Rip off prices in the bar and especially the restaurant. Rude staff(Not all of them). Their steak used to be $48 and quickly went up to $60! Manager mistreats people. I have read the reviews and have to agree with many of the negative ones. There is great potential for this venue but I think new ownership would be required for the potential to be achieved. First, the good news; excellent sound system. Very tight bass, clear clean vocals, drums and other instruments. Mix was great, Now the bad news. 1. Doors open at 7:00, main act came on at 10:00, website said 9:00. Door ticketing process was slow and disorganized. We purchased on-line but that did not make it any faster. 2. Opening Bands: first band was fair to poor, Second band was very bad and played for almost an hour. Did I mention that once you leave the venue you cannot return? So if you wanted to go outside to get a break from the band you could not get back into the show. The only place to escape the second band was the smoking area, i don't smoke. I get it, it is a concert deal with it. Trust me, this was not a deal with it situation. the band was that bad.. 3. Owner: Spoke with the owner about how bad the second band was and he said it was a matter of taste. The owner told me he was a guitar player. That is when I told him that he should have known better than to book this band. The band was a local band and the owner was trying to get Ramona locals into the venue but they really were not good enough to be playing at this show. Owner wants one thing: he wants you inside ordering drinks and food while waiting for the opening act so he keeps you there for a very long time. It really was ridiculous.. 4. Booths can be reserved at about double the ticket price but there is a problem, the booths bench seats are very uncomfortable and half the seats in the booth face away from the stage. That is right; your back is to the stage for half of the seats in the booth. I do not know who designed the layout but that was a big mistake. So you could reserve a booth and show up for the main event when you like, but if I had reserve a booth and showed up at the time posted on the website for the main act, I would have had to still listen to the opening acts for an hour. So why purchase a booth? 5. Seating: Most uncomfortable bench seats I have ever sat on, the bench seats reminded me of the fold out couch we have ail slept on, the one with the bar that is right in your back except that the bar is right on your ass. Bottom line, Place has potential if the owner can pull it together. I would call before buying a ticket to find out about start times and seating for the show you want to attend because it appears for the posts that sometime all tables are removed and the only seats available are the reserved ones. Went to the mainstage tonight for a friend's birthday party what a big disappointment. The owner is a douchebag the way he talked to the customers and us at the bar very unacceptable and unprofessional they ran out of food and very poor service from the owner. We waited for food for an hour and a half it never showed up and the people that did get there food said it was horrible I will never go there again. read more

Wow reading these reviews makes me laugh...seriously where do you think you can go see shows like eddie money, lrb,marshal tucker etc for $35.00 and not have standing room only? Even at some of the shows where there is seating many people prefer to stand anyway. Its a great place to see concerts and comedy and will certainly stand the drive "all the way to Ramona" many more times. I have been to many great venues throughout the world. I am from Austin, Texas and have been to astonishing venues from New York City to Nashville, Austin, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco. The Ramona Main Stage is an amazing entertainment travesty! Where else in the world can you see the top touring bands in the world for only $25 to $35 a ticket and see them in such an intimate room with such a great sound system. There are no bad seats in this place! The 20 to 25 minute drive from Sandy Eggo is well worth the prize waiting for you in Ramona. You will not find a better sounding room in San Diego County and this is perhaps the best entertainment value in the world for the level of entertainment that is playing here at such amazing tickets prices. You might be able to equal the quality and amazing prices, if you went back to 1975...Maybe! Please notice that every single negative review involves someone being upset about having to wait in line to see a top touring band at ridiculous prices. You can easily get tickets online to avoid having to wait in line for tickets and there are no bad seats in this venue! The venue looks exactly like it is depicted online, so those complaining about such a beautiful venue with a world class sound system are obviously very negative about everything and completely unaware. They would be hard pressed to cite any other venue offering such great pricing, concert intimacy, venue quality and overall sound. When you disc a place for not giving you a front row seat for $25 and complain, because you had to sit two rows back, you obviously are clueless! If you doubt the quality of artists performing at The Main stage, then just check out the lineup of great artists hitting the stage in Ramona! I don't know if the sound this evening is indicative of the particular band (King's X) or of the house sound man, but it's a pleasant surprise to not have my ears destroyed by unnecessary high frequencies and/or excessive volume. Saw the Heart & Hooves Therapy show "Memories of Elvis Presley" here this past weekend. The acoustics in this place are great! Kudos to the sound guy who made things not too loud and extremely pleasant. The only beef I had was with the booth we were in not being too comfortable. Could use a little more padding for the rump area. I also think drinks are too expensive but I know they are running a business and have bills to pay. Other than that, I think it's a great. My family and people who work for me had a great time there. read more

