The sourdough baguette situation finally got fixed and I appreciate that. I left a review a while back because they were always sold out by the time I got off work. Since then, I've been able to find one almost every time I stop in after work, so thank you for listening. Unfortunately, you've now created a much bigger problem. As an introvert, I intentionally use self checkout because I want to scan my groceries, pay and leave. I don't want to stand in a regular checkout line making small talk. Self checkout lets me get in and out quickly and comfortably. Today I discovered that every self checkout register is now card only. If I'm paying with cash, I have no choice but to go through a cashier. That completely defeats the purpose of self checkout for me. Please bring back at least one self checkout register that accepts cash. Not everyone wants to use a card every time, and not everyone wants to go through a staffed checkout. I've shopped at Raley's for many years because it's always been my favorite grocery store, but this change is a deal breaker. I won't be shopping here again unless cash is accepted at self checkout. It's genuinely disappointing to lose a store I've always enjoyed over something that never needed to be changed in the first place. read more

Go way back with this Raleys, as it is the closest to my work. This location is a rather large store, wide aisles that provide plenty of product selection. Amongst the sevices within, Pharmacy, Floral, fresh vegetables and fruit, Frozen food, Pet food, Butcher (ive taken advantage of having large portions parted into smaller for quick storing/freezing). They also have a deli and chinese wok , as well as a Peetes coffee on site. Sifning up for the membership which is free, earns you discoubts and accumulate points towards reward bicks quarterly you apply towards a future purchase. I do love this Raley's-I've literally been coming here on the regular from the day it was built-Day 1 back in 1998-I come to this Raley's pretty much every day that I work on my breaks and lunches-just to stretch the legs-get some steps in and also to get fresh fruit and snacks to get me thru the day. The employees-including the management team and the regular workers are all amazing-they are always so friendly-so helpful-I'm pretty much greeted when I see any of them and almost always when I leave-just a solid place to do any type of grocery shopping. My favorite days to shop at this location is for sure on Mondays when they have the $5 Monday Deals-they generally have really great deals on those days and pretty much always have something I can add to the household for the week. Raley's resets their price specials of the week on Wednesdays-so that's probably my 2nd favorite day to shop at Raley's-I'm always trying to figure out the meat and seafood specials that week so I can plan my home meals for the week. Another thing I love about this location is their are always restocking their clearance section on the regular so I'm always finding something new-heck today I bought 6 items from the clearance section-just things like spices and sauces-things I will go thru quickly but don't want to pay full price for. They also at this location have lots of spirit sales-50% off bottles type sales quite often and it's a lot of times pretty high quality stuff-I've been able to build my tequila collection up pretty good just by looking for their sales. Only downside to this location is we do have to walk around quite a few of homeless near the pathway between my work and the front entrance as it's a pretty popular hangout for the less fortunate-it's no big deal but I know some female workers at my job are afraid to walk by themselves because of it.Overall it's nice of Raley's not to kick em out-they are just looking for a place to sleep. In closing-I definitely recommend this Raley's location as I've been here since day 1 and will continue to shop here for as long as I'm working in the area-their employees are really great. read more

This Raley's supermarket has an odd and inconvenient parking lot. Where you think there should be an exit turns out to be a dead end. This is like the Winchester Mystery House of parking lots. What's up with that??? The space itself is huge! Maybe too huge. And what's up with the rock music that they play full blast all the time?!? Price-wise, you have to use the app to get the specials. I went to check out at the register. The cashier Felice was so rude to me. The way she said and her attitude was very rude. She was obviously looked down on me. There is no way I could rate this Raley's any higher with the way they maintain or should I say NOT maintain their bathrooms. This wasn't just an accident someone had in one of the stalls but a clear all around uncleanliness and a public health concern. The stall walls had unknown fluid stains all over every surface of the walls. The floors were sticky and disgusting. I couldn't even stick around to shop after that experience. Worst of both worlds: the high prices of Raley's, with the customer service of Food Source. This location basically has two clerks running it: one for a regular checkout lane, and another to oversee self-checkout. Because there is usually a line and no one to actually bag your expensive items, I end up bagging myself simply because I'm trying to be respectful of the person's time behind me. I'm fine bagging myself at a discount store like Winco, but I always thought Raley's high prices were to help improve the user experience. They need to actually hire some workers and cut back on the creepy security guard standing at the entrance. On the plus side, they play good music and the white-haired checker is usually in good spirts, so I'll give them that. But man, it does make me want to drive a little further to the Bel Air on Arden. read more

