    Pineapple Express

This was my first time dining at this FW restaurant. We came here on Saturday noon for lunch. Before heading to the restaurant, I joined the queue from their website, so upon arrival we got a table right away, despite being super busy and lots of people waiting. The parking lot in front was full, so we had to park couple of blocks away. The restaurant had a bright modern dining space, lots of windows, sunlight and industrial interior. They had a bar like table for anyone to sit and dine on first come first serve basis. The menu had all the familiar dishes similar to other locations. They had a seasonal menu as well. I ordered the new Pineapple Express that was delicious drink. For entree I got the Chimichurri steak with egg hash. Took about 10 minutes for the dishes to come out. I was surprised to see it was a mixed ingredients plate instead of steak being in slices. Regardless, the dish looked so pretty and colorful with all the sweet peppers, cheese, spinach, roasted onion and potato hash. The cubes of steaks sort of blended with the potato hash. But overall I liked the dish and pretty finished all of it. The waffle my daughter got was also good. Our server and the staff members were very friendly. For checkouts, they had QR code in the receipt, so I was able to pay right away from my phone and leave. A convenient process that every other restaurant should try to incorporate. Overall a really nice brunch spot with good quality food and drinks.

Starting the day at First Watch is refreshing. Taking the menu for a spin, you'll soon see fresh takes on classic morning dishes including carne asada breakfast tacos and cinnamon chip pancakes that taste just like French toast. The wait staff are kind and friendly and provide great suggestions. The large windows throughout allow morning light to brighten your day while sitting at the broad reclaimed wood tables. What really sold us are special drinks like the Tangerine dream made from Tangerine, pineapple, and ginger topped with a smooth cold foam. We also had the purple haze derived of lemon, cane sugar, butterfly pea flower tea and lavender. A great find.

This is a great place to go to for brunch with friends. They have a wide range in their menu and everything is pretty yummy. I can't wait to go back!

Smoked salmon eggs Benedict was tasty!

My wife and I had a nice Mother's Day breakfast at First Watch. My wife had been to the restaurant a number of times before. First time for me. Have to say, the signing in via internet works really well. We avoided a lengthy wait. Big, open, bright, and pleasantly decorated. Our waitress was friendly and professional. My wife enjoyed the meal that included eggs, bacon, home fries, and toast. I enjoyed the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. I also really enjoyed the home fries. Great seasoning. Definitely nice to have this option in the area!

For most restaurants that serve three meals a day, the day is long and grueling. But not at this establishment, one of the fastest-growing restaurant chains in the U.S. Named after a nautical term for the first shift of the day, translating to dining out at breakfast, my partner and I have returned to First Watch, located at The Shoppes at DePiero Farm in Montvale, since our last visit a year ago. Upon arrival, one has the vibe of a rustic farmhouse that is spacious, warm, comfortable, and filled with light because of all the large windows. The décor is totally charming with hanging Edison light bulbs and the antique doors suspended from the ceiling. We were greeted by the host, Tracy, with a wait time of 30 mins and got a table in the middle of the spacious dining room. The menu features breakfast, brunch, and lunch specializing in healthy, made-to-order dishes using the freshest ingredients with vegan and vegetarian options. We decided on the Monterey Club sandwich, accompanied by a green salad and Biscuits and Gravy with Eggs. Our meal was amazingly tasty with the right amount of seasoning and very generous portions. They don't have any deep fat fryers or heat lamps in their kitchens, either, so one won't leave the restaurant feeling tired or weighed down by a heavy meal. The price was comparable to the area. It was crowded, and the staff were friendly, polite, and accommodating; our server was Samantha. We can continue to recommend this place.

3.5: I've been here a decent number of times now and will add that they've made a lot of mistakes on takeout orders so I would recommend dining in to get the better experience and the better food. The quality of their brunch pales in comparison to other local brunch places but it's not bad (eg., omelets arent fluffy). They have a reliable menu of egg and breakfast and some lunch items. The coffee was very weak though!

Went here for a last minute solo breakfast date and I was not disappointed! The inside is nice and homey without really feeling like you're dining out. My server was very good except I didn't get any water upon arrival. He did immediately asked me about any other beverages and I opted for an iced coffee, which he warned me came sweet, but it honestly hit the spot. I also got the Morning Meditation juice and it was so yummy! I tried to savor it but I took it down in like 5 gulps. As my meal I ordered the Frittata Rustica, it comes with a side of toast and either potatoes or a mixed greens salad, I opted for the salad but I wish I got the potatoes. The salad was very lightly dressed so it was kind of dry. The frittata was so good with the kale mushrooms and caramelized onions then a nice kick of parmesan as well. Overall, my meal was great and I'd definitely come back either with friends or even solo again!

