Great service and they have great sales, so the value of Macy's is great. Very attentive workers in Intimates and ladies dresses.

Short: Ordered furniture at end of December 2020- now being told August 24, 2021. 8 MONTHS waiting on furniture. Details: Ordered a sectional a the end of December. We were told by the Macy's sales associate that it would be a while before it arrived- maybe April or May. Received an email in February from Macy's stating they would let me know when my furniture was in the warehouse. Seems like all is moving along & would arrive about April/May...the same time we were told by the Macy's associate at time of order because expected delivery times is often a deciding factor when people are purchasing furniture. At the end of April- I decided to check in on my order and was told the order was now expected at the end of August. Eight months waiting on furniture!? We expected a delay of about 3 maybe even 4 months due to COVID, but after being told April/May and then doubling the wait time without a word is BAD BUSINESS. Was sooo happy to find a sectional big enough for our family & within budget, however, this ordeal is Definitely leaving a very bad taste for Macy's. In fact- after we get our furniture, hopefully in August- this will be the last thing we ever buy here (if they don't go out of business first). Especially after being told we lose the deposit if we cancel our order. If we find a couch we like that's deliverable before August, it will be worth the loss or small claims court (I got time) or the CC bank will eat it, and Macy's can stick the couch you know where. It will be in stock for the next sucker. More informative updates and more accurate estimations of delivery time from sales associates on our furniture would've avoided this. We ordered this based on an April/May delivery- NOT August. read more

I love me some Macy's. I especially love the Backstage section, which is basically a miniature TJ Maxx. I can always find solid bargains here, including a brand of polos called Michael Brandon which fit great and are really inexpensive ($10-$12). Last time I visited, I got a pair of dark wash jeans for $9.99 -- cheaper than Old Navy. That said, I'm only giving four stars because the clothes aren't always merchandised properly, leading to occasional frustrations. Last time I tried to buy ties from the $9.99 table (can you tell I like a bargain?), and they rang up $19.99. They wouldn't give me the lower price, so I passed. But all in all, I'm a fan of this Macy's location. read more

Stopped in during my lunch hour to return an online purchase. Apparently I wasn't the only one with that idea because there was quite a line at the service desk nearest to the door I parked. After a short wait I was able to return my online purchase and then I was on my way. In general Macy's keeps their stores in order but this one definitely didn't have the selection that West County or the Galleria has. read more

If you've driven I-64 through Fairview Heights, then you may have seen the Jetsons-like cupola at the northwest corner of St. Clair Square Shopping Center. The cupola sits atop the second floor of Macy's, allowing light to stream down over the fragrance counters. Steps away you'll find perhaps the largest men's clothing department in the Metro East. You can spend a long time moving from section to section and designer to designer. But you probably want to do it during a sale day. The natural light is lovely, and the perfumes intoxicating, but not lovely or intoxicating enough to convince me to pull the purchase trigger on an $89 Nautica Polo. Therese H. and I found a few more reasonably priced items, and her Macy's card discount eased the sticker shock. read more

I was in Macy's went to 3 registers and they all closed and then they just turned the lights off on us. Cashier said that the registers turn off at 8pm so she couldn't complete my transaction. I will go to St. Louis next time. read more

This was an okay Macy's. Big department store. Not the biggest nor the best Macy's I have seen. Staff was okay.. Layout and selection was okay as well. Nothing fancy. Didn't feel like it was super clean or upkept, but it was good enough for me to finish up some Christmas shopping. read more

This use to be an over the top awesome and clean macys!!! whenever Rob was the store manager...he made sure their store was in check. after he left a few years back...it fell below the average Macy's....they need to do a bit of renovating. This store is old and still looks the same from 10 years ago. The employees here...well some to most absolutely suck! they have no customer service what so ever. I've seen many employees here that have been working here for many moons and they're still miserable. if you don't like your job...quit and go find something else....don't lash out on customers. read more

Dear Macy's, I have been a customer of Macy's for over 35 years. I have also carried your credit card for that length of time. When times were tough for Macy's, I purchased products that I could have bought somewhere else for less. I purchased merchandise to help support a great institution. You are now stating that you are changing the way in which you support your employees to me more "inclusive". The Macy's that I grew up with and supported over the years, should have already been treating all of their employees with dignity and respect. If it took the destruction of your flagship store to fix injustices in your companies culture, this is not a company that I want to do business with in the future. My credit card is now in many pieces in my trash. read more

