I Love the ease and convenience of this store. For the most part the quality is great. I was horrifically surprised however, that the Raley's Deli, pumpkin pies we purchased for Thanksgiving, didn't have the same quality crust as the quiches we have come to love. They were awful, and reminded me of a tough dog biscuit. I needed a hacksaw to cut through it. The custard was the only edible portion of the pie. Use the same pie crust as the quiche and you'll have a winner! read more

This store really saved us the night before Easter! Even though it's been a while I still wanted to write a review. My wonderful mother, who had been busy the day before getting things ready for the holiday, had forgotten to run and get the ham. She had tried the day prior to get one at Safeway but they were out. Raley's was about to close but they let us sneak in to purchase a ham and even browse a little bit. The lady who rang us out was really friendly even though I'm sure we made her stay a little later than she probably wanted to stay. Anyway, great selection and the prices were pretty decent as well! I have read a few of the other reviews, and I can agree that the store does not fit the "normal" gorcery store set up. Things can be hard to find if you don't already know where they are located. But, the employees are always nearby and are more than willing to help you find something. The prices are a little on the high side for most things, but the produce is out of this world, the meats are great, and the general look of the store is high end. Plus, they have a huge variety of wines and beers, as well as independent sodas that you don't normally see around. They also have an internet capability for ordering called Raleys Ecart (just look that up). On this site, you pick out what you want and build your virtual grocery list. Then, you submit this list and pick a time you want to pick it up. When it's your time, just drive into the eCart lane, press the button, and they bring your groceries out to your car, load them up for you, swipe your credit card, and your done! It has saved my family from picking up random things that we "need" while walking around the store. Finally, if you purchase more than $50, you get $.10 off a gallon of gas. More than $100, you get $.25 off a gallon, and more than $150 you will get $.50 off a gallon of gas! And their normal prices aren't all jacked up either. If the lowest in Reno/Sparks is $4.00/gal, Aisle 1 will probably be at $4.05. We usually order online through the eCart, pick up the groceries, then go to the gas station and fill up. read more

This review isn't really for the Raley's store. After all, if you've been to one major chain supermarket, you've pretty much seen them all. This review is for the selection of vegetarian and organic foods available at this Raley's - very good!! Just as good as what I find at Whole Foods/Wild Oats - lots of organic veggies and fruits and a very good dedicated section for non-meat specialty items (Amy's, Boca, Morningstar, rice milk, soy cheese, etc). And for less than I pay at WF/WO (not to mention less gas to get there). If you live in the North area of Reno/Sparks, and have difficulty finding decent organic foods and vegetarian items, give this store a look. read more

This is a nice clean store. Not sure about the way they organized it. Very confusing for my first time in this store. A big selection of products, not just food. They carry many other items as well. Their selection is not as big as a Wal-mart, but they do have more misc items than a Safeway. I only stopped in because I was driving by and needed to pick up few things for a Pot Luck at work the next day. The prices are pretty good if you find things you want on sale, otherwise they are a little more than other places, but the quality is there.. The great thing about the sales here is you do not need a card to get the sales price. For this I will watch their sales mailing more. read more

Home delivery was an epic fail! They delivered 2 of 8 items, late. I pd 15% tip which was $15 on my $100 order. They still took the $15 tip on what ended up being a $20 order and tried to tell me there was nothing they can do.... I also know the store well and did not believe the rest of the items were unavailable. Bradi spoke to Mario the manager and said I had checked no substitutions. I went to the store and got 4 of the remaining 6 they said were out of stock - no subs - exactly what Id ordered! UNBELIEVABLE!!! I asked for Mario and he tried to tell me the chix have been put out since - the box was marked 10:30!! (10-11 window) I'm 10 min away and driver was late - I even responded to the text saying they'd be late that it was okay bc I know chix aren't always out by 10:30... When Mario came out from the back and I showed him the cart, I asked it they just stocked the ice cream (exactly what I ordered) and filet mignon steaks in the half hour since they sent my order out??? He couldn't answer and said to call corporate (which I had said on the phone I'd be doing) he wasn't gonna stand there and be yelled at. I was NOT yelling but I get him needing to walk away as he looked ridiculous trying to continue telling me items weren't available... I called the 800 number back on the order and they reversed the tip easily but Clare totally disregarded that fact that they lied about what was available and were in fact just too LAZY or incompetent to fill it?!? This was my first and LAST home delivery with Raleys - hope I can spare others the same experience! read more

