Touchstone Brewing is one of our favorite places to meet up with our friends. There is ample seating indoor and outside with a modern, industrial design. Their bench seating makes me think of a biergaarten. I also really like that there's a hand wash station outside of the ones in the bathrooms as well. It is also very dog-friendly and our friends often bring their dogs with them when we sit outside. As this is a brewing company, let's start with their beer. I am always excited to come here as the Touchstone team are always trying out new and exciting combinations for their beer! Of course, this doesn't always mean good, but as a craft beer drinker the fun is trying something new-new--good or bad! I've also noticed that Touchstone is often doing a number of beer collaborations with other breweries which raises my excitement when thinking about going. Good beer needs good food, right? Well, so far everything we have tried at Touchstone has been pretty good. They have great intuition when it comes to flavor pairings and another thing I look forward to going here for! When my husband told my siblings we were coming here, they were like "You mean the rock climbing gym?" because that's the name of the gym they go to back in LA. Little did we know that when we came here there was a large rock climbing gym next door called Pipeworks that is owned by Touchstone Brewing Company. And it is the same company that has gyms in LA but this location has a brewery. This brewery is pretty large with ample inside and outdoor seating. They have a decent, varied selection including non-alcoholic beer. The bartenders are all very chill and nice. I'll definitely come next time I'm in the area. read more

I liked Touchstone since it's right by Pipeworks so you can stop by after climbing. The space has a lot of outdoor and indoor seating with long tables so I would come here to play board games. We had been wanting to check out the place and were driving by so decided to check it out. There is a large parking lot which made it easy to park. They offer a large inside and outside area to relax. There is a table where you can help with a puzzle. We walked up to order and they had an interesting selection of beers. We ordered a flight each to try several beers. They also offer some food options but we had already eaten lunch. We found a couple of comfy chairs but there was a large birthday party going on which the people were blocking the area and were quite noisy so had to move to another area. We came in for the beer dinner for the 2nd time it was amazing. The staff and management are amazing and so nice and friendly and helpful. The food at the beer dinner was amazing we will definitely be coming back for an other one. If you have never been to one of touchstones beer dinners I highly recommend you go to it it's so great and so worth it and it's amazing. Loved the beer selection, the friendly servers, food and the holiday decorations. They also have wine. Lots of parking in their gated parking lot. In and outdoor seating. Trivia nights are fun and busy. I have to mention again how the staff were so friendly and fun! The manager had an interesting antenna remote to control their neon "OPEN" sign and then the hilarity began. All the references to the remote to all the ways to manually turn off the sign brought laughs to everyone involved. (You had to be there!) The employees made it a solid five star brewery venue! Came here straight from Pipeworks and initially loved the overall vibe. Urban with a large dining floor and spacious patio dining area. Additionally, they had some funny skeleton decor right when you enter, so I always take that as a good sign regarding the personalities of the staff. Ordering at the counter was fairly easy. However, I wasn't shown a tip screen (shocking), so I couldn't tip the friendly staff member who helped us put in our order (I never have any cash on me). Grabbing utensils and water was a small adventure, since the water is from a sink on the other side of the room. My friend and I decided to sit outside to enjoy the decent weather. We ordered two chicken po' boy sandwiches and were having quite a conversation while we waited. I didn't time it, but it felt unusually long (around 20 minutes, possibly) waiting for our buzzers to go off. When the sandwiches were finally ready, I wasn't impressed with what I received, given the wait. The place wasn't even near busy. Bread was a little too hard for my liking, the chicken was slightly dry, and the sandwich contents were lacking, especially given the extremely small salad on the side. The second half of my experience was probably an anomaly, so I'm open to trying this place again next time I go to Pipeworks, but if this place is even a tad busier than this time, I'm worried the wait won't be worth it. I don't like leaving non-5-star reviews for breweries, but the beers here really, really need help and as a brewer myself, I would really want to know about these serious quality issues. Let's start with the positives: the service, the vibes, and the space are wonderful! I can't comment on the food. The beer though. I got a West Coast Pilsner, we literally came here because that is my favorite style of beer. The beer looked like a maple milkshake. It was murky with a grey-brown tint. Badly oxidized, and tasted horrible. I sent