This review is based solely on my shopping experience at Raley's at the Spanish Spring location today... It's 88 degrees out today. When I arrived at the store I was thirsty so I went to the Peet's Coffee counter and asked for a water. The barista's first response was, "Are you going to buy anything?" I had a cart full of groceries in front of me so I feel it was pretty clear I was a paying customer to the store. I said I was grocery shopping and would be happy to pay for the ice water. The employee flatly refused to sell me water citing some bologna company policy. Later, as I was going to the check stand to pay, I asked an employee if I could speak to a manager. She presented herself as such (though I don't think she was a manager). I relayed the information and she informed me that no policy exists. With that knowledge, I again went to the Peet's counter and asked for ice water. The barista went and got an actual manager who presented me with a bottle of cold water; however, once again they flatly refused - REFUSED - to sell me ice water. This was after I had purchased over $60 worth of groceries. While I appreciate that the world does not owe me anything, water included. I am flabbergasted that I could not purchase ice water at a business that gives it away free with the purchase of a coffee or pastry. I cannot imagine that Raley's profit margin is so slim that they can't afford to sell their customers iced water. Next time I'll stop at the Starbucks across the parking lot, pick up a FREE iced water, and take my business down the road to Smith's. Also, what kind of company refuses to sell water to a thirst patron on a hot, summer day!?! Even if I were homeless and my sole intent was to stop at Raley's just for water, it seems that the decent thing to do is sell (or give) the person some water. read more

Two out of three checkout clerks today had their masks under their chins. So I had to search for a clerk that was wearing their mask appropriately. Sorry, Raleys, but you really need to get your clerks to obey the current mask guidelines or I'll stop shopping in this store. read more

If a store closes at 9pm. Are they allowed to turn you away at 8:55pm, even though you wanted one thing? Well imagine that happening at 2:55 on Thanksgiving. I get it, everybody wants to go home and working the holiday is tough, I should know, I did it for years. And when I did, I was courteous. I did not reject people at the door coming in for a single item that they obviously forgot, especially when I see these people almost daily. Do I blame the store? Probably not. The manager finally rescued me as I was heading into the parking lot very pissed off, but by then I had already been set off. I just think it's one of those things they should have down. There should not be a pimple face teenager blocking my path five minutes before the store actually closes telling me to go away, when I don't think the management at the store would concur. But it's on them to make sure they don't have these kids causing me stressful and embarrassing moments. That's why I pay way more to shop there! And also--this store cannot keep my product ZEVIA drinks stocked. I have asked repeatedly, and now two holidays in a row they run out of these drinks (and numerous times throughout the year). The store needs to address it, but every time talk to someone, it's always someone new and we start all over. Ridiculous---KEEP ZEVIA STOCKED!!! Maybe now they will hear me. On the positive, they hired a man named Roger who was SUPER nice and helpful selecting wines for my clients. Thanks Roger. read more

Rude cashiers, just walked out of here. Literally had a cashier not bag my items which was weird but he literally just tossed them my way. Why come back here and waste my money. This is one of the cleanest, most well stocked stores I have ever seen. Now I usually don't like to shop at expensive stores, but I did find this worth it. The employees were smiling, and singing as they did their jobs. The music was pleasing. Store was clean as a whistle. I actually felt at ease, and wasn't overly crowded or busy. If you want to be in a pleasing atmosphere the this Raleys is the one for you. I will definitely be back. read more

I shop here because it's the closest store to home. Prices are outrageous as stated in other reviews. 8.99 for a lunch size serving of Mac and Cheese. Nearly 13 dollars for 8 chicken strips at the deli which were dried out completely. I ordered 2 sandwiches from the deli as well...I had to order triple the guacamole just to cover 1 piece of bread. Subway is a goldmine compared to this store. No wonder nobody was in line to order a sandwich at 12 pm during the heart of lunch time. I try to give this place chances, but it's always the same. You're better off using Smiths or Walmart. This store completely takes advantage of the hard working people living nearby. read more

Where do I begin? This is not just your typical grocery store... with such friendly and helpful staff, great rewards, and amazing product options, I never find myself dreading a trip to the grocery store. I live extremely close to the store and may end up there more times in a week than most people, but they always have what I need and are ready to help me find something I may not have known I needed! Raley's is definitely my favorite neighborhood grocery store! read more

We have used this store as our primary shopping location for the past 4 years. Up until recently it has been amazing, always clean and pleasant. Within the past six months or so we have noticed a significant change. Almost every shopping trip we get home with at least one item that is expired. Last night was a boxed soup that expired in July. Customer service has also taken a downward turn. Staff used to greet you cheerily and now I'm often made to feel like an inconvenience. I'm writing a review in hopes positive change may come from it. This store has potential but maybe is in need of new management. read more

Poor customer service, not staffed appropriately. Even at non peak times, they never seem to have enough checkers or baggers. I often end up bagging my own groceries so the rest of the line usnt waiting one one checker to do it all. read more

We have moved from California to Nevada 5 months ago and began shopping at Raley's since it's closer to where we live. The convenience of the store is great. However, my family and I were shopping today and I've come across a worker talking down to his employees. I believe his name is Larry. I've seen this man several times and this is not the first time I've seen this exact situation. I felt awfully bad for the employee being talked down on. This is truly unprofessional. I don't want my kids seeing this type of behavior during grocery time.I hope I don't get to see this type of behavior any time soon. Please fix this. Other than that, the employees are all so wonderful and kind. Plus, the store is spectacular and clean. Front end is amazing and always helps my family if we have a problem! read more