I've eaten here twice ,and I've really enjoyed each visit. Menu is diverse, staff is friendly, and the restaurant has a rustic feel. I love the morning meditation drink! it sounds like an odd combo, but it's delicious! Portions are large, and I haven't had an issue with the quality or temp of my food. Great place to also sit and have coffee. Plenty of parking available as well.

It was a 30-40min wait to get a table so we shopped around the center for a bit! The host (Papi) was very friendly and hospitable. Our waiter was super busy running around. The food came out fast - faster than I expected considering the wait.

Cool spot! I've been here a few times before. It's great to catch breakfast with some of my favorite people and catch up on life. It can get crowded. They don't take reservations but you can go on the website and put yourself on the waitlist so you're in the queue before you arrive. Our server Pete was awesome. We had the Avocado toast and a side of million dollar bacon. The toast is great and comes with eggs any style.

They said a wait of fifteen too twenty minutes but we got sat right away! One of the workers had looked like someone famous thought that was cool!Waiters came right away and took our order. It was busy so it took a bit for the food. The place was interesting hanging doors and lights but it was cool I liked the ambiance. The food was great so filling. We got the million dollar bacon it was so good the sweet and spicy flavor was magnificent. The lemon ricotta pancakes were amazing so good made me so full. The waiter was amazing she was so nice! Overall it was amazing they should open more places.

Today had a great time at the Montvale location. We were greeted with a nice welcome. I really needed coffee and our server brought it to us right away. I enjoyed my elevated egg sandwich. My husband always orders the same 2 eggs with a waffle. I also like their blueberry muffins. Also the kale tonic. Looking forward to our next visit.

Recently visited when in the area. Waited 15 mins for a table it was busy right at peak brunch time. Not bad wait at all for how packed it was. Food was really fresh tasting the lemon in my dish could be smelt a table away. Food was good and the price was reasonable. My GF got the avocado toast and it was like 3inches thick of avocado. Friendly staff.

    Overcooked and burnt home fries.

It's a gastropub, of which I've enjoyed from time to time. The food is good. They have good burgers. They have good other stuff. The interior is rustic. It's Smokey from the drizzle and sizzle of cigar smoke. The upstairs rooms are pretty chill. The patio is poppin' with businessmen, businesswomen and locals. Not that I take notice. The empanadas would have been very good if cooked a bit longer since they were a bit gummy inside. The shrimp ceviche was served in red sauce and was absent of a decent amount of shrimp. It was tasty but more of a salsa rather than a ceviche. The rib special lacked the promise of the flavors of the chipotle bbq sauce that was promised and described in the menu -- the pork lacked flavor. The chicken Milanese appeared to have been deep fried in a fryer rather than pan fried per tradition. This made the thin slices a bit tough and chewy which was unexpected. Disappointing that I didn't listen to my server who tried to steer me in a different direction as he advised. We haven't been wowed here the last three visits but will give it another shot in a few weeks to see if things have changed for the better. Listen to your servers, people!!

I suggest you head towards the houses, away from town, if you can't find a spot. I've been anxious to try this place as the pictures look solid enough and reviewers thus far seem content. My wife and I entered with plans to have beer and apps. We ended up getting Guinness, onion rings, fried calamari and the Cooper's Burger. You can't beat a 22oz Guinness for $8. The prices on their website also match what you'll see inside. Lately I find so many restaurants are charging more than they advertise online. Service was great, friendly and very attentive. I was also surprised to see how well they clean tables between customers. Spray, wipe table, wipe lamp, shakers, etc. It's totally clean for the next customer. There are only 8 or so tables in here, plus bar seating. We enjoyed some comfy seats at a high top table for two. The onion rings were great - crisp and battered nicely so they hold together. While almost a little overcooked, they were still good and better than I had at the last high end steakhouse I went to. The fried calamari was fairly priced and a good portion. It had a light crispness, though bigger pieces would've been nicer. They were mostly small, but certainly a lot of it. The accompanying marinara was good and plentiful. We got the Cooper's Burger cooked medium and it came out medium. It's a simple burger that comes with lettuce and tomato. Some red onion wouldn't been nice. They charge extra for all sorts of stuff you can get on top - fried mushrooms, fried onions, eggs, etc. It also comes with fries, which were good. Overall, it was a nice cozy time. Several middle aged couples ate here that night and a couple small groups. No loud bar crowds as they're all on central avenue. In fact, I was surprised how nice the acoustics were inside. You can hear people at your table no problem, can hear the music inside at the right level and don't hear a lot of background chatter or noise. I'd most certainly return if in the mood for pub food. And ... No credit card fee!

