I love that it's open until 1am. You never know when you'll need to bake that last minute cake for your office potluck that you forgot about until you're about to go to bed at 12am. I like that it's a clean market, and the staff is friendly for the most part. At the very least, they aren't rude :P Oh and they have a RedBox! Great for last minute movie nights. read more

This particular Ralph's is located inside the plaza with the Pizza 90, the McDonald's, and the Mooyah. It has a standard layout with the produce being on the right side when one enters and the clearance stuff being in that area around the back of the store. There was a medium amount of clearance stuff there this time. The staff was nice to us during our visit. There were sufficient checkouts for us to conduct our transaction without delay. read more

While shopping today April 8th at Ralphs Alton Square store in Irvine I very accidentally banged my forehead on the handle of my shopping cart while bending over to retrieve a product. This resulted in a sizeable gash in the which in turn brought with it some significant bleeding. Not realizing the extent of the impact I went to the men's room and realized I was bleeding quite a bit. Soon there was a knock on the doore by an employeed whose name is Jacob. I saw what was going on and immediately set out to get a chair and assorted bandages, antiseptic and other needed things to help clean up the area and stem the flow of blood. His help was nothing short of above and beyond and so much appreciated. In addition other employees came by to offer help and unfortunately I do not have their names. To me this was so impressive and helpful that it mandated that I write this review NOW. It is evident that this Ralphs employs some very caring individuals. I have been shopping at this local Ralphs market for 20 years and have only experienced fresh and well priced products and a professional staff. I wanted to acknowledge also their employees' honesty: After shopping last evening I somehow left my wallet behind; I believe in a shopping cart in the parking lot. When I returned to the store after about 20 minutes to I inquire about my lost wallet. After & describing it to the employee at the managers desk, my wallet was returned to me along with the nearly $200 in cash it contained. So very grateful to everyone at Ralphs, Alton Pkwy, Irvine! They have a cashier named Michael who is a millennial that has about the same people skills as my refrigerator he was incredibly rude and unfortunately is too ignorant to even realize just how rude he is however I approached the manager Renee who certainly cares about the people shopping in the store and she immediately rectified the issue and went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. Thank you for showing me that stores still care about the customers that keep them profitable and allow them to have jobs. Michael I get it that your Mommy and Daddy coddled you to the point that feel you are incredibly important however they were to busy working t their "JOBS" to actually teach you any people skills and why in fact although you're important to them the rest of the world knows you're a jackass. Came into Ralph's and Mark at the hot food section was extremely rude. They didn't have the proper container for the hot food so he put the Mack and cheese in very small containers. I asked for an extra side to make up for the small containers and he replied with you only get 2 sides. I don't care that I would get extra but the way he said it was not right. He acted like we were in prison and I was an inmate trying to steal a piece of meat. My job is extremely focused of customer service and this guy had none of it. He then proceeded to run to his managers and point me out making it extremely uncomfortable to be in there. I will not be returning to this store to which I have been coming to for a long time investing my money. I will be contacting corporate and the Irvine Company where this Ralph's is located. read more

