I chose a dissent location based on my last interaction this past Monday in July and decided on a sweet treat with a friend after work. It was one of the cutest experiences I have had recently and I might have to just switch this to my new Icie spot instead of going to the Elmont location just because my mom lives down the block. This location everyone was sweet and funny and nice and open to making suggestions and patient. It was clean inside and they have a small parking area out front. My friend who I brought with was super indecisive and it went from one attendant to three making suggestions but everyone seemed to be genuinely interested in what my friend wanted. He decided in a strawberry margarita ice and I got a watermelon blizzard like the ice with the vanilla soft serve on top. It tasted like old school bubbalicious gum still in the wrapper. Ralph's is an incredible little shop just filled with a variety of flavors of Italian ice. There were two young ladies who helped me decide which flavors to purchase. I was not rushed or prodded to move along. Differences between flavors were eagerly noted and explained clearly. I ended up purchasing about 9 different flavors. Three of them I was giving to friends as a gift. Parking is limited so I usually try to time my visit early in the day. I can imagine it to be quite crowded on a sunny weekend in the summer. But make Ralph's your go to stop for a delicious, refreshing Italian ice. I finally popped my Ralph's Ices "cherry"!! It was everything I imagined it to be and then some. It's a tiny shack with a line out the door and I can totally understand why. There's so many flavors & choices to choose from. How do you narrow it down? I'm not quite sure but I stared at the menu for about 7 minutes before I was ready to tell the cashier my sugar rush of choice. There's benches outside to enjoy your treat and on a Summer day or night who wouldn't want that option? I decided to try the creme ices which were Cannoli & Toffee Bar Crunch. I got a small because I was afraid a medium would have been too much & way too sweet. What a silly mistake on my part not only was it delicious, light, and made my palate delighted. I wanted MORE of the good stuff. Next time I will get a medium & if I'm daring I'll even opt for El Grande. Both flavors tasted like the real thing. I can't describe how utterly good it was. An absolute summer staple! This is an iconic and nostalgic part of my summers on Long Island - it's been tradition for the past 8 years - and I wouldn't have it any other way. I usually stick with my "Watermelon" ice, but tried the "Citrus Twist" last weekend per my cousin's recommendation and it was deliciously refreshing for a hot summer day. What does buy one get one free mean to you? Past experience and precedent in this store has meant: buy a size - get an equal size of any flavor free. Don't get me wrong - I like Ralph's and have gone to this store for years and been happy with the quality and the service. Today a snarky young lady refused to uphold past common sense and precedent, Insisting buy a quart get a medium free or buy a medium get a medium free. When questioned she insisted this is "the bosses policy." I find this policy very strange and will speak to the boss to confirm. Until then there are other ices stores to patronize that have clear consistent policies in place. read more

First ever trip to Ralph's was last night. We were just down the road at Greis Park and decided to give Ralph's a try. So glad we did. They offer a huge selection of flavors... and about 6 gals behind the counter to answer questions about each one. I chose a small creme ice - and chose chocolate cookies & cream and vanilla peanut butter cup. Ooooo they were both tasty! FYI- a small = 2 scoops! and a creme ice = ice w/ 1% milk (a regular ice doesn't have dairy). Next time I'm near a Ralph's I'm stopping by.. there are about 100 more flavors I need to try! And maybe we got lucky...but we stopped by about 8:20ish on a Saturday night and we served right away. read more

First Ralph's of the year. I got cherry ices I started eating and could swear there was pieces of something not editable but decided maybe it was chunks of cherries. Finally I looked at what the piece was and it was a piece of plastic. I thought maybe it was a one time price but it wasn't I continued to get slivers of plastic throughout the entire cup. read more

I live right by Ralph's and on a hot summer night there is nothing better than walking up the block for a sweet treat. The lines can be a little crazy during peek hours, but the flavors are amazing. My personal favorite is the Peanut Butter and Jelly, it's got everything except the crust. A highlight of summer. read more

I got the pineapple water icee, my husband got the Blue Hawaii water icee, and my mom got the coconut cream icee. The pineapple and Blue Hawaii were extremely bland - tasted like shaved ice with just a hint of flavor. Not worth it. But the coconut cream icee made with milk?? Maaaaaan, it was probably one of the best icees I've ever tasted - hence the 4 stars. read more

There's everything from the standard lemon, rainbow and cherry ices, to the fancier mango, strawberry margarita, cotton candy and Caribbean splash. Their cream ices are equally as delicious, and include black cherry cheesecake, chocolate mousse chip, orange 'n creme and red velvet. The quality is stellar and the service is always good. The cream ices used to be much better, now they're much more watered down. They're still decent but after they increased the prices they're no longer an alternate for Carvel. They do have a lot of unique flavors, so I occasionally go there when I can't get that flavor in a better quality elsewhere. read more

This is a small store, but very well organized. The line can get long on a summer night, but trust me it goes pretty quick. Thanks to my girlfriend's family for bringing me here! I have never had Italian Ice before - EVER! I am from Hawaii, so shave ice is my normal icy treat. (Please Google Hawaiian Shave Ice to get to know it!). Coming home from the train, I was so tired from hanging out in the city all day. Someone asked if I wanted to get some Italian Ice. I was game for trying new things, so we made a detour to a magical place called Ralph's. As we pulled up, I noticed a line that was out the door! There was also no parking, but we didn't have to wait long for a stall in the lot. As we waited in line, I was able peruse the menu of hundreds of choices. (I may be exaggerating, but I swear, it seems like it!) I settled on pineapple and lemon. My daughter got the creamy (?) ices, coffee and cookie dough. When we got back home, I couldn't wait to see what all the fuss was about. As soon as I took my first spoonful, a little bit of heaven rained down upon my mouth. This stuff was soooooooo good! It was light and flavorful, not heavy. I got the large and ate it all! I didn't even feel guilty afterward. We made sure to go back 2 more times before we left. But, alas. Ralph's has now ruined me forever. There is no italian ice place here on O'ahu. Count your blessings, Valley Stream, that you have Ralph's! read more

Best Italian Ices- Java chip is my favorite. We make sure to go here whenever we visit our in-laws in Valley Stream. The only thing I wish is that there was more outdoor seating available. After waiting on the lines ( which is a good sign ), it can be somewhat tiresome to not have a table to sit out. Plus, I think it would just appear more welcoming.
