A while back I asked her to make a vanilla naked cake for my daughter's bridal shower and it was absolutely delightful. (I already wrote a review about it so there's no point reiterating- take my word for it or read about - it was perfect...delicious and perfect.) Just when I thought it couldn't possibly get any better - my daughter and her husband approached Allison to talk about their dream wedding cake. They had a vision and sent her a picture. She picked up the ball and ran with it...ran to places where no one else could. Others bakers- hemmed and hawed telling the couple how difficult a task they were setting and that they weren't certain it would look exactly as desired -Allison did the exact opposite- the couple had a vision and she saw it- really saw it...without hesitation she confidently assured them she was able to recreate it to a TEE. And boy did she!! Not only was she confident -the bride and groom were too. The fact that Allison is THE nicest and sweetest herself is a tremendous plus as well-she clearly loves what she does and in return we LOVE that about and for her... Fast forward to nearly three weeks ago when we arrived at the venue to see the finished product - gorgeously displayed and expertly designed precisely as was asked. Believe me when I tell you this woman Allison is a MAGICIAN!!! And as spectacular as this masterpiece was.... it was equally as delectable. When guests go to weddings a lot of them don't bother with the cake especially when there are other dessert options but in this case NUH- UH. Our guests were asking for seconds and further some asked if there was any left to take home. A cake like that speaks for itself...truly. What a great experience today was!! I met with Allison the owner. When i called to make the appointment she asked if we had any food allergy or restrictions prior to us coming in. Luckily for the both of us we dont. She did mention that their bakery is tree nut free so i know a few people i can already refer here to get their fixes. I'll be honest i kinda liked that they do offer gluten free options and lactose for those who are limited! We arrived and there were our tasting mini cupcakes all had some great pairing options and a fun guide to follow. (Def a huge plus made it easy to use and follow!) mini cupcakes super moist buttercream frostings were the right temperature super creamy! I am so lucky to no only be so happy with where we booked our wedding but knowing this place is the mastermind behind their wedding cakes! The bakery is small has some beautiful cakes in the windows their wedding wire awards proudly showing and the prep/kitchen area open. Love that really shows how clean this place is! I came in with some pinterest photos of different cake designs i liked. She really saw the vision i was going with and even brought in some ideas of diff things to put on the cake in order to really make everything flow. She wanted to see whatever i had as far as centerpieces, colors, flowers etc. she showed us some samples on the computer of previous cakes diff items she will use and what flavors complement each other. Lets face it a cake really ties in all the items of the wedding as it winds down for the night and i really think she captured the vision and even brought some new textures to the whole masterpiece it will become! Allison and her team are simply amazing at what they do, and you can totally tell that they're very passionate about their job. Allison was super friendly from the moment we walked in for cake tasting. We fell in love as soon as we had a bite of their cake, and Allison and her team made the whole process a breeze. We had a somewhat small budget for our cake, but Allison was able to come up with different ideas and options to make sure we got what we wanted within our budget. We wanted a 3-tier red velvet cake with vanilla buttercream frosting, with simple, minimal design, and that's EXACTLY what we got. The cake arrived at our venue exactly on time, and looked flawless all throughout the night until the cake cutting ceremony. Everyone at the wedding kept talking about how delicious it was and how beautiful it looked. I'm sure we've all had those dry, flavorless, generic tasting cakes covered in cloyingly sweet, fake frosting at some weddings. Our cake tasted nothing like that.