saw the steely dan tribute band last weekend. first visit to this club. nice venue. issues: on the top of the bar in the lobby is a TRUMP 2020 re-election red hat. Below this is a drawing of a machine gun. this is a club not a place to make a political statement. This is in bad taste. If the owner wants to get a crowd from San Diego, the hat and hate should go. I got there an hour early to get seats, there was 1 bartender for 25 people and i had to wait 15 minutes to order 2 beers and a brisket sandwich. By the way the brisket sandwich was very tough and mostly fat, i had to spit out the fat. Don't think i will drive the 30 miles each way again. Plenty of clubs in San Diego. now i see all the bad revues below. same complaints, bad food. i forget about the dirty bathrooms, t.p on the floor, no soap in 1 sink to wash up. wont go back i think you should stay away. read more

I wasn't too impressed with this place. It's clean and has a nice sort of art deco-y theme going on, but the food and drinks were disappointing. The food was cheap, frozen, pre-packaged stuff you'd expect to buy at a movie theater. The only alcohol they had was beer and wine coolers. At the end of the show, the sound/lighting guy went so crazy with the fog machine the place looked like it had caught fire. this place is the real deal! It favorably compares to the Coach House in Capistrano and the early days of the Belly Up. we were there Friday night and the joint was rockin'! A very good local band, Malaki, opened the night and it flying and Pato Banton came on the the show went into orbit! I've gotta agree with previous reviews, the sound is very bright.....some carpeting or sound attenuation blocks on the walls would clean up the sound, but the owners have done their homework with the basics of the PA system. The stage has enough size for a large band, with horns and back up singers, you could even do a small book show. I have to admit that it took a while for me to try the place out, it bein' in Ramona and all, but this place is a nugget in a pan of mud. If you need to eat, there's diner food next door, lots of mexican places, pizza/italian places and a fair sushi bar just down the road apiece. As someone has mentioned, the Ramona Valley Inn is next to the Sizzler, but it's well worth walking 25 yards east to the burger stand. There are good rooms available out in the Estates, so if you're gonna make a day and night of it, it's well worth the time. yeah, we'll be back. read more

The MainStage (BBQ) staff and product are extremely disappointing! They ran out of food, they were rude and threatened and insulted people in our party(25) people. I will never recommend this as a place to go. In addition they are overpriced. It ruined our friends birthday. The food that was available was bland, dry and cold. It took 2 hours to get our order. Drove up from P.B. to see Marshall Tucker. Got there 2 hrs. early to get a good seat. First one in line. Did the same thing a couple of months earlier to see Little River Band. But this time when I get in there are NO seats. Standing only. And the backup bands friends has the only front row seats. Where did it say standing only on the web page? NOWHERE? Try to talk to the owner about the lack of info and request a refund. Other people come up and want the same thing. Blows us off rudely. No way to run a business. Karma baby! read more

My husband and I went to Mainstage for dinner and cocktails only because every other establishment in town had a line waiting to get a table. Mainstage was empty except for 2 tables on a Friday evening. He ordered the tomato bisque, which was only so-so and jumbo scallops. After waiting 45 minutes the waitress brought shrimp instead of scallops. She took it back and brought him clam chowder while he was waiting for the (not so jumbo) scallops. He had already had soup and he doesn't like chowder. I ordered the $60.00 2lb lobster. The shell was huge but they are seriously starving their lobsters. It was undercooked, tasteless, and hardly any meat. She apologized but didn't offer to take it back. The chef did bring me 5 little bites of lobster in a delicious sauce but not $60.00 worth. The owner was there, he seems to make his staff very uptight. Overall, we spent $175.00 for a terrible dining experience. Not because of the waitress, she was very nice. When we left there was only 1 table occupied. That being said, next time, we will wait in line somewhere else. read more

