whole time. I'm a customer service manager and this store went above and beyond tonight. This store is always stocked too, my Belair is not. We have shopped at Raley's for years and had great experiences. Today, that all changed. after today, you will no longer receive my service! . I placed an online order that was supposed to be delivered between 2-3 today. At 2:05, I called Customer Care. After asking about my order and being placed on hold, I was hung up on! I called back. same damn thing happened! I called back, a nice girl named Annie from a different store checked for me. She came back and said the Citrus Heights store it was coming from said they didn't have any drivers! She recommended we call them. Called and ask for a manager. We said we would pick our $198 order up. We were told it's on its way Okay. Received a text, our order was 31 minutes out, the driver was heading to the store. Called the store back. Asked for a manager. WS told there weren't any until tomorrow! Called custom care, talked to the very Rude Manager Monica. She said they didn't have our order! What! Back on hold! Found a driver, he will be about 40 minutes! Asked for a phone number for Corporate Office to file a complaint. Monica said she can't give it out and hung up! read more

This has to be the worst Raley's in California! You constantly have to check expiration dates on food, especially dairy products. I have found food that has been outdated by at least a month. I raised the issue with the manager before, but nothing has changed. Even Walmart is not this bad! When people shop at Raleys with their higher prices, they expect the best. I see a lot of negative reviews and am sad about that. We've been here 22 years and have always had good service from this Raleys. When my husband went thru cancer-hell last summer, the pharmacy department really helped us through it and took a personal interest in his well being. Yes, the lines are long and I was sad to see more self-serve lines; I'd rather keep my neighbors in jobs, but also understand that's what customers want. The remodel looks nice. I just had a conversation with the manager at Raleys. Did you know that Raleys is going paperless? And do you know what that means? It means that before you get the coupon deals at Raleys, you need to go to your smart phone or your computer and look at the coupons. You need to either bring your smart phone with them pulled up or you need to print them from your computer. Now I know for most of us it's just an extra hoop that we have to jump through before we go grocery shopping to try and get the best deal. But for my 93 year old neighbor, it means that it doesn't matter that she has been a loyal customer for most of the 88 years that Raleys has been in business. She doesn't have a smart phone, and she doesn't have a computer. Moving forward, she is never going to get the best deals for the groceries that she buys at Raleys. It doesn't matter that she has a "rewards" card. It doesn't matter that she's been shopping there forever. Raleys does not care. They want to save money so they're going paperless. But not only that, they're sticking it to those people who really do need the best deals... Those people that have been loyal customers, and who are on a fixed income. I have been shopping, at this Raley's, since the early 1990's. As time has gone by, sadly, the shopping experience has become most negative and wasteful. I am retired, 71 years old and usually shop early in the morning during weekdays. I went into this store, this morning and decided after oh so many years it is time for me to move on. I was there through the pandemic and afterwards and things have progressively gone downhill. The parking lot continuously looses parking spaces to the expanding availability of charging stations for electric vehicles. I thought, perhaps, the issue of not having any checkout lines (other than self-check) was limited to earlier hours during the week. Well, today I was there and had a large purchase and, on a Saturday at 9:30 not to have one checkout line open is inexcusable. I know that employees have been having difficulties with hours and work. Unfortunately, I am tired of paying for inconveniences such as mandatory self-check for anything I purchase there. Interesting enough, during my shopping time I saw one of the regular checkers (who has been there for many years) pushing the cart for online purchases. Apparently, this service has become more important than the inhouse shoppers. Generally, just trying to get around those large red carts, is frustrating enough. Most of them leave them in the way of shoppers and accessing shelf items. I guess the bottom line is that, we the in-house shoppers no longer count and, thus, why pay employees for anticipated service. Good BYE!!! read more

I'm so done with this Raley's and their ECart. I quit using ECart when they never called to let me know if they were out of an item I ordered even though I would ask them in the notes to please call me so I could choose a sub. Today I'm home ill and needed a grocery order. I texted them to please let me know if they were out of anything. They replied that my order was not yet finished. I replied back that was ok when they were done to please text me about any outs. Of course they didn't. My order was an hour late which I didn't really care about since I'm home sick and not going anywhere but to AGAIN disregard a customers request just shows that these people could care less about the service they are providing. They just don't get it. I'll never use them again. Raley's used to be the number 1 supermarket chain in the area. It's pretty obvious why they no longer are. I end up coming to this Raleys on the reg because it's the only grocery store in the immediate area. As far as Raleys go, it's a smaller store in an older building. The shopping center is older but taken care of so it's not that big of a deal that the store hasn't been made over yet. What I don't like the most is that since the store is smaller, they don't carry a lot of the items that a regular Raleys store would. I have found that they have most of the essentials but not a lot of the specialty items that I buy like a fresh meat counter, Kombatcha and an adequate natural foods section. Employees are friendly enough but the lines can get long at times because there sometimes aren't enough cashiers open during peak times. I really do like how they have a mini Post Office inside as well as two Redbox machines for renting movies and a Peet's Coffee counter for lattes. I will keep coming back to this location because it's convenient, they have good sales and a great rewards program. read more

