i used to go here all the time, and i've never had a bad experience with a worker. they're very organized and efficient, and the store never looks dirty. Plato's, in general, has gotten a lot more littered with unsustainable fast fashion brands like SHEIN which Plato's encourages, but that's a problem with the company and not the employees or location. if you're looking for trendy secondhand clothes, especially for teen girls, this is a great option! read more

I drop clothes off at 11 o'clock at this location, they told me 3 to 4 hours. It was almost 5 hours and they still didn't have the stuff done. I went in to look while I waited and I went to check out and the workers were saying my name while finishing my clothes. Very unprofessional and rude. Would not recommend this location read more

We go in with a large box of clothes the yesterday. We're told it's a two hour wait, and they would text us when our clothes are ready. They text my boyfriend last night saying it was ready. I thought this was a convenient thing to have. Today the boyfriend goes to pick up and finds out they refused everything because they went through and ran across a spider. Um. Hello. You do realize we live in Southern Illinois, where we're surrounded by fields and fields of SPIDERS? I won't do any business here. Savers it is, if not online. And companies wonder why people are flocking to online businesses. Waste of gas. Btw, this isn't my first bad experience w them. This thrift store generally has a large inventory of high quality items from brands like Colombia, Victoria's Secret, Nike, ect. I shop here pretty regularly since all of what they have is good quality and nice. They sometimes do sales but it I wish they did more. I really scored some good deals during their summer clearance sale. Expect pricey items like North Face jackets to run about $45 and other major brands to be on the higher end. A nice thing they do now it post pictures of certain items on Instagram and let you comment on the post to hold a certain item. My only complaint with this place is the customer service. On most occasions when I have been here the staff seems more interested in chatting among themselves than helping customers. It is great that they are all friends but at the same time there are customers waiting to be helped. Overall this is a solid place. read more

This location is enormous and has a huge selection. I can generally find what I'm looking for, if I have something specific in mind. The store is clean and well organized and texts me with special offers. I think a lot of shoppers expect a lot for a little but don't realize that businesses like this one can't turn a profit if they give away their inventory. I'm happy to pay less than new prices any day for something gently used! read more

Terrible service. I visited this location not once but four times in a week and was told they were not accepting clothes at this time. Before each visit I called to confirm they were accepting clothes and was told the day before to come back the next day. The staff were very rude and unprofessional. Plato's Closet used to be affordable with their prices at their old location; but since they've moved to the new location they are really expensive now. In some cases you're better off going to the mall to purchase the things they offer. If you're looking to sell your gently used items and want bang for your buck, try using Poshmark or some other online sales site. This place will give you next to nothing for your items, even if the item is fairly new or designer. Wouldn't really recommend this place unless they have a really good sale. read more

Ive always heard that Platos closet will take name brand items, so i decided to take 3 bags of hardly worn clothes in. BKE, Miss Me jeans, PINK tops, Hollister Hoodies...only for them to buy about 5 mens tshirts (Carbon brand from rue 21) I was almost in shock. Needless to say, do not waste your time and energy bringing in your nice clothes, because honestly they took the stuff i didnt think they even would... Awful staff. Very rude, impatient, and just simply overall bad at customer service. They wouldn't answer any of my questions. Gave me 10$ for THREE garbage bags full of clothes. Mostly on brand clothing ( like lulu lemon, american eagle, abercrombie etc.). Go to savers it's way better. read more

Really rude sales clerk. I witnessed a sales clerk be very rude and unprofessional to someone bringing clothes in for resale. If you dont wish to purchase someone's clothing fine, but no need to be rude and condescending. It was a real turn off for everyone there. Love Love this Plato's Closet in Fairview Heights! I always see so many nice things, not all in my size bummer. You can tell they buy only the best of the best. We have been to Platos in other states, this is one of the largest and most organized. I scored again. I got nikes worn once, shorts, tanks, tee, sandals and a NF jacket. The workers are always friendly and very helpful. We would definitely recommend. My daughters always find what they want here. read more
