We have lived here 2 years and just tried this place. Our loss. The menu is diverse, but more importantly - excellent. Yes it's burgers and wings and assorted bar foods - but cooked fresh to order and as requested. (Fries extra crispy, no pickle on the burger, etc). We stopped in here for some wings, and I thought everything was wing-fantastic. The service was excellent, and Miranda was on top of our order all the way. She suggested that I try their Mango-habanero wings, and I was in wing heaven with each spicy bite. We also had some fried macaroni and cheese appetizers, delicious little morsels that put the yum in yummy. The restaurant's atmosphere was also very cool, and people (staff) seemed very friendly. It's location is a bit dodgy with an abandoned motel across the street and some nefarious characters hanging out in its parking lot: think of Mickey Rourke in Barfly, and you get the picture. However, even with such minor visual negatives, this place is awesome! Seriously, some of the best wings that I've had in a long time. First time dining at Ramshackle Cafe -- what a fun place!! Great service... busy the whole time we were there. Didn't get the waitress name (she didn't offer & as I said in an earlier review/post, I quit asking). Would've given 5* BUT she forgot the beer and/or took quite a while and the sandwich was soooo salty. We asked the waitress what was good and she said the wings and French Dip so we ordered both and shared. The wings are FANTASTIC. We requested them xtra crispy and sauce on the side (we find they stay crispier this way) and they were perfect!! We ordered the "nuclear" sauce which is their "hot" and it also was GREAT! Also got fries... they're battered. If you like battered fries then you'll like these -- I do not!! I hate battered fries, I think they're a cop out!! I ordered the French Dip and it was tasty but very salty. If you had salt issues, I'm not sure you could've eaten it. They piled on the meat - wow!! The menu is huge and we can't wait to go back and try something else. I like they have outdoor dining so I can bring my dogs - yay!! A fun restaurant with great service and food!! read more

I have placed an order here before and have been very pleased with my order. The freshness, taste & temperature of the food. This time I did not enjoy any of the above. The wings came out 5 minutes after I ordered. Anyone would need thrilled that their food has arrived that quickly however from recent orders I know it takes at least 10-15 minutes when I place an order. This time the wings were okay as far as temperature (heat lamp hot) but the flavor was awful. The J lemon pepper was dry and not juicy as I've come to expect from past orders. The Buffalo sauce they should have been tossed in was decked over them so each wings was not totally covered. As I reached the last few pieces, I became more discouraged and did not finish them. Paid my tab and left. This was my Father's Day treat to myself. I should've went some place else. read more

The food is simple-burgers and sandwiches. Everything was very good. The service was excellent. The waitress suggested everything was good except the oysters. I am giving this place a 3 star because I went there last Friday the 8th and the service and food was delicious. Our waitress was nonstop she was very busy and very friendly towards us and laughed with us, she deserved her trip.. we then went back Saturday night the 9th with some friends and our waitress was terrible unfriendly no personality didn't deserve a tip but still got one over the recommended 20%. We ordered a beer with a lime, 5 mins later she came back and said they were out of that beer, we were looking at the beers on the menu and she said very rudely those aren't the beers we have so she named what she had and we ordered another. Another 5 mins or so she brings the beer and no lime, we asked for the lime she said she would be right back another 10 mins she was back and asked us if we were ready to order and one of us said jokingly no I think we need a few more moments. She didn't smile to acknowledge him or anything. Yes we know it was a smart a$$ remark but it was also a stupid question. We asked if the beers were buy 1 get one as the menu says and we received and short and quick no as she was walking away. The menus were terrible they were ripped hard to read and apparently not up to date. So beware going there and trying to order things. Vastly overpriced. Food was stingy in quantity and the "famous" wings were walmart-grocery-quality. Service was excruciatingly slow and often servers are standing around jawing on the patio. Had a really nice time here with my sweetheart for lunch. The menu is an old style new paper from back in the days with some cool stories to read. We ordered the Club Sandwich and a side of Jalapeno Poppers and they were both delicious. Everything was freshly made. So glad we had decided to share. The Club Sandwich alone was a lot. Lots of meat, bacon and cheese. Talk about being happy and full. We sat inside even though it was nice day out. On travel for work staying right behind the restaurant so found my way down. Took a seat at the bar, the service was good, food came out really fast. Would be 5 stars if the fried pickles we better but I just don't like the batter, tasted like fried mushrooms batter instead of pickles. Overall I enjoyed it and was worth the stop. read more