The Peet's coffee worker was a middle aged, short brown haired lady. She was off- putting from the start and "not able to resolve" my coffee since I got it from a Peet's chain. She calls the manager over who is just as ignorant and unhelpful as she is. If I map myself to a "Peet's " coffee then I expect to be taken care of like a customer who just purchased from Peets. Raley's deserves to fail. Maybe Keith Knopf (CEO) and Paul Gianetto (President) should get out of their office and see their product. I've shopped at Raley's and Bel Air for 60 years. I've lived near store #416 for the past thirty. This store, staff and customers have been neglected for the past several years. Now, congratulations, it's a dump. Usually, there is only one checkout open and zero courtesy clerks. Come in and pay premium prices, wait in line forever and ultimately bag your own groceries. In a sampling of five neighboring families, I was the last to continue shopping there. Their line employees are still fantastic, but the upper-management must hate them, their customers and themselves because they are driving business away. Just maybe, the way to increase revenues isn't to offer a worsening product. Please close this sad place and let something go in that wants to be there. read more

Have shopped Raley's stores for 30+ yrs. But watching the decline of this storied grocery chain is sad to watch. Some stores are cleaner and newer than others...but quality should always be the same. It's not. And selection is limited. Started shopping Safeway...better prices but dirty stores. I usually shop Winco now...best selection and prices. Tonight just wanted a quick grocery stop for a piece of fresh fish for dinner. Ok, Raleys is 2 minutes from home. Butcher counter had "fresh cod" Cool, I'll take a pound. Got home and opened the butcher wrap and the smell stunk up my kitchen in seconds. GF walked in and immediately commented on the fish smell. Squeezed the cod and the water from freezing poured out. When it comes to grocery stores, Raley's is one of the main places I feel confident about shopping at. Since this whole pandemic situation has arisen, I have the job to shop for my elderly parents who must shelter in place. My mother has very specific tastes, brand preferences, and some food allergies. So it's not always easy to find everything I need in one store. This store is very nice inside, clean and well stocked. I was relieved that they enforce the Covid-19 protocols, including disinfecting shopping carts before customers use them. They have a nice variety of products and it's easy to locate items down each aisle. My favorite area is the produce department where everything is fresh and beautifully arranged. Fruits and veggies are an important part of our list. I couldn't find the Honey Maid Stacks crackers because they were out. They had a limited selection of Amy's frozen dinners or the Pom super teas in only a couple of flavors. And no Flax 4 Life muffins. Other than that, I was somewhat satisfied to get my shopping mostly complete! You can see how difficult shopping can get when it comes to my parents. I love coming to this store. It's always so clean and I love the variety they have. The butcher is super friendly and helpful. I have come a handful of times now and haven't experienced anything negative! I can see why only having one entrance can be frustrating but I get it. I feel like maybe it's because of the location they want to prevent theft? Just my guess but either way it's still worth shopping at. Very friendly staff over the counter where the fried chicken, kale salad and wedges. 8 pieces for 8.99 but if you prefer the different breading on fried chicken over at the Asian station, that's 10 pieces for 7.99. Both are equally delicious. The kale salad In the smallest container came around $1.89. I wanted some to try with my danish blue cheese. Came out yummy. I've been to about 15 different Raley's over the past 5 years, all have the worst prices, selection and hands down the worst customer service. I have never left Raleys feeling good. This was my last go with them. I will drive an extra 20 miles before i stop at another raley's. read more