I shop at Macy's for most items for my family. They usually have it in stock and ships fairly quickly because I am an online shopper. If it doesn't fit though, they have a section for returns. I love the discounts as well.. my go to store! read more

That new girl at the Lancome counter with the long hair was awesome! I came in for Christmas to order my wife some makeup and she ask me if she shopped there before and I said yes. She immediately went into the database to look up my wife's information and not only was I able to buy her makeup, I bought other items that my wife buys from Lancome. She knows her stuff. My wife was impressed and thought I paid detailed attention to her most delicate needs. I really do and thanks for the Lancome lady for making me look good. She is funny too! I laughed the whole time I stood at the counter. We need more customer service rep like her, I would have bought everything at her counter if I had the money to make her look good as well. I will be there to order again for next Christmas! I hope she is there. read more

This is a pretty good Macy's. The men's department is usually well organized and clean. My wife loves the purse selection as well as spending our money in the women's department. Overall, the prices are moderate. Sometimes you can find really good deals while I did see a $120 tie. Really? Who pays $120 for a firkin tie? I haven't found any issues with the quality of thier products. read more

I would like to take note of the great service provided me by Stepannie in the Men's Dept. I was trying to buy sa pairof men's pants but my size was not readily in stock. She search her data base and finally found a pair that was my size and in the color I had wanted. She apologized for the time but I told her I was very thankful to have found a pair of pants that I needed for a talk. Thank you for having such a great employee who is a decided asset to your store. I like this Macy's, and have shopped for myself there often. Today, I went there shopping for men's boots. I had done my research, and with my male companion in hand, and a list of boots to try on, we headed for men's shoes. The men's shoe department is dreadful. There is not much in the way of selection, especially for boots, which one would think they might have a little more in stock this time of year. There was nothing in leather with a shaft of more than 4- 6 inches that was designed to be much more than pretty. There was 1 pair of boots with an 8 inch shaft. They were Polo's. Macy's will sell just about anything online. You just can't go to this particular store to look at them, or establish a fit. We were in the men's shoe area for some time, waiting for an employee to pass near or in the area. Did not happen. I called Macy's and spoke with a man named Devin. Was he ever nice. He arranged for some type of manager to come over and help us out. We waited some more. My fella got sick of waiting. How hard does it have to be, or how long should we wait for someone to come and help us try on a pair of shoes? I called Devin back as we were headed out to the car. That kind man offered to have someone else meet us in that area. I had to turn him down, as my fella was tired and had to leave. He has MS. He can't stand around waiting. He can't sit around waiting. He does not have the energy to spare. Macy's wasted our time. Macy's wasted HIS time and effort to get to their store, to select a product, to try something on, and to hopefully fill a need. Macy's was a bit rude today. Except for Devin. He was very polite, and willing to do what he could to help us. He didn't miss his marks, and was so very nice. I think if he could have, he would have come and assisted my man. This was a frustrating and disappointing visit to this store. Macy's, your men's shoe department in Fairview Heights is a desert. You offer so many womanish shoes there, so many shoes that are supposed to look good, but are not comfortable, nor of any particular quality. Looking at your selection, one might think that no men in the area exert themselves out of doors, or only walk in the mall. I am quite sure Macy's delights in it's online sales. When considering a sale online of something like shoes, generally someone wants to try them on to ensure a good fit, at some point. We were able to go elsewhere to meet my guy's need. DSW filled that bill, and we paid less there than we would have spent had we accepted one of Macy's online offerings, and got enough reward points to cut the cost of the next pair, considerably. Their store offerings aren't all that either, but they had the one thing that filled a need. Macy's in Fairview has a wasteland of women's shoes. Their men's department is just a waste. read more

I bought a pair of Rampage boots at Macy's recently. I was told that they were leather..but I do not believe they are. They DO have some sort of leather smelling chemical or product on them that is actually very strong and nauseating. I wore them to a meeting tonight that was held in a small room and I became very uncomfortable due to the strong odor of these boots. They have an overwhelming strong, fake leather smell to them. The boots come up to your knees and I could actually feel my knees aching...not sure if related to boot but I do wonder. My night was ruined just the same. I am wondering if anyone else has had this happen? I will be returning them tomorrow or maybe I should have them checked out to see what sort of chemical is on them, seriously! read more