This has become my favorite store in the area. Not for the food or the products, but for the customer service. The entire staff works towards treating each customer as a friend. It's not selective and it's not forced, it's genuine. Over the past two years, I have managed to meet some very caring members of this team. I have watched them deliver the same care and concern and happiness to see each person come through their door. I come from a background with over 20 years in retail management. In order for this type of atmosphere to be present in the store starts from the top down. They have a great leadership team who lead by example and must show it to their employees too and daily. I've tried to go to other locations and even other companies, but no go. Love this store and team. It shows in all they do. Job well done. read more

I know the great service at the store when I stop by to purchase groceries ...... But lately I have been unable to actually go to store .... I used another food delivery service ...... at other stores ... but not quite the same. When I found out Raley's has their own delivery ( ECART ) and for only about $5 ( first time free ) I had to try it. It was wonderful. I could place order on line and note what to replace if out ....could make notes about address and time to deliver ... And when order was being filled they called to double check about replacements ... All in all a much better experience. The young man who delivered was prompt and friendly .... the items were sorted and dated well ahead ... and there was even a sample product in the bag. I will use again and stick with a known quality .... Since first time is free of delivery charge why not give it a try. read more

Online Shopping: I've been ordering Rayley's online delivery for at least a couple of years. Prior to that I shopped in store at Rayleys because it is right up the street. The service used to be good but has significantly declined the past year. I suspect COVID has something to do with the declined service, but I've given Rayley's several chances to 'get it together' to no avail. Considering Rayley's corresponding fees and high prices, even during "sales", I expect their services offered to be at least the same or better than competitors. Aside from high prices, modest selections and frequent late deliveries, my biggest complaint is the manner in which they treat substitutions when ordering online. You have the option of selecting to "allow substitutions" in case product is out of stock, however, you don't get to choose your substitutions. The shopper chooses for you. It's absurd to think a complete stranger can adequately choose what to buy instead. There is absolutely no consideration towards tastes, brands, allergies, budget... nothing! The shopper determines what to buy for you and you are charged whether you like their chosen items or not. This is unacceptable practice. (BTW, Insta-Cart allows you to choose your own substitutions and the shopper always texts if there are any problems.) You do have the option to not allow substitutions, but omitting items from a grocery list can really screw up planned meals. If Rayley's is unwilling to let their customers choose their own substitutions, then at least keep your website up to date so that we're not surprised with partial order fulfillment or crappy item replacements. Also, my tip is based on the cost of the order, just like in restaurants. I've often been stuck paying a large tip for tiny partial orders received because Rayleys was out of stock on so many NORMAL items. Prior to Covid, Rayleys used to notify you of out of stock items and gave you the opportunity to choose something else. They have since changed their policy. Why would they change such a policy?? Also, Rayley's charges $6.95 per order of $100 or more. If order is less, you get charged an additional shopper fee (I think it's $5.95). Other markets, such as Instacart & Walmart, have annual memberships for $98. With those memberships you pay NO order fee, NO shopper fee, and the minimum order is $35 for unlimited orders. Considering I shop weekly or bi-weekly, the membership options from competitors are far less expensive and I am not bound to the $100 min order. If you don't want to pay for a membership, you can pay $6.95 per order, like Rayleys, BUT there is no additional shopper fee and the minimum order is $35. I've since moved onto using another store via Instacart the past several months with no issues. None so far! Every now and then I will give Rayleys another shot and always let down for one reason or another. The last time I used Rayleys my delivery was scheduled for 6pm. It was delivered at 9:45pm... way past my bed time. Was I notified of being behind schedule? NOPE! This was no fault of the outsourced delivery service. This was Rayleys fault because they were so behind on orders that the delivery service wasn't even called until hours later. Additionally, 3 items were out of stock... brussel sprouts, frozen french toast and frozen egg mcmuffics. Was I notified? NOPE! So basically, I had no quick breakfast food before work. Today I tried Walmart's 30-day free trial. I got to choose my own substitutions during my online shopping. Also, I later received a text and an email of substitutions for final approval. There was only 1 item, bananas, that I declined to substitute. Everything else was EXACTLY what I ordered. I also price compared to Rayleys. My gawd, prices were a fraction of the cost on nearly everything! Same brand, same quantity. I've never been a fan of Walmart, but I can see why there are so many Walmart shoppers. I prefer convenience over price and now that Walmart offers same day grocery delivery, I think they've gained a new customer... unfortunately. read more