This store is pricey, but so conveniently located. It's always clean and well stocked! The staff is very helpful and friendly. Especially the courtesy clerks! Another thing I love is that they send you really good and personalized coupons. We've gotten about 3-5 free items in the last 6 months and it's stuff they know we like/buy. Oh and another great thing is their produce is the best. Fresh and always in good shape! I'll keep coming to Raleys! read more

The other day I got home to realize I bought expired products!! Today At 8pm they were taking all the tri tip and rotisserie chicken back to the deli because they do this every 4 hours for proper temperature/ food safety which I understand but nothing was left for purchase and I caught them just as they were taking them back and they said they didn't feel comfortable giving me on which I again understand but they were all just being thrown in the garbage. What a waste. Never have anything decent in the bakery just pre frozen crap. The meat department is lacking as well. Would be nice to have something else besides Harris ranch gross meats. Really sick of the lack of anything worth the money Raleys charges. The only thing you seem to keep over stocked is your liquor. Basically a glorified liquor store. Pretty sad. Might as well allow smoking and black Jack. Nothing fresh about this place at all! Rather shop at any other store! read more

I came in to the store for ideas of grabbing some lunch, I went to the deli and found the most friendly woman there to greet me with a warm smile, Melanie was very friendly and made me and my coworker the best , most delicious sandwiches that we've had in a while! Last six months the store has tanked. Inventory has not been restocked. Or not purchased. Groceries I have bought there for years are not on the shelf and just two days ago I left an empty cart in the aisle because they had nothing I was looking for in stock. Out of frustration I bought some cookies on the way out. Tonight I noticed they seemed stale. Expired over a month ago!!! I only give two stars instead of one because the employees are the best you could find. read more

Seems like I am here almost everyday. Good selection of organic vegetables and employees are very helpful. There is a US bank and a Peets coffee. I always get the meatloaf and chicken meals when I don't feel like cooking. They now have fresh sushi which is little on the expensive side but its good. read more

Whenever we are in town visiting my aunt, we spend a lot of time at Raley's - grabbing stuff we might have forgotten, buying lunch/dinner stuff or getting snacks for when we get back on the road. The store is in a great location, it's not hard for us to find being that we aren't from the area. It's a huge store and they have everything you need. I have been meaning to write this review for sometime. There is no doubt in my mind that Raley's has the worst quality meat of any supermarket in Sparks. This especially applies to anything on sale! We have been living about 5 minutes away for 3 years and have been continuously disappointed. After purchasing multiple beef roasts that are tough when cooked and recently, a turkey that turned out to be stringy, tough, and old, we are completely disgusted and are now driving the extra couple of miles to Smith's or Safeway. Who does the meat department think they are fooling? The other issue is with the bakery. Whole pies are cut in half when they expire and resold as "half pies" with new expiration dates. All of the half pies have ended up in the garbage at our house. They are dried up and old. When we try to complain to a manager, there is never one available, and we end up talking to a kid who doesn't know anything! Raley's is in a nice area of Sparks and should learn to respect their customers. We do not want below-grade meat and old bakery goods. We want quality food for our families like the other local grocery stores are selling. Fire the management and bring in people who care about their customers and the food quality!!! read more

This is a very Whole Foods type Natural Market. The layout and Decor of the supermarket makes it easy to shop in and the selection matches that of other natural foods and Supermarket stores in town. Nice place to have when you live such a ways away from the rest of town and other shopping. read more

This is my favorite Raleys in the Reno/Sparks area. It is so clean and well stocked. They have a large variety of pretty much anything there. The clerks are really helpful and friendly and always know where things are if you can't find them. They have some really cool garden stuff and flowers as well. The parking lot is pretty easy to get in and out of. I just wish it was a little closer to my home. read more

Traveling through Sparks from out of town and needed to make a quick stop for drinks etc. We also decided on a couple of sandwiches. Drake, at the counter, was super cool, made great sandwiches and helped us with directions. If he is representative of the company then I am even more impressed with Raleys!!! read more

Week long softball tournament in Reno/Sparks brought us here. This Wingfield Hills Road is about a mile to the softball/baseball complex we were at (we were at the fields on four different days.) We used to live in the Bay Area and have always enjoyed shopping at Raley's grocery stores. We went here four times in a three day span (bought lunch, snacks, drinks etc). I bought an item and decided it wasn't going to work and took it back to the store. The assistant manager was rude and condescending in language and physical expressions. She said,"This item is garbage to us if there is no tag." I wasn't aware of this policy and if she didn't want to approve the return, then she could have told me so. (We did have the receipt as it was purchased earlier in the day.) That is the last time I will go to Raley's grocery stores. I also went back to the softball fields and told everyone what happened. A lot of us had gone there for groceries during the week. Wish we would have gone elsewhere. read more

Like all Raleys they are more expensive than other stores but they are close and clean and have great fresh meat.

Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. Always clean and never too busy. Check out the cheese bar near the deli. Only problem with this raleys is during the winter it sometimes closes really early. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this location! I've called on two separate occasion for "last minute" cakes. The bakery has gone above and beyond to make sure they were PERFECT! I now buy all of my bakery items here. The bakery is always spotlessly clean, fully stocked and the prices and taste is Amazing! I also started buying my meat here. The prices again, are amazing, the meat is always tender and full of flavor. I appreciate how this store cares about the customer need and want for good food items, most stores don't. I never have any issues visiting this location. This location is by far THE BEST GROCERY MARKET IN ALL OF RENO/SPARKS! Thanks for taking care of the community and customers! I recently used the eCart online service, and had a great experience here as well! The woman who brought out my groceries was extremely friendly, and even loaded the groceries into my car with me! Very nice store. Has sushi and all sorts of cool stuff. Sometimes the date codes aren't on the meat packages. They sharpen knives for free. The prices here are too high, so that's why I don't shop here. read more
