I purchased a manual 2014 Mazda CX-5 earlier this month from Ramsey Mazda. I wanted to give them 5 stars, but the dealership left a bad taste in my mouth for several reasons. The salesman was new to the dealership and was unfortunately not very knowledgeable about the cars. We were able to strike a good deal, but in the end they still overcharged me by ~$200 in their additional fees. Unfortunately, I didn't see this error till after the papers were signed (my negligence). Secondly, I test drove the car with Kumho tires, but when the put "new tires" on my car they put cheep Solus tires on. The Solus tires are rated extremely poor and when I complained, they spoke to me in a degrading manner belittling my concern. The only reason I did not return the car right then and there was because it was a manual transmission and they are extremely rare to find. Lastly, when Mazda sent me an email survey to fill out, it was address to the wrong person. What other information have they entered incorrectly?! Between the poorly trained staff, unprofessional upper management, sneaky fees, and cheap "upgrades" I can unequivocally say I will never return to Ramsey Mazda nor would I refer them to my worst enemy. read more

I had a terrible experience with Joe. He quoted me at a ridiculous price and proceeded to tell me he doesn't "walk back and forth and do the numbers game". When I asked him why the price was so high when i was quoted much lower on a model that was only $2,000 less and that I could go get a luxury car for that price I was met with hostility and encouragement to leave and go do that. I did just that!!! He was completely unprofessional, condescending, and beyond delusional. Avoid this dealership at all costs!!! There are many Mazda dealerships in the metro New York area don't choose this one. I had communicated with the dealership through their internet sales team member who set an appointment for me to test drive a specific car they had advertised online. When I arrived the sales person they set the appointment with had no clue I was coming, no clue what car I was looking to test drive. We walked outside to look at the cars I pointed out the car that I saw online first he tried to tell it was not the car because the ticket price was more than 1k then the internet price. I had to go as far as bring up the picture from the website to prove this was the car I wanted to test drive. . He went inside to find the keys was gone for a long time, after what felt like a lifetime the sales person came out to tell me this car has already SOLD but he was going to show me another one (had none of the features I was looking for not that he would know because he didn't even ask). They full on tried to Bait and Switch me. When I told him that was not what I was looking for and that I was very disappointed that I drove so far his response made no sense he commented on my looks saying I was such a beautiful lady something like that. If I was a man you would have never responded that way. So after driving the 40 minutes to come to this specific dealership I left not test driving one car. This whole experience is just one of the many reasons it's so difficult as a women to buy a car. I drove over to another Mazda dealership the same day it was night and day that dealership had the car I requested waiting for me to drive the sales person treated me with the utmost respect and we made a deal I go pick the car up today. Car online looked nice, in person there wasn't a place on the car that did not have some type of damage or scratches that were pretty severe, also car was way overpriced for the damage on the car and the shape it was in ... many other cars in way better shape priced at the same or lower.. experience was sub par not really a help with anything had to do most of it also was tried to be convinced into buying warranty that would raise the car payment a lot that was really not needed that's was auto insurance is for. Would not recommend unless you wanna be disappointed, was not a huge suprise to see all the bad reviews on yelp about this place. read more

I found out about this dealer because they came up on truecar.com (Zag) as having a very competitve price for a 2011 Mazda CX-9. I called in advance to confirm the price, and asked to speak with Robert Wood, Internet Sales assistant as indicated on the coupon. Well, what do you know, they suddenly "did not have any more 2011's" in stock, even though I had just made the quote a few hours earlier ! Asked how come they still get listed there for that price, he admitted that they use that site to advertise. This is called false advertising - advertising that you have a certain product and you don't. I asked them to please give me the price for a 2012 Mazda instead - he said he couldn't do that, that I had to come to the dealership. I explained that I live 1.5hrs away and that I didn't want to drive all the way over there just to get a quote. He was completely inflexible. There are reasons that there are laws against false advertising. Places like these break them, and they should be reported to BBB and fined / not allowed to operate. read more

