Fried chicken, greens and mac n cheese.
    Rod S.

Not a fancy place in any way but the food is fantastic. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Fried chicken was juicy and tasty. My greens were very good- I like a little more vinegar taste but these were great. Mac was tasty- I would like to get it before noodles softened so much but still good.

Visited MiMi's for Burger Week and enjoyed some truly authentic southern cooking - think Sunday church potluck or a localized (and more flavorful) Cracker Barrel. Mi'Mi's is a walk-in, counter order restaurant located in a strip mall. There is plenty of seating after you order, including room to pull together tables for a large party. The decor is pretty basic, but is clean; honestly, even accounting for that for what you pay it's more than adequate. The price point here is amazing for the quality - it would cost more to feed my family of four at Chick-fil-a! I don't think the staff was equipped to deal with the burger week crowd, and people were complaining about the wait. It took 45 minutes for us to get our food (from time stamp on receipt to food on table). That being said, for a kitchen of 3 people and considering they cooked to order, I'm not too unhappy about the wait. The food: we tried both burgers and cut each into fourths, and also ordered green beans and mashed potatoes. Everything was incredible! Our favorite was the Mac and cheese burger - the Mac was that creamy potluck with some burnt cheesy crust that I just can't make at home. The pickled jalepenos and bacon added heat and crunch, and the bacon was perfectly thick and crispy. The waffle burger was also great and really structured well - while the Mac and cheese was definitely messy, the waffle burger held up to the handheld test. Very creative and our teens love it. I'm going to call out the green beans as the best I've had in Lexington - probably not vegetarian but so juicy and yummy! Our family engaged in the 'great kool-aid debate' - the jugs of koolaid were a great treat, super sweet though. For the record - the pink is watermelon! :) I would definitely come back - probably off peak hours.

Hello one and all. I would love give my honest opinion about MiMis.... If you are looking for lipsmacking southren food this is it!!!! We went for lunch and we're very friendly customers. The gentleman who worked the front was so down to earth and treated us like family. Now on to the food ooooook This is authentic soul food. It's cooked so well very juicy. Very well seasoned. We really enjoyed our nice quiet lunch, I can't wait to return and eat. Here again. The next time we come to Kentucky ...

The fried chicken was juicy and crisp and the Kool-aid was sweet and on point. The service was nice and polite and the place is nice and clean. Not a whole lot of background noise. My only complaint is the corn bread was dense and flavorless.

Catfish with green beans and macaroni

Wonderful food and even better staff! I came in not knowing what to expect but the lady showed me the hot bar. So many delicious choices! I got the catfish with Mac n cheese and green beans and it was OUTSTANDING. I'll definitely be back when I come to town for work!!!! Great home cooked food. Go eat here!!!

Nothing stood out as exceptional. With this as my last meal here in Lexington for some time I made a point of ordering a few extra sides to try. My meal was one piece of hamburger with brown gravy and one fried pork chop. My sides were greens, macNcheese, mashed potatoes l, and corn pudding which was the best of the group. I would give it a second try but yesterday's meal across town was better

We usually eat at a different Ramsey's location, but this was closer to where we were. The atmosphere, service, and food were just as good as the other locations we've visited so we were not disappointed! We had a short wait for a table when we arrived, and I saw a table of women enjoying the espresso martini that I ended up ordering and enjoying. After starting with the Loaded House Salad with blue cheese dressing, the chicken livers were calling my name, along with mashed potatoes & gravy, with green beans. Hubby also had the Loaded House Salad, but with ranch dressing, fried chicken breasts, macaroni & cheese, green beans, and a corn stick. They were out of the sugar free peach pie so we skipped dessert, but we both brought home leftovers to enjoy for lunch on Saturday. Ironically our server Hannah is usually at the location we visit most frequently, so we will look for her the next time we're in that neighborhood.

Except for one couple who were finishing their meal, we were the only ones there. Regardless we had fantastic service and tasty food with the gorgeous downtown views available from the huge windows. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which was HUGE, juicy and crispy. The fries were delicious, a very generous portion and very well seasoned. Since we were celebrating we ordered 2 desserts: the olive oil cake and the 10th birthday celebration cake. The celebration cake was a bit dry, but the olive oil cake was fantastic with a lovely combo of strawberries and pistachio cream. A really amazing cake I wish I could have more. Bye Lockbox! Thanks for the memories.

The vibes and the ambiance is cool and modern, with art adorning the walls (it is inside the 21C art hotel after all). Tables are well spaced out and benches are comfortable. Open and full of light, this is a great space. Service was attentive and helpful. I started out with the sausage balls, made with creole hot honey mustard, dill, and chili. The texture was really hard and while the sauce was tasty, the sausage ball itself seemed to lack flavor. Next time I will probably try to pimento cheese, which the server said was supposed to be very good (he couldn't speak personally because he's not a pimento fan). For my entree I had the pork belly. And I think I am the problem here, not the dish. It's fatty and rich, as pork belly is supposed to be, but it felt so very greasy to me. I ate very little of this, and this is where my fifth star falls off. I should have gone with the burger or berry beef culotte. I also had a side of fries, which as others have noted, are crisp and well seasoned. They were delicious. They have a nice little cocktail list. I had the hattori hanzo, mad with haku vodka, smoked paprika, pineapple shrub, and pineapple juice. I love pineapple, so I loved this drink that was heavy on the fruity flavor. I also had the temper tantrum, made with gin, grapefruit, lime juice, and thyme. A little sweet, a little bitter, which was perfect for this gin lover. It might have been my favorite. And the Scarlet Manhattan, made with old forester rye, scarlet apertivo, angostura, and orange bitters, it was the perfect smoky end to the night. Looking forward to coming back and adding that fifth star.

While they're not on the menu all the time, along with some other specials he sprinkles in every so often,I felt lucky to try them and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT.The greens were fully dressed with onion and tomato just like my aunt used to make and I'm telling you the oxtails tasted like he had an army of country Baptist grannies in the back (he did not). The hot water cornbread reminded me of my moms and the gravy for the oxtails could've been a side all by itself,no joke. I've only eaten like this at the home of an elderly relative,NEVER at a restaurant. It's a fact that not everyone can cook oxtails like this and I can't wait to go back there because those salmon croquettes are in trouble. If you wanna eat and I mean REALLY EAT...you need to get in there as soon as you can. This man,his wife and the staff know exactly what they're doing and they're doing it the right way. I was scared to have dessert because I thought it might put me to sleep after that meal I had and they don't allow sleeping in the booths. I cannot stress enough how good that food made me feel in my feels. The line starts here with mastering the art of home cooking in a very comfortable atmosphere. Great home cooking not at home just doesn't happen, unless you walk yourself in there. WELL DONE and thank you for the experience....I'm coming back for those croquettes,I'm as serious as that gravy was!!!!!