Be Careful at this Raley's and watch the cashiers they OVER charge at the self check out!! I only bought a few items and it came to a grand total of $38.00. I thought that's a little much. I had her take off one item that was $7.99. It brought the price down to $20.31. I though it was weird that it brought the price down from $38.00 to $20.31 When the item was only $7.99. I said I only have $20.00 dollars could you take one of the apples off. When she did it brought my total down to $13 32.. How does one apple cost close to $7.00. I think she was trying to pull a fast one and I caught on to it and she felt guilty maybe and lowered the price. It should have been more like a round $17.00. Keep eye on the cashiers. This location does not bother to staff their checkout lines anymore. Go trader Joe's a few blocks down. They have 6-10 checkout lanes open at all times and you don't have to do back flips to get the price advertised on the shelf. Or, go to almost any other Raleys, and they will have at least 1 checkout lane open during all business hours. Vomit! Third time buying Chinese food from this place recently. It is horrible! Chicken Chow Mein has no chicken or any veggies. All greasy noodles only. Well it happened again at this Raley's on Marconi Avenue ... I had to buy something bcos I was in the neighborhood and the closest market so as usual I walk in and ofc ppl are in front of me right? It's so obv when they walked in & I was right behind them they were greeted with "Hi how are u today"? But when I followed there were no words said to me how rude!!!! I went to the deli Dept to check out salads but the guy working at the counter not once did he look up to help or ask if I needed anything as if I wasn't there. I waited for a few but still no looking up or if I needed help but funny the guy behind me was assisted right away isn't that crazy? I guess ppl like me who are not white in color aren't tended like the others ... I don't knw why this goes on and this Raley's stays open I am a paying customer so why am I treated differently? My money is green like everybody else but guess my skin color is a big factor. Out of all the bigger chain grocery stores, Raley's has the best hot deli fried chicken! It's the breading that tastes better and I think it seems just by what I've received, the chicken pieces are bigger than the other grocery stores. The store staff is usually very friendly and will help you out with your groceries to your car. The last time I got fried chicken here, I timed it just right, they batch just came out of the fryer and wasn't even in the hot case yet. Tasty! This is a huge shout out to Riley's store #416, bakery. This rave review goes out to LIANA, in the bakery department!!! Every time I come in and need something she goes way out of her way and she is always so kind about it. Today is my son's 10th birthday and he really wanted a small Oreo cake to himself. I asked Liana if they had one, she stopped what she was doing and put time and effort into making him one. This will make his day. She is wonderful and should be recognized! Keep up the great work. Wouldn't suggest you shop hear the employees careless about you. Was shopping with my father , when I asked the produce manager Kent. If you could check to see if he had some fresh cut watermelon in the back , And he rolled his eyes looked away from me and made some weird grunting sound and told me those are fresh enough there's no sense in checking the back if I just put these up. But when I told them the date on them expires the next day he just walked away from me. My father's been a loyal shopper here for a long time. Every week gets his watermelon and this guy always gives him a problem. Not sure what this guys problem is but no customer deserves to be treated that way. I have shopped in this Raleys for many years, I've seen the ups and downs of this company. We mainly come here for the fruits and vegetables and the meats. For their high quality beats most other stores. But I have noticed a bad trend in the last month. That anytime the tall guy with glasses goes on vacation or is off. Hadn't been to this location in over a decade. I had left work late, craving a salad and remembered Raley's salad bar from years ago. To my chagrin the soup and salad bar is no more! There were prepackaged salads (made my Raley's) to save the day. I chose the California Cobb Salad and it was delicious. I had a few extra minutes since I didn't have to make a salad, so I picked up a few more items. The isles are nice and wide, sparkly white, shiny floors, beautiful, bountiful produce, and the shelves were well stocked. I couldn't find a particular item and I saw an employee walking by the isle. I asked him a question and said I could locate the item if he told me where it was, but he insisted on taking me to the section, to the item (who does that!). I literally go there every other week and never get a hello,smile or greeting, they just stare or look at you crazy , even in the self check- out. This was never a great grocery store but they have totally given up on treating paying customers with respect. They have closed off the second entry door so I had to walk from the only remaining disabled parking spot to the other side of the building. Once inside, isles were blocked with restocking carts and promotional items in tables, so customers with their carts have to zig-zag around each other to shop or pay. Whoever came up with the layout of merchandise obviously does not do their own shopping. There is no logic to where items are stocked. Aisles are so tall, you can't read signs until you get to the front of each one. So, customers must walk the entire store to find things. Items are short or past date so they have to be checked carefully. Good luck finding an employee available to help. I just bailed and went to another store. I can get better service at Grocery Outlet and not pay so much, or Corti Bros to get service and reliable groceries. read more

This Raley's is on my avoid if possible list. Going to this store it's like your running a 3rd world gauntlet. Panhandlers pounce on you as soon as you park, trash everywhere, people sleeping in the bushes etc. Security does nothing about it. The last straw was when I was aggressively panhandled INSIDE the store. I told security and they did nothing. I watched the person basically demand money from dozens of people. Many reported and still security did nothing. One shopper told me that he saw someone steal and security did nothing. Once I finished my purchase I did witness security kicking our children from selling candy bars at the entrance outside. Lame and mean. I refuse to shop at a mean spirited place that doesn't take shoppers safety seriously. The prices are also so high because you have to pay for the thefts that security does nothing about. read more

Please , How come there are no checkers in the late evening hours. Your customers have no choice but to self check out.
