Supposedly it was supposed to be stuffed French toast, but I've had plenty of stuffed French toast in my life in this well you'll see in the picture adding a picture she could see what it was and it was supposed to be stuffed French toast and then My son ordered the pancakes and the pancakes were huge. I mean it covered the whole entire plate. I would give this place another try but it's probably just a three out of five right now for me. Legit divey diner with ~~flies~~ Including legit ~~fries~~ Make that even better tots. And not far enough away from Idaho so you can still get a decent fry sauce as a table standard. My Breakfast Burger "Melt" special ($11.50) was a very sparse on melty cheese-- only one American slice-- but otherwise stacked with a decent burger patty, sausage patty, and fried egg. Some breakfast gravy would've rescued the dryness, but fry sauce helped in the pinch. Veggie Omelette ($12.75) wasn't quite a hit with its undercooked onions and peppers, and undisclosed black olives. Nor quite was the Mushroom Swiss ($12.50) served a touch scant on filling on a pub roll with not enough melted cheese. Maybe a hidden blessing for my wife given the fake white American cheese "Swiss". But real sautéed mushrooms covered some of the sin. Monte Cristo ($13.75) isn't the classic battered-and-dipped treatment and instead French Toast egg wash style, but at least a generously-filled two stacked club sando style. Hog Rock is okay-priced considering the economic times, but OG small-town diner food on epic OG boring stoneware platters made for a nostalgia trip that was also a fair road-tripping byway. 3.5 stars. read more

Inside out: there is plenty of parking. The place looks as good as the food, which sometimes I won't judge because some of the best food comes from sketchy looking places. Food: I don't write bad reviews often. At all. This was nearly inedible. I've never had a breakfast this bad and I was baffled to watch others eat here. I am so angry I paid for this food. I can't tell if it's from the food or anger my stomach is upset. The hash browns were barely cooked. Like... wet and cool in the middle. How do you mess up an egg and cheese omelette? I had no idea until today. I learned, kinda cooked eggs with wet white parts and normally I wouldn't complain about cheese... but mother of god it was not even cooked and it was probably more cheese than egg ratio. It was disgusting. I didn't bother with the biscuit, it might have redeemed something but it looked pale, dry, and undercooked so I took a pass. My husband ordered the Hog Rock Country scramble. Just... I'll put a picture. He said his was 'edible' but now I'm listening to his stomach revolt. Service: our waitress was nice, literally the only reason I didn't just get up and leave. The other folks, I'm for a relaxed work environment, but other than our waitress they were not even clean. Don't forget they charge a 3% on top of everything for using your card they don't tell you about! So I paid almost 40$ for two people to eat the worst meal of my life. I should have taken more pictures but imagine the most soulless wet pale mush and you've got it. Stopped in for a late lunch on our way through town. There is outdoor seating, but without shade it was too warm for us with our little dog today, so we got our order to-go. Wonderful, thick strawberry shake made to order. Crispy fries and onion rings. My husband and I split the Monte Cristo (which was more like a club sandwich made with French toast). I missed the raspberry jam, but not much given the sweetness of the French toast. It was tasty and more than enough for the two of us. My daughter had the bacon cheese burger and really enjoyed it. I really wanted to like this place, but there were a few cons. The waitress was the best part of the visit. She was super friendly and welcoming. The diner was actually quite filthy. The black and white tile floor was in dire need of a good mopping. The cushions ion the corner booth were extremely worn and very lumpy to sit on. We ordered a club house sando and a Monte Cristo. The people that came in after us got their food ahead of us, which is fine, but my Monte Cristo was cold, which leads me to believe that it sat for a bit before being brought out. Also, there was no raspberry jam, which makes a Monte Cristo! The bread was not fully cooked on the inside and it was very gooey. The sodas were good and there was a free refill. Overall, I wouldn't leave I-84 to go find this place again. It was about 2 miles off the beaten path, but not exactly what I was expecting. The place is small and the ambiance was on par with a local diner. Service was good but the food was average. The tots were sparse but well done. read more

Amazing from the start. As soon as we walked in you could see the place was packed for a Sunday breakfast. We were kindly greeted and we sat down at our table. The waitress was extremely nice and welcoming. This was the start to a wonderful breakfast. Pump the brakes!!! Our food arrived at our table. We both had hash browns with our meal. With our first bite we instantly knew our hash browns had freezer burn. They were dry as a bone. Probably the worst hash browns I've ever had. I had the rib eye and eggs. My steak was terrible, tough and flavorless. The waitress was extremely nice and took the hash browns off of our order. She confirmed with us that they do use frozen hash browns. It really makes you appreciate fresh hash browns at other restaurants. Well, our Sunday breakfast ended quickly. I'm sorry, but I cannot recommend this establishment. It really needs an overhaul. We walked in and it def gave mom and pop restaurant vibes the waitress spoke to us quickly. She gave us time to look at the menu and took our order fairly fast. I ordered 1 hot cake, 1 egg, 2 pieces of bacon and added a side of hash browns. Everything I got was good the pancake seemed kinda chewy which was weird but it was a giant pancake. My friend ordered 1 hot cake, eggs, bacon he thought the pancake had to much vanilla and it tasted like batter. His side of toast literally look 20 mins more than the rest of the food. We went in with a group coming home from Idaho and instead of getting frantic about a group they welcomed us in and gave us fabulous service . Food was piping hot and good. Lots of homade chicken fried steak in the group. Biscuits were homade and coffee was always on the refill. There seemed to be one waitress for the whole room, but she was super friendly and pretty quick - impressive. My husband got the chicken fried steak, egg over east, hash browns and sourdough toast. I had the 1 pancake, scrambled egg, bacon and an added side of bacon. First, portions are HUGE! Like feed 2-3 people comfortably huge! The one pancake was probably 3/4 of an inch thick and the size of a dinner plate! The side order of hash browns was about what I'd cook for a small family. My husband said he meal was de ent and I thought mine was pretty good. If you're looking for fancy/elevated breakfast, this isn't the right choice. But, if you want a decent typical diner breakfast with massive portions at a good price, you found your spot. read more

Don't let the dodgy exterior, the not-so-clean interior and the scattered service scare you away. This is one of the best burgers I've had in a long time and at more than half the price of other "upscale' burger places I've frequented. The burger was served on a nicely toast sandwich roll instead of the traditional bun. The bacon was thick-cut and to die for crisp. Tomatoes, lettuce, onions and pickles were all crunchy and fresh. I had ordered a chocolate milkshake to wash it all down but was informed they were out of ice cream (on one of the coldest days of the year so far - kinda funny). I suspect if you're a regular the service would be a lot quicker. read more

Are you people kidding me?!?! Unless this place has had a drastic makeover sometime in the last 3 or 4 years (the last & only time I went there) - this place is just barely a step-up from a "dive." At that time, the kitchen was only open during a short period of the day - apparently they didn't have enough business to keep a cook on staff for more than 4 or 6 hours a day. The big draw here seems to be the video slot-machines, where you can watch poor locals throw away what little money they do have. I found it to be a depressing environment. Average greasy spoon breakfast diner. Lacks charm inside and out and a bit sticky and dirty. The choices on the menu really only cater to the farmers and truckers type. I have a sensitive type diet and found nothing much to choose from. No gluten free, no fruit, no grilled veggies... So I settled for oatmeal. I also ordered a side of bacon which was the only thing we all liked. So I give the bacon a 5 star. The menu is very basic and no foodie items give that 2 Service was great give that a 4 Price gets a 4 , it was 27.00 for four meals, two hot drinks.
