I like their products but this location is really just a-ok at best. Well, I went here to pick up a few things on the way home. I go order a sandwich. The girl at the deli counter was nice but she was really too busy gossiping with her co-worker friend to make my food. Note to her, if you are going to gossip about other co-workers, at least do it when customers are not around. They were talking smack about this person right in front of me! Then, when I get all my items and go to check out, the check out clerks (both of them) seemed very unhappy to be at work. Hey, I work in customer service too, so I definitely know how it can be. So disgusted!! I don't live in this area but I stopped at this location to buy a few groceries. Picked up a pound cake for dessert but when we sat down to eat it, I noticed green spots and white fuzz all over. MOLD! I looked at the date and the sell by date was 9/3/2019. Today is 9/22/2019!! My yelp check-in history will clearly show I usually shop at another grocery store, and I boost my savings even more by using their app for an even better deal. But...I made a trip to this Raley's location and immediately fell in love with the produce section. The selection and quality of the produce is very impressive! This store location includes a small section of "use today" type of produce which is very affordable for people on a budget still seeking a tasty nutritional alternative. It's fantastic! The other products in the store are higher priced than other nearby grocery stores, even if you do use the "something extra" card. So, if you have a long shopping list, and the time to visit other grocery stores in the area, you may want to limit your purchases to the produce section, or other "specials" you have already competitively researched. I've already decided that when I come back around in my next life I'm coming back and shopping at Raley's..... At least more than I do now..... But for now I remain and happily so Frugal Fanny with an eagle eye for great deals and caviar tastes and a food stamp budget..... This store is beautiful..... And yes grocery stores can be strikingly breathtaking for some and well for me actually..... I came in to satisfy a serious craving for fresh fruit and cherries to be exact and what I found was a rainbow of vast arrays of super fresh veggies and fruits as far as the eye could see.. Then I strolled over to the cheese department where the multiple glass refrigerator bins contained perfectly placed and maintained fully stocked varieties of the beloved cheese......... Uuuummmmm I adore cheese of nearly all kinds..... It was so neatly organized and also amazingly fresh....and well quite frankly, pretty....... Next onto the bread section to replenish our Sara Lee low carb bread that's a staple in our Casa and they had it which I appreciated as many stores do not carry it or they are consistently out of stock on it. Then I saw next to it one of my favorite low carb flax seed breads that I haven't been able to find in years and for under $5 a loaf so snagged it too! As I strolled the aisles and perused their offerings it hit me as to why people shop in stores like this which are very foreign to me as I have always always always shopped at the discount stores and discount grocery stores myself. And that reason or at least I believe the reason that many shop here is the freshness, cleanliness, selection, upper class of people and quality customer service they receive and I actually get that..... And as beautiful as all that this store is I just cannot seem to justify to myself paying so much for the bulk of the items that I shop for. Doing so takes the enjoyment out of it for me as I feel I can be saving that money for emergencies and future vet bills for our pack of many as well as for ourselves..... I left today without the beautiful cherries that I went in for as I just wasn't able to move past the price tag of $12+ dollars for two pounds or so knowing that the farmers who grew them are lucky to see a 1/4 and at best a 1/3 of those proceeds and not having peace about that knowledge. As being married to a dairy farmer for 15 years and growing up for the past 30+ years in close contact with the farmers who put the food into the stores for us to buy and knowing how little money they receive for their efforts it actually sickens me..... And so I shop discount grocery as much as feasibly possible and come to places like this when I need to...... Raley's is a gorgeous store that feeds not only the body with the food that they sell but your aesthetic senses as well so I will utilize it for the latter of the two and be grateful for what I have as well as all that I don't ;) ~ The End ;)~ read more

I hate coming to this Raley's now. Customer Service is AWFUL. The cashiers and courtesy clerks obviously do not want to be at work and their actions show it. They barely say "hello" when checking out and are too busy having conversations amongst themselves to even begin to show care for their customers. I have been coming to Raley's Supermarkets for years and I really do not know why I have continued to come. I think it's time to go elsewhere and use my money where the staff actually shows that they care. read more

