First off their prices are high. I went in this morning to buy a beer because the liquor store is closed early in the morning of course. I get to the register and this heavy set white dude was standing there doing nothing. He looked in my direction and rolled his eyes and slowly made his way back to his register. Looked at me and said ID?? No greeting. No smile. Gave me the recipt and i left. I could tell not only did he hate his job, but he looked at me as if im some bum alcoholic. Fat boy i just got off work, and i want a beer. Dont treat me like trash when im a paying customer. Believe it i make way more than theyre paying you. Vent over. I have been buying cakes from this bakery for 5 years or more and as of lately the service and cakes have been horrible. I ordered a cake online last night only to find that the order wasn't received when I called this morning. Spoke to Patty she said she will have it done today. We pick up the cake and it looks nice. Cute into the birthday cake and it was hard, dry, and pretty much tasted like bread with frosting. It was obviously not fresh at all. So basically because their system didn't get the online order as they can't take orders by phone, we had to pay for a non fresh cake. The cake ended up in the garbage so be basically wasted our money. I called corporate and a supervisor was supposed to call me back. Didn't get a call . I sent an email with no response. Great Customer Service going through the line with a checker named JESSICA on Sunday afternoon, May 28th! I was in her line waiting and observing how she listened and answered customers ahead of me with a smile while not holding up the line, unlike other grocery checkers who take forever while answering a question and then start up their own conversation to where they just want to keep talking and talking. Maybe it is because in those checker's lives it is boring or they are lonely? Anyway, kuddos to checker JESSICA for being a Great multi-tasker who helped me through the line quickly. This year for Thanksgiving my family opted to have Raley's cater it. Wow...very well done. We don't have a single complaint about the food and, boy, was it ever nice not having to do any of the work! We'll definitely be back in future years. My only suggestion for Raley's management (and my reason for 4 stars rather than 5) is regarding deli staffing. There were 4-5 people working the deli when we arrived to pick up our food but only one of them was helping the line of Thanksgiving dinner customers. The poor guy was run ragged helping customers while the others just stood there doing nothing. Surely they could've helped him by retrieving the food while he rang people up. Also, since our cart did not go thru a regular register line (they rang us up at the deli), somehow it set off the alarm and the wheels locked up as we tried to leave. Someone could've warned us that would happen, especially when one of the employees told us it happens constantly. read more

Terrible Terrible Terrible. The produce is not fresh. See attached photos. Most of the produce is wilting, brown, and rotting. If I am paying $3 for a bunch of basil and $1.98 for 1 avocado it damn well better be good, and not on the verge of spoiling. The store is constantly out of basics. Graniac Bread, Dave's Killer Bread, Comfort Coop Eggs, Sunflower Seeds, Azumaya Lite Tofu, Bay Leaves, Men's Razors, and the list continues. I went today at 4:00pm on a Thursday and there were two dozen eggs left. One was cracked and the other's sell by date was three days ago. Way to go on the FIFO guys. Service is ranges from friendly to brusque. Friendly people will ramble on and banter with customers while their checkout lines are 5 people deep each. Brusque people will snatch coupons out of your hand and hurl your groceries down the lane. Overall: Either rude and fast service or friendly but slow service. Horrendously overpriced EVERYTHING. Spoiling, rotting produce. Inventory control problems aka never having anything in stock. Conclusion: Who is the QA for this store? Do you care? I will be so happy when I move and this will no longer be the closest grocery store for me. read more

Convenient location on Folsom blvd and next to my new gym . Makes it easier to get the workout in and jog over to get a few things for meal prepping ! The place looks a bit run down along with the Parking lot out front ... Sometimes I see sketchy characters hangin around out by the door . I want to give Raley's a big shout out for their Real Good produce program. Food magazine cover model produce are as rare as cover models among all us regular people. Just because a pepper or pear doesn't look picture perfect ideal doesn't mean it is less tasty or nutritious. But these less than picture perfect produce often gets picked out when packed for stores. Raley's is testing out a program at a limited number of stores (the Folsom Blvd. is one), where they sell produce that looks more like us regular folks at a discount. Food waste is a huge problem and there is just no reason why we need to have picture perfect produce all the itme. Come on people, go buy some of this regular looking produce and show that we are willing to reduce food waste at the farm. Support and applaud this effort and tell Raley's to spread to all the other stores. So far, they've offered plums, pears, red bell peppers in the Real Good produce bins. I've sought these out and they have not disappointed. The Real Good produce bins are over by the door at the freezer end of this store. read more

