I really like this park. I've been bringing my dog here for about a year. We don't explore the dog park section of it, but we do walk around the various paths and baseball diamonds, sample the various benches (you've probably seen us at some point), and occasionally take a stroll through the west side trails. It's funny; I had no idea Lake Hodges was right on the other side of the park! It's a nice park; seems to be maintained and there's plenty of parking. One thing that bugs me are the people who walk their dogs off leash. While this is illegal and it's not necessarily the act that drives me crazy, it's the dogs that run up to other dogs who ARE on leash. This is dangerous; if your dog runs up to a pooch on leash who's not dog-friendly then you could have a problem. Think about it. Overall I enjoy coming here. Nice place. read more

We lived in Rancho Bernardo for 16 years and were there for the grand opening of the RB Community Park. We visited it with our son and his family and was shocked to see how much the park has fell into disrepair. Dead landscape, chalk and build up of dirt on tables, weeds, areas needing paint, huge cracks in walkways were prevalent throughout the park. Such a shame to see how leaders have neglected this great asset in an affluent area such as Rancho Bernardo which I am sure contributes greatly to the tax base which is used to fund parks. read more

Good place to walk laps and lots of room and trails to visit. Only downside is the off lease park for dogs has owners who don't even use leashes when walking to and from the park. Nothing much worse than a dumb animal owner making a public park more dangerous than needed, and this place has more than a few. Overall, I'd say this place is a good park to spend some time. read more

I've been here numerous times for soccer events. Yes, they have a playground, which kids can enjoy between games. But that's about the only positive attribute about this place. While they do have bathrooms, they are few and far between. The have a couple of parking lots, but the capacity holds maybe 25% of the patrons there. The grass is green, but there are also a few low areas, where the water doesn't drain so it's a just a mud bog. Overall, if there was an adequate alternative location that held numerous soccer fields, I'd much prefer to go somewhere else. read more

I cannot believe I lived in RB for so long before my comeback last year and don't even recall visiting this park. I guess because I thought this was for kids sports or neighbors of the immediate vicinity, so not really something that would be of my liking. So, the other day after a visit to the dentist I started driving around and decided to take a look. I was surprised to see that it is way bigger than I thought and there is a senior's center, tennis courts, something that looks like bowling but that needs lots of maintenance to be done, picnic tables and recreational areas too. Most interesting for me was the entry point to some trails around Lake Hodges. You will see lots of people bringing their dogs for a walk there and parents taking their small ones to the playgrounds. This is actually an ideal park and I plant to visit more often now that I can see all the many things it offers to the public! read more

This place is awesome for kids and families alike! There are basketball courts - two full courts. There are tennis courts, baseball fields, a large family area with grills and tables under shade. There is a horse shoe pit and a sand pit. There are also soccer fields. There's a play area for the kids - both younger and older. Slides, swings, bars, climbing stools - they have it all. We go during the day and at night - both great times. Safe as well. read more

This park. I can't say enough good things about RB Community Park. There is a parking lot at the community center and a short walk to the outdoor park. Large updated playground areas for children and also a toddler or small child playground. The paved walking path circumvents the green area where children's ball clubs play into the evening. Nice families congregate and visit this beautiful park and green space. I love coming here when I visit with daughter and her family. read more

Parents night out review at the recreation center here. We went on a double date, between us, we left 4 kids, ages 4, 5,7,9. They had a terrible experience. Three strange men are the babysitters. No idea what their child experiences are. We've tried a few places in the area for parents night out, we've liked them all, never had any issues. These men were aggressive and no ability to communicate with the children. Our two older boys, said the men were angry. We heard some strange things from our children. Knowing our children's personalities, and even the younger sons hated it. The place alone was strange, an empty room with a few tables, nothing to do activity wise. The babysitting starts at 5.. but pizza wasn't coming until 6:30, seems pretty late for young kids. I feel real shitty trusting my kids to this place. They are not the right people for kids!! read more

Unkempt, filthy, no grass, water leaks that never get fixed --- a real embarrassment for Rancho Bernardo!

