First and foremost the customer service is outstanding. Secondly the food was very excellent. And of course the place was clean and new. I can't wait till they get the outdoor patio areas open. For the people complaining about waiting or smashed chips. We waited for about 20 minutes at 5pm on Saturday. The place is new and is packed. Also yes some chips were broken up guess what it was an easy fix we kindly asked for new chips, they were on it right now, we never ran out of chips salsa and beans.. So in the end let's try and support this place. It's the best I have had in Albany!! Like hands down. Ps they also have home made tortillas!! That's a big win!! read more

So, this is a fairly new place in Albany and we decided to give it a go. First, the staff were pleasant and despite being fairly busy they remained attentive. The space is new and clean and open, it was a bit noisy but not uncomfortably so. There are a lot of options on the menu. I had a chile Colorado burrito, which is my litmus test for Mexican places. Theirs was pleasant but not as flavorful as I would like. A little bland actually. Wife got enchiladas and said they were delicious. Daughter got tacos and had no complaints. There was a peculiar burnt smell in the restaurant as we left which was not super pleasant but I didn't notice it until we walked out. Parking was tight but there is street parking and I saw people parking in a lot across the street. Prices are market competitive for what you get. It was good. I would go again if people wanted to meet up for a gathering. read more

We visited this restaurant after a Google Search. Service was good and food was typical. The restaurant itself opened about six months ago and is large. The bar and patio area is quite impressive. Bathrooms clean. We were given complimentary homemade tortillas on our way out the door, perfect for our leftovers later. The restaurant's ambience feels cold and uninviting. The lighting is overly bright, giving the food an unappealing look when served. The large, blank walls in the main dining area add to the stark atmosphere, and the booth seats were surprisingly hard and uncomfortable -- unexpected for a new establishment. When our meals arrived, my chimichanga was covered in a canned cheese sauce, and my husband's enchilada lacked flavor. Overall, the food was disappointing. When it came time to pay, the electronic check was brought to the table, and the waitress stood over us while we completed the transaction -- an uncomfortable experience. A simple "I'll check you out when you're ready" would have been much more courteous. This restaurant has quite a bit to improve on if it hopes to succeed. My advice: the two Mexican restaurants down the street are far superior in both food and atmosphere. read more

If you like mediocre food and so so, No hablo Ingles, service, then this is the place for you. Personally, I'm going to stick with El Palenque Mexican Restaurant just up the street. The owners should try and sell the building to Texas Roadhouse before it goes down any further. Like many have noted, the food tastes like it's straight from the Sysco can. I can't comment on the handmade corn tortillas, the ones my enchiladas were wrapped in what tasted like store bought. I have it two stars only because it's new, still clean, and working out the bugs. We have a lovely experience at this place tonight! The staff was super knowledgeable about dietary restrictions (I'm gluten free). Almost all sauces are gluten free!! We got two huge portions and will be having leftovers for days. The margarita flight was really good and refreshing. My husband wants to show you a picture of his "cheese pull". He said he liked the mole enchiladas but it's wasn't his favorite (he's a mole connoisseur). I loved the mojechita (not sure I'm spelling that right) and my husband ate all my leftovers! We sat in the lounge instead of the restaurant and it was more quiet (we heard a lot of happy birthdays in the main room) but also very relaxed. People who read my reviews know I always start out with this. This is my opinion at the time of dining in at dinner hours. Let's start with parking. Well it's in the back and go small if you're going to park close to the building cause it is very tight but there is parking a little bit away and well walking to and from helps with the hunger and the digestion on the walk back out the the car, not far at all. lol. First that place is probably one of the biggest places inside that I've seen in Albany and surrounding areas. Almost like a mall. It's very clean and well lit up and seating was fast and the booths were comfortable. It was around 6:30pm and the big open dinning area we sat in wasn't packed at all. But I'm thinking that this place can put a lot of people in different dining rooms and bar areas. I'm also thinking that being so open could get really loud if there's a birthday party or just a lot of people. It is nicely decorated inside and out. The food was absolutely delicious and maybe a 10 to 15 minute wait before the food was at our table from time of our order was taken. You couldn't for ask-more better service than that. They were kind and friendly servers. Always with a smile and came to the table a few times to check on us. The Plates are actually pretty big. Some of the biggest plates around with plenty of food on them. I'm a shrimp person and well I'd say very well cooked and flavored. I normally don't eat the beans at a restaurant cause I was raised making them different. But will say that their beans are good. Their rice was fluffy and tasted very good as well. Now the corn tortillas are to die for. Those are the most authentic corn tortillas in any restaurant I've been in and they're bigger than all restaurants around. Kudos to the person who makes them. Now I will say this. Now my wife's plate as she told me was definitely delicious and perfectly seasoned. Prices on a few of there dishes went up to a whopping 37+ a plate. Our plates went for around $18 to $22. I always say if the food is beyond good then ok but if that one time. Well I'll just leave that there. The menu is big with lots to choose from and the drink list has lots to choose from as well. Have to say that the margarita was perfectly made to taste. No skimp on the tequila and not overwhelming with the tequila. So with this being our first time dining as this restaurant. I'd say everything was good from time of entry to time of exit. I will say it's one of the more pricier restaurants I've been in but there is a variety to choose from. People in the area or even visiting need to try this place at least once. I will at this time will recommend this restaurant. You enjoy. We did. read more

I think these are the best tortillas I've ever had. I'm a connoisseur of tortillas and any Mexican restaurant serving store bought I won't return to. I had the pollo chipotle, very good. I also had a lime margarita on the rocks and a blended strawberry margarita with real strawberries, both very good. The restaurant itself was very nice, service was excellent. You can always rely on great food and great service. When I order a burrito with shredded beef or chicken, the meat portions are huge and well seasoned! My grandboys love the fresh hot chips with salsa and refried beans as soon as they sit down, and they always offer to refill. The place is consistently good and the dining room always busy when we arrive for dinner. Quickly seated by friendly staff. We love this place! read more