We ordered Nachos for an appetizer and they came out cold. Cheese on the bottom was melted, whatever crap they put on top was ice cold and not melted. Not sure if this is the way they make them ordinarily, but I've never eaten nachos with cheese that was not melted ... we sent it back to be reheated and got a face from the bartender about it... didn't bode well in her favor but more to come on her shortly. Next both of us got The Godfather sandwich with added chopped bacon... it came out undercooked in some parts of the meat hut after the face for sending back the nachos, I sucked it up and just ate the edible parts... in addition to this though, they don't serve it closed. It is not an open faced sandwich, but served open-faced...not terrible, but just weird to me. Probably to prevent room on the plate for more fries to be added. So now the meal has ended, we ask for the check and notice a couple of unusual charges... I had 2 Belvedere and 7up w a lime and my wife had two Spicy Margaritas. We were each charged $25.00 for our 2 drinks...no issues...where it gets nutty is the additional separate charges listed vaguely at $7 and $4. Now the complaint isn't about cost per se, but rather the sneakiness and seemingly dishonest approach by the bartender that was unnecessary. My wife questioned the charges and we were told some nonsense about having to up charge because it was a larger glass for a margarita and it doesn'tcome in a smaller glass...WTF? First off, she didn't ask for a larger glass. Next, why isn't there just a charge for a margarita at one price? If you only serve it in one size, why do you need an up charge on a taller glass? That was the explanation for the 7.00 charge, 3.50 for each drink she had. The 4.00 charge I couldnt even make sense out of ... she explained that it was because margarita's have more than 1 liquor so she had to add an additional liquor fee. What in the holy hell is going on with the pricing for this drink???? So now as far as I can understand we have a $12.50 FLAT fee for a margarita according to its initial charge on the check. Then 3.50 extra for each drink because it is served ONLY in a pint glass... and a $2.00 per drink for extra liquor because more than 1 type of alcohol was put in the Margarita... so now a $12.50 Margarita on the menu becomes an 18 dollar upsell when no one asked for anything larger or additional, other than the way it should be poured according to the drink menu... it was sneaky, underhanded and it made us feel like we were targeted as unsuspecting patrons who wouldn't be back again and the upcharge didn't matter. Well she was right and wrong... wrong that it doesn't matter and was not wrong to do, but she was right that we won't be back again

The restaurant is very pretty overall, though the interior is quite dim, making it difficult to read the menu without additional light. The tables were also placed fairly close together. Our server was polite and welcoming throughout the evening. We started with the Korean fried chicken and tuna tataki. The chicken was moist and coated in a sweet and spicy sauce. The tuna tataki was flavorful; however, the taro chips were very thin and tended to break easily when holding the tuna. For our main courses, we ordered the Icelandic cod, rigatoni, Freebird chicken, and a side of whipped potatoes. Dessert was the hazelnut chocolate crunch, which was a nice way to end the meal. Overall, the food was enjoyable. That said, the pricing felt more in line with a fine dining experience, while the atmosphere and service were closer to an upscale casual restaurant. Some small details, such as the whipped potatoes being served without a serving spoon, stood out. While minor, these details can make a difference, especially at this price point.

Drove by this place soooo many times and was always curious to how it looks inside. ITS ADORABLE!…read moreWent during a snow storm and it was beautiful with the fire place glaring, lights dimmed, sipping on an ice cold beer watching the storm? Yeah it was PERFECT! Plus the service was on point with friendly staff members. The chicken buffalo dip was tasty as heck. It wasn't oily like many dips and it just felt refreshing? If I can even use that term while eating a dip lol had the roast beef and it was delicious. The meat was tender in this gravy like sauce, the grilled veggies went well together. The turkey burger? Sorry but was pretty dried. Either they over cooked or added too much breadcrumbs? It wasn't very good but doable. I would def go back and check out other dishes or head to the opposite side for the bar. Fun, cozy, romantic scene happening here. Not bad at all!

I also liked the pizza, I think it was called the Bee Sting? Nice flavor, would eat that again. Otherwise we did not enjoy our experience. We were seated underneath a vent that continuously sprayed water, at one point right into my food. No thanks. I ended up sampling the kids' macaroni and cheese, which was utterly bland. The salad portion was skimpy to boot. On the whole, we felt no need to return. Maybe you will have (or have already had) a better experience. But with so many options out there we will look elsewhere.