My Family and I shop at this Raleys EVERYDAY! (Literally) whether it be for ourselves or instacart, we are always here! This is our absolute favorite store to shop at. Our kids have come to love all of the workers, especially Gabby! She is always so bubbly and welcoming whenever we see her. She even takes the time to explain what she's doing and how certain things work to my daughter. Thanks to her my daughter wants to work at this store when she grows up lol. I live right near this Raleys and it's our main grocery store. Fantastic inventory (there's rarely an item I can't find), fresh produce, great bakery, good alcohol section and a decent organic & gluten-free area. I like the garden aisle, which doubles as the holiday section depending on the time of year. The in-store Wells Fargo is handy, as is the Redbox and the Peet's Coffee. We recently started using the deli area for dinner when we don't feel like cooking, you can get a sizeable dinner for pretty cheap (yay for Wednesday Meatloaf Meal!) Their checkers are nice and the self checkout is relatively low-hassle. No complaints here! read more

The people who work here are extremely nice. It is a nice store and the pharmacy was also extremely nice. We got a fruit platter and ate it later. This store like many other Raley's / Bel AIr stores, they got everything you need. Not bad. I've noticed a huge drop in customer service. Replacing kids for experienced cashiers to save money on labor will give you poor results. We have been shopping at this location for 15 years and a loyal customer too. Service with a smile will keep us shopping here. read more

One January 6, 2024 on or around 9:55 a.m. The customer service was very poor. I was in line with one poor cashier working. And another employee comes up to the cashier talking for a long time why the lady was try to work and the line was growing. And after a few minutes she says oh do u want me to help you to the cashier that was the only one working I was like ??? The worker still proceeded to chit chat and then decided to take all of the customers behind me as if I was not there!! I've never seen such nasty customer service and disregard for not only me as the customer but for her own co-worker. The rude behavior was so noticeable that the customers in front of me and also the ones that the cashier took was outside when I walk out to my car they stopped me to apologize for your ( Raley's) workers nasty and rude customer service. I have been going to this store for years, and never had a bad experience. I do not know why people get into customer service and do not want to service certain groups of people. I am so disappointed in Raley's online ordering. First, you have to wait six days for your items to be delivered. Second, everyday items such a bread, butter, cereal are out of stock. Really! Forget toilet paper and cleaning supplies. Third, no receipt for your purchase to check against what you actually get. Fourth, a $6.95 delivery and a driver tip which isn't bad unless it equals one fourth of the amount charged. What I don't understand is if they have a six day lead time for delivering your order why aren't they ordering extra for their online orders. That should be a given. I have ordered twice but not again. Very frustrating. They should stop offering this service during the Covid-19 virus. A disservice to seniors and other home bound individuals. read more

We are longtime and loyal customers of this particular Raley's and have seen many employees come and go. My wife and I were in today around 2:00pm on 11/4. Israel was the best bagger I have ever seen. Polite, respectful and fast. It was amazing (almost artistic) how the groceries were bagged. It was like the game "Jenga" when we got home to unload. I loved this location and often get something before work which is very convenient. I'm disappointed when an incident happened where I didn't get my cash out before heading out. I emailed the service center and was told to go back to the store and show my receipt and I should get my money back. Apparently this location has a different procedure. When I told customer service she said that she has to wait until someone tells her that they have an overages from their cash register and she'll call me back. No call back ever since then and it has been a week. I emailed back Rita Rose Raley's Service Center and told her my experienced and I haven't received a response back either. read more

Tried their ecart grocery pickup service. Had a large order, including 36 bottles of Gatorade that was on sale. It would've taken me more than an hour to gather everything up. But I simply drove up to the e-card pick up area, sent a text that I was there and very shortly thereafter a nice young lady came out and loaded everything into the car for me. Great service from Sizzling Wok, the Chinese fast food area inside. Everyone here is extremely nice and always offers to help you out to your car. They're the true gems of Raley's. BUT I need to express my disgust with their public bathrooms. It's disgusting in there with toilet paper everywhere in the ladies room. I can't blame people for struggling since their toilet paper is the cheapest of toilet paper, disintegrating in your hands as you're pulling it out. You only get two inches of toilet paper before having to pull again and again and again. I'm really surprised because Raley's is so well organized and clean compared to Safeway and Savemart but they skimp so much on toilet paper. read more

