Late review: Thursday night through Monday morning For what you get in Ohio, this is a high 3 star, low 4 star. The last time I paid for a place to stay in Ohio I got a musty one (tiny) room for the same price and no breakfast to boot! Anyway, different days have different price points, with Sunday being the cheapest. The place is older and the wear is evident in the work table, coffee maker, shower (rusty showerhead!) and gym. The first thing that greeted us when we opened the door was the strong bleach smell. We opened the door and the window to air it out, but it wasn't until the next day, after more airing out, that the smell was replaced by a dank smell. Four pillows to a bed. My mom was so comfortable in her bed, she said it was the best sleep she's had for a long time. Kitchen appliances available are coffeemaker, microwave, and fridge. Fridge can get loud. There are two mirrors besides the one inside the restroom. Hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, facial bar, and body soap provided. Iron and hangers also available. Breakfast goes from 6-10am and provides the traditional breakfast foods: waffles, bagels, toast, cereal, donuts, muffins, yogurt, sausage and eggs. I didn't see any fruits! I suppose that's what the fruit juice is. After breakfast, oatmeal packets are still available, as are hot chocolate and hot water. There is a sign that says you must wear shoes to breakfast, for all the rebels out there. The gym is little, with a weight machine, an elliptical/bike(?), a medicine ball and a treadmill. Running on the treadmill was not the best experience, the thing was so squeaky I couldn't hear my kindle. The weight machine was also very squeaky. The free wifi is a plus! The password changes every so often. A pool is available as well but it was raining so we didn't get to utilize it. So far so good, a 4 star for the price. read more

It was nasty the hallway smelled of cigarettes, the room of cat piss. And looks like the pool had been out of order since late summer of 2022. MORNING COLUMBUS Let's start the review by saying you get what you pay for. The room was only $78 a night with tax. That's a great deal! It was well worth that amount. If this room was over a $100 I would have been upset. I paid for a king size bed but the only one that was ready was on the first floor. I can't sleep on the first floor of a hotel. It's so unsafe. So the next available room was on the second floor and it had double beds and was right next to the elevator. I was taking a huge chance because I could have been listening to the elevator making noise all night. Luckily I was exhausted after working and passed out. I didn't hear a single thing. The guy at check it was really nice too. The hotel is definitely dated and could use some remodeling. Actually a wrecking ball but remember this place was a deal at $78 a night. I will say the hotel was really clean. In fact, when I walked in there was a guy cleaning the windows and I could only smell bleach. Either Dateline just filmed a story here or they read all their bad reviews that talked about this place being dirty. I didn't experience this place being dirty and I was happy about that. The workout room was really bad even though it was 24/7. It was next to the main desk but had giant windows facing the front of the hotel. So if you worked out then everyone could see you. The equipment was from 70's or just looked retro. I'm not sure. The breakfast was really bad. I basically had bananas and a coffee. I knew I had a six hour drive in front of me, so I decided to make a waffle. I never eat these at the hotel but it was about the only edible thing here that would fill my belly. The hot choices were really bad including a cold hash brown and a burnt fried egg with dried out Yolk. It was really gross to look at and I couldn't believe people were eating this. Why four stars? The place was clean and affordable. I also had a great nights sleep which hasn't happen in a while. So I was happy with this location and I'd definitely sleep here again. Here's a bonus: there's a strip mall in front of this hotel and there's an amazing Filipino restaurant called Kuya Ian's Bistro. You'll have to drive around because the parking lot faces the back side of the restaurant. It's definitely worth a visit plus the owner is really nice. The absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The whole hotel smells like smoke and marijuana. The rooms were disgusting. The walls were half painted. There were spiderwebs and spiders all over the ceiling. The tub and sinks were moldy. The doors even looked like they were "under construction" . The walls were dripping in dirt. They should be ashamed of themselves. No bath towels. The only nice thing I can say was the kind young lady at the front desk on our last day. Oh and walls are very thin. Called three times in advance letting them know I'm checking in early and never said it's 20$ to check in before 12pm. They also told me they "should have a room available" since I was checking in on Friday but then I got there and not only was there no rooms available, housekeeping doesn't get in until 9am and they take an HOUR to clean a room. I've worked in hotels before and that's long af. Just letting you guys all know!! when I checked in at 1pm they apologized for making me wait and it smells clean. The rooms where clean but REALLY dated with stains on the carpet. These rooms need to be re-carpeted (and the baseboards are carpet too which I personally despise but to each their own), walls need to be re-done, the bathrooms need to be re-caulked, and the furniture needs an update as well. It's like stepping into a 90's hotel. Also there's no place to put my luggage? Normally there's that foldy thing that you open and then can place your luggage on it. Breakfast was a very average continental. Also there is feet marks in the tub which gross me out! i do not wear sandals so it's not from my feet, which are in socks. After the final night it was bad. I was constantly checking for bed bugs and rodents (thankfully none). There's this gap under the front door that bugs get under, which there was a lot of, and they put me right by the door to outside (that's NEVER locked btw I checked) and it's was just too much for me. It was constantly loud, the walls are made of paper and since I was by the back door, all I heard every time I was in my room is the door loudly opening and shutting. Let's start off with the cold water in the morning for the shower in both of my rooms the lights not working in our rooms on top of that I booked 2 rooms for a BUSINESS trip when we left for work in the morning checking out we realized a very expensive jacket was left behind we called and it was confirmed it was found we not only told the lady we would be back to grab it at 6pm it was ALSO WRITTEN IN THE NOTES CONFIRMED .. when we went to grab it no one knew anything so WE ALSO GOT STOLEN FROM at this property. Watch your belongings and don't expect much at this dump . Also whoever owns this property needs to hire more people the two ladies are very nice but seem exhausted and over worked . read more

