I notice a new DTLR store in the corner of a small shopping plaza next to a grocery store. I Busted a u turn and came in. I wasn't greeted immediately. And while looking over sneakers they had on sales, it took a minute for someone to come over and ask if we needed any help. It was only one other couple in the store at the time. So! After looking for about 10 minutes I had to go to the counter and ask for help. Soon after Ms. Shirley came from the back to assist us with trying on some sneakers. She was very nice and patient with us being undecided about what we wanted. I eventually chose one pair as well as my boyfriend. Checking out I had to ask if they gave military discounts. Shoot...... I try get as much discount on anything I can. I don't know the gentleman's name who checked us out but he was great also. I just hope this store last in this area. I can see there are more stores coming back to East St. Louis sense the last time I came back. It's not a lot to choose from here. Finally a woman's boutique had returned to Red Bud, IL. Two hard working 20 something's started…read morethis business online about a year ago, and decided it was time to open a store front. They are two friends from high school who realized a need for women in a small town, or was it that they were from a small town. It started out online, selling a few dresses, some blouses and leggings. They listened to their customers and added scarfs, shoes, boot socks, headbands, hats, etc.... Once again customers asked if they had thought of opening a store front, that way one could try on the items and really do some browsing. I know I shop better in person then on line. On Saturday March 22, 2104 a grand opening was held. People were waiting in the parking lot and the store quickly filled up. Brown and pink bags were happily toted out of the store with some happy women. The owners were overwhelmed with the response. These two ladies are still working their full time jobs, so they are thinking the hours will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday night from 5 to 8 pm and Saturday 8 to 2. They still have their website and are going to be adding more summer time apparel. Stop and shop if you are close to Red Bud.