Not sure how to explain this but I'm here EVERY day after I leave my office and at times I'll even go twice a day. As you can imagine, I know most of the staff and they ALL make me feel like family. If you're ever in the area and need to pick up a few things, this is your place. Clean isles and facilites, recently renovated and a great selection of just about every necessity for every occasion. So...Ev sends me this grocery list of stuff I have to pick up for dinner that night, and on the list is roasted chicken for, Gelson's. OH YEAH!!! I love Gelson's. So, all afternoon, I'm drooling all over myself thinking about the lemon-garlic-herb-roasted chicken. See? I'm drooling now, just writing about it. So you may be thinking, "And, why is he writing about Gelson's roasted chicken...on a review for Ralph's?" Hold on, we're getting there. I get there..to Gelson's and they are out lemon-garlic-herb-roasted chicken. "AW, MAN!" Bummed, I stand there looking into case that has 2 bbq roasted chickens that look more like 2 bbq covered lava rocks. I stand and stare, wishing. Damn, now what? Albertson's! Albertson's chicken is never as good as Gelson's, but trick it! I want lemon-garlic-herb-roasted chicken! And.....they're out too. DAMN IT!! sigh.... RALPHS!!! Head on over.... Now...before we continue this story/review, I gotsta fill you in on some details. I get out of work at 8. I get into Irvine at about 845 so most people have already eaten dinner. But, we are night owls...so for us, dinner is about 10ish. So you...I couldn't get mad at Gelson's or Albertson's for being out of lemon-garlic-herb-roasted chicken at 9pm. I mean I could, but that wouldn't change the fact that I wanted lemon-garlic-herb-roasted chicken and they didn't have any. So... I get to Ralph's and low and behold!!! Their deli is closed and they don't have want I came to get. DAMN. sigh... Well, I guess I'm just going to have to roast my own lemon-garlic-herb chicken. Which meant, that dinner wasn't going to be ready till about 11. I hunt for a whole roasted chicken, find it and head towards the front to pay. I get to the front and the line is getting a bit long, but the manager notices it and gets a person to open another register...with me at the front. Cool! I get there and the lady-clerk and I exchange greetings. For her, greetings are a part of the job and for me, years of customer service has made it automatic. You can learn a lot from someone though greetings. So, I could tell that the lady-clerk was all business. Before completing the transaction, she asked me if I wanted it sign up for a Ralph's card. "Uh no...that's ok." I said not wanting to bother with it and determined to get home asap to start cooking. "It'll be cheaper if you do..." she said to me handing me the form with an, "...you idiot." look to complete her sentence. I had a feeling that she wasn't going to accept a "no thank you" from me. So i filled out the form and she scanned it...and I got a serious discount. "OH WOW!!" I said and smiled at the lady. "Thank you!" She said nothing, but gave me the "you idiot" look. I took no offense. The chicken was over $8 when I brought it to the register, and I was paying less than $4 for it!! And folks, this was not a small bird. I was paying less than a buck a pound. I got home, prepped my bird, roasted it, ate it and was very happy. So really, the stars here are for the lady-clerk for forcing me fill out the form for a Ralph's Rewards card and helping me save money. THANK YOU!! read more

i hate coming to this location. the only reason i come at all is because it's right next to school and they're cheaper than gelson's (when i can, i'll pay the extra at gelson's just to avoid ralph's). they're salad bar is pretty pathetic. it takes forever to get anyone's attention at the deli. and once you do, you have to watch them like a hawk to make sure they do it right. and they're usually out of half the stuff they have on their menu (really, how do you run out of bread and lunch meat in a grocery store that big??) their customer service is pretty horrific. once they finally open more registers, the cashiers take the people form the back of the line first. their self check outs never work. and the parking lot is awful to try to navigate-not their fault but it adds to the experience read more

Last time I went In to this Ralphs I called ahead and made sure they had Salmon before I made the drive and was told that they did. I showed up 2 hours later and the clerk in the seafood department told me they were out. How does a grocery store run out of salmon is what I'd like to know? Also the guy behind the counter didn't seem too apologetic or even cared that I was upset. He also didn't reassure me when there would be more salmon in stock. Instead he assumed that I overheard a conversation between him and another customer and said "As I just told these customers we are out of Salmon." In a condescending tone. Very rude. I don't care to come back here because of that incident I have never heard of a ralphs running out of salmon. I often shop at the lake forest location and am always treated kindly. read more

This is my go-to grocery store and I'm generally very happy with it. However, there have been a few times that I've gone where the shelves seemed kind of decimated. While an inconvenience, it's certainly not the norm so I'm willing to deal when it occasionally happens. Ok, and one last minor gripe/plea for change: why doesn't the store made sushi ever have a brown rice option?? I know that it's possible because the Ralph's on Jamboree in Tustin has some sushi made with brown rice so make some with brown rice, too! Please and thank you. read more

The manager asked me and my certified SERVICE animal, who was wearing all his tags, to leave the store because the FDA doesn't approve animals in the store. Ridiculous. My service animal goes everywhere with me and he has all the proper documentation to allow me too. We will never be visiting this store again. read more

At first, I wasn't too sure if I'd like Ralphs. However, I've grown to love them. I love that they have organic options for their produce. They also have good deals if you're a Ralphs member and the vouchers and coupons they send you in the mail really do help you save money. It's really convenient that they're open until 2am because sometimes I'll need something and they're still open! read more

This store is under construction, there are debris on the floor, the equipments are blocking the meat section which makes it 100x harder to navigate through the store.. But my main complaint is the cashier named Dough, he didn't even ask for our rewards card or phone number and then when my girlfriend told him that we want to use our rewards number he gave my girlfriend this crazy look and then when he was handing out our change he didn't hand it to me, instead he puts it on the counter. I find it disrespectful like he finds me disgusting or something when he's the one covered in body hair.. Like cmon man you have one job at least do it right.. read more

