We love Ramsey's and this location is no exception. Popped in for brunch recently and it was just such a classic delicious breakfast. We did the "traditional breakfast" which is SO MUCH FOOD. Up to 5 eggs along with bacon, sausage, hash browns, pancakes and toast. It's a fantastic deal as well. Everything was cooked perfectly and I had a lovely mimosa to go with it. Start with dessert! The butterscotch pie was fabulous!! I had the chicken and dumplings with the butternut squash and sweet potato casserole as my lunch. It was all good, but the pie is by far my favorite. A friend had the mac and cheese and said although it was eatable it was not as creamy as she would like. She had the combo pie though and it was awesome! My son had a salad and it was good, but he had the brownie pie and it was spectacular. Passing through Lexington and asked some friends for a lunch recommendation- without hesitation we got two votes for Ramsey's. Here's my list of why this must be the best place in town: - Breakfast all day! I want my breakfast at 2pm. Omelet was huge and just the way I like it with the filling mixed in and the veggies were fresh and perfectly sautéed. - Bar with good selection. I like a moderately priced bubbly with my breakfast, husband won't go to a place without beer/a bar so this worked out perfectly - I didn't see a menu online at first but was able to access it when I visited the full site. We went to the Location located in Hamburg in Lexington. When we arrived after 7pm, there was plenty of parking and the Host greeted us very well and was very friendly. We had placed orders in advance for entrees and sides. When we arrived, the food was already prepared and ready to be served according to guests' names by an attentive service staff. While out of town I had dinner at Ramsey's. It is a very casual setting with home cooking located in a strip mall so plenty of parking. Service was excellent, from the girl who sat me as well as my waitress. She was friendly, helpful, checked on me often and kept my water glass filled. They have a full bar, salads, sandwiches and full dinner entrees with home cooked sides. I opted for the grilled Reuben with french fries. The fries were hot but the grease could have been a bit old. The corn beef was very tender but the bread was a bit greasy. Not the best Reuben I have had but definitely not the worse. read more

Oh be still my heart. I love Ramseys so much and having lived so close I frequented this place so often. I can tell you the fried chicken tender salad is AMAZEballs my horse even got into the action demanding his share of the chicken (yeah dont ask). Always got it with the honey mustard and dear God. This place is so cute and friendly. Always followed up with their pies. You cannot leave without a pie and if you do there is something wrong with you. They also are home to the largest hot brown I've ever seen and is a huge crowd pleaser. Definitely put Ramseys on your to do list if you haven't already been exposed to the amazingness. Southern cooking is their specialty. Menu has lots of different options including fried okra, blackened catfish, Kentucky hot brown, and more southern classics. I usually get the buffalo chicken strip salad. It's the best around. The chicken is evenly coated with sauce, and comes hot on a bed of lettuce and cheese. The chicken heats the cheese to soft perfection. The ranch and blue cheese are homemade and delicious. Don't worry if someone in your party isn't interested in a salad, they have specialties like items like the Hot Brown, and chicken livers. They're also known for their vegetable options that include fried green tomatoes and rotating seasonal options. This is one of three Ramsey's locations. This one is in the Hamburg area, in the same strip mall as Orange Leaf. But you probably won't make it over to Orange Leaf, because if you're in the mood for dessert, you'll probably be enticed by a slice of Missy's pie... especially if you see other people indulging in a slice of goodness. One day I'm going to just go here and get a slice of pie, because I've never "saved room for dessert". So we decided to go there. WOW! At 3:00 p.m., they were slammed! But we were seated and waited on right away! We got the hamburger ($8.95) with cheddar cheese on the side, red onion, mushrooms, and bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on a onion bun. Got an extra order of fries (crinkle cut). Can't complain for $11.00 (not including the tip), that wasn't bad and the hamburger was awesome!! Cooked exactly how we wanted it. Medium well, fries were excellent, hot and lightly coated. Stopped by Ramsey's for breakfast because it is close to the house. Their breakfast menu is small. You can get an omelet, steak and eggs, pork chop and eggs or their classic breakfast. I chose to get the classic breakfast. It came with 5 eggs, toast, 3 pancakes, bacon, sausage and hash browns and cost $9.99. That is a ton of food for the cost. As expected The food was cooked just right and tasted good. The only thing I didn't like about my breakfast was that they didn't offer biscuits or gravy. We settled in for an early meal and were very impressed with the service and food here at this Ramsey's location. My mother ordered soup beans (pintos), mac and cheese, fresh tomato slices, and fried corn. I ordered 2 pork chops in Ramsey's signature "red" (read mild BBQ) sauce, fried green tomatoes and fried corn on the cob w/parmesan cheese. Mother loved her food, however her Mac and Cheese was rather bland and flavorless. As for me, I loved the pork chops and the "red" sauce. The fried green tomatoes were also very good but that damn fried corn on the cob really hit home. I am a connoisseur of grilled corn and this gave that a run for it's money. The corn was shucked, plucked, deep fried in soy oil, dipped in butter and then rolled in parmesan cheese. It was absolutely delightful and only needed a little salt to send it over the top. Serious cornage here friend...serious. We topped our meals off with a couple of slice of pie, May Day pie (read Derby pie) and Key Lime. The May Day pie topped off with ice cream and the Key Lime w/whipped cream. Both were awesome! The service here was also above par and our waitress continually talked to us, refilled our drinks and was amazing. Let me also add that this restaurant uses locally grown, KY produce which I admire. Altogether, the bill was around $36.00 for two of us. The bland Mac & Cheese and our overdone cornbread sticks, keeps me from giving this one 5 stars friends but maybe, on next visit, I'll update it. read more

And waited some more. When we asked Jill, she explained that they were short-handed and had a lot of pick-up orders. Okay. No apology. No one offered us ANYTHING to eat -- not a piece of bread, nothing! Then the manager came to another table to explain that there was a wait. No apologies. My husband asked if we would get free pie. The manager dismissed him and walked away. After an hour, we got up to leave. As we walked to the door, the food came out. There was never an apology. What kind of management is this? Just don't like the hot liquid they have on the table in my food. Please cook it regular and offer the Jalapeño hot liquid you offer in a bottle on the side. Remember kids eat these sides as well. So far, Ramsey's is definitely in my top places to eat here in Lexington! We were pleasantly and happily surprised by how delicious the food was today! We had the Kentucky hot brown and Reuben with fries, Mac and cheese (for the kiddo) and the fried Parmesan corn on the cob. For dessert we had peanut pie and mayday pie with ice cream. Absolutely delicious! You can tell everything is made fresh there. The service was fantastic! They also make their own ranch and it's heavenly! I have eaten here several times before and have got things like the BLT salad which enormous and full of bacon, the breakfast plate with the 5 eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, toast, etc.. And now this time I got the Hot Brown.. First time I have ever eaten this and It was absolutely spot on.. Tons of cheese, gravy, ham, turkey, toast and bacon to top it off.. This is the second location i have eaten at and I like it much better than the Tates creek area, although it could have been fixed now as i had a very bad food experience there.. The value here is great for the food also so expect a wait at peak hours, but it is well worth it.. Enjoy you food as there is alot of it to eat! read more

Pretty sure my grandma left her recipe box to the chefs at Ramsey's when she passed. If you remember the Food Network show "Down Home with the Neelys", Ramseys will be right up your alley. Wait staff was fantastic as well as was the bartender. Nice.strong.margarita. The staff was very deserving of the tip percentage I normally leave.