it back and got a lager...it looked good visually, it was bright anc clear. Then I tasted it and it was bursting with the buttery flavors of diacetyl. This beer had a slick, buttered popcorn jelly belly finish, rather than a crisp, mild hoppy bite. Maybe their ales are better than there lagers, but I didn't want to send back yet another beer. HOLY, the burger here was one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life on earth. I actually still have vivid memories of this burger, the right bounce to the bun while still holding shape after cutting the burger into fourths (I know an atrocity to mankind, but it was to share as a group), the burger was juicy while not being too oily to drink into the hand, and some pickled radish to really cut the fattiness. I plan to come back, climb at the gym, but mostly workout to eat this burger I will say some of the other items weren't that stellar, particular their Detroit Style for margherita (just not my fav combo despite both being good individually) but they all hit the spot. Their appetizers particularly the Asian glazed baby carrots was actually a sleeper item, highly recommend! Overall, I will definitely recommend this place purely for their main burger and carrots. We had a great experience at Touchstone Brewing. The beer tender was super friendly and took the time to explain the menu and the whole process, which we really appreciated. The brewery itself is huge -- plenty of big tables and a spacious outdoor patio that makes it easy to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Plenty of parking and the beer was fabulous. If you're looking for a place to relax with a cold beer and some pizza, this is the spot. It oozes friendly vibes, good music, and a unhurried weekend atmosphere. The menu has a good selection of beers, salads, pizza, sandwiches, and sides. I sampled a few beers, which were all good, but I really want to talk about the pizza. I ordered a Detroit style pepperoni pizza, which seemed a bit expensive at $26.00, but it's a non-tipping restaurant, so that offset the price a little. Also, the pizza was really good! It had a thick crust that was crispy along the edges, but cooked perfectly inside. The pepperoni was crispy, and curled into little cups, so it was very visually appalling. The mozzarella and burrata paired nicely, and were nice and gooey. They put honey in the dough, which gives it a little bit of sweetness, but not too much. The flavor was exceptional. I can't complain bout the service. They staff was friendly and answered my many questions about beers, the menu, etc. They also prepared my food quickly, and keep the place very clean. Stopped by on a Friday night and it was packed. There was live folk music, and misters all around the huge patio area; perfect for the hot summer night. There is a lot of seating both indoors and outdoors. The area around the brewery is a little sketchy, but there's a gate all around and a security guard patrolling the parking lot. The patio area also has corn hole and fairy lights strung around. Beer wise, I only tried a pint of the Take Pride hazy and it was just okay. Food wise, I ordered the Detroit style pepperoni pizza, which comes with pepperoni, burrata, and a hot honey drizzle. I will be coming back just for this pizza alone. We weren't the only ones with that idea since we noticed other climbers from the gym were also slowly trickling into the brewery after as well too. We ordered the kale salad with chicken and the summer salad also with chicken. The salads were refreshing with huge greens. We enjoyed our beers out on the spacious outdoor patio benches. The salads were a bit pricier being more than $20 each, but since there's no tipping here it actually just leveled out. Looking for a date idea? Why not go climbing at Pipeworks and stop by here for beer and food afterwards, or you could also just skip the climbing part :) Although the brewery felt safe, once we left and drove around the corner we did see a lot of tents and rougher streets. This place is RAD! Located in the same parking lot as Pipeworks. They have a huge industrial building that has a bunch of tables. They also have quite a bit of outdoor seating as well. The staff is friendly and helpful. Their beer is GREAT! They have IPAs and SOURs and SELTZERs which we love but they have a good amount of beers to choose from. There's something for everyone here! FOOD: They have some food that you can order at the counter. We got a sandwich and it was good. PARKING: They share the parking lot with Pipeworks and there's always a lot of parking available. TO-GO: They have a list of beers in 4-pks. SWAG: They have quite a bit of swag from bandanas to shirts to long sleeve shirts to hats. Disappointing and Disrespectful Experience. I rarely leave reviews, but my recent visit to Pintworks in Sacramento was unacceptable and deserves to be shared. I came in ready to enjoy good food and beer, but unfortunately, I left feeling disrespected and discriminated against. When I ordered a beer, I noticed my pour was significantly less than other customers'. I politely asked why, and the assistant manager Brittany and a staff member with glasses were dismissive, rude, and defensive. They claimed it "depends on the beer," yet nowhere on the menu, website, or wall signage is this stated all drinks are advertised as either 16oz or 8oz pours. Their tone was condescending, and it felt like they didn't care at all about my concern. Even when they reluctantly offered to "top it off," it was done with such attitude that I felt like a burden. What's worse, after I walked away, I overheard Brittany openly talking negatively about me to the other staff member, saying she didn't care what I had to say. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. Later, while we were finishing our meal, she came to our table, forced a fake smile to clear plates, then confronted me asking what my "problem" was. I had already said I wasn't interested in any resolution because of how rude and dismissive they were. Her confrontational behavior and denial of any wrongdoing were incredibly uncomfortable. I left feeling disrespected and frankly, like I was being treated differently because of my race. That's not something I say lightly. As for the food, it was fine but overpriced. We spent around $70 and tried the pizza (a bit burnt), the al pastor potatoes (too heavy on potatoes), and the poke tostada (the best of the three). The beer was actually good, which is unfortunate because I won't be going back. If you're a person of color, I urge you to be cautious. Came in for a quick dinner before climbing. I ordered the tri tip sandwich. Got a seat at the bench tables inside. The sandwich was wide but shorter than expected. I took the first bite and really couldn't stop. Well put together sandwich with great tastes and flavors. The tri tip was well seasoned. The onions and arugula gave it a nice sweet and nutty taste. The bread was perfectly toasted. I'm not sure what kind of cheese it was but it added a nice warm melty texture. I didn't really taste the cheese other than that. "Where is this place anyway?" I made the mistake of trying to tip 3 times and was graciously denied with a smile on their faces each time. "FINE!!!" I said. Nice group of devoted employees. We sat for a small party outside. Drinks and food were brought out to our table/s swiftly and professionally. Really good food too. Bar food of sorts, but good bar food. The deep-dish pizzas were tasty. The only drawback to a rather 5-start review was their asparagus yet flavorful and beautifully displayed was wayyyy overcooked and very mushy. All the other food ordered was fine. Nice place. I don't remember finding anything that said Touchstone except the glass, and the name was on every glass. What I saw was various names of various climbing, beer drinking, bar or climbing gym equipment whatever names. It took us 15 minutes to find "Touchstone". Everything outside said Pintworks, Pipeworks or whatever . . . Just be careful if you don't pull into the correct place, another block behind is a very condensed homeless population. Nothing not to like here. Delicious beer in a comfortable environment. Large selection of different types of beers to meet a wide array of tastes. Large indoor seating that even with the roll up doors open was fairly cool on a hot summer day. $5 pints on days over 100 degrees, if it does manage to be hot. This place is a really chill brewery to hang out at. The trivia MC, Jake Rizzly, is the only reason I come to trivia on Thursdays. My wife and I stopped in on a early Saturday afternoon and the place was modestly busy. It is a little confusing to find because the name of the brewery is Touchstone, but the place they pour their beer is called the Pintworks Pub. The Pub offers both interior and patio seating, both of which are dog friendly. The interior is a spacious, simply decorated warehouse with large tables and bench seating, and a service bar at one end. The patio sits between the Pub and the Touchstone brew house. Patio seating is a mixture of large picnic tables and more comfy padded patio style furniture. The service was friendly, knowledgeable and open to questions about the beer and facility. The day we visited, the beer offering ranged from light lagers, through numerous IPA's and a few Stout's. Although they don't offer flights, they do allow tasting to narrow your search for the right beer. Everything we tasted was clean and correct tasting for the style. I think they could pull back a bit on the IPA's and instead offer a couple of malt forward options to better round out the selection. Food was also excellent. We had the pretzel, the Tri-Tip Sandwich and a Pepperoni Pizza. Because the portions are generous, we took home a fair amount of the pizza. No lie, the crust is 1 1/2" thick, spongy bread. I'm not sure who's advising them on this stuff or where they get off on charging $40 for high school cafeteria pizza. I like to search for new breweries in the area every now and again. I've never heard or been to Touchstone and didn't really recognize even the address area. So off we go. Past a few winding streets, past a few sketchy blocks, we arrived. The first thing I noticed was the nice big spacious outdoor seating, long tables. They even have a small fire pit. I can see this a spot for big groups. Wasn't too busy, so ordering was fast. Interesting selection of beers, can't say I really recognized any. All new to me. I got The Approach. Ended sticking with that one. They have food, too, so I ordered the pizza (it's deep dish style). The pizza is square shaped with four slices. Very filling. I tapped out at 2 slices.