I go in the morning on my way to work, the people on the floor stocking are always nice and helpful. But checking out is another matter. It's only self check at that time and the machines are not always running correctly. The assistants are always talking to each other and don't rush over to help. The machines are just glitching and they look at you as if you're just not doing it right. I wish they'd just open one cashier lane. read more

I have been buying raley's nob hill cakes for years. They have a new line up of cakes that I was looking forward to trying. I have to say I am extremely disappointed with the last two that I purchased. I just bought the dulce Napoleon. The pastry was very dry and almost not edible. The flavor was good but not the right ratios. I couldn't even finish one slice. At $27 for a small round cake, it was definitely not worth it. It was a mediocre cake at best. read more

I have driven by this Raleys/Bel Air location many times but have never gone inside until I was driving by and it was the last day of their $9.99/lb King/Snow Crab sale so I decided to stop in. The outside of the building isn't very impressive, but it is beautiful inside! Probably the nicest looking Raleys/Bel Air I have ever seen. They have great seasonal displays right in front and faux hard wood floors in the produce section. Nice! The employees behind the Meat/Seafood counter were super nice and helpful in helping me pick out the crab I was looking for. I don't eat meat so I had a million questions but they never faltered. Amazing service! I really like the natural foods section at this location as well because it's nice and spacious and a little bigger than other locations. The self checkout registers are nice too if you're looking to get in and out quickly. Ill be back! read more

I can never eat regular French bread again.... Thanks the Dutch for improving it! Had some freshly baked Dutch Crust French bread and some hot chocolate this morning, and it was mmm mmm goood! The sweet and cracked crust and over all textures of the bread were bliss. Three of us ended up eating two loaves of bread to go with our hot chocolate for the start of our work day. It was so delicious that I almost didn't have any room left over for lunch, which was a good thing since lunch was pretty bland. Raley's is pretty consistent as far as layout, the produce is decent, and the store is moderately priced as far as largely established chain stores are concerned. Still prefer Raley's over Safeway due to size, selection, service, and over all cost(even with the Safeway card), but Nugget is still the best place in our area! read more

I'm the Duchess!!! LOL. Definitely my favorite Raleys. I work right behind Raleys so I'm here all the time...sometimes twice a day. Very clean and organized. It has everything a grocery store should have, deli, java city coffee, hot food, REDBOX, fresh produce, great meat selections, Pharmacy, Hippie section...aka organic, self check-outs and plenty of parking. I wish we had a Raleys downtown......we only have Safeway which I like too but I'm a fan of Raleys. read more

Never leave reviews but today I ran into this location to quickly grab a liter of almond milk before I headed to the gym. All the self checkouts were closed so I waited in line for this one item and once I got to the front the cashier by the name of Wade stopped me and said "Don't come back here ever again, I remember you stole a sandwich." Bro wtf?? Came here to grab one item and randomly get accused of stealing and told to not show my face there again? The manager was less then helpful as he only escalated the situation telling me I needed to leave and pulling his phone out to record me. Very bizarre encounter. This location is in the middle of a major remodel, redesign... it is going to be beautiful when finished! There is a little cafe serving specialty coffee drinks, Chinese food counter, great bakery and the store has been reorganized in a pleasant arrangement. My only beef with this location is the deli (har har)... I absolutely love Raley's/Bel Air's red potato, blue cheese, and bacon salad... I love the salad so much that sometimes I'll get a craving for it that is practically Pavlovian-- I'll rush down to this Raley's to pick up some for dinner and unfortunately I'd say they only have it in stock about 40% of the time**(See note below). I've never encountered the same problem at the Manzanita and Arden stores but the Watt location is closer to me. When I'm totally craving the salad I may drive to one of the other stores, but still... it's a pain to drive somewhere else. I just wish they kept more of the salad in stock since it's obviously popular. **note 04-17-07** I may end up changing the percentage indicated because the 4 times I have gone to the store since my review, they didn't have the salad... 0 for 4 isn't good... such a bummer! :( read more

My co-workers bought me a birthday cake and it was so pretty. They mentioned how nice the staff was and how they offered to personalize the cake. I'm very picky about cake frosting and I was absolutely blown away with how good this cake was! The frosting was so delicious! I visit this store often as it is only down the street from my job.
