Bulldog margaritas with 3 extra shots (added by us at the table for photo flare).

I'm so glad we rolled the dice and tried this place. It's a great vibe, music was on point, and food was hot and delicious. They have valet parking making it an easy access spot in a very busy area. We ordered the shareable 8-10 people Picada #3 (large picada). I had all the favorites from chicharron, chorizo, and ribs to tostones, Maduros, and arepas. DEFINITELY WORTH THE HYPE and a must try.

PATRONS BEWARE - Rancho Mateo, North Bergen, NJ I have been dining at this restaurant for a long time and never experienced something so humiliating until today. I placed a to-go order, and this is how the bartender labeled me on the receipt: "Lesbians fastidiosa" (translation: annoying lesbian). This is not only disrespectful to me but also to the entire LGBT+ community. The bartender never had the decency to apologize, and management ignored me even after I showed them the receipt. They walked back and forth for over half an hour before anyone even acknowledged me, and when they finally did, it was without sincerity. The way they treat people is disgusting and unacceptable. I am in shock and deeply disappointed. Let it be known: Rancho Mateo discriminates and humiliates its customers.

Racho Matteo To-Go area and bakery

I have never eaten in the restaurant (way too loud) But, this place is great for taking meals to go. Can't go wrong with the steak or chicken as your main, with rice and above average sweet plantains. The to go/pick-up area is in their bakery. So don't forget to grab something for dessert like flan or tre leches cake. We also used to get pondebonos and empanadas for weekend breakfast.

Very clean nice atmosphere. Food was very good. Ordered salmon with white wine and garlic sauce. Came with rice and beans. Excellent. Language is servers 2nd language but she was patient and we got through the order. She was very nice. Definitely be back when in the area. This is a really good place.

If you're in the mood for some delicious food, drinks, and atmosphere- look no further this is your place to be! One thing I will mention is that some of the waitresses do not speak English well so make sure you have some translator apps ready! The drink menu is also impressive. We ordered a margarita with a corona in it with a shot of tequila!!

Arroz y Maduros -- always on point

I have been to this restaurant more than a handful of times, and they are always on point with everything. Drinks are great -- I get the Jalapeño Margarita every time, and this dish is always my go-to. If I had to suggest anything it would be have the portions be consistent -- I always find myself wanting more rice, and for the portions they bring out like this fish with shrimp, the rice portion is small. Yet, if you order the yellow rice, they bring a whole plate full. Either way, if you're in the area, this place is definitely worth a try. Side note, they serve breakfast too!

I only tried the Dessert options from their Bakery, and they tasted really good. Restaurant was completely packed when I looked in. Looks like a fun spot. Hopefully, will visit soon

Such a fun vibe! Very lively Colombian restaurant. It's like you are stepping into a different world. I was very pleasantly surprised by the food as I picked this place last minute. The drinks and food are delicious. Good service, although it did take a while to get the check, but that could be a one-off experience.

This location packs a mean punch! It's a huge restaurant with a bakery on the side extension. You can order it all here, and the food looks amazing as well as the specialty drinks. The bar is nice size and is a nice addition to the restaurant. You can come for a drink or host a large sized event. This place will cater to your needs. They have a big screen TV and will host soccer matches from the Spanish leagues... mainly a Colombian. They also have a small stage where a live singer or band will play. They have a parking lot with valet service.

Michelada with Clamato juice

I was visiting family in NJ and they invited me out for some cocktails to Rancho Mateo. All I knew was the cuisine was Colombian. This was a pleasant surprise as we hand the keys to the valet and enter a lively large restaurant. The place is pretty packed with families and friends and the place is buzzing with excitement. Little did I know a championship futbol match between Liverpool and Real Madrid was about to begin. We were very fortunate to find seats at the bar for this electric event. We ordered micheladas which is a beer of your choice with lemon juice and salt rims. Refreshing and different. The service at the bar was excellent with a full crowd we never felt forgotten. We were checked on regularly. Fun crowd around us kept me fully engaged in the match. Fun time. Next was the food. The place had a large menu with many food options. I had to order a Colombian churrasco and I was not disappointed by this steak. It was accompanied with a trio of sauces - chimichurri, red picante, and chipotle sauce. All delicious but the chimichurri was the standout. I ordered two sides rice and frijoles were delicious. This was a pleasant surprise that will repeat again with my next NJ visit.

Lively spot. The service is great. The decor is themed of a country outdoor style. Love the style of the bar with the rounded seating area and topped like a resort bar or outdoor bar. This is really close to Braddock park so good eating spot after family time. The food is good 8/10 for steak salad, 9/10 lomo saltado, 7/10

Great spot. Friendly staff, Live music and lots of tvs. Food is a bit overpriced (but so is everywhere else) at least you'll be entertained here.

Pretty decent place. Definitely enjoyed the interior it has its own lot, so parking was easy. We ordered the Guacamole Con Tostones, Arepitas Con Hogao, Chicharron, & Arroz Con Pollo. All were very good. The Con Hogao was the weakest link. I kinda thought they'd be like 'Sweet Corn Tamales' from Cheesecake Factory, but No, not even close. They were flavorless & needed toppings. Overall, a good spot to stop if you're in the Edgewater area.

The music was way too loud and the mushroom sauce on the steak I ordered was too creamy.

Very good food. I had the bandeja paisa and a guanábana drink and empanada. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the food.

I finally had breakfast here as I've wanted to for quite awhile. Word of mouth is that the cuisine…read moreis "authentic Colombian" by many an acquaintance of mine. Now, while I am proud to proclaim my Colombian heritage, I must confess that I have no frame of reference for actual Colombian establishments given that the last time I was in the land of my ancestors, I was in diapers. However, I can say this: THE FOOD HERE IS INCREDIBLE! I ordered "huevos perico," which are basically scrambled eggs with diced tomatoes and either diced scallions or onions. To be honest I cannot recall which ingredients were used as I was in Heaven the minute the plate was set before me with an "arepa con queso." (If you don't know what that is, please Google it. I've never had to explain it to anyone before.) Anyway, that meal, along with the cafe con leche were beyond amazing! Moreover, you get a very homely feel with the atmosphere. Señora Olga, the patron and cook, was very cordial and professional but also made me feel as if I was back in my abuela's kitchen (God rest her soul) when she cooked and prepared the meal just a few feet away. She even grabbed the pan off the wall! One that I thought was just there for decoration. Such a small gesture but it took me aback, dropped jaw and all. In short, nothing is processed in this place. It is all quite authentic and made fresh and to order. I cannot wait to visit this place again.

It was ok. Previous Yelp reviews didn't do it justice. Place has potential though but the food was…read morevery average.