MULTIPLE THINGS TO BE THANKFUL FOR IN A MATTER OF SECONDS... Thank you Michael at Raley's on Folsom Blvd. Obviously its raining.. and I carry my groceries to my car and the bag falls while I'm opening the car door. 1. My wine bottle breaks. Well.... all of the liquid actually stays securely in the bag and doesn't drip through the bottom at all. 2. Within seconds, the cart guy (Michael) notices I broke the bottle and offers to run into the store for me and grab another bottle and bring it to my car for me. Horrible customer service, overpriced compared to many other stores, and shady people pan-handling outside most of the time. So why finally write a bad review? Because the customer service is the worst. I go (or rather went) there for monthly transit passes. Their customer service center is only open until 6, and twice this year I've been denied due to "technical issues". Both by the same employee, first due to the system just not working, and today because they ran out of paper for the connect... Electronic passes? Really?!? I think that overweight elderly woman with a child's voice is just technologically incompetent. I don't mind driving a few extra miles to go to the Save Mart down the street, they never gave any BS excuses and are happy to help as long as they're open. read more

I have a friend who is very handicapped and she can have very very hard times walking and we came to the store and one of the customer service people his name was Max he came into the store to get the driving basket for my friend not only did he take it out to the car he made sure that she was able to get in it and he helped her so much that it almost brought tears to my eyes because he was so sincere in his helping her and if there were more people like that That worked in stores like this then it would be such a better shopping experience and I read more

I have been shopping at this Raleys for 13 years but it has gone downhill lately. First they closed one of the entrances permanently so now it is chaos at the only entrance remaining. Now they no longer have hand baskets so if you want to buy just a few items you either have to get a cart or do a balancing act. I asked a cashier about this and he said it was because they were being stolen. How about hiring a security guard. Also a lot of homeless people hang around the entrance and the parking lot. Always have great service at this location. The lines are always short and there is always a lot of parking. Produce always fresh and the variety is awesome. Lots of healthy and organic choices and everything always in stock. They have so much stuff at this store! An entire pet area too. Special shout out today to the checker that helped me at check stand #9. I didn't get her name but her employee number is 521064 and she was so gracious to the older gentleman ahead of me in line when he was having an issue inserting his chip card. She was patient and helpful and showed him respect. Watching her work makes me want to be a better at my job. She was fast and efficient when she scanned my order too. I started shopping here about a month and a half ago because I was just fed up with the Safeway on Folsom which is less than a mile from me. Raley's is about 5 miles away from me. I've shopped different Raley's in the past and they are a tad more expensive but not like whole foods expensive. I've found this location to be very clean, staff are very friendly and helpful. I normally get fresh deli meat as opposed to packaged because they will slice it super thin just the way I like it. I've dealt with probably 5 different people in the deli section and every one of them were super friendly and polite. I'll continue to do my shopping here and just leave the "I need this now" things for Safeway since it's closer. read more

Okay so this review might make me sound very snotty so bear with me. I moved down to Sacramento from El Dorado Hills about 6 months ago. I LOVED my groceries stores up the hill. They were so nice and clean and it was so easy to find everything. Since I have moved down here to Sacramento I have had the hardest time finding a good place to shop. The Raley's and Safeway on Folsom Blvd are so awful. Dirty, ghetto and not a person to be found to help you. Wal-Mart is 10 times worse. The Safeway on Arden is not at all better. I always have to bag my own groceries because they never have enough help. They never have everything I need. This has been my number one complaint since we moved. I love to grocery shop and cook and it has really sucked to not find a store I like. Until now. This Raley's is awesome! SO CLEAN! SO HELPFUL! And they have everything! Including a drive-thru Starbucks in the parking lot. On the outside it doesn't look like much but it is really nice on the inside. They have a great natural foods section. From here on out this is my grocery store. And I couldn't be happier to have found it. read more

Never been to this before until a late night run came up with some friends. The staff was too worried about closing up instead of helping direct us to the juice. We would have been in and out a lot quicker if they had come to help out instead of standing there looking at us like they were bothered of our presence. One of the better Raley's stores around. Always clean, staff are very friendly, and there's a Peet's Coffee inside to boot. I would take 1/2 a star away at the deli, the employees there move like molasses; I'm talking DMV slow. I would say average wait time for a sandwich is about 15 minutes, although the sandwiches are very tasty. My strategy is to order the sandwich, go get coffee or go grocery shopping, then come back and pray to Buddha the sandwich is done. read more

I visited this store on the evening of Saturday March 25th. I counted 30+ people in line with only 2 cashiers and the self help machines. Ridiculously long wait for just a few items. I made the mistake of going to the women's restroom as well. It was disgusting! There are only 2 stalls and one toilet was clogged to the top. A broken dispenser, toilet paper all over the floor, supplies stacked up on the sink, and stains on the tiles. Disgusting is an understatement! So disappointed with this store! read more