I love this Raley's, it is always clean welcoming, and has a beautiful produce department and an amazing bakery! Speaking of the bakery... ROBERT PETERSEN and the bakery team are SUPERSTARS! They created a beautiful and clever birthday cake for my son who is a new dentist in town. This is my favorite store to shop for my groceries. I use the online store to shop for my groceries and pick it up at the Sparks location. I really like shopping at Raleys. While it can be a little on the spendy side you can always buy the "rayleys" brand to save a little bit of money. I really love their organic and health food section. I find most everything I need there. One thing I think the store is missing is a small homeopathic remedies section with essential oils and stuff like that. They have a really nice bakery. I bought some bagels the other day, they were very tasty! They even have a guy in there making sushi rolls! On the side of the deli they have a little sandwich place I've been wanting to try. One of these days I'll get over that way and write a review about it! :) The fresh produce section has a pretty good variety of fruits and veggies. I bought some purple cauliflower that I can't wait to steam up. Purple is my favorite color! The employees are pretty nice and work diligently to keep up the store and keep the shelves stocked. read more

What can I say, I absolutely love shopping at Raley's!! I don't care that their prices are a tad higher than other stores. The atmosphere and clientele is exquisite and relaxing. You can find things easily, the staff are polite and professional, their meat and produce are fresh, and I love that I can call ahead and request cuts of meat to be packaged and marinated for free!! pretty much the same store it was four years ago when I last wrote a review. we do not go here much now since we now live in the other side of reno. well we were in the neighborhood and my sister wanted to get a couple of steaks for her husband and she for dinner. So as we were wandering around I look at a variety of things and am just amazed at the prices. one small piece of cake not a whole, half or even a quarter of a cake and they are asking $7.50. one must really like cake to pay such a price. I can make a nice big cake that tastes much better for that price. So we are still wandering and I am still being shocked. We get to the fish counter which seems pretty full of fish, it all looked a bit wrinkled like has been there a while, who knows. But what I want to know what do you folks do with all the fish no one is buying because of the ridiculous per pound prices, toss it out the back for the stray cats? went to the little area where there were slot machines. A wonderful lady ask us if we would like a drink, no thank you I said. she showed me how to get the right sreen to the slot machines. I put a $20 in and started to spin the wheels... I got to a bonus screen and had to pick a golf ball and a gopher came up to tell me what I won. I picke.d all the right things and won $259.50 I cashed out and gave her around $50-$60 for tip....she appreciated it and was so glad because her daughter is taking her to Hawaii. nice wonderful people get great rewards. read more

I love the service from raleys. The pickers call me when something is out of stock or their unsure. It always amazes me that they can't take the time to do that and get my order correct. After dealing with very rude, and uncaring pharmacy staff at Walmart , my Dr. had to call my prescription in Raleys . when I arrived I was having a lot of pain and the staff here was so nice to me and had already started to get my prescription ready for me. I had just had a surgical procedure and my original prescription had been faxed to Walmart . when I got to walmart the woman was very rude and stated their fax lines had been down for a few minutes and my order hadn't come through . I explained how important it was to have my mediaction and it was now after 5:00. She very rudely said " to bad, call your Dr. in the morning". I could not believe they could be so rude to a customer. I was very happy and impressed with Raleys pharmacy staff. For now on I will continue to go to Raleys read more

It seems like almost every time I go here, the workers just seem inconvenienced by you stepping foot into the store. One in particular, I believe her name was Angie, or something close to that. She checked me out, and seemed absolutely miserable. Not only to be there, but possible to even be alive. And me being myself, and trying to kill em with kindness, really seemed to just put her over the edge. Not saying that I won't ever go back here, but I think some of these employees could at least fake a smile once in a while. read more

I went to raley's tonight at 10:50 pm looking to buy Theraflu tea and didn't find it, I end it up with robitussin. When they announce last page to go and pay, I head over to the register and Ashley B asked me: Did you find everything ok? My answer was: No, I couldn't find the Theraflu tea and her unexpected answer was: Oh I'm sorry. And I just paid and walked. The door was closed and Another ladie by the name of chelsey run to open the door for me and she asked me the same question I respond the same way, I did not find the Theraflu tea, her answer was: Oh I know where is that! I was happy and I asked her: can you please help me get that as well? She responded: yeah but some other time because we are now closed while another customer was checking out with Ashley..When you are sick and nobody is willing to help you get what you need to get better, just make me more sick :( read more