First off, I have never written a negative review for anything on the internet. I'm not sure where to start when it comes to describing the terrible adventure I had at the Ramona Main Stage. I purchased my tickets online and the site mentioned picking up my tickets at will call. The show started at 7pm so I got there at 6. Just a few people in line in front of my girlfriend and I. They did not open the box office until 7pm and it was totally disorganized. My girlfriend and I are still laughing about the old guy in the booth not seeming to know what to do and the guys who appeared homeless wearing the security shirts. We are finally let in and there must be over 100 people still standing behind us, so we go directly to the show floor to find a table and realize that the interior does not resemble the great venue picture they have posted on their site. Most of the tables are gone and all of the few remaining tables have reserved signs on them. The owner, who it turns out is quite rude, is yelling for people to stay out of the reserved table area. There is an area in the middle that I guess they are going to cram everyone into to stand! It's at this point I realize that all I want is my money back. More confusion with the old guy in the booth who finally directs me to the owner. Once again, the owner becomes rude stating Eddie Money wants everybody to be standing. I finally get a credit on my card and leave. I noticed other people at this time were also starting to grumble. Not sure how many left after us, I can only assume it was quite a few. Nowhere on the website did it state there would be no seats and that we would be standing, which I could have understood had I arrived late. We were there an hour early and there were no seats. I will never go back. The owner is definitely deceiving folks with the glowing pictures of the venue on his website. I should have read one of the many poor reviews of the place before buying tickets. My fault. I'm going to check now that they didn't charge my card twice. They asked for my number on line and once again we arrived. Wouldn't put it past them to be running a scam there also. read more

Great little venue but the sound needs a bit of work. It's improved since November but still could use some fine tuning. It's a good size and everyone is friendly. Stage is a decent size for a small venue. Easy to talk to bands after they've played. Security don't bitch at people asking bands to sign things. We experienced this venue for the 1st time last night to see Marshall Tucker. We will never go back. Truth in advertising was lost here...6 tickets at $35 each was a total waste of money. Two in our party decided to leave shortly after the music started, feeling like they had already wasted $70 and didn't want to waste 4 hours too. We were in line an hour and a half early to secure good seats, only to find out there were no seats, unless you had a connection it seemed. Mind you we called earlier in the day and were told we should get in line early...No clue that their normal floor plan had been abandoned.Other patrons looked equally surprised and disappointed. We overheard some asking for their money back and were turned down. If you were sitting you couldn't see over the rest of the crowd who had to stand in front of the few seats there were. Lines for beverages were long and equally slow. The lead singer for Marshall Tucker should hang up his tambourine. The only redeeming factor for this otherwise ridiculous attempt at staging a concert, was the saxophonist/flutist for the band...He should be playing for another high profile act! No stars from any of us. We'll save our money for the Belly Up or Anthology. read more

i to with my wife went to see marshall tucker band saurday night, ticket says show starts 7pm so we got the at 6pm stood in line like till 7 went in to get a seat but the was none so we ended up sitting on a bench in the very back then a band comes on at 8pm im thinking warm up play 30-40 mins marshall tucker by 9pm but oh no another sucky band comes on at 9 pm by the way the sound was way to loud bass was uncomfortable loud . i went to ask sound person if the could turn it down the girl sitting there said she'd tell the guy when he came back , never did , sound got louder so i go out side saw the hand stamp guy and said wheres marshall tucker , he said they come on at 10pm i said screw this and we left at 9:30 . never did see what i paid for so now i am going to call my credit card company ,fill out a form for a refund , i suggest any one else like the 6 people sitting next to us do the same thing . pros....not much cons.... sound way to loud , you couldnt even hear what the singer was saying they show chairs on there web site and there is none inless you pay $275.00 for a table of 6 i wonder what the fire marshall in ramona would say bout no clear isles . all in all the worst place ive been to to see a concert and ive been to many . i wont be back ....this place sucks!! read more

