Hey, what's the deal here? I came here twice this summer and the ices are super melty- like 1 step more frozen than a Rita's ice. Did Ralph's change its consistency or are there problems with the freezers here? Not what I'm looking for when I want an Italian ice. I went there last night, love the cream ice! The service is always great. The place looks clean. I ordered a pint of vanilla and black cherry, and a pint of creamalota. The server was very nice. I took forever to pick my flavors. So,! I wanted to leave a tip, I was paying with a debit card. I asked the server, you guys get the tips right? They told me that there never get the ones from the machine. Only the ones from the bucket. So, i just payed more for my order! They don't get the tips from my debit card! Thats B.S! read more

If you live in Nassau or Suffolk and don't visit your local Ralph's on a warm summer's night, can you really call yourself a self-respecting Long Islander? No. This self-respecting Long Islander went to Ralph's to satisfy an ice cream craving. I love going to Ralph's - there's something so small-town feeling to it. I had the creamsicle flavored ice which I hadn't had before but truly fell in love at first bite. Tastes like summer in a cup! My dad had his first ever Ralph's (no, he's not a self-respecting Long Islander in spite of moving to Long Island in 1998). He had a vanilla soft serve in a cone and said it reminded him of when we were kids and we would eat ice cream at the playground. It wasn't the playground, but the Deer Park Ralph's has some picnic benches to sit on and enjoy the hot weather and cold iced treats. read more

Usually I'm not one to write bad reviews, but I had an unfortunate experience today. When I walked up to the counter to order, a teenage boy was laying back on his phone and it took him a bit to notice us. In addition, when we ordered an "unusual" flavor (to him), the other girl working who was also helping us goes to tell him what we had ordered. He then proceeds to say RIGHT in front of us "what a weirdo" and "that's effing disgusting". Not the nicest thing to say in front of the customers who are ordering. Pretty sure his name was Peter. Being a Ralph lover since birth makes this review absolutely heartbreaking but it has to be done. Asking for a half cake batter half graham cracker ice might not seem like a challenging task to most but don't let that fool you. This kid (2 guys working) somehow gave me vanilla chip.. the colors aren't even remotely the same. Bring back the pretty girls this is clearly too complicated a task for two young men. read more

I've been here for almost three years and finally tried Ralphs Italian Ice. I've only had Italian ice a few times in my life and it was always Rita's on the west coast, so I was excited that spring had arrived and Ralphs was open. Walked up to the window and was surprised by the gigantic menu of options. I never knew there were cream-based Italian ices, so I went with the "peanut butter candy bar with fudge". Before this, I thought all Italian ices were water-based and mainly fruit flavors, so I couldn't wait to try my choice. The employee was really nice and handed me a heaping sample spoon. With one taste, I knew it was the flavor for me. For $3.75, you get a perfect portion for one person. The texture was almost indescribable, save to say it was like soft serve, but with a "cleaner" texture. I was so impressed by the texture of the Italian ice and even more impressed by the flavor. As promised, it tasted like a "peanut butter candy bar" (I assume they're going for Reese's). The fudge throughout was a nice touch. There was no wait while I was there. I'm not sure why the previous reviewer was so put off by the service. It's an ice cream dessert place. I would gladly wait five minutes to buy a serving of their Italian ice. Just over a year left in New York and you can bet I'll be eating at Ralphs as often as possible until then. read more

If you go to late and want to get ice cream sundae they turn the ice cream machine off which kinda stinks because the sundaes are very good. Never again. My mom and I went to this place to get some ice cream. I first asked if the place serves softees. The girl at the counter said that they can only serve softees in Vanilla flavor because the Chocolate portion of the soft serve machine crapped out. This was a red flag but I ignored it since I wanted Vanilla anyway. After 2 minutes of struggle, they come to me and say they're sorry but the softee is unavailable. This was the warning sign from God telling me to flee this place, but sadly, I stayed and opted for 2 Vanilla hard ice creams instead. The poor girl who was putting the ice cream in the cups for us was having a difficult time doing so. She looked like she was digging a tunnel out of prison with a spoon. The scooper she was using looked like it didn't come with a lever so she was having trouble getting it off the scooper and into the cup. It shouldn't take 5 minutes for someone working at a somewhat popular establishment to serve 2 cups of hard ice cream. But I won't blame her because it looked very much like she wasn't trained properly and was just doing her job. Also during that time, there was a customer who ordered some kind of ice, which 3 girls worked together to get, only to mess that up as well. At one point one of them got startled, yelled and backed away from the ice fridge as if she saw something moving in it. After a couple of seconds the girls got together and just giggled. WTF? There were customers watching. The customer should certainly know what the heck it was that the girl thought she saw moving. 10 minutes later, I'm eating my hard ice cream in the car when, after going through half the cup, I pulled the spoon up to my mouth and discovered a hair. I'm pretty sure I didn't order hair toppings to go along with the sprinkles on my ice cream. I threw the ice cream out and went to the CVS next door to buy some water and freshen my mouth. All in all, I am not impressed with this establishment. Hairnets need to be a requirement. Employees need to raise their standards. And for Heaven's sake get some better equipment when handling the ice cream. 1 star (Only because I can't give 0 stars). read more

Ordered 3 quarts for a special occasion birthday. Paid for priority delivery and arrived melted. Missing one of the quarts and also the other two quarts I did receive was supposed to have four flavors each and we only received two flavors each. We paid a lot of extra money for this and now have people who are upset and disappointed. Stupidity and carelessness. Will not order from them ever again! read more

The worst experience ever. My pregnant girlfriend wanted to get an exchange or just simply a refund. But instead this heavy set female with curly hair white skin just wanted to argue. She needs to be fired now especially trying to argue with a pregnant women. The strawberry Sunday she got tasted expired. I got a stomach just trying it. The whip cream looked yellow. Staff typically consists of one or two high school girls with bad attitudes. Routinely stand at the counter with no help or sign of an employee for 5 or more minutes. One could easily go behind the counter, dance around, and take a nap with no one noticing. read more
