Way overpriced. Uses local business as a tool for profit while carrying common pre-packaged products.

Went there to get some Plan B. Turns out they don't sell it. Guess we'll just have to get a good old fashion abortion.

Yogurt is 6$ at other stores and only $3 at Winco For the same brand. A warning for women who go shopping alone. I was almost attacked by a man in the parking lot and had to call the police. He blocked me into my parking spot and got out of his vehicle screaming at me. Just warning people get crazy here, maybe Lacey in General. So I usually take my husband now, and do not go alone. The service is better now, and I have not seen the cashier who was rude before. The customer service people are so nice, quick and helpful. And the cashiers are generally friendly and pretty fast. Glad I gave this place another chance.

Look. You need to grade Winco on what I call "the Winco curve."…read more The store is clean and fairly well organized. They have several items you can't find anywhere else in the area. The prices are great, much lower than Freddy's or Safeway. They have a great bulk section, the only bulk section I've found in the area. Spices, candy, pasta, flours, and more can be found in their bulk section. They don't take credit cards and you have to bag your own groceries, so keep that in mind. This is considered the "poor" grocery store. But I'm not poor, and I like to shop here. Yes, you might end up behind someone in line with two carts full of groceries, and paying with a combination of cash, check, and EBT, but the savings are awesome and the checkout process is relatively quick regardless. I love Winco and if you don't you might be a snob. Bonus fact: "Winco" is an acronym for "Washington, Idaho, Northern California, Oregon." Bonus-bonus fact: last time I checked, their sister store is Metropolitan Market, a North Sound area "fancy" store.

The deli staff are amazing every single time! The food is delicious every single time! A tad more expensive than the local Safeway--but I'll spring for it occasionally. Lake Fair weekend though--where do I start... they hire additional persons to monitor the parking lot. I get that, they want parking for their customers, not fair goers. Well, the older guy in the yellow vest.. eek! He's a chatty man. I parked in a shaded area while my oldest son ran into the store to get us some snacks and drinks while we waited for my other son to meet us (he had a temp job with Funtastic). He approached my car while I was waiting... made sure that I was not leaving my car to head over to the carnival--was sure to let me know the manager was on a war path and threatening to tow everyone... stayed to let me know his political stance on why downtown has so many 'bums'. Proceeded to let me know that the only way to change that it to change who we elect and pointed at the Capitol. About 15 minutes pass and my son had returned with our snacks and drinks, the man walks up again to check when we would be leaving... On the bright side--the ladies at the deli counter made me some fantastic fried mushrooms to snack on while I listened to this guy's second round of political garbage.

The service was okay. A few errors such as not meeting me at the section of the counter to hand off the food. For some reason, the lady laid it on the other side. The bread was really greasy from cheap grill oil. This made it a bit hard to eat, but i'm not throwing away a whole roast beef sandwich. An apple is served with the sandwich, but the sticker was still on it and survived them washing it, apparently. All in all, the customer service needs a bit more cheer, and the food needs a bit of help. Simply using a slightly better bread and a bit of butter for grilling will go a long way compared to the saturated diner grill oil. They have kombuchas here as im writing this, so im going to grab one to rinse the cooking oil from my mouth. 3 out of 5 at best. Update. Now 2 out of 5. Bathroom was locked and circled the whole store. Had to get a pass code from someone as they left it locked. Big nope all around. Not returning.

However, I feel that the Pacific Avenue location's crowdedness makes it a little more fun to discover all the little culinary surprises the store has hidden away. What this location has in favor of it was one little wedge of cheese that we've been looking for forever since we moved to Washington State- a wedge of Brillat Savarin. For me, there is no other brie. One time I was at the Cheese Board Collective in Berkeley to find a blue cheese from Asturias when I saw the Brillat Savarin and insisted my mom get it for a party. She asked why the big deal and I said that it's the closest thing a cheese can get to butter. The cheesemonger standing in front of us looked up from his cheese sorting, looked us with crazy eyes and whispered, "No. It IS butter." He then stopped what he was doing to spread out a runny dab for her on a cracker and my mom saw the light. We were so excited about finally finding this cheese when other people heard my sister singing its' praises and they wanted it. There was only one wedge left, so my sister gracefully let another man have it. I mean, how else do you spread the gospel and make converts until other people have had their own spiritual experience. So we'll be back again with the hope that they restock.

Seriously, almost everyday I heard somebody just bashing their own job. Only one guy seems happy there. You'll notice him instantly because everybody else looks like they're in hell. I was even hired once long ago to be a customer service manager and they made me fried chicken boy. Always lacking what you need, prices through the roof, a weird layout where pretzels will be on one side of the store and chips will be on the other (same for many other similar products). I asked somebody once if they worked there because I needed help and the response was "what do you think?". She's now a manager. It's a store full of miserable old housewives who need something to do so they are now cashiers, and young to middle aged men who are scared of the world and think this job security. It's just another grocery store pretending to be down to earth but is full of assholes.
