Michelada Colombiana (front), Margarita Flaca (back)
    Vijay N.

I'm back in Westborough for the week visiting my family for Thanksgiving, and my mom mentioned that a new Mexican restaurant had opened downtown where Sapporo used to be. After considering a few options for dinner, we decided to stop in and give this place a shot. We arrived around 6 PM and the restaurant was fairly busy for a Monday night. The ambiance is reminiscent of a classic East Coast Mexican restaurant -- colorful and vibrant. There's plenty of seating, with room for several groups of 4-6 people. We were promptly seated, brought complimentary chips and salsa, and had our orders taken. For drinks, we ordered two Michelada Colombianas with Modelos for myself and my girlfriend, a Margarita Flaca for my brother, and a Diet Coke for my mom. For our meals, I got the Tres Amigas Enchiladas, my brother ordered the Borrego Don Martute (lamb), my mom chose a Small Combo with two tacos, and my girlfriend got a Mole Burrito -- which the restaurant kindly made vegetarian for her! Food arrived promptly and everything tasted solid. I really enjoyed the enchiladas (the green one with carnitas was the best!). My mom thoroughly enjoyed her tacos, and my brother's lamb shank came with a consomé that was extremely savory. My only comment -- and my girlfriend agrees -- is that the molé leaned a bit on the sweeter side, but that's mostly a matter of preference. In terms of service, everyone we interacted with was friendly and attentive. All in all, Rancho Allegre is a welcome addition to the Westborough food scene. This town has had a few more "uppity" Mexican restaurants pop up in recent years (looking at you, Mexicali and Torito), so seeing a spot bring back the classics and do them well feels refreshing. Wishing this place the best of luck -- and I can't wait to stop by again the next time I'm back in town. Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Overall Score: 4.7/5

    Heaven

Food, Service, and Ambiance are amazing. The food is very good, something different, needed in Westborough. The inside is bright and lively with warm colors on a cold day. The service is fast and attentive. The only thing better was the drinks. Very well done. If you go once, you will go again.

Chicken tacos were outstanding, big thank you to our server for recommending the Enchiladas Tres Amigas, a chance to get 3 different meats, 3 different sauces, including a phenomenal mole.

Our drinks weren't refilled at all during our visit. And we had to try to flag a few people down for our check. For food, chips and salsa were store bought. Salsa tasted like the jarred salsas you get at the grocery store. I ordered the black bean soup that tasted ok but was lukewarm. I tried to flag someone down to heat it up but gave up because I was hungry. We also ordered the beef fajitas. Beef wasn't tender and had some sinew bites. It was also in some marinade instead of a dry rub seasoning which I prefer. Floors felt greasy and the part of the restaurant we sat in wasn't very air conditioned (it was a 90 degree day). For some reason, the Stars didn't align with us for this place. Wouldn't return.

Mexican music plays in the background but not loud. The restaurant is clean and has a fun Mexican theme. The bathroom is very small but clean, also decorated in a Mexican theme. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who sat us right away. The waiter came over almost immediately and got us our drinks. My daughter got the homemade sangria and said it was very good. Naco chips came out right away with some spicy salsa. I ordered the seafood burrito and my daughter orders the burrito mole. My seafood burrito was absolutely stuffed with seafood and it was delicious. I would definitely get it again. I asked for the tomatillo sauce on the side in case it was going to be spicy, but it had the right amount of heat and was very flavorful. Mixing the rice with the black beans and the tomatillo sauce made a really tasty bite. My daughter enjoyed her mole burrito and cleaned her plate. We didn't get dessert. We were too stuffed! The price for each meal was $17.99, which I found to be an extremely good value for such a quality meal. I took their takeout menu. We're definitely coming back and will order takeout.

It was a weekday afternoon, so it was just my and my friend, with one other party there. Since the weather was nice, we decided to sit at their outdoor tables - both indoor and outdoor spaces are big with lots of tables. Some of the tables are in the sun and others in the shade so there are options. They had some lunch specials and a taco Tuesday special so we shared a chimichanga, and two tacos. We had their al pastor and carne asada tacos. To change it up, we went with the chicken chimichanga. While we waited, our waitress brought out some complimentary chips and salsa to munch on. The tacos were tasty, although the meat was a little dry. The tacos were on the smaller end, but also only $2 each. The chimichanga I was not a fan of. The plate looked big, but in reality it wasn't too much food. It did come with beans and rice which I was not expecting, but also, the chimichanga was only filled with shredded chicken, so this must have been the rest of the filling. The chicken, rice, and beans were very bland, and there was too much tortilla (as a result of only being slightly stuffed). Also, it was not deep fried like it should be. Our waitress was nice, and took good care of us.

I think they were ultimates seemed like everyone was enjoying their time - the food all looked good I was hoping that I'd find a new salty Chips and salsa, but that wasn't the case.- hot sauce didn't compliment Kind of mellow taste With a tip I was just under $70.00 $32.00 for 2 Margaritas

Over the years, the quality went downhill, and ownership announced in late June '23 that they would be closing temporarily and reopen with a "new and improved" Hola. I was excited to check it out tonight Unfortunately, it was hard to find anything improved about the new Hola. The chips and salsa remain very good, and we had plenty of time to enjoy them as our food took a *long* time to come out, despite being just a few customers on a Monday night. Two of the three of us ordered Baja Fish tacos ($17) but they messed up the order and brought Shrimp Gober tacos instead, so we had to wait even longer for them to make the actual food we ordered. Some of the fish tacos were served with very unappealing, old browned avocado, while others had pathetic tiny slivers of fresher avocado. The De Asado tacos ($16) were sparsely filled with super dry meat, accompanied by dry, crispy rice. Not sure if these were just sitting drying out in the kitchen while they remade the fish tacos, or if this is typical. The "avocado sauce" listed on the menu was non-existent, and the main flavor came from using the leftover salsa from our chips to moisten the tacos. Nobody ever came to our table to refill waters or ask if we were enjoying our meal - I really miss the old staff, who were warm and inviting, and seemed genuinely eager to please. If this is the new "improved" Hola, I will mourn the demise of the old Southborough gem that Hola was, and cautiously seek out other Mexican restaurants in the area.