I knew what I was signing up for when I decided to stay at a discount motel. Still, that does not excuse the experience I had. I stayed for three nights. When I returned from my meeting on the second day, I found that my room had not been cleaned (see attached pictures). The cleaning staff had definitely been to the room, as there were clean towels on the towel rack. But the dirty towels were still laying in a pile on the floor. The bed had not been made. And the remnants from the coffee I had made the night before had not been cleaned up. They also did not replace the coffee that I had used, so I wasn't able to make fresh coffee the next morning. When I went to the front desk and told the desk clerk (her name was Toni), she apologized and said, "Yeah, we've been having trouble with our cleaning staff. I'll tell the manager." But there was no offer to get someone to come in and clean up the towels or replace the coffee. The next day, I asked to speak to the manager, but he wasn't in-even though I had been told (by Toni) that he would be in the next morning. Walter, the front desk guy was very apologetic. He seemed like a nice guy and I'm sorry he has to work at a place like this. I left my cell phone number with the front desk and told them to please have the manager call or text me. He never did. Toni told me that the best they could do for the failure to clean my room was offer me a 10% discount on the bill. That's barely what they would give to someone with a Triple A discount. Very disappointing. The continental breakfast food LOOKED fine-waffles, bagels, etc. But I only eat protein, so I tried the mini-omelettes and sausage links. They were disgusting. I took one bite of each and had to throw them away. They were lukewarm, and they tasted bad. I get to Columbus for business on a semi-regular basis, so I usually try to find an affordable place to stay. I will never stay at this place again, and I will recommend AGAINST it to anyone I know visiting the Columbus area for any reason. I will also be sending a copy of this review to the Ramada corporate headquarters. read more

Two things made this visit unacceptable to me: First, if I paid for the room in advance. It shouldn't take HALF AN HOUR to give me a key. It was two-thirty in the morning. Yes, Dave, I know YOU didn't have that problem when you checked into this hotel but to soothe your snowflake mind: I texted a buddy that I arrived at the hotel at two-thirty and looked at my phone when she handed me the key to the room at five after three. I realize that the time of check in being a rearranged tree fiddy is probably karma. Second, the main lobby of the hotel smelled like gym socks. I was terrified that I would have to sleep in a stinky place (it was too late to find another hotel). Luckily, the lobby smelled like gym socks but my room was about fifty meters from the lobby so while the smell extended into the hotel it didn't reach my room. My room was clean and acceptable. It wasn't fancy by any means but I was able to go to sleep easily (albeit super late) and sleep late as well. The price wasn't bad (I paid less than $100) but I'd pass on their breakfast and the rest of the amenities looked dated. This is a hotel one sleeps at and nothing else. For the price I'd be back but I don't want to risk the smell or lengthy check-in process. read more