Saw heavy metal headliner MSG and openers Taz Taylor and Symbolic on Sunday night. We were expecting this night to be long,hot and tiring since I had not been there before and have been to some of the SD downtown venues which leave a lot to be desired. As soon as I got in (with my husband) I said "this place is a nice venue." I was thankful to get a coffee ($3) because I was already tired when I arrived at 7:15 pm. The AC was very effective so we were comfortable all night. I had not been to Ramona in a long time and it has grown a lot. read more

We just had our son's rehearsal dinner here last weekend. We are out-of-state and did not have a chance to try the food before-hand. I was so amazed at the quality of the food and the service was excellent. The venue was so much fun as the "concession stand" is the bar and the theater lighting made it look really special with the minimum decorations we did. We had 50+ people. Even though they can accommodate much more, it was nice for everyone to have the space to mingle and walk around and not be confined to their seat. Sound system was great and they provided a mic for speeches. I highly recommend them. They really took a lot of care to make it easy for us. read more

I had the pleasure of seeing Tab Benoit jam at the Ramona Mainstage on 9/06/13. My only reason for withholding a star was due to the confusion regarding general admission tickets. The Mainstage website does not make it clear that there are a limited number of seats available and only those patrons arriving early enough to obtain one will be able to sit for the concert. For a small additional price per ticket, there are a few booths which seat 6 people, but they sell quickly. Drinks and tickets are very reasonably priced and while it has been in business a few years, the Mainstage is so well maintained, it looks brand new---particularly the sparkling bathrooms---a refreshing & greatly appreciated change from the usual concert venue. I tried to find mention of food available for purchase on their website, but I couldn't locate any info on the site. The night I attended, the only food for purchase was nachos and hotdogs, so be sure to have dinner before arriving and get there early unless you are up for standing for 5 hours. read more

I have been to several shows at the Ramona Mainstage and have been pleased every time. I have seen live bands including Eddie Money and John Waite, a comedy show and with the persistent urging of my friend midget wrestling. The Ramona Mainstage presents a great variety of entertainment that is reasonably priced and fun. They serve some food, including pizza, which I thought was good and 20 oz. beers for between $5 and $6 depending on your brand choice. There are other food and drink options too. Many people seem to have the impression that Ramona is incredibly far to drive to. However, those same people will drive the same distance to get to other areas of the county. It's a mindset that may keep some from experiencing this an ultra cool venue. It's beautiful! You can see photos on their website, but it's even better in person. The Ramona Mainstage seems to have been designed in a way that there really doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. It has a stellar sound system, great stage and friendly employees. You're not going to spend a lot of extra time driving around looking for parking or having to pay for it when you do find it either. There is free parking in the adjacent lot, as well as all around on the street. And as I mentioned before great shows! read more

