During my…read morevisit, we discussed sclerotherapy, and I was convinced to purchase a 3-treatment package after being assured it was safe, effective, and free of complications. The first session went smoothly and I had no issues. After the second treatment, however, I started to notice small red broken capillaries appearing. During my follow-up, I was told that everything looked "normal," and no concern or explanation was raised about these new veins. After the third session, which involved many injections, I was shocked to see a major outbreak of red broken capillaries across my legs. They looked significantly worse than before any treatment. I later learned on my own that this was matting -- something that was never mentioned or explained to me by Dr. Chung. When I brought it up at a follow-up visit, it was only then acknowledged. The before-and-after photos clearly showed how much worse my legs looked after sclerotherapy. Over the last three years, I've had multiple laser treatments and visits with vascular specialists trying to improve the matting, with little success. My legs still look damaged, and I no longer feel comfortable exposing them. I deeply regret proceeding with sclerotherapy that wasn't done under ultrasound guidance and with someone who didn't have extensive experience treating complications like matting. While I was given a partial refund, I continue to live with the long-term effects of this poor outcome. I hope others do their research carefully before committing to this type of treatment.

Then my cardiologist informed me that the last time I took tests was ten years ago, so I was due for them. Luckily, I don't have heart conditions that require immediate attention. But let's face it, I'm getting older, and knowing that I have a cardiologist and an internist on my health care team who are genuinely concerned with my health is reassuring. My cardiologist's office put in their test requisitions for me, and I contacted Queen's Heart to set up my appointments. Fortunately, I could schedule two out of the three tests for this month. The schedulers at Queen's Heart are friendly and very accommodating. Today, I met with a sonographer, Martin T, RDCS, who administered the ultrasonic electrocardiogram. I admit that I was nervous about taking this test because my blood pressure was elevated, but Martin put my nervousness at ease with his professionalism and excellent communication skills. He was reassuring that I didn't need to worry and follow his instructions so he could get the best images of my heart and surrounding areas for medical interpretation. Martin advised me to access the test results on my digital medical records, MyChart. From scheduling and reception to test administration and results interpretation at the Queen's Heart Institute, I received personable, professional, and highly skilled care. My cardiologist was also very quick in responding to his review of the test results. I heartily recommend the Queen's Heart Institute for cardiovascular medicine, surgical care, and diagnostic testing. This clinic is conveniently located on the third floor in the Pauahi Tower at Queen's Medical Center - Punchbowl.

One thing to keep in mind is it does get pretty cold in there so if you're sensitive to temps then bring a light sweater. They're located on the 3rd floor of the Pauahi Wing of the hospital and can either valet park at the main entrance to the hospital or you can self park in either the POB I, II, or III parking structure. If you're having a procedure the parking validation should be free.

I was very hesitant about the thought of getting laser tattoo removal on my eyelids because I've seen gross blister pictures on Google--but on other parts of the body. Rest assured, cosmetic tattoos rarely blister. My first experience with laser tattoo removal was at another business because I saw it on Groupon, although my eyeliner didn't apply to the special. I had only the ends removed so I received a discount anyway. The part-time employees there were super friendly & the pain was as described (like a flick of a rubber band), but I found the InkOff MD business card I got from Beauty Bliss by Mary (who gave my madre the best eyebrows!) which led me to cancel my follow-up appointment with the other business to see Dr. Chung. At Dr. Chung's medical practice, you can guarantee that you get your tattoo removed by a highly trained, licensed physician with the best in laser removal technology. Plus, you don't get a frozen glove of ice to "numb" the procedural area. I've a high pain tolerance, but I prefer the numbing injection that Dr. Chung provided. Due to the nature of my procedure being so close to my eyes, I appreciated the precautions Dr. Chung took to make safety a priority including giving me numbing eyedrops & putting contact-like shields in my eyes for extra protection. Overall, I felt more comfortable here than at the other place. Two sessions later, my eyeliner is gone (combination of cosmetic & tattoo ink)! There's still some pigment left, but I'm satisfied with the results. I paid per treatment so the cost of removal was affordable. Keep in mind that results vary per patient. Apparently, mine was a special case where it only took two sessions. It may be more cost beneficial to opt for the 4-session package which includes 6 months free if more sessions are needed in that time period. So who said tattoos are forever? Let Dr. Chung work his expertise to get rid of your inked mistakes!

