Located inside the mall on the upper level. Short walk to get here around downtown. There's a line to be seated. Luckily we only waited 5 mins. They have fun stickers inside for $2 CAD. The servers were nice. The interior is small and you're seated closely to people. No restroom inside that I was aware of. The best part of the Tonkotsu Ramen was the egg. It had a nice soft texture. The taste was delicious. Good soy flavor without being a salt assault. The noodles reminded me of instant noodles. The soup was good. You'll be happy with the meal if you're really hungry.

I went to this ramen place with my family during our Banff trip. The restaurant quite small with some regular tables and bar tables. I saw a long line after left. Their price were reasonable. The service was okay, they moved us to another table after 10 minutes we settled down, but understandable. I ordered the classic Arashi and it tasted great! The sesame base is not overpowering and the spices are just right! My sister ordered the yuzu ramen. It was okay. If you prefer rich soup base, then don't order it.

This is a small place but their food makes up for it. Got the Arashi Ramen and didn't regret it. We had to wait a bit cause it was busy but their service was pretty fast.

We decided to try this place after reading all the great reviews, though it was a little tricky to find, it's located upstairs inside the Sundance Mall complex. The restaurant is quite small, but the line moved fairly quickly. That said, by the time we left, the line had gotten even longer. To be honest, I'm not sure it fully lived up to the hype. We visited on a surprisingly warm day in July, and unfortunately, there was no air conditioning inside. It was uncomfortably hot, we were actually sweating while eating. I ordered the Arashi signature ramen while my husband opted for a rice bowl and a tofu salad since it was just too warm for soup. The food was okay, but nothing particularly memorable, though that could be because we're used to some pretty amazing ramen spots back home in LA.

We got recommendations from everywhere for this ramen spot in Banff so we had to give it a try. Happy to say that it lived up to the hype! The ramen here was awesome, great portions, fresh ingredients and the broth was flavorful and rich. The noodles were delicious as well. Really liked their regular Ramen Arashi over the Arashi black even though both were good. Service was friendly and top notch as well. Recommend coming on the early side for dinner because once we were done there was a huge line!

Great service. The egg was very tasty. If you're looking for a warm bowl of ramen, this is a decent place. There's a good amount of tables so hopefully you won't have to wait long. It wasn't too loud here either despite the tables being close together. The restaurant wasn't too hard to find inside the mall either. I got the original tonkatsu ramen. I think next time I would choose a spicier option.

Location - It's inside Sundance Mall. There's another one in another mall. That one is the "Express" version. Then, they also have a small hole-in-a-wall/kiosk type store on another location. The Vibe - Typical ramen place vibe. Service - Friendly enough. On time. We got served pretty quickly. Food came out in a good amount of time. Food - Here's the thing. I noticed that the food types and flavor profile between the food we found in Banff and food we would normally go out for at home are very similar. Nothing unique, is what I'm saying. BUT, as our trip was going on, I found this to be OK. Good, even. Because it was not difficult to find food that my daughter liked. For me, the ramen reminded me of home. Noodles were firm, not mushy. Broth was nice and thick, just how I like it. The flavor was good, in the sense that it was familiar. It's one of the things that makes me recommend Ramen Arashi as a good place for ramen, and Banff as a vacation spot for families. It's why I would go back.

This is a little ramen spot jammed into a pretty small space on the second floor of a shopping complex in Banff. There was a wait on the benches outside to be seated, but the line moved quickly and honestly that took me right back to waiting in line for ramen in Japan. Inside, the dining space is tight but tidy, and I heard a lot of Japanese in the air, which is always a good sign. All legitimate ramen spots have a specialty, so of course I ordered their signature dish, the Arashi. Very competent and tasty bowl that once again put me in mind of Japan as I was eating it. Held up well against the bowl I had at Ichiran in Kyoto. I liked the peanuts in this a lot more than I expected to and will probably have to steal that for my home version. Quick service and a fair price in a tourist-heavy area.

I really enjoyed the Ramen Arashi in Canmore that I had it again while staying in Banff. This location is located inside the mall and is just as small. There is no sign-up sheet. You just stay in line. I had the spicy tonkatsu and the takoyaki. The spicy tonkatsu had tonkatsu broth with spicy miso, pork belly, half an egg, seaweed, and garlic. It was a little spicy for me and I didn't even mixed all of the spicy miso in my broth. The pork belly was delicious and melt-in-your-mouth. It was delicious, but i prefer the arashi ramen I had before. The takoyaki wasn't cooked all the way through. One piece was still cold, but they remade it for me. Service was great. There is no bathroom inside. You have to go to the one in the mall, but that one was closed for cleaning when I went.