I traded in my car here to lease a new CX-5. I am from New York, and I told them numerous times that the state does NOT automatically send me the title for the car when it's paid off. They said it was fine and they would deal with the finance company to pay off the car and get the title. Me thinking that this is a car dealership, they must know what they are doing. So I left my car behind and drove off in a new CX-5. I was contacted shortly thereafter by Willy the salesperson and told that they could not obtain the title and they needed ME to get it. This was after being told that they would take care of it the week before when I bought the car. So I contacted the DMV and was told I had to pay $20 to get the title. I relayed this information to Willy and he reassured me that he would reimburse me for it. A couple weeks later once I have the title he he tells me to use their UPS account to overnight the title to them. No surprise, UPS tells me I cannot charge it to their account. Fast forward a week later I drive over 30 miles to take them the title. I arrive and gave the title to Jim, the manager. I ask to see Willy to get my $20 that I was promised. Willy then speaks to Jim and says they are not going to reimburse me because I should have had the title in the first place. So, despite me telling them from day one that I didn't have it, and that they would take care of it, I had to go out of my way to give them the title on the false premise that I would be reimbursed. If I had known that this is how this dealership conducts their business I NEVER would have given them my money. *update* Yes, I certainly did curse as I was walking out of your dealership, as opposed to cursing AT someone while I was there. I personally drove there to hand in the title because UPS said I could not use your account to charge the shipping fees, so please don't make it seem like I "declined" to have it sent with them. I was not ABLE to send it with them. Of course I would have preferred that instead of having to go back personally. It was falsely represented to me that I would be reimbursed the money. Simply put, if no one had told me I would be reimbursed, this frustration would not have occurred. It was Willy who stated I would be reimbursed, but then changed his story when I was there in person asking for the money. As a dealership with an "excellent reputation," I very much thought that I could believe what I was originally told. Simply put, you seem to be misunderstanding why I am upset. My issue is not with the bank, my issue is with the false representation provided by your salesperson. Again, if reimbursement was never offered in the first place, this would not be an issue. This review is based solely on their sales department. I had an extreme satisfactory experience with their sales staff. They were reasonable and accommodating. We went forward and made a deal to purchase the model we wanted in one of the three (of six) desired colors. Unfortunately, after a few weeks, they were unable to provide the car we wanted and, with our old car on the brink, we were forced to look elsewhere. I actually bought a car from them, but I am not satisfied. From beginning to end I was not treated as a valued customer. My very first interaction with them was decent, but when I came back to actually buy the car I felt like I was treated like a nuisance by the salesperson (who was different from the first one) The business manager was nice enough but when the day came to pick up the car, even he was just going through the motions. After my purchase I tried to get a hold of the business manager again because some work-related changes due to COVID-19 had me concerned about my purchase, and never heard back from him. Eventually I decided to reach out to one of the two sales people I talked to, who told me a Sales Manager would get back to me. No one ever did. Lastly, the day to pick up the tags came. I arranged a time to meet with the salesperson I had interacted with the very first time (since their name is the one on the purchase order) When I got to the lot he was nowhere to be seen and it was his colleague (that I'd never met before) who helped me get them set up. All in all it was a fairly terrible experience. Nobody seemed to care one single bit about me as a customer even though I fairly quickly bought a car from them. Do not recommend. read more

I'd almost feel guilty if I didn't write a review dealing with my experience at Ramsey Mazda. After being jipped by Jack Daniels Kia in Fair Lawn, I was very wary of car dealerships but I have to say, dealing with Ramsey Mazda was unlike any experience that I've ever had. I dealt with a guy named Victor who was fantastic. He wasn't like most car dealers that I've dealt with and was the total opposite of pushy. Super relaxed, and did what it took to get the job done to get me a good deal on a brand new Mazda 6. I did everything over the phone, then once everything was approved, I spent about two hours at the dealership and drove off with my new car. I leased a CX-3 Grand Touring from Ramsey Mazda and struck a deal in 20 minutes. I worked with TJ - who is relatively new to the car business - but was professional, friendly AND NOT PUSHY. It was the quickest, easiest, most painless car buying process ever. He didn't jerk me around or waste my time. The manager (I think his name was Wiles) was also really nice! Maybe they should get Jeff back! this is my latest experience Worst service experience ever! Made an appointment for a 2016 Mazda CX-5 at Ramsey Mazda to have the windshield washer fixed. They said the hose was "pinched" by the tap we had against a piece of ice last winter. Made an appointment for when the part may be in. Told them we were going on vacation. They would let us know when the part came in. Three weeks later, called them about the part. They say it came in but we never showed for the appointment! I ask why they didn't call us. He said we made an appointment why should I call you. WHAT?. I made another appointment for a week later. They charged over 100 bucks for the hose. A few weeks later we tried to wash the windshield for the first time since the service. Guess what? yep the washer did not work. Made another appointment for 8am the next week. Arrived at 8am but they didn't take the car in until 11:30. An hour later they tell us its the washer motor that is broken. I ask why didn't you check the washer the last time we brought car to replace the hose? No Answer! I ask, was it really the motor that was broken and not the hose? we paid you over 100 bucks for the hose? no answer again. We make another appointment for the motor because they have to order one. A week later we arrive at 8am and pick up the car at 5pm. No charge for the motor. I expected to get a refund for the price of the hose. That didn't happen. I asked again, why didn't the technician check if the washer worked after they replaced the hose? Again No answer. We will never go back to that dealership again. The end. read more