I have such a love/hate relationship with this location. What I love: Close to where I live Can get most items I need but usually I won't pay what they want. Don't love: This store is in need of a deep clean. Just feels old and grungy. I HATE that the employees sit out front and smoke. I usually park over by the bench they sit at. To me it looks tacky to have your employees out front smoking and I don't want to have to walk through the smoke. Pricing has just gotten out if control. That is all Raley and Bel Air stores though. I don't buy too much here anymore since I can get most things at Target for about half price. Employees here are all over the place. Few good ones and several snarky ones that just seem miserable and they pretty much let you know. Better make sure you check expiration dates. I have always checked and it comes in handy here. Several times I have seen crackers and dairy products either expired or a day away. This location does not live up to the typical Raleys/Bel Air standard in my opinion. read more

I LOVE this store! I stopped shopping and at Safeway and started shopping here. There produce is fresh and delicious. Their meet department is well stocked. If you don't see what you want, just ask and they'll cut it for you. The Deli is also well stocked. Sometimes the salads can be a little dry, but everything else is delicious. Don't get me started on the Bakery- so good!! If your a Gan of Pete's Coffee, it's a great place to stop and get a "wake me up" along with a donut, breakfast croissant or burrito. The staff are always friendly and kind. They are willing to help you find anything you're looking for. The cashiers do a wonderful job and some of them do love to chat.but that's only because they are genuinely happy to see you. If you're not a talker, say so. But do it in a kind way. Raley's is my go to grocery store. Since I've lived in the same home for over 15 years I've been there 1000's of times sometimes multiple times a day. As a frequent shopper it's easy to say generally the associates are friendly and helpful! However, today I wanted to recognize Kelsey and Steve both cashiers. Both associates have continually made conversation while checking out, are always so kind, and truly go the extra mile to make a customer smile and laugh. If there lines are long I tend to wait the extra time so they can help me checkout. I'm very impatient and don't do that for most! LOL. Very grateful for this store and its associates! Love this store even thou pricey, walking distance close! I WISH they would put a GARBAGE CAN on the left side by benches!!!!!!!! Alot of WIND hits that side! People PUT TRASH on top of the ASH CAN! Hello, it burns and blows around! Big amounts of Waste on top of BENCHES, running, sticky, etc. UGH! I pickup the trash there daily as I have to LOOK AT while I smoke. Okay, I've been a fan of Raleys since my first visit to the one in south Lake Tahoe, great produce,etc. But I was inspired to write this from my experience this morning. Stopped by to take advantage of the special on Coke, while walking through the delicious looking baked good dept I saw some cinnamon rolls that needed to go in my cart. Well....to say that these are the most delicious cinnamon rolls I ever ate would be a huge understatement. Came in for a couple of grocery items. I rather shop at raleys because there customer service is awesome. I've never been to this particular store before. Customer service was a 0. If I'm not going to get great customer service what's the point of going to a pricey store. What makes this store different then others then?? The cashiers name was Sam she made no effort to ask me how I'm doing today or anything all she was doing was talking to the other employees. She didn't seem to know anything about the food that is sold there because when I asked her she simply said I don't know not even offering to ask another employee. It's not a good idea to have somebody working there that acts like that unless you want to lose business. Will not be returning here! read more

This is the second or third year that we have order the complete turkey dinner from Raley's. It is worth every penny. The items that are provided are very good quality with lots of flavor. The turkey was moist and tender. Complete directions are included and geared toward a "no fail" meal. The best thing about it?????.......the cook doesn't have to spend all of his or her time in the kitchen......you can actually enjoy your friends and relatives before, during and after the meal. My boyfriend and I needed to pick up some last minute items for Super Bowl Sunday, and I was amazed at how empty it was. I grabbed the red onions and my boyfriend grabbed the ice, I was put off at how the red onions looked....I didn't want to buy them but searched through the display to find decent looking onions. This Raley's is not bad, but the biggest downfall is their long lines/lack of cashiers and the oldskool meat dept. I don't like how if I want a half a pound of ground beef or something I can't go to the meat counter and have them package it for me. Its pretty much packaged in the back and brought out. read more

Update to my review I came in late last night to get some flowers to surprise my mother for her birthday. The flowers were amazing but the low review is for the base they put the flowers in. I found it odd that they put a ribbon just on the lower part of the base with large amount of tape figuring someone was trying to make it more festive. I went home to remove it so it would fit my mother taste better. Come to find out that the bottom of the base had some damage to it that I did not cause as the tape on the ribbon was already pealing off. Their put tape with small amount of ribbon to cover up damage on their products putting flowers in them and selling them for $30. I got the flowers because they looked beautiful and could reuse the base later on. Well now the whole thing gets put in the trash when the flowers die. You guys should be ashamed of yourself selling damage items and covering it up with masking tape and small amount of ribbon. read more

Do not buy Peet's Coffee here thinking you will get the same quality of drink as the actual coffee shops. I ordered a blended drink that I have ordered multiple times at the coffee shops and have all come out normal. The one they made for me here tasted like sugar. I couldn't taste any coffee at all. The barista was nice and made me another but then it just tasted like watered down almond milk. They don't refund of course. Steer clear unless you're will to take a risk and waste your money. read more

I used to go here allot because it is right off the freeway on the way home from work, but this area has always been a traffic head-ache so i now typically avoid it. As many have stated, this is an aging facility in an older development, so it has the look and feel of a 1960's supermarket. I don't really like Raley's because it has too many narrow isles and some items seem to be located in the oddest locations ? Over time, newer stores have opened nearby, but this store is still useful at times if i am headed somewhere else. A good thing would be to visit the Raley's in Roseville on Pleasent Grove Road to see a stunning awesome store with nice wide isles that fit "bigger" people!! read more
