Rancho Chico has a couple of locations locally. I always go to this one on US1 in Tequesta. They are open for lunch and dinner. It is a casual family friendly place suitable for a family meal or a night out with the boys or girls. They can accommodate larger parties. The food is always good. The service could be a little faster. Highly recommended. read more

The food is nothing more than a mediocre mexican place. The service is not very good but the atmosphere makes up for it. Unfortunately, there is not another good mexican place nearby. Go here if you have no other place to go. Otherwise, drive south to Lake Park or WPB for better mexican. read more

Paid another visit to this place out of desperation one Sunday. The place we we going to was closed. Decided to get nothing but beer and plain old tacos. A pretty average place, but offers good value. The margaritas are from the "slurpee" machine at the end of the bar...totally pre-mixed and guaranteed to give you a sugar headache. The food was good. the service was absolutely Unacceptable! We asked the server and the bartender for a birthday cake for a friend while ordering dinner. The server said he would check to see if they could accomodate our request. The bartender was so incredibly rude it was ridiculous! Solid 4 stars on the food, loved all but the queso fundido which was too thin and flavorless....the typical dishes we had were pretty close to authentic Mexican as you can find in Florida....the ceviche de camaron was pretty good, as were the shrimp quesadillas and tostadas....what really stood out was the Chile Verde....tender chunks of pork marinated and cooked in a green tomatillo sauce, delicious! This place used to be great but is now been ran into the ground. We were the only people in the restaurant and it took 15 minutes to make one margarita...cmon. When we asked the manager "what's going on?", all he had to say was a rude "it takes time!!"...? Needless to say the food was very subpar and our checks took 35 minutes to get once we had requested them. We had other plans for after we ate but everything was so painfully slow that everywhere was already closed by the time we were done with this painful experience. Had come here once before with loca friends and decided to come with my family as we are seasonal and always looking for a good Mexican place. Got here as the result of going to another place much closer to our condo. Suffice to say this place was great !! Restaurant was completely full yet we had drinks and chips promptly. Moved to the area recently, we r always trying new restaurants! We were pleasantly surprised! As soon as we say we rcvd chips and salsa and someone came to take our drink order. Guacamole prepared at table side was brought to us quickly and it was very tasty. Our dinner order arrived quickly and the skirt steak was the best I've had in a long time!!! It was delicious! My husband ordered a burrito and so did my son, both enjoyed their meal very much! I am looking forward to going there again to eat the skirt steak again! read more

Service was great. The food was good as well. We feel that the salsa makes or breaks a Mexican restaurant. My husband doesn't like onions (I prefer very few) and that was the majority of the salsa. It was very chunky. The juice had a great flavor, but we like to pour salsa over our food when it comes and it was too chunky for that. I felt it was clean and fast though. Our family wanted to spend Cinco de Mayo at this restaurant. It was a long wait, said an hour or so. We waited 3 hours, while we watched people who came long after us get sat. We also asked to be separated for quicker seating. We finally got sat, because we sat down at an empty table. We got harassed by other other patrons and the manager wouldn't apologize. 2/8/11 A group of us frequent the restaurant in Tequesta, at least, 12 times annually and aggregately spend well over $1,000.00. We experienced a rather unpleasant experience with the manager on 2/8/11. After ordering our meals, two members of the group noted there was very little sour cream with the fajita orders. When we requested more they quickly brought it out. The waiter service was good and so was the food. When we received our bill, there was an additional charge of $3.00. There was no prior notice given of the extra charge. When I questioned the manager, he said that's the way it was. We told him that we were year round residents and would not return if he was going to "nickel and dime" us. He had a attitude problem and said that not coming back was our choice. It was not the $3.00 because we would have added to the tip. As a result, the restaurant lost a number of customers. The manager won the battle, but loss the war. read more