We wanted to order a photo cake to celebrate our mom's 80th birthday, they told us they dont accept digital photo but only the real photo. So ok, we went home and ordered a real 4*6 piece of photo from target. Second day we brought the photo and ordered the cake. Everything was fine. The next day we picked up the cake- I was extremely disappointed! I thought the photo would be as big as the cake top surface (The photo albums in the store are like this. )but I was wrong, it was only as big as 4*6. It was such a tiny photo which only took a small space on the cake and wherelse were all blank. Nobody told us about this - they would only make photo on the cake as big as the size of photo you bring to them! My mom was upset so much because it looked so much like funeral photo, she throw the cake away immediately after a simple celebration. Second point is the cream on the cake are very roughly even. I've been shopping at this store for over 50 years... my mother brought me when I was little, and I've always lived somewhat close by since. My husband and I LOVE this store. We love the staff, especially the long time employees like Kelly. We love that we know the store, that the quality is always good, and that they carry Strauss plain yogurt. (Don't try it, it'll RUIN you for all other yogurt). It's as close to home as a grocery store can get. Yes the homelessness is a problem, (that's true everywhere), yes, it's TERRIBLE that they closed one of the entrances (thank you thieves) but it's still our Raley's. Their employees are diverse, helpful and kind, and we can always find what we're looking for. A+++ read more

In the next 10 steps towards the aisles about three employees greeted me. The shelves and aisles were well laid out and properly stacked to perfection. I was hurrying to check out at the self-check. I had requested cash back (which I don't usually do). In my rush, I left the money in the slot. As I was heading for the door I heard someone calling to me. A clean-cut young man said you forgot your money. I thanked him and tried to give him a tip. He said, "no I can't accept it." This is one of the best grocery stores I've ever been in as far as customer service and variety is concerned. The store is HUGE, and no matter what random item I might need, it seems that one of the employee's always seems to know where it is. It's also very clean and organized in here, which is a nice plus in any establishment that sells food. I have a few complaints thought. For starters, it's in a ghetto-ass location. I shop here once maybe every four weeks or so, and I always see these real loud, obnoxious homeless people everywhere. I'm glad they at least have security guards now. I've seen a brawl outside the store on one occasion and on another, some random dude in the store who was pretending to shop there was trying to run some scam on me to get "gas money". My other complaint is that the food here is REAL expensive. On more than a few occasions, I looked at a few items and thought they just must have been tagged incorrectly because they were WAY overpriced. But if you got the money, want variety and are a stickler for excellent customer service, this store would satisfy you. read more

I love this Raley's! Well, I only really regularly visit four places in this store. (1) Peets - The lady working there is very nice and makes delicious coffee drinks! (2) Post office - This store offers USPS Services from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.! Super convenient. (3) Sandwich counter - Big, delicious sandwiches. Enough for two meals. The workers are cool and don't mind customizing sandwiches for my demanding ass. (4) Hot foods counter - When I am having a rough day at work, I will get potato wedges and fried chicken for lunch. Comfort food for less than $3! I have also ordered a cake for a coworker's going away party here. They have a big selection of cake designs for all occasions. Awesome staff, (they have the most amazing customer service)! Great organic options, (far better than Safeway off Howe Ave). One day I left a bag of groceries at their store, no one turned it in, so they had no record of it being left there. I did not notice until the next day when I went to make dinner. I called them, told them the items that were missing, told them that I had already thrown away my receipt, and guess what . . . they told me to come right in and they would replace my items! I love this store. There is also a really awesome head clerk named Deidre. I really like her. She taught me how to sooth my 18 month old child that was in the middle of a tantrum. She's so cool. I like Raley's. The store is clean, the people are nice, and the food all looks good. The produce is fresh, the meat is good quality, and they have health and bulk foods. There's typically a higher end to their products and you have slightly more selection here than you would at a Safeway or Savemart. However, Raley's is really overpriced. It's not just this particular Raley's, as I've been to many others. The chain in general is pretty overpriced, which only echos the reviews of previous yelp reviews. This is the closest Raley's store to me. The lay out is a bit different than I am used to from shopping at other Raley's. However, I am learning to maneuver around it. The store is pretty busy. It is always clean, organized and the staff is friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable, probably not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. Good meat selection and produce selection. There is a hot wok in the store and a sandwich counter at the deli. I have hit both of these parts of the store up on my lunch and had no problem getting in and out. TIP: One thing I like to do is hit up the 98 cent store next door for some of the items on my list before going next door to Raley's. I went to Peets Coffee inside the Folsom Rayleys. I set my stuff down and used the restroom in the back of the store. When I came out some goofy looking doofus clerk came up behind me and asked me if I had taken groceries into the restroom. Shocked at his asinine question, I said no. I then went back to Peets coffee. On my way I asked to talk to the floor manager--who then sent the real manager, who apologized. Had I been profiled?? I will not be go backk to Rayleys at all for nothing!! NEVER. Stick your store and your goofy clerks where the sun doesn't shine. I will stick to my home store Save Mart!! I am unmoved by the response to my post. I will patronize the new Rayleys on Howe avenue and Fair Oaks and. again, NEVER patronize the Folsom store. They totally creeped me out!!! read more