This hotel is not clean what so ever I'm pretty shocked. Calling this The Polaris Ramada is a joke - I live at Polaris and have to stay here for a conference. There is blood or snoot on the bathroom wall? Cracks in the lamp shade? Smears all over the toilet seat, shower, and sink area? I mean come on... I did not realize this was a motel 6 and I've stayed at other Ramada's. The staff that I did interact with were friendly for the most part. That's about where the positives stop. It seemed to be an older hotel, that has probably gone through the bare minimal of renovations. The carpets are stained. Paint is chipping all through the corridor, not only on the walls but the door frames as well. Once in my room, there was a scent. It was a cross between old mop water and mildew. I went to use the rest room and there was a dead bug on the floor. Afterwards, I went to wash my hands, there was hair in the sink and what seemed to be a dead bug inside of the nob of the sink fixture. Considering it was 4AM and I was not in the mood to travel any further, I dealt with it. Ironically, the bed was clean. It by far was the best thing in the room. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you're stuck in a bind. read more

Short Version: Decent hotel. Definitely not high-end, but it's totally liveable. If you don't want to spend a ton of money but would still a place to stay, this hotel will work. The staff is friendly enough though maybe not always the best at their jobs; the hotel is just not as modern or as clean as it could be. It's not dirty or gross in any "functional" manner, though - just outdated decor or chipping paint. I wouldn't come here if you want to "impress" someone, but for as just a place to stay, it's just fine. Long Version: I decided on this hotel after checking reviews and it was the cheapest one in a safe area that had the least-crappy reviews. So here are my thoughts on it: Pros: -Hotel staff was friendly. Check-in was easy and so was check-out. Hotel was cleaned really nicely while I stayed there, so the maid service was nice. Towels were replaced, items were, and even the extra blanket I had brought was folded neatly and placed on the bed. -Continental breakfast was pretty good. Everything was fresh and not-stale. Milk was cold, fresh fruits looked good and not-bruised. They had your standard fair - waffles, cereals, milk, fruits, oatmeals, orange juice. I was surprised that there wasn't any non-fat milk or chocolate milk. -Rate was cheap. Without any further discounts (just at RACK rate), it was about $60 a night. -Neighborhood doesn't seem the safest, but the hotel has a dedicated parking lot a bit away from the surrounding neighborhood. Since the hotel has more of a U-shape anyway, it seems to kinda make it "feel" like the hotel has more privacy. -Room was totally liveable. No garbage or gross sheets to be seen. Bathroom was spotless in any way that it mattered. Refrigderator and microwave worked fine. -Staff seemed super happy to fulfill any of my requests. I went down to the desk to ask for extra towels and a lightbulb (to hopefully replace one of the burned out lights), and they brought them to me with no problem. -AC worked great. Went down to 60 degrees with no problem, but with such a small room, 68 or 69 was a better choice. -Half of the hotel has smoking rooms. I specifically requested a room far away from smoke smells or any smoking rooms, and they said they were happy to do so. I had room 248, and it had no smells to it (but was located near the elevator) in case you wish for the same. -The hotel has an outdoor pool (with lounge chairs) and a fitness room. The outdoor pool has a depth of 3 and 4 feet. The indoor gym had an elliptical, stationary recumbent bike, treadmill, and maybe a weight machine. It's definitely not huge. It seems to be located in the old manager's office (to give you an idea of size). Cons: -Room was not entirely clean and up-to-date. Things that other hotels might determine required replacement, this one doesn't. There are some paint chips in one of the bedroom walls, and one of the bathroom tiles was loose. None of it is functional not-clean, though - just random decorative things that look bad. -The only big functional complaint was the toilet. It DID NOT flush all the way every time you flushed. It would flush down any waste, but toilet paper would come back up. It was liveable but probably the most annoying part of the room. -One lamp was broken. I thought it was the lightbulb, so I asked the desk for a new bulb, but it just seems the light is entirely broken. -Rooms were not designed for gorgeous lighting. A single small window is found for every room, and the lamps don't provide a lot of extra light. It works fine, but it definitely is not lighting that will make you swoon like some hotels. -Half of this hotel has smoking rooms. This leaves an odd smell to the hallways and lobby areas. Smell is mostly gone when you're in your rooms. -Whatever maid cleaned this room before I got here didn't entirely finish. There was bathtub cleanser on the bottom of the tub when I got here and all of the lamps were unplugged (probably from vacuuming?) Weird, but easily fixed. -One of the nights I stayed, housekeeping came and cleaned a couple things but left all of their cleansers and had trashcans on the sink and it was just really weird. Not a job well-done. -Stayed three nights. Two nights, I remembered to put out the Do Not Disturb sign on my door. The third night, I forgot. The next morning, housekeeping knocked on the door and woke me up at 8 AM and attempted to come in. And I said I was in there. And at 9 AM. And again at 10. Then we checked out. I do NOT need to be bothered every hour. This might have sorta-made-sense on one of the nights I was staying overnight again, but I was checking out that morning. The hotel frontdesk clearly has a list of what rooms are checking out that day, so there's no reason to bother the guests until check-out time or when the front desk can confirm the guests have checked out of the room entirely. read more