DO NOT SEE GIRLS NIGHT OUT/ HUNKS: THE SHOW! I am beyond disturbed at the actions of "Magic Mike" at the Ramona Mainstage, CA GIRLS NIGHT OUT show on 10/15/16. The self proclaimed leader of the show was coked out of his mind, was disgusting, and a complete ass hole to many people in the crowd. He was really rough with a girl on stage for his first dance and when the next hot seat section for him came up no one got in line (probably because they were scared). He began talking shit to the audience, flipped us off, and guilted people into getting in line. All the girls he came in contact with after that were abused in ways I was not ok with and could not watch, about half the audience got up and left- including half of my group of 8 that were there for my birthday. The rest of the performance he kept calling us rude bitches and completely took the fun out of the show. He was obviously on a lot of drugs, was very unstable, and his anger came up continuously on stage while he aggressively groped, spanked, and whipped girls with his belt. One girl said something he did not like from the audience and he made fun of her for the rest of the show, demeaning her based on her appearance, cussed her out, and had her removed from the show. I witnessed "Magic Mike" treating the Ramona Mainstage staff of servers and security like shit and they were not happy about it. Girls were approaching the security guards asking how they were letting this guy act that way and they said unless someone straight up asks for help, they assume it is part of the show. I talked to one of the dancers to let him know that he and the other 2 dancers were great and fun, but we were leaving early because "Magic Mike" was such an ass hole and I could not near to watch the abuse anymore. They understood and said that they tried to talk to him about it backstage but he freaked out and it only made it worse. The one guy mentioned he was quitting the show asap because of this guy. There were points that looked like he was raping the girls on stage and he was totally into it. It was extremely disturbing- but some sick women were still into it I guess. I wanted to let you know that this evening was supposed to be a fun event, but it was not at all what I thought it would be and I was embarrassed that I organized this for my friends. Also, I bought the Groupon for this show which was a $30 meet and greet ticket with an autographed photo. There was no meet n greet and the photo given was a shitty post card with guys who were not even in the show. I found out if we would have paid at the door it would have only been $18 each, so on top of the horrible show, my whole group was also ripped off. The owner of Ramona Mainstage also ripped us off on top of the ticket price because I had reserved a booth over the phone and when I got there, we did not have a booth. I had to pay him $40 more so we could have a "reserved" table which he said had drink service. There was no drink service, we all went to the counter for our drinks, and I talked to other tables who got their tables for free. The owner was shady and rude, and disappeared when I tried to find him later to complain. I will be demanding a refund from Groupon or will dispute the charge on my credit card due to the overcharging, and not being able to stay through the show due to the actions of the asshole in charge. You have to do something about the false advertising of your show, shady ticket prices, and this "Magic Mike" wanna be freak. He ruined the night for many people, including his co-stars who suffered financially because so many people left the venue. I also am sending this to Groupon and the Girls Night Out company to make sure everyone knows how horrible this night and this show are. read more

Felt so bad for the staff of the Mainstage, who by the way handled the situation calm and professionally even tho some of the patrons were RUDE!. All good because opening bands rocked it! Attended for the first time to watch a great program of performers, my friend Gary Hoey, RDG and the outstanding talent Taz Taylor on Saturday. Was thoroughly impressed with the facility and their promotions. Originally a movie theater lovingly restored in an art deco style, the Ramon Mainstage features careful attention to acoustic control and a very sophisticated sound system. Those elements residing within a relatively intimate setting allowed every note of the artists to be rendered clearly, both from a listening and visual perspective. Even the bathrooms were luxurious for a live venue and that about sums up how much care the courteous owner has put into making this facility a first class operation. Plans are in the works to offer more beverages and future bookings are impressive. We are sure to be there again soon. read more

All the seats are great, a wonderful sounds system, dance floor and raised seating so even with people on the floor, the view is not blocked. The Ramona Mainstage is a hidden gem. This venue has been remodeled for music performances and is clean and stylish. The seating is comfortable and sound quality is great. We heard Daytona and the Blues Rockers and then Eric Sardinas last Saturday night and they were both fantastic. This venue books classic rock (remember Molly Hatchet) and more current groups. I highly recommend this site. Please help management keep the drinks prices down. read more

I love it that they used the AC as opposed to 4th&B and House Of Blues who would rather have people collapsing due to the heat than turn on the AC. Great sound and views of the stage. Ive seen about a dozen shows here and have enjoyed my experience there every time. Only Paul DiAnno was a disappointment as a performer but, that's not the venues fault. The negatives are the pizza there sucks and prices on beverages is a bit high. I just stop at Boll Weevil on my way in to avoid this. I live in OB and it takes me as long to get here as it does to get to The Coachhouse in San Juan Capistrano and its not as easy a drive as jumping on the 5 North/South. If this place was located where Brick By Brick is it would be perfect and THE concert venue in San Diego. One other thing I hate is getting stuck watching 4 or more warmup bands at shows(Not just here) because most of the time only the headliner and 1 of the warmup bands are any good and driving home in the fog down the winding mountain road at 1am makes it too long a nite. Headliners should play 9-11pm.10-12@ the latest. Overall, this is a great venue in a poor location. read more