Best Mazda dealership in Bergen County! My Mazda CX-9 2014 lease was up and went to Mazda Lodi to trade it in because they were closer to home. Welp that was a horrible experience. Mazda Lodi is incredibly unprofessional. It smells of con-artist car salesmen. They try to rush you into a scam. It was gross! We decided to head over to Ramsey Mazda and worked with Justin! He was AWESOME! Worked very hard to get us the best deal possible on a Mazda CX-9 touring with premium package! He even followed up with me the following day! Not going to go into details about my time there on Friday, but the salesman Eric T and the manager Mike were not completely forthcoming (figured that out after I left). I gave a deposit, was told it can be refunded if I decided not to move forward with the lease. Decided the next day not to, called and emailed Eric... Monday gave the credit card # to be refunded. All week, nothing. I call on Friday and was told they had one number wrong, one of the last 4 digits of the card. Those are the ONLY digits that show on a receipt, how did you get one if those wrong???? STILL waiting for the refund. I'd never consider coming back to this place. read more

My Nissan lease was almost over and wanted to step into a Mazda dealership to test drive the cx30 that caught my eye online. So went into this dealership and told them exactly the model and trim I was interested in. I'VE NEVER HAD ANYTHING ELSE THAN A NISSAN. So, all I wanted to do is test drive a car to get a feel of how it drove and see if I should switch. I explained all of this to the salesperson and instead of trying to help me, he quickly rushed me out telling me that I should go back to nissan. Mind you, this is after I told him my reasonable budget being around 3k down and a 300-700 monthly payment. Instead of getting discouraged by a bad salesperson, I called the Mazda dealership of Lodi (the next closest one) and asked if I could test drive the cx30 of I went there. They said yes and I went. When I finally got to speaking with someone face to face, and after telling them what I was interested and my budget, they told me to return when my lease was up and that I couldn't even test drive a car unless I was serious about buying it. That just seems like BS and lazy salesmanship so THAT'S when I made up my mind NEVER TO OWN A MAZDA. HORRIBLE SALESPEOPLE MAY BE A STRONG INDICATOR OF A HORRIBLE PRODUCT. read more

Before I go off on a rant at how the service department literally almost robbed me of $500, I'd first like to say, I love my CX-5 and the sales department was okay, nothing great and I probably wont go back because I didn't find them to be the most honest and my salesman couldn't remember my name for the 5 times I went in there which pissed me off every time. NOW let me get into this horrible service department. Long story short, I went in with a problem, they COMPLETELY 100% made up a fake problem and told me it would cost about $500, then when I brought it to my local mechanic who I've known for years, he fixed the real problem for $42!! So now the long story, I came in because I have a leased CX5 from Ramsey Mazda and the windshield wiper fluid wasn't working despite being filled twice. I came in with my sister and I'm pretty sure they assumed we were two dumb blondes and could make some money off of us. So they brought my car back - and insisted we wait in the area where we couldn't hear them talk - took a peek at my front right passenger side and noticed a very small scratch and probably thought, this is how they could get money. They said someone must have backed into me and cracked my wiper fluid reservoir and the reservoir showed signs of damage. Oh yeah, and that wouldn't be covered under my warranty because it was an accident. So I was extremely hesitant that a tiny scratch could cause a damn reservoir to crack so I went to my local car mechanic because I know he's honest, and he spent 30 minutes fixing it up and tells me that there was a broken hose!!! No problems, no signs of damage to the reservoir!! They fixed it for $42!!! Steam is coming out of my ears! I'm just in complete shock! This place literally would have robbed me of $500! All in all, I can't recommend buying or leasing from here because of the poor, dishonest service you'll get. read more

I went to this dealership twice, and both times they tried to put additional repair/replacement items on the quote. First time I went in for an oil change, they stated that the engine is dirty, wiper blade is old and cracking, and both cabin and engine air-filter need replacement. They quoted me a grand total of $500+. However, I just changed the wiperblade 1 month ago, engine has been cleaned a year ago in another dealership and I was using only Shell 93 gas all year. As a result, I basically ignored all these repair as it's a lot cheaper to do it myself with a $15 dollars engine filter from Walmart. I come back 4 months later for another oil change, with the SAME wiper blade and the 3 months old engine air filter. This time, the wiper blade mystically become fine and somehow the engine is NOT dirty anymore. They still say that the NEW engine air filter is dirty, and list out like 10 other items, e.g. oils, fluids, spark plugs, rear suspensions parts are rusted and busted, engine mount, oil plan gasket that I have to change, plus an alignment which came to a grand total of $3500!!! I know the brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering, coolant, engine belts and the engine mount are critical to safety and engine life so I just let them do it. Ended up paying like $1500. However I got really suspicious and about the other items and also their comment on the engine air filter so I went to another mechanic for a checkup. They said the Rear suspension parts are all fine and the oil pan is not even leaking. The spark plugs are not dirty but they changed it anyways since it's about time. I saved $1850 just from double checking for the last few items on that list that Ramsey Mazda's service depart "recommended". After that, I really think that Ramsey Mazda's service department has been lying to me all along about the other repairs!!! In short I will NEVER go back to this dealership for service again. read more