If I could take away stars, I would! I purchased a $100 VISA gift card here in April after shopping here since it opened in the 80s. By the time it was used, someone had emptied it so there was nothing left! When I disputed this with my credit card company (Chase Bank), they said that since I was there when the card was activated that I was responsible fore the $107 charge, even though the number was stolen. This also happened to a friend of mine for a $50 gift card. Perhaps this is an inside job, but no matter what, if the card number was stolen, I should not be responsible for paying for it! read more

This grocery store is fine for its convenient location but the prices are too high for weekly shopping. I can often find the same items (such as bread & cereal) at Target or Costco for a lot less. I prefer Sprout's Farmer's market for milk, meat, and produce. Don't go to this shopping center when the high school is on their lunch break, you may not make it out of the parking lot in one piece. read more

This store is my favorite I came to the Delhi to get some Sandwich meat and cheese. Usually when I come here I have a pass by I don't see anyone working there only this one Asian person that it makes only sushi so when you ask them if they can help you he's like no I can't wait till that guy comes he can so wait or that you ring the bell nobody shows up till you go and ask for someone to get help you so finally a guy came and there was another lady in front of me he helped her and finally I asked the guy to give me the meat and some cheese, this little blond man didn't greet me or say happy Mother's Day no service acting like robot. So I asked them just give me this much tonight and some pepper jack cheese I'll go pick up the bread and I'll be right back and the bed is across the counter not even five step away and as soon as I come back he just put my tuna on top of the counter and there's no cheese I asked him where is my cheese is ignoring me and I asked him again he's like wait a minute so finally I want to speak to the manager and he was saying he won't help me I waited there at least 35mints I noticed that the manager was not capable of taking care of the situation so I get upset and I left everything on the counter and left the store and went to Gelson store across the street I get my items from them I paid less I get a better quality best of tuna and the cheese and the bread thank you for leading me to a better store for not helping me. read more

This is my go to Ralph's! Excellent price on produce is which for me is very important and expensive. I have a gineau pig that Ralph's feeds and very well! Wouldn't be able to give Homa well balanced salad if it weren't for Ralph's excellent produce prices compared to other stores! The manager working tonite, March 12, 2021, was such a Karen and the worst. Been living here for over 20 years and stopped shopping at Ralph's because of the lack of products such as a simple item of Horizon whole milk either a gallon or half a gallon. I asked if they would do a better job forecasting and maybe leave an inventory of milk because the expiration date of Horizon milk is over a month. To my chagrin, no change over the years, worst management. But that's not what transpired tonight. A little past 12:00 am, I was waiting in line to buy a few items. Five young ladies bought one or two items in front of me. As most know, the credit/debit transactions seem very slow at times. I've been working late hours and most are tired at this time. The so called manager was bantering away with these young students like they haven't seen each other for ages, I know good manners and being personable is part of image and hospitality, but 2 others in line and me being three behind these 5 ladies was unbearable. Especially when she was the only lane that was open and the self-checkout was closed. I asked if she would please hurry up and she just stared at me and mocked me of what I said, then she proceeded to look at her 5 friends and then look down on me. While she was doing her transactions, she was distracted and got an item from her managerial desk, and one of the worker gave her another scanner. First I'm amazed that she was oblivious that people wanted to go home and she was taking her sweet time and second I feel sorry for her that she doesn't have the simple skills to handle a disgruntled customer. All she could do is retaliate and make assurances that she has done nothing wrong. WOW! Such poor training and unbelievable customer service. I'm not surprised anymore, just SHAME ON YOU and Ralph's. read more

We need more people like Evan in this world! He went above and beyond to help me and my friend tonight. He greeted us when we arrived in the parking lot, and let us know that when we were done with the handicap scooter he would bring it back inside for us (it was raining). Then, on our way back out to the car from shopping, he helped us put the groceries in the car and even offered to pop the trunk for us. Basically, he did everything he could to help and had a pleasant and friendly attitude while doing it. Great impact! read more

I primarily have used this store for the pharmacy. The pharmacists at this location are wonderful. They go above and beyond in their customer service and in caring for the patient. I recommend using them over any other pharmacy including Kaiser and other health care plans. read more