I don't think a picture can really do this sandwich justice. It's called Highway 27 but really it's the BEST PHILLY CHEESESTEAK YOU WILL EVER HAVE! And yes I know that "real" Phillys are made with cheez wiz and I've had them in Philly from multiple places but seriously this is better! The meat is not fatty at all, the bread tastes freshly baked, the sautéed mushrooms and onions on it are amazing and I swapped out the peppers for jalapeños. It also has mayo and fresh lettuce and tomato. 10/10 for real. I've been to this restaurant before and had their other food which was great but this sandwich has ruined it all for me. The restaurant is nothing fancy. In fact, it is very rustic and small. There is a screened in patio that provides additional tables during pleasant weather. If you are looking for a quiet, family cafe, you need to look elsewhere. Based on the patrons present, I'm not sure if this is a bar that also has a restaurant or a restaurant that also has a bar. The menu is heavy on the bar food side. Our server was not terribly attentive, but service was passable. My wife any I were out with friends and we were looking for some appetizers. We ordered the combo, sampler appetizer that consisted of potato skins, beef nachos and buffalo chicken wings. The skins were very good. The nachos were just ok. The beef had a spice that was a bit overwhelming. The wings were lousy. They were over cooked (dry). There was not much meat on the bones and the sauce was just ok. We do not live in the area, but if we did, I would look for a better place for bar food. read more

I spent my afternoon one beautiful Sunday lunching with a few of my siblings and their sig others. We all gathered to have a power lunch and to strategize. There are not many restaurants other than fast food in Leesburg, so Ramshackle Cafe is one of very few choices. The Cafe is also a good place if you need to accommodate a small (or large) group. My little brother came in from Atlanta, while my nephew from California also flew in. Another nephew from Orlando joined us with his wife, so we had a large group. I ordered my old standby, the Cobb Salad. If you put a Cobb Salad on the menu, every woman in America will order it, every time! ;) The salad arrived on an oversized plate, yielding a big portion. The romaine lettuce was crisp and plentiful, and tasted splendid. The accoutrements that usually come atop a Cobb were delicious, too. Their version of the Cobb salad had the customary chopped chicken, placed in thin lines across the lettuce leaves, and additionally, had lines of hard-boiled egg, chopped tomatoes, sliced avocado and blue cheese crumbles placed strategically next to each other. Their version of the Lemon/Dijon/EVOO/Red Wine Vinegar Dressing was on point, too. BUT! THE BACON! OOH! THE BACON!!! I am a big bacon fan, in fact, I will put bacon on anything, even a peanut butter sandwich (really!!!)!!! BUT THIS bacon was definitely the "bacon bits" type, the "fake" kind! The horror! This ruined the quality of the Cobb for me. I poked around on my salad after eating everything except the fake bacon. But believe me, the real bacon was sorely missed! A real shame! Service was excellent and the atmosphere was kinda fun. The decor of the hundreds of various states' old, used license plates all over the ceiling was definitely atmospheric. Plus, everyone else enjoyed their lunch and we all did have a great time. But if you ever do find yourself in Leesburg, Florida, and you eat at The Ramshackle Cafe, don't get the Cobb Salad. Unless you like fake bacon. 31/100 read more

We go to the Ramshackle Cafe when in Leesburg because my Mom and Uncle like it. The food is 'meh', they allow smoking on the deck, and they're really close to the road (14th St, Leesburg), so it's really noisy eating outside. You can always eat inside, but during COVID time, outside is better. Our server today was running her butt off, and doing a decent job. She could have used some backup. read more

Rummshuckles (our nickname for it) is no different than the "sea of sameness" - except Rummshuckles is Dingy, Smoky and NOISY complete with "biker chic" servers...known for their personal service and warmth :o( Smoking is permitted on the "deck" OUTSIDE...Just what I want with my meal...cigarette smoke, exhaust fumes and NOISE from traffic - whilst being verbally abused by a waitress - Yummy. read more

Sadly I didn't get a chance to take a picture of my food here, namely because I was starving after 8 hours of driving.