It's far beyond the normal level of pain for even painful periods. I wasn't even asking for anything with any abuse potential, just a stronger version of something similar to what's sold over the counter. At first she said I could come in for an appt, I said I was in too much pain to get out of bed, have no car, and I'm broke from 5 years of having my rare cancer misdiagnosed. So I asked the MA to ask if I could do a virtual appt. She said yes BUT SHE WASN'T GOING TO PRESCRIBE ANYTHING. WHY would I do that!? I said she was refusing to help and the MA kept trying to sugarcoat it and say the doctor didn't think it was in my best interest and knew best but wasn't refusing to help, but I've been misdiagnosed by about 30 doctors so I don't give any of them the benefit of the doubt on being competent. I assume from the start that they aren't. Just look at the poor woman whose breast cancer was disregarded in another 1 star review of her on another popular review site. Killing myself due to chronic untreated severe pain is also not in my best interest as this is far from being my only problem. I'm not going to suffer unnecessarily bc a doctor is useless. If I need to take twice as much of the other drug for sufficient pain relief that's what I'm going to do so I'm really not sure what she thinks she accomplished here. I have prior documentation of severe menstrual cramps with 2 other doctors there but she claimed I needed an official endometriosis diagnosis for an NSAID?! And that I had only had this specific one once in a hospital (in this state!!!). What difference does that make? It's not an endometriosis specific drug and I assured them I wouldn't take it until I was told it was safe to do so after the first NSAID I took didn't help. The only way to get endometriosis officially diagnosed is with a laparascopic biopsy and I'm not supposed to have any elective surgical procedures until I get my cancerous adrenal gland removed lest I have a stroke during it, otherwise I'd be scheduling a hysterectomy. No official diagnosis is needed to prescribe that anyway and it's not like I was requesting fentanyl. This woman should know that but just insisted I needed to see a GYN first. Just totally illogical and utterly useless. It's downright insulting to be told, sure, come on in but I'm not doing anything for you and don't have any good advice. The only "help" she offered was to tell me to go to the ED if the pain is that severe. The entire reason I called the clinic is bc I get treated terribly there bc I have rare problems that offend their egos. The last time I was literally crying in the fetal position from the pain and all they'd do was offer me a totally useless OTC drug. I have such a high pain tolerance I once sat through an entire Broadway play having an appendicitis and I've almost never asked for anything for pain aside from when I've been admitted. So not only did she not help me, she suggested I go sit somewhere for hours in severe pain where no one else is going to help either. After her missed cancer diagnosis leading to a double mastectomy I imagine her malpractice rate may be quite high and she's overly afraid of losing her license. Other sites' reviews hint about not knowing what happened to her but I'm guessing she may have been unemployed while dealing with a malpractice suit or just bad optics. I also want to point out I've already had my spleen, appendix, and gallbladder removed so she couldn't have been concerned about those and menstrual pain is very distinct from the many other types of pain I've had for the last 40 years. I wish I could give negative stars.

Yelp 100 Challenge #70/100…read more Looking for a physician can be daunting and finding one that is compassionate, sincere, and takes care of you like family is very important to me. I made an appointment with Tiffany and she let me know that there is an option to fill out the forms online. I was so happy as filling out forms at the doctors office is tedious at times. Tiffany was great in taking the time to explain how to get to the site and where to fill out the forms. Thanks Tiffany! : ) I arrived for my appointment and was greeted by Jovi. Jovi was so nice and wonderful. They had a cool little electronic device that looked like a credit card reader where you can check in. Since I did the forms online I was done and only needed to show my ID and insurance card. Yay! Jovi called me in and I was taken to see the doc. When Dr. Bryant-Greenwood came in she had a big smile on her face and was happy to see me. I had a bunch of questions ready to go and she answered all of them and even asked more questions as I could tell she cared and wanted to know more to make sure she understood everything. During this whole time I felt at ease and not uncomfortable like those times you feel when seeing a new physician. Overall Dr. Bryant-Greenwood is just wonderful and I feel very blessed to have her as my doc. Thanks again to Dr. Bryant-Greenwood, Tiffany, and Jovi! You guys are the best!

In this paperwork - I requested that my images not be used for social media. I also indicated that seeing a PA was okay - but I didn't fully understand that meant the PA would be doing the procedure. ********************************** The good: Was able to book appointment quickly. There is a $200 consultation fee that is applicable to the procedure. Surgery was scheduled the very next day and was relatively painless. The office staff, PA, etc. were all friendly. The office was clean. ************************************* The bad: I now have a scar that is whiter and a tad bit larger than the Xanthelasma that was removed. I now feel like the small smooth yellow buttery Xanthelasma was prettier and less noticeable than the new white rough scar .. ugh.... I keep asking myself what was the point of paying around $1,200 (ouch) to have it removed. I have been using silicone gel & tape as they recommended - but it hasn't helped. I have a consult scheduled with another plastic surgeon to see if anything can be done. My photos were used for social media (Instagram story) even though I requested they not be used when filling out the paperwork. The final straw that led me to write this review - I received a bill today, almost a month later - for $200 even though I paid everything up front. This was resolved over the phone after they admitted the error. ************************************* Conclusion: I wish I had looked into this more carefully. While the Yelp reviews were strong, they were not enough on their own to support such an important decision.