I went into Ramsey Mazda under the impression that they were a good dealership (they have great reviews on other sites...I assume the dealers write these in their downtime). We were given the whole good cop (salesman) bad cop (finance manager) runaround. We were told the amount we were willing to pay was totally reasonable, and we were asked to leave a $100 deposit as an act of "good faith" while the finance manager contacted the bank the next day to try to work a deal with them. I was also made to feel bad about my credit. They told me it was 30 points lower than it actually is, a fact that was corrected at the next dealership I went to. I was told that this was the best possible deal I was going to get, given my dismal financial situation. The next day, the monthly payment I had been quoted and assured was "no problem" was no longer good. Instead, I was being told that the finance manager had to use his one favor he gets per month with the bank to get us the best deal possible, which was $15 a month more. He told me I had to decide immediately, because he was putting his reputation on the line, and that if I were his daughter, he'd tell me to take this deal, because I wasn't going to find anything better. He told me I didn't qualify for the top tier financing, which the next two dealerships disputed, and in the end, I bought a car under excellent terms. This place uses sleazy, high-pressure tactics and misleading information to make sales. They lure you in with a good price at a good rate, and then try to switch the terms at the last minute. I would advise anyone considering buying a car to steer clear of this place. read more

As a sales professional myself, the sales associate I just worked with is clearly not going to last as a sales rep. I received a quote from a leasing company on the Mazda 3 i Sport w/ no frills ($235 / month with 0 down). I'm a bit skeptical purchasing from a leasing company so I contacted Ramsey Mazda. I spoke to a sales rep and told him what I was quoted, as well as what True Car quoted ($250 / 0 down). He just continued to give me the initial rate ($280 / mo with 0 down) on the same exact car (on an in stock model). He then said, you can put $1,000 down and then we can do $250 / month. Here I am with money and hand and they won't match an on the table quote I already have? Guess cars are pouring out of that lot... read more

Called sales. Horribly rude. They clearly don't like informed consumers - I had the money factor and residual values for my car so I was able to calculate the lease payments myself. Obviously, they quoted a much higher payment despite insisting they were using the same selling price. When I called the guy out on it, he became angry, did the usual fast talking salesman crap, and tried to steam roll me. I remained calm, explained I would call elsewhere, and thanked him for his time. He hung up without a word. I know car dealerships suck anyway, but there are SOME good ones out there. We drove out of our way to go to this dealership on Saturday. We were hoping to test drive the CX-3 and CX-5. Upon entering, the receptionist told us to look around while she found a salesperson. When a salesperson finally came out he informed us that "WE DON'T ALLOW TEST DRIVES ON WEEKENDS and you have to come back during the week." Who ever heard of such a thing. Over my dead body would I ever set foot in this dealership again. We decided to try Wayne Mazda instead. I walked in on a Saturday after 5 not realizing they close at 6. Nonetheless, I walked in with the intention of getting an SUV and even told the salesperson that it would be my primary vehicle. We looked at a few models and I asked to test drive. I was informed they were closing. I am no salesperson, but I am pretty certain that one of the hardest things to do is have first time customers walk through your door and even more difficult to close a sale. With that in mind, I was blown away that the salesperson showed no interest in selling me a vehicle. Jeremy and Brad respected that and did not show me/try to sell me something I did not want. My wife called to get an appointment to fix a recurring water leak under the passenger side dashboard. Before she could make the appointment, the woman at Mazda took the opportunity to berate my wife for giving them a customer service rating of 30 back in November of 2012. It was actually I who gave the poor rating, which I still stand behind. She said, "We can't afford another bad rating." Then she said that she couldn't give us an appointment until this Thursday. For the record, my wife was there in May and said the serviceman on site was excellent. That's why she's going back. That, and we have a warranty, which means work must be done at a dealer. I called to complain to Henry, the service manager, but got nowhere. He kept saying, "We are #1 service in the area." I explained that it seemed to me that instead of using the customer feedback to improve upon your service, they actually use the survey to weed out unhappy customers and make sure they do not return to the service department. That's what keeps the rating high. It was confirmed when Henry said, " If you give us another bad rating, then you cannot come back here." I was flabbergasted. Is that your idea of customer service? It sounds more like a communist country where dissent is quashed. The correct response should have been, "What can Mazda do for you to insure your next experience is a pleasant one."