This is a good place to catch Rancho Bernardo High's Broncos practicing football, soccer or hitting homeruns in one of the many baseball diamonds and fields (http://www.rbhs.org/index.jsp - check schedule under Athletics, or go to http://www.rbpopwarner.org/game-schedules/). For the little kids, the sand box (at north end) is like stepping into heaven. There is also a dog park at the south end (see yelp fan club http://www.yelp.com/biz/rancho-bernardo-dog-park-san-diego). I like running and there is a good path around the park, but my morning runs here had been full of EARACHES. The damn place is just under the fifteen concrete lanes of I-15 which are ultra-noisy in the morning. Otherwise, this place is good to bring kids during Saturday or Sunday afternoons; fortunately, the kids play area is somewhat distant from the highway. This park is really swell. First of all, it is ginormous. There are at least five baseball fields and a soccer field. There are a couple parking lots, one on each side of the park. There is a nice breeze that comes through the park and plenty of trees to sit under. It seems like a perfect place to fly a kite. There are also tons of lights, so you can keep playing after the sun goes down :) It's almost perfect. I know dog owners love dog parks, but they shouldn't be next to regular parks. A lot of people walk their dog through the park and it's a great way to give people flees. Especially kids who rolls through the grass. Also, the park is right next to the freeway which is convened for access but there is a lot of noise pollution. The parks and rec department could fix this by placing a hedge between the park and they freeway. I've seen it done in other parks and it not only hides the freeway but cuts out most of the noise. read more

It's been awhile since I spent any amount of time at this park. Between the softball league that I belonged to and Pop Warner football games I was here quite a bit. The park itself is very spacious, offers different softball and baseball fields for all different levels. There is plenty of room to walk around and enjoy the great outdoors that the N. County has to offer as well as walking trails to Lake Hodges. In general, the park itself seems very good for families and would be a nice place to spend an afternoon. read more

This is a very large park there's not much that you can't do here it has baseball field's basketball courts soccer Field and large open grass areas for you to just sit down and have a nice picnic. There is plenty of room to set up your large shade canopies and just have fun read more

We have a big family so we need a spacious park. The dog park is right next to the baseball field where their are restrooms and water fountains. There is plenty of parking and about three different ways to access the park. You can turn at where you would enter the Rancho Bernardo community park and drive to the end, park on the road, or in either parking lots by the dog park or by the baseball fields. This park is great for family fun and even for someone who likes to sit alone in silence. There are plenty of benches and recreational activities for the whole family. read more

I like this park because it gives kids a chance to be involved in sports and outdoor activities. It is sad that a bad memory taints this place, but we should also remember that there are a lot of happy times that happened here. Football practices that celebrate sportmanship and camaraderie, baseball games that teach kids how to share with and respect each other. Let's remember that too. read more

This is a definite reason why I want to leave the East Coast. In CT to find a nice community park like this, it would only be in the "Gold Coast" areas! However in San Diego County parks like this are found everywhere! Well manicured baseball and softball fields, trails, playgrounds, lawn bowling, etc. I found myself taking a long walk around while a friends kid had a softball game. Great place. Very Large Park. Very Kid Friendly. Dog run is fairly small but its cool it has three different areas for sizes of dogs. The scenery is nice too. read more

I just came here to play basketball in the evening. Plenty of parking. The outdoor basketball baskets are no good. I am guessing people have been dunking on them causing them to bend lower. The lighting is not that good either. I will be playing basketball elsewhere. read more

Great park with basketball, soccer and baseball areas, a community center with various activities including yoga. There is a dog park nearby too! Just be careful in this area as it is a little remote and a pretty big park. I wouldn't be here alone especially after dark. I come here a lot to shoot hoops with friends! read more
