An overall nice experience on a Friday morning at this little old casual cafe; they're only open 8-5 except Sundays. They also do catering. Breakfast is served until 11:30 and they have a a few egg dishes, breakfast sandwiches and French toast. We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and liked the egg, potatoes (mixture of white and sweet, which was nice), and toast except the toast was hard pieces of baguette ($10). The omelette with potatoes was a pretty plate and good even though the cheese was initially forgotten. They also have sandwiches, salads, burgers and pizza on the menu, the latter of which is made in a brick oven. The pastries didn't look that fresh or enticing but we didn't order any so can't comment on the quality. There's indoor and outdoor seating and service was very nice. They have a shared parking lot with other businesses and more parking out back. Very close to Hungry hollow food coop so make a stop there if you have time! read more

I love coming here. Grab a pastry, any pastry at that cause I haven't had one that I didn't like. I was surprised when I had one with cheese and spinach or broccoli and it was amazing! Also if you're gonna order a cold brew ask for the HOMEMADE sweet cream to top it off... so good! The service is always great! The ladies up front are always patient and kind. I ended up here one day for lunch. The pizza, salads and wraps oh my. They have a wood burning Pizza oven tucked off to the side. Love!! Prices super reasonable. Then l discovered breakfast and their fresh brewed coffee. I'm obsessed with their batardes (a mini baguette). Sometimes it's a fried egg with American cheese, sometimes I add sausage and sometimes extra crispy bacon. The egg is cooked perfectly to my liking. They leave it a tad soft inside so if you don't like it that way you'll need to ask for well done etc. They always use fresh and local ingredients which i really enjoy with their salads. read more

My French toast ended up taking about an extra 5 mins than his. Hostess was not too warm or welcoming but the food was still tasty and the mochaccino tasted good too. Dave and his whole staff are amazing. Two aspects make this the best place in Chestnut Ridge. The first is the workers. We go in every Friday and sometimes more. All the workers know us. They Ask about our kids, our family, our jobs. It's so nice to have a place like this that is family friendly and personal. The second is the food. The bread and pastries are amazing. I was at a festival and ordered 3 pizzas, waited over a hour. After an hour I was told by an employee to give them 5 more minutes. When I return and ask for my pizza the employee who took my order would NOT talk to me. Another employee which was a rude and disrespectful young lady tells me she gave my kids all 3 pizzas. I showed her who my kids were and it would be impossible for them to carry the pizzas. She said it wasn't them but it's too bad for me and gives me my refund. A hidden gem! I have driven by this restaurant several times and never had time to stop in. After hearing rave reviews from coworkers, I finally gave it a try. It is now my go-to place for lunch. I love this Cafe! The moment I stepped foot inside I was warmly greeted by a kind woman named Bennett, she was very helpful and she catered (pun intended) to all of my needs. In addition to the workers up front, the staff back in the kitchen was extremely friendly as well. A man named Mike, a woman named Angie and another man named Edgar, all of whom are excellent cooks, and even better people. On top of that, the X factor of the entire cafe is a man named Dave. He is the heart and soul of the entire cafe and he puts his family, employees and customers ahead of himself and is never happy until everyone around him is satisfied.
