My favorite ramen spot in NWA! We had an amazing waitress who wasn't overwhelming and checked in with us maybe twice so my friends and I could enjoy our meal. I had the veggie ramen like always and it didn't disappoint. My fiancé had the hakata tonkotsu and he loved it! Also if you're looking for a cocktail try the mango sake sour, it was delicious! I've been here several times, and still order the same veggie ramen bowl with gluten free noodles because I love the chewiness of the noodles, not because they're GF! I've had the pleasure of talking to Inggit, the owner about their made-from-scratch noodles and broth, and why the easiest way to craft food isn't the healthiest or even best tasting. Ramen Nara could've cut corners and increased their profit margin by using instant broth and sub par ramen, but they didn't - and that speaks volumes to a Foodie like me. I've been to my old hometown and tried JeJu Noodle Bar in the Village, and Milkwood's Shoyu ramen, and while they're both definitely worthy of their Michelin star and "Best of Louisville" ratings, Ramen Nara holds its own among their peers. But the best part is that Ramen Nara is 10 minutes away from where I live and work! Beat that with a chopstick! Their appetizers are varied enough that you can try a new one each time you visit, and appreciate the depth of talent in the kitchen. I'm limited to the 1 vegetarian ramen option, but always change it up with the add-ons like nori, eggs, garlic chips, etc - so it doesn't feel redundant. Trust me when I say that if you're going to have carbs, then don't waste it on starchy potatoes, cinnamon rolls or pizza - bring your appetite here and you won't regret it. Not every restaurateur can share his knowledge of the origins of ramen (surprise, it's Chinese - introduced to the Japanese a long time ago) or the mission of bringing honest ingredients and culinary talent to elevate ramen above the standard fare of every college kid with a microwave. Sure there will be others jumping on the ramen bandwagon, but this one's a keeper and an original in my book. read more

TLDR Solid ramen place, minding the options in NWA. Came here for the soft opening and were first turn off from the limited choices, quantity of meat in the ramen and awkward service, but after being around for a minute and craving ramen, we decided to come back. 2nd round (month or two later), we revise our feedback. this place has a consistent broth, improved and great service, and variety of noodles now. We usually get the tonkatsu with thick noodles, and only wish there was more chasu pork - you need to order 2x extra sides of pork to make it similar to any ramen shop in SD. Super over priced for quality of food...understaffed, dirty glasses..... Never took one dirty plate from my table or offered to clean up the bowl of noodle juice and glass of coke spilled on the table.....meal was over $90.00 bucks and the piece of chicken in my soup looked like the cook had it in his back pocket for a week before I attempted to eat it.....vomit.....you may enjoy it if your hammered drunk but if your looking for a good meal look elsewhere they are serving Bowls of noodles for steakhouse prices....my god I cannot believe I just paid to eat that crap.... read more

I got the miso ramen, the noodles were navy and chewy, which is perfect for the broth. The miso was super rich, buttery, and creamy as I always hope for at ramen shops. The chashu was thin but still juicy and delicious. If I had to nitpick one thing, I'd like a more marinated and flavorful ajitamago. But the egg was still boiled nicely. Service was great! I live in Kansas City but will visit again next time I'm back in Bentonville. So happy someone opened a ramen shop in NWA! This lived up to expectations. read more

The perfect spot for dinner during our vacation - which happened to be right before the big snow storm in February! The menu was impressive, with several delicious sounding options. The cocktail menu was also intriguing - but we skipped on drinks. I had the creamy miso ramen -- so good, so creamy, and so garlicky. It was definitely on the richer side, but the balance of the flavors was amazing. My husband got the seafood ramen and loved it - it had a great variety of toppings and flavor. We started with the octopus fritters, because based on other reviews they seemed to be popular! It was also something new for us, so we decided why not! They were perfectly fried on the outside with a bit of chew of the inside. It was one of my first times having octopus, and I enjoyed it! Great service and friendly staff! I'm not sure how this place has a 4 star review I have eaten here three times and it's always been the worst Ramen I have had. I keep trying it hoping it gets better. I love Ramen and I can't understand the reviews it's not good. It's depth is 0 the noodles taste like Sun noodles but as much as they skimp on broth I don't t think they are. My ramen tonight was plain chicken broth, with seafood that wasn't cleaned. It still had grit and sand in it. I really want local places to survive but again three times and I'm out. I can't give a 4.5 so a 5 it is. So I came back to this Noodle bar after the soft launch and was pleasantly surprised with the updates as well as the consistency of service. The sake selection was also delightful. The fact that they actually customize your ramen to your liking means a lot. You can virtually set up any of their ramen on the menu the way that you want to which for me is solid. They have seasonal ramen that they change which is also a nice improvement as well. The noodles for me are sometimes more al dente but this is where the customization of cooking them a little longer or having more broth or more noodles is so nice. Their Gyoza was quite good as well. Ramen Nara's Gyudon is back! Gyudon is a beef and rice bowl. I lived in Japan for a while and loved eating Gyudon at restaurants like Matsuya, Sukiya, and Yoshinoya. I've always been on the lookout for a good version in the US and have never found one... until now! If you want a filling, satisfying, delicious meal, order this. When it comes out, give the bowl a shake to appreciate the jiggle of the poached egg. Use your utensils to split the egg and enjoy the yolkiness of what is about to happen. Move the pickled ginger to the rim of the bowl to enjoy later (or don't). Mix up the rice, beef, and egg to create a complete bite in every bite. Sweet onions, fragrant rice, mouth-watering thin sliced beef, and a little egg in every mouthful will transport you straight to the streets of every small and large city in Japan. This is the best ramen in Northwest Arkansas. We've tried a couple other places around, and none of them can compare in flavor, service, and delivery. My boyfriend and I come here almost every week. The #1 is my go to, and he switches between the #2 and the spicy seafood ramen. The pork gyoza is always perfectly crispy, and their drinks are great too. Just happened to drive by and see the place, so decided to stop. It is not on the main road, but only about a block away. Being just off the beaten path may be why they weren't busy, but doesn't bother me. We were seated and waited on fast, and it was a Friday night around 7:30. That just doesn't happen around here anymore. We started withe the potato croquettes. They were fresh, slightly crunchy and good all around flavor. I would recommend them. Next up, spicy curry seafood. I got to chose the spice level, and 2 seemed right tonight. It was perfect level. I could feel the heat, but didn't break out I'm a sweat. Noodles were great (I think they are made inhouse). The broth was rich and there were ample amounts of seafood. Overall a pretty good meal. I am no expert on authentic Asian food, but ran into a coworker there that vouched for the authenticity. Prices were right, service good, and food was slightly above par. In my mind, a 4 is above average, and they definately deserve that. May even go to a 4.5, but can't use decimals. read more
