I feel that I was ripped off......... a Arrived for a root canal and was shown a bill for cost to $600 which I assumed was the cost of my root canal. Was put is the chair, several x-rays were taken and gum was frozen. Suddenly just before Dr.Hung starts I was presented with a bill for almost $2000 to sign!!!! [Roughly $400 over the TOP price quoted on Co-pilot]. What do you do is that situation -either get up a leave or sign.? To top it all off, I don't know if I really need a root canal. No one wants to go to the dentist, much less an endodontist, but I had to see Dr. Halasa twice recently on an emergency basis, with the 2nd visit resulting in a root canal, for which he and his staff made me comfortable with nitrous oxide. Everyone there was very gentle and comforting. read more

I went to Dr, Halasa for the second time because of a possible problem with a tooth. He looked at it and said he needed to scan the tooth..Then they informed me that it would cost $290 plus the exam and other charges..I reminded them that this was the same tooth that Dr. Halasa performed a root canal on my first office visit...I asked if he could give me a break being it was the same tooth ..they wouldn't!!!!!,.. I could not believe that because in the past my endodontist would ALWAYS check a tooth that he previously did root canal on and never charged me anything..that was before moving to California . $474.30 later..I was told that the tooth looked fine... just an irritation. It was hard for me to believe that he would not even give me a credit for the work he initially did...and charged me full price.. If you need an endodontist ,,please find one that is compassionate and understanding .. and stay away from this one who only cares about money! read more

I had 2 difficult root canals and Dr. Hung knocked them both out in one appointment. I previously had 1 botched root canal at a different office and this was such a better experience. I know everyone's different but I haven't had any swelling and minimal discomfort. The lady at the front desk was polite/ nice and the assistant was really the cherry on top. Rip off! I made an appointment with a referral from my dentist for a consultation. I had my current records and X-ray from my dentist. When I arrived for my appointment the receptionist told me I would have to pay $250.00 for a CT scan. Even though I was a little taken aback I agreed. After the CT I was told I needed X-rays also even though I had current ones. I talked with the Doctor for 10 minutes($175 on the bill) she suggested treatment When I went to pay my bill was $510 to tell what my dentist had already told me. When I reminded them they had my current X-rays they offered me $45.00 back. Patients beware of consultation costs!! read more

I was referred to these folks by my dentist and received professional and very friendly service. Stephanie and Maureen at the front desk got me all set and ready to go. (Obviously:-) I am not a professional; but it did not take one to see on the X-rays the precision with which Dr. Jen filled in all four roots of the tooth on which he worked. They all looked perfectly smooth and really showed why they are called 'roots'; the fillings look life-like! Stephanie, office person who answers phones and makes appointments, is unprofessional and lacks customer service etiquette. After 10 years of ongoing appts with Dr. Halasa for throbbing pain and discomfort to the point where I cannot chew. I called to make an appointment explaining to her I am still in pain after many procedures and surgeries and over $10,000 later, I need to know what to do next because I cannot live with this pain any longer. Stephanie had the audacity to tell me that I am lying about the years and the amount of money I have spent. She was sarcastic, rude, and made me very uncomfortable. I told her to check her old system to find my name because I know the years I've been there and the amount of money that I have spent. To her surprise, she found me in the system and did not apologize for her rude unprofessional remarks, for this reason, I will not return to this office. I was referred to Rancho Mirage Endodontics by my DDS for a root canal. When I walked into the office I was greeted by a very friendly and social Stephanie. After chatting and laughing with her for a few minutes I felt like I had met a friend I hadn't seen in awhile. I was calm and at ease immediately. The office is really nice, modern and super clean. One of the nicest offices I have been to in all aspects (technology and décor). Dr. Halasa is the best of the best 10 out of 10! He explained step by step of what he was going to do. I had a root canal and he went through a crown. Prior to starting he gave me high dose of Ibuprofen to help alleviate any pain. I was informed to take a small normal dose at 9pm. I had dinner and waited to take the 9pm Ibuprofen. I didn't need it. I am writing this the day after and I still have no pain. I would highly recommend this office for the expertise and personable Dr. Halasa and staff. read more

Got my root cannel fixed and this is the place for a great job. I first got called in by Cat and she took me to the back to do my xrays. She was the best and very helpful through the process. She did the job amazing and Dr Halasa came in and made me feel comfortable with the process. Made a joke about not being able to eat for one hour and he laughed and made sure I wasn't hungry! Haha. Dr Hung, Wow...Dr. Rita Hung was fantastic! I (possibly) needed an emergency root canal, and after several X-rays, Dr. Hung confirmed my suspicions. This was my first meeting with Dr. Hung since she joined Rancho Mirage Endodontics team. She was caring, and very, very positive thorough the procedure start to finish. She also stayed late knowing the acute pain I was experiencing was a bit traumatic. Along with Dr. Hung's medical assistant Mary, it was really refreshing to have a doctor who is so dedicated, professional and personable. Additionally, Dr's calm demeanor and soothing words made me feel fully at ease. I have had multiple root canals performed by Dr. Halasa as well as a bone graft. He is a very good endodontist.

