I thoroughly enjoyed the food. It's pretty close to a home cooked meal. It reminds me of like a Cracker Barrel except not bland. I thought the food was real good. Portion size makes it a great value. I don't like to throw out 5 star without it being really good. But...based off the peanut butter pie alone it would have been a 5 star. Glad I sprung for that as I got a huge piece and it was legit. Had dinner tonight and enjoyed the typical good country food at great prices. I enjoyed the catfish, Cole slaw, and fried green tomatoes. All very good. Came with great hush puppies. My wife had the pork tenderloin sandwich and said it was tender and very tasty. We brought one of Missy's pies home to share with the family at our granddaughter's birthday this weekend. Another great suggestion found on Yelp. I had a craving for a burger so I searched Yelp several places came up but Ramsey's called to me. I sat at the bar since I am visiting from out of town and bartenders are always full of useful local information. I ordered their burger and fries. Simple meal but doesn't mean everyone knows how to make a simple meal. This place did. I was absolutely content with their burger. I could tell they make their own patties too. I love this place. I'm giving just three stars because when ordering through Door dash my house salad should be more than all lettuce and a little bit of carrot. We got two dinners with house salad it was almost a joke. I love their food though just don't like not getting a decent salad. My friend had the open-faced pot roast sandwich and I had the Kentucky hot brown. Both were so delicious! We both had the fried apples and those were great! I generally have 2nd thoughts before eating here, as we check city health ratings by front door. Usually on the opposite side of door where entering, they don't make it easy to see as walking in. Kinda loose my appetite after reading sometimes. We just elsewhere close. Mops in sink where dishes are, ice machine dirty, utensils not clean, bugs, food not kept at proper temps, and other issues, depends which Ramsey's, but all have some issues. Can't stress enough, read city health score before entering! ....then reasons why poor ratings. We only eat at places where 97 or above. Just be careful. read more

I ate way too much, loved every bite, and had enough left over for an additional meal. They were very busy, but the service was still attentive and very friendly. The fried corn and spinach side dishes were wonderful. I think everything I ordered somehow had bacon in it except the pecan pie. Definitely will be going back. read more

This is a 3 star for me today. My waitress was too engulfed in her friend at the end of the bar to be worried about me. The atmosphere is friendly and kid friend. Very low key for me and not too loud. I asked her recommendation and she gave me so many options my head almost exploded. So I went with something simple. Chicken and dumplings with the corn on the cob (deep fried) and fries. None of them were much to write about. The food came out super quick so that was a star. The chicken and dumplings were standard, nothing made them stuck out. The chicken to dumpling ratio wasn't good. Too much dumpling not enough chicken. The corn on the cob was... well... corn on the cob. And the fries were... fries. Their was a side of the corn bread and that was yummy dipped in the dumplings. If I could give them zero stars, I would. Jordan (youngest son) and I both ordered the Filet Medallions (3 of them) Med Rare - the most expensive item on the menu ($16.99). If they were 2 ounces combined, weight and measures would be way off. No way they were 2oz total weight. A travesty. They were Well Done - basically leather. Jordan choked - Susan (my R.N. Fiancé) had to administer first aid. Couldn't get it out, but Jordan was finally able to clear his esophagus. The Manager comped the entire Dinner, but was indifferent about Jordan's choking. She also said that she would NEVER recommend the Medallions. So - WHY are they on the Menu? Stay far away from this place. Where's an Attorney when you need one? My standards for an old fashioned are pretty low because in NY/NJ, I have to remind the bartender how to make it. Here, they did it right. There is a cute little market next door that sells local food and Ramsey's prepared meals that you can take home -very convenient. So glad we stopped here. My mom and I were passing through from Florida to Michigan and were looking for a local establishment (not a chain or fast food) and hit the jack pot. We had the blackened catfish; moist, just a tad spicy and perfectly cooked. This is by no means a fancy restaurant and the food appearance isn't going to wow you but it is delicious and plentiful. I would highly recommend the yogurt chicken sandwich. This is my mom's favorite restaurant and she always wants to come here. I think the food is alright, definitely not my first choice. This afternoon she ordered the big breakfast and when the food was delivered and we were talking and I wasn't paying attention to her food. Shelly ordered chicken and dumplings. Her potatoes were so burnt that I would have been embarrassed to serve them to anyone, the sausage was hard and soaked in grease. Again a server who was familiar with how potatoes and sausage should look like would of never brought this to a table. Shelly's chicken and dumplings were so salty that she couldn't eat hers either. This is a restaurant that my mom just dearly loves... What was so off this afternoon to make two dedicated customers both say they will not be back. They were offered pie to go for the poor food quality and at that point my mom and I walked out. We did not want pie, pie was not going to make anything better at this point. I have to say I love a good Ramsey's Diner. They are a southern comfort foods type of place. Their missed matched tables and chairs make this place a perfect casual atmosphere. They always have great service and wonderful food. As I had said before they are famous for their comfort foods. Fried green tomatoes, hot browns, yogurt chicken, and corn fritters are just a few of the southern treats you can find on their menu here. Recently I also just discovered their Tomato Pies. These are like a casserole and a quiche had a baby. So darn good. You have to try it sometime. Their chicken n dumplings make me super happy along with a side of fried green tomatoes. Then to sweeten the pot even more, they serve Missy's Pies. I will sell my mama for one of their Peanut Butter Pies. YUM! They also have healthy menu options as well. We went because an internet search led us to believe we could find one of the best fried chicken dishes in Kentucky. Not even close. Don't go if you have an urge for great fried chicken. The menu is nice, good food, and fair service, but certainly not what some of the reviews had indicated. Next time, we'll stay closer to I-75.
