Based on one of the previous Yelp reviews my wife and I decided to try Ramona's Cafe in West Nyack. Definitely our new go to spot for breakfast. Next we'll try lunch. My wife tried and loved The Prettiest French Toast (actual name - which was huge) with berries while I had a 3 egg omelette with cheddar cheese and sausage (came with toast and hash browns). The omelette which was absolutely delicious stayed hot through my entire time eating due to the serving plate being heated before serving. Obviously they pay great attention to detail. I did sample the French toast and it was outstanding. The servers were polite and there when you needed them but did not hover. We met the owner Ramona who was pleased with our comments. Will be going back soon, my wife said next week. read more

Traveling through and trying to find a place to fill our bellies between Long Island and Ithaca and this was the perfect little stop. You never know with these hidden little diners but this one was a gem. The eggs, omelets, pancakes were perfectly cooked and delicious. The caprese salad that my husband ordered looked amazing. Service was amazing! Cute little place that you wouldn't even know was there. There is parking to the side of the building when you come up the driveway. The food was delicious. We found this Café while visiting family in NY. It is the perfect, home-town type atmosphere to have breakfast or brunch. The service was wonderful, all smiles and very friendly. The atmosphere is such a cute lil mom and pop family vibe. The food is home cooked, flavorful, and a good size portion. The employees are amazing. 2 great servers. The chef was nice enough to help out and take our order while everyone else helped elsewhere. As a server- that's respectable. Anywhere I've worked chefs don't even offer to help. Super cute little hidden gem. I found it when I was at the Palisades mall on Yelp searching for something to eat, and I'm so glad I did. When we got there, it was pretty much empty, but it filled completely while we sat there. Apparently, this place can get really busy although it's tiny inside, with maybe 5 tables. If I could give this place more stars, I would. Let's start with the ambiance. This charming restaurant, in a historic building, is always clean and well put together. Fresh cut roses adorn each table with white linen tablecloths and napkins. Frank Sinatra or other classic crooners charm you gently from the stereo and sitting down, you feel like you're at the classiest joint, despite how small the cafe is. There is a deck for those warm, sunny days and I have often found myself doing work or just relaxing as the delightful smells waft out from the kitchen. That brings me to the food. OMG. I honestly wanted to try everything on the menu, but I'm a terribly picky eater. And I found my favourite thing in the turkey chilli, a blend of meat and beans with the subtle spices tantalising the tongue. It's become my go to. I've also had the pancakes which are perfect and fluffy, and the sliders which were tasty even for me, who is not normally a fan of beef. Everything I've opted to have has been fresh and cooked to perfection. Segue into my next topic, the staff. From the first day I walked into Ramona's I felt so warm and welcomed. It was my first day at my new job and I found it entirely by accident, tucked away a couple blocks from my office. Ramona is just lovely and bubbly and wonderful. Her son, Chris, is the cook and is quick with a smile and a kind word. I love chatting with Laura, the waitress and overall just spending time at Ramona's is never a hardship. This is a gem in the rough. I passed it by the first time because it is set back behind a building. Today is the third time I came to this restaurant each time the food was excellent.So far I tried the soup which was a nice squash creamy soup & turkey chili for lunch. Ham with Brie on nice bread. French toast breakfast nice touch with strawberries and blueberries. Friends had omelette with vegetables, daughter had Hawaiian breakfast everything wonderful. I found out about this cafe while browsing Yelp for a place that had outdoor seating. I am so happy I found it. This place is a hidden gem. My friend and I went for lunch and found that the breakfast and lunch menu were available. She ordered the avocado toast and fruit parfait, while I got the Aloha bowl with pernil and the French grilled cheese( Brie with apricot preserves). The food was amazing! Everything we had was beyond our expectations. The pernil In the Aloha bowl had so much flavor. The parfait has honey in it which made it mouth watering. We were so impressed with the food!! The restaurant itself was very nice. We sat outside on the patio, which had great and comfortable seating. The service was excellent as well. The woman there was so kind. Cutest quaintest cafe in rockland. Appears to be an older building, maybe a home that was converted into a cafe. It's so hidden you wouldn't know it existed unless you heard about it from other people or where most of us found it - yelp. The food was so good I've been coming here every weekend. I was first introduced to this cafe about a month ago by a friend. All I can say is this place really blew me away. Between the friendly service, quaint intimate atmosphere, and the quality of food, It's truly a hidden gem. I wanted to wait before writing this review to see if the overall quality would stay consistent and it did. I will say on the weekends when it's much busier, you will have to wait for food but IT IS WORTH IT. The chef, I believe his name is Chris always puts 100% into every dish. Its a small family-owned business and the food is amazingggg and very reasonable in price. Coffee is great too. Leo has always been my server every time I go and she is the cutest person ever. Very friendly and is always attentive. The mom and dad of the business are friendly and I always see them checking in with the customers. As another reviewer mentioned, the yogurt parfait was really really good - perfect mix of sweet and crunchy. Specific callout on the French toast. The best I have ever had (borrowed some from my younger son). Thick, tender, soft middle. Perfectly cooked. Very small, intimate place. Nice servers. My friend and I had the pleasure of experiencing Ramona's today for breakfast. Tucked away in a converted beautiful 1860s era home, The ambience the staff and the food more than definitely lived up to expectations. Although fairly busy especially for Thursday morning, we were greeted warmly By both the server and then the owner Ramona . We were promptly served with delicious coffee with Ramona describing the moonstruck breakfast which as it turns out was is something great to eat. Next to us a father and his children each ordered the pancakes and French toast. The kids (loudly lol) couldn't stop talking about how delicious it was. I am NOT a current or former employee, I'm not a competitor or anything of the like. I am a FORMER customer who has been to the location over 10 times. The owner may recall my wife calling to reserve a table and being told that it was too many people, when my wife questioned why, she became irate and said don't come here anymore. In addition... The chef is very rude to the wait staff and the food takes forever to come out. If you come here with more than two in your party, at least one of you will be watching everyone else eat. I've been here several times and the waffle maker doesn't work all the time. The pancakes and waffles are made with Aunt Jemima (or whatever it's called now). I saw the box in the kitchen. If you have a food allergy or need something prepared in a different manner, they are not happy about it and don't hide it very well. read more