I normally don't take time to review, but my experience here was so great that I wanted to pass it along. On a Thursday I had some nagging pain in a tooth that I had a root canal on many moons ago. By Friday afternoon I thought I might actually die. Barely got in to see the dentist who informed me that I had abscesses at the roots of one of my molars. Gave me antibiotics and a referral to Dr. Halasan, stating I should start feeling better within 24-48 hours. No such luck. By Sunday morning I was ready to rip the sucker out with some needle nose pliers. I have given birth without anesthesia and that had nothing on this! ER gave me an antibiotic shot, pain meds and a stronger oral antibiotic. My husband called Dr. Halasan on Sunday night with concerns that antibiotics and pain meds were not working. Dr. Halasan was kind and helpful and gave instructions to call first thing in the morning for treatment with the hopes the antibiotic would kick in. It didn't. The staff got me in Monday morning. By this time I hadn't slept or ate much for 3 days and was a sweaty, nauseous, literal hot mess. The front office staff was also very kind, gave me yogurt to calm my stomach and were very encouraging. I have a SEVERE dental phobia and, once again, thought I might actually die. Dramatic much? Yes. But usually a simple filling triggers panic and this was on another level. Long story short- this was one of the best dental experiences I've had and likely helped me with decreasing overall anxiety related to getting dental work done (I'm a therapist so I have to throw that in there). Despite the excruciating pain I was already in Dr. Halasan expertly numbed me so that my experience, though somewhat invasive, was pain free. I have zero anxiety about returning next week to complete the retreatment. Highly recommend this doctor and his staff! I'd give them 10 stars if I could for helping me find relief quickly and with compassion. Thank you! read more

As a dentist practitioner for 40 years, I have referred many patients to endodontists. I have also had endo treatment personally in the past and my experience has always been one in which the results were successful but the experiences unremarkable. Therefore, I believe that my assessment can be very helpful to others. My examination and root canal treatment this time was very different. I was in pain which had increased over a 3 day period to a point where I knew that I was probably in trouble. I was fortunate enough to get an appointment with Dr. Rita Hung in the Palm Springs office the same day that I called. The office staff displayed a sense of "caring" first, followed by a high level of professionalism. The office followed Covid-19 protocol and I felt safe. Dr. Hung was not only extremely personable but was also clearly concerned for my well-being. Her examination was thorough and I admired her attention to detail. I needed treatment and although not planned for that day, she did not want me to have a problem over the weekend so initiated treatment to insure that I would not be seeking emergency care anytime soon. What a relief! She had a great combination of qualities- competent, comforting, confident, skillful and expeditious with treatment. I could not have had a better experience! This was a wonderful experience, from start to finish. I entered the office and found a warm, calming environment, The receptionist was friendly, and I had been offered the opportunity to fill out a health questionnaire online the evening before the appointment, which saved me a lot of time. We also A member of the office staff discussed my insurance information thoroughly, so I knew exactly what to expect financially. The dental assistant and I had a thorough discussion of any medical concerns I might have, reviewed the questionnaire information I provided the evening before, and ex-rays were taken. Dr. Halasa described the procedure (root canal) completely and I knew exactly what to expect. There was never a moment of even minor pain, and I estimate that the actual procedure lasted at most 15-20 minutes - much better than previous experiences I have had with root canals. I was prescribed an antibiotic by my primary dentist (not Dr. Halasa), and it had some pretty bad side effects. When I called Rancho Mirage Endodontics the next day to find out if another antibiotic could be prescribed, the receptionist immediately recalled me and had the knowledge at hand to let me know that I no longer need the antibiotic at all. There was no residual pain after the procedure, and the tooth was completely normal the next day. I have had extensive dental work in the past, including more than one root canal,, and this experience was exceptional in every way. Murphy's Law that I get a severe toothache on Friday afternoon after most offices are closed. I called Rancho Mirage Endodontics based on their Yelp reviews and couldn't be happier with the results! From the front office personnel who got me immediately on the schedule and verified my insurance to Dr. Halasa I couldn't be more impressed. I am no stranger to dental procedures, including root canals, unfortunately, but I can honestly say that this root canal was less painful than the most recent filling I had done at my local dentist.