Arrived for lunch and waited a moderate amount of time. First come first serve based on waiting on the benches outside the restaurant. No waitlist We ordered three bowls, the spicy to katsu, black tonkotsu, and I got the signature arashi tonkotsu. They were sold out of karaage. Service was good, food came fast, and everyone was nice. All the employees spoke Japanese. My bowl had a lot of toppings, an interesting one was the peanuts. I've never had a peanut topping in tonkotsu before but it honestly wasn't bad. I personally prefer thinner noodles but the noodles were thick and paired well with the thicker tonkotsu broth. I enjoyed this bowl, it was good! Honestly one of the better tonkotsu ramens I've had outside of Japan and definitely above my expectations for a ramen shop in Banff Canada. I think the amount of toppings were a little distracting from the broth and noodles and the broth itself was a little thick for me but just a personal preference. The chasu meat was delicious and generous. I'd return again if in Banff.

The ramen itself is great, and that's what my rating is based on. For a tourist small town this is pretty decent. I ordered an Arenshi Ramen with extra egg. The broth is pretty unique. It's thick tonkatsu but with a peanut butter flavor. A slight kick. I like it, it works and it's not like others. The pork belly slices were also pretty good. I think other ingredients work well too. The egg is OK, not too bad, nothing stand out. Noodles is chewy and goes well with peanut butter sauce, though I normally like thin noddles. HOWEVER. The sides (takoyaki, Karaage) were just OK and the service confusing. They never brought the greeen tea that we ordered nor edamame, and confused my friends order. They charged for those items though. Not sure what's going on with that.

There are lots of good places to eat in the town of Banff, so when I saw the long line waiting to get in to Ramen Arashi, the type of joint you might find on the back streets of Tokyo, I was like oh no no no. But then I noticed the majority of the people waiting were the type who, you might say, know a thing or two about ramen. So we stayed, and waited, and eventually ate the most satisfying and delicious ramen I've ever had.

A small ramen shop upstairs in the shopping strip. There was a wait even during off lunch/dinner hours! But definitely shorter than during dinner time. The broth really hit the spot after a cold day of hiking. The noodles could have been better. But the pork and karage were cooked/fried perfectly. I liked both of the broths we tried. I'd definitely come back on the next trip! The service was quick and efficient. Pretty typical of busy ramen shops that turn tables around quickly!

May 12, 2026. Everything about the Maple leaf was…read moreoutstanding! My wife enjoyed a nice sparkling Prosecco to kick off the evening with our nice-sized Prince Edward Island oysters. We then shared a Waldorf salad, which was refreshing and nice. Then we both selected red wine varietals grown in Canada. I had a Cabernet/Merlot blend which was super great. Would've never guessed it was from Canada. Next, My wife enjoyed a Pinot Noir that was light and complimented our entrée perfectly. Our entrée was the fillet and prawns served over a garlic mashed potato. This is an absolutely extraordinary dish. We shared it and it was just enough for two people. It is a full meal for one person. The filet temperature preparation was perfect. The prawns were extraordinary, and the garlic mashed potato made you curl your toes! Then we closed the evening with the melted chocolate soufflé, which was divine. Here's the one thing that they missed and to me it's an important miss. They use an automated system for taking reservations. And it kept asking for my name to which I said "Chris" and the automated system kept asking me what's your name!? So it asked hey fourth time and in my frustration I got playful and I said "Big Daddy." And it happily received my name and took my reservation. And then asked if there was any special occasion and I said yes my wife and I are celebrating our anniversary. I get that it may not seem normal to say "Big Daddy party for two". So I'll kind of let that pass because neither front door or upstairs Host was willing to ask. But what I don't like that was missed was our anniversary wasn't acknowledged. I was a server for years, and every host gave the server some type of chit or note to let them know if there is a special occasion. We specifically selected a higher end restaurant for anniversary. So somewhere in there, even if you weren't brave enough to say "Big Daddy for two." Someone still should've checked if you were celebrating any special occasion to which we were. Our anniversary. Our server was fabulous. She was super kind helpful and shared about her experience being in Banff. She made us feel great. My overall experience, the Mapleleaf is a great restaurant. But I'm scoring you an A- because you missed our anniversary. and that's why we chose you. So if you're going to use AI, you can't miss special occasions. Chris & Trisha from Long Beach, CA