The only reason I am giving it even one star is because every single employee was friendly and helpful. I only stayed because we arrived at 2am and had already paid. We needed to be at a funeral service the next morning so I needed a shower. Otherwise I would have slept in the car!!! This was the filthiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Hair in the bathtub, nail clippings on the carpet, etc. DRIED BLOOD on the carpet!!! The TV remote didn't work and reception was fuzzy. The air conditioner barely worked, said it was set on 61 (only put it that low so it would actually stay on) and I was still sweating. Even in the lobby I was sweating. I was not the only one fanning myself with a paper plate from the breakfast area. These people should be ashamed of themselves for charging what they do for a room in this hotel. read more

The place smelled of cigarette smoke and weed. We got in at 12:30am and waited 20 minutes to get room keys because the front desk guy kept walking away from other customers before us for no reason. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. The continental breakfast was lack luster. The floors were stained and gross, the beds were awful, and heat/air had no happy medium. Despite the reviews here, I stayed in this hotel last weekend. I was in a wedding at the venue next door. And just decided that lyft and getting back to my car the next day wasn't worth it. This is an older property and that is paramount to remember when staying anywhere. These properties are are much hard to keep clean. With that said we got a king room tight jacuzzi tub. The staff was very pleasant and helpful at our early check in. I walked into the room armed with bleach tables thinking I would need to use these on the tub, and it was surprising very clean. In fact still had the scent of cleaner. The linens and towels were also very clean. There was no dust or awkward smell older properties can have. And the a/c made it into the icebox I love! We booked this hotel this last weekend May 2022. We booked two King Size rooms, we did ask for special request to have room next or close by but understood that may not happen. Our check in was for 3pm. We arrived at 2:50, there was a line at the desk so by the time I got to check in it was past 3. They stated neither of our rooms are ready, which they said to everyone in line in front of me as well. They asked if we could come back in 30 minutes, I agreed. We had our 4 younger kids with us so another. 30 minutes in the car was not great on an already long road trip. We came back almost an hour later and load and behold only 1 room was ready. They asked if we could come back in 1-2 hours! So I took the first room knowing that they were most likely not going to be near each other but we needed a room for the kids asap. We got to the first room, the refrigerator was leaking, the carpet all around the fridge was soaked. I put towels down and they turned brown/black. The bathroom down at what we believe poop smeared on the back of it. And there were ants all along the AC unit. 2 hours later i went to see if the other room was ready, thank goodness it was and asked if we could just all stay in the new room. I informed them of the fridge leaking and lack of cleanliness. They did allow all of us to stay in the same room with a king bed, Queen pull out couch. Our new room appeared cleaner and the fridge was in working order. We asked for linen for the pull out couch they gave us 1 sheet no pillows. They said "I'm sorry we don't have any more linen or pillows". Their room service is the orderin.com which is just like DoorDash. They bring food from a local restaurant but way more money than DoorDash would have been. Upon leaving the room for check out we were looking for all our belongings and found someone else's tank top and underwear BETWEEN THE SHEETS of the king bed. That we slept in. So they most likely didn't change the bedding and we slept in it. read more

First a bit of history: We travel.. A LOT. 95% of the time we are on the road because of my work. We have lived or visited over 42 states and have lived abroad for years So we know travel and what hotels are good. Now I am not sure what hotel those other people stayed at but this was a great hotel. Granted it is not the Plaza hotel in NY City (which we have stayed at) but it is a great and fun place over all. Just wish the guests were better people. First ALL the staff were friendly. We found that if you are friendly with people they are friendly back. These people were great from day one. The hotel was clean. The cleaning staff were always busting their tail to keep the place clean. It is a thankless job for the many times, especially what they have had to put up with. I saw what people did and it was just not right. Never had a problem with our keys except I had one of my keys against my cell phone all day and it lost it's code. BUT that is expected if anyone knows anything about technology. Desk people and the staff were totally awesome. If we had a problem they were there and made sure it was right. Always asking if things were going good or if there were any problems. Over all it was a great stay. Not a new hotel, but good clean decent room with a fridge that worked and microwave and comfortable beds and pillows. ANYONE that complains about this place just do not travel enough because we have been in some really bad places that were expensive hotels. One Crown Plaza hotel in a city charged us $400 a night and beds were horrible and toilets did not work until they fixed them the next day. No help from that place..but I digress. We will be staying there again because business takes me back there for awhile and it will be our new home until whenever. Great job people. read more

This hotel completely depends on your expectations. If you book this place expecting a 5 star at $300 a night you will be greatly disappointed. Now if you need a cheap place that's not too bad then this is great! Pros: There were no noticeable bed bugs or bugs in general. Staff was friendly enough. Rooms had a microwave and refrigerator and tv. Internet was fast enough. Cons: The room was a little beat up. There were noticeable cracks in the ceiling. It also looks like they recently re finished the ceiling. Spots where it looked like someone punched the wall. There was an unprotected outlet behind the night stand. In one of the two rooms, the air conditioner didn't work. The door in the bathroom was stripping up from the bottom, I'm guessing from moisture in there. The biggest problem was that there was a stain on the mattress. It appeared to either be blood, or coffee. Couldn't tell, it wasn't a large stain but noticeable. I can't comment on the free continental breakfast, we were gone before it started. I wanted to give it 4 stars but I just couldn't. Again it all depends on your expectations. We went in being afraid that it would be a trash hole and we were pleasantly surprised. For $50 a night (AARP discount) you get what you pay for. With that being said I would definitely stay here again for that price. read more

Pretty much the only positive about this place was that it didn't have bed bugs. I guess it was cleanish and a cheap place to sleep but that's about it. The customer service was either terrible or nonexistent. We showed up after a long drive on Friday night to be told our reservation was cancelled because we hadn't checked in by 4pm. Excuse me? Then rather than try to make it right, the desk clerk argued with us then finally after some words, gave us our original reservation. How kind. When we went to check out, no clerk was to be found for 20 minutes. After trying to call the hotel desk while we were standing at the desk waiting, we ended up having to leave and call later to make sure that our check out actually occurred. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Yea because my feet are the most unsanitary thing on the floor. So I go put flip flops on... What's the difference... Both rooms we reserved we're dirty and didn't seem like they were cleaned properly due to things we found left over and outdoor pool was cloudy and dirty looking and no hot tub and no towels at the pool and the hallways stunk and the hot tub that was in our suite looked dirty as well! We had to take our family to another hotel for the rest of the 3 days of our vaca about 1/2 hour away and there was also no food and no where to sit for the breakfast in the morning there as well. And all the rugs in the facility were also dirty looking too. Not a good experience at all and we will def not be back there. read more

Like many other Yelpers have said, good for a cheap place to stay. I was in the Columbus area for a last minute trip for work. Overall, It wasn't the worst hotel I've stayed in, but it's definitely in need of some improvements. To start, after checking in and carrying my bags up the stairs to my room (the elevator was on the opposite end of the hall) I get to my room where my room key wouldn't open the door to my room and with the TV being on the room, I can only assume it was already occupied. Back down to the check in desk to be placed into a new room. Strike one. The second night I get back to the hotel after dinner and the whole hallway reeked of pot. Not just a slight odor like you'd expect, but full on contact buss from it. Strike two. Finally after dealing with the contact buzz, I get to my room and lay down in bed only to hear a car in the parking lot blaring their music. Chalking it up to someone just arriving and hoping it will end soon I ignore it. 10 minutes later with the music still blaring I decide to look out the window and what do I see? Two people right below my window with their truck doors open STARTING A GRILL TO COOK WITH. Seriously who does that? Strike three. The topper on the cake was when I went to grab a bottle of water late at night from the vending/Ice room only to find that their idea of vending was a couple of gum ball machines. I realize that the hotel is not at fault for all of these, but with them ignoring all of these issues (believe me there is no way they couldn't be aware of them) it made it difficult to give them more than 2 stars. The rooms were clean and well maintained for the most part, but the staff left a lot to be desired. I'll be taking my business elsewhere next time I'm in the area read more

The good - large room size; comfortable pillow mattress, free breakfast. The bad: halls & elevator were dirty & needed update. Water dripped in tub & sink. The strong odor the cleaning chemicals emitted. The ugly: TV - had a tv, but in order to get it to work, you had to unplug it, then manually turn it on a few times for tv to work (learned this trick from front desk). Internet Service: Very difficult to connect - Friday night - not able to connect at all. Plus once connected - constant ads popping up & over any content you were trying to read. read more

Friendly staff. Looks like an older hotel that has been refurbished probably a couple of years ago. Carpets need to be cleaned. Some furniture needs to be repaired. Breakfast is minimal. Internet is overloaded because of low-bandwidth. The internet is so slow that I can't even log on to get email. read more
