Sometimes there is more than one way to fix a problem, and other times certain issues can wait to be handled later. This is why we keep returning--I trust their advice. Their work is always top-notch, and they honor it. My recent visit was for a basic oil change and a look-over for an upcoming trip. They found a few issues that could have been bad for me. Back in February or 2024 I had my engine replaced by Randall automotive. It was in my 2007 Ford F150. they gave me a ruff estimate of about 10k and it eneed up being over 14k. When I received the truck back the interior leather had oil and grease all over the front seats, steering wheel and front console. All of the leather cracked. I was given an apology and told he spoke to the mechanics . Truck broke down after a week due to fuel injector coming unclipped. knock sensor in block replaced after 3k miles on new motor due to using old knock sensor or not torque down correctly. All rocker arms lifters replaced after 9k by Jasper. The warranty covers around 60% to fix not 100. Engine was knocking around 3k miles and took it into another shop. Jasper made me wait to see if it got worse and it did. Extremely hard to work with and get reimbursed as warranty claims it covers. Now 18k into motor and ruined leather interior. I would never use this shop again and don't get a rebuilt motor from them. Dan Strunk read more

A few days ago after suggesting to a local car care center (Midas) over the phone that advertising one price in big bold fonts on their website then changing the price when making an appointment is in fact, a "bait and switch" tactic used by less than reputable companies and then being told they didn't want my business after all left me realizing why waste my time ever going back to Midas? Last year I was referred to Randall's Automotive when the Kiefer maintenance could not repair my car I purchased from them with a dealership warranty. In fact, Kiefer shopped around and could not find a local repair shop that could adequately repair my car until they found Randall's Automotive. The car was repaired in less than 2 hours. After my less than positive experience with Midas I contacted Randall's Automotive for the oil change Midas refused to do. Randall's unlike Midas advertise $24.99 for an oil change that includes all "fees" Midas does not include fees in their $19.99 price. Everyone has an opinion, and an experience. My experience with Randall's Automotive was excellent. The appointment was made over the phone. A reminder email was sent out. Lee handled my appointment start to finish. There was no up-selling, though I did ask a lot of questions and was met with answers that made sense. Lee was not going suggest something I needed unless I asked the question. He advised another customer to wait on the purchase of a new car until they we able to discern if her problem was irreparable. I have never had a more pleasant disaster in my life. Last Thurs. my van decided to conk out after filling up at Fred Meyer gas station at 4:30 p.m. I wasn't 100 ft. from the pump when my van died. We live 60 miles from Eugene so I called my partner back home. He made calls to shops nearby the station. He called me to say John at Randall's was driving out to see if he could get the van started so I could drive it to his shop. Within 15 min. John showed up and tried to help the starter, but no go. I called my ins. tow service so John handed my car key to the gas attendant, I put my ins. card on the driver's seat and John gave me a ride back to his shop. The attendant would give my key to the tow driver and tow it to the shop. My concern at this point was that it was approaching 5 p.m. and I needed to rent a car to get home (we only have one car). While I was registering my info w/ Lee at the front desk, John was on the phone calling car rental services to find me a car. Five minutes later John tells me there's a car for me at Enterprise and we gotta go! He drives me to Enterprise and goes in w/ me and makes sure I am set before leaving. So right there.....I feel I have had the best car breakdown of my life! This never would happen in any other city I am confident in saying. Friday morning I get a call about the diagnosis of my van's problem. It is a big deal- fuel filter replace and distributor assembly replace. Not cheap but my van is quite old and sounded right to me. By 4:00 on Friday my van was ready to go! I'M SOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy that Randall's is such a professional and caring car repair business. Been taking my chevy truck here for several years and proud to say they have been consistently professional, fast and friendly. I post this review at the risk of them getting busier which means I may have to wait longer for an appt. So far this has not been a problem. Fair prices, I for sure have saved $ $ on repairs compared to going to a dealer. Diesel trucks are already expensive to work on. Bottom line: They have not steered me wrong yet. My check engine light came on a few weeks back, so I scheduled an appointment with Randall's. I wanted peace of mind to know what was wrong. They quoted me for about $100 to diagnose the problem. (Just to diagnose it). When I arrived, the man I talked to seemed to speak down to me and belittle me. It was rude and I was unimpressed. So I took my business to Knetchts. They diagnosed the problem for free and in less than a minute. I wouldn't waste my time with Randall's. They're expensive, cocky, and seem to lack good customer service. read more

pros: cheap oil change cons: I purchased a new windshield wiper motor and warranty for my vehicle from Randalls Automotive. Before agreeing to purchase the product, Matthew from Randalls ensured me this product contained a warranty. Unfortunately, within the first two hours of driving my vehicle, the windshield wiper motor gave out while driving through a rainstorm out of town. I brought my vehicle back to Randalls and they stated that there would be an additional charge to fix the windshield wiper motor. I told Matthew that I was unwilling to pay additional money for the motor, as the product was still under warranty. He told me that the warranty is not valid. I later reached out to Randalls to get a copy of the receipt and warranty in writing. The employee at Randalls told me that they were unable to provide me a copy of the receipt and warranty, as it was "stuck in accounting", but that if I brought my truck back in, that they would "treat me right". They have not treated me right. They have lied to me since the initial quote. I will never bring my vehicle back to Randalls Automotive. The product makes an unnecessary clicking sound, likely due to defective work. Randalls is unwilling to honor their warranty, and I believe that I was scammed. read more

IMPORTANT!PLEASE READ! I went to Randall's for the first time October 2020. My jeep was leaking fluids from multiple spots and after hearing good things from a coworker, I went. I was greeted by Marvin who checks you in and I met, John, the owner. Both seemed really great and knowledgeable. They won me over and I trusted them with my jeep. After spending over $1000 with them, they told me my car was ready for pick up. After about an hour, I get a call from John, that they forgot to changes some hoses (which I was charge for)and needed me to bring the car back. It was a bit odd but, hey, accidents happen. They assured me the person who worked on my jeep was no longer an employee there and offered me a free oil change. Issue resolved. Last week my Jeep's steering wheel started to shake and I took it to Randall's. They noticed that my coolant was low and wanted to check if there was a leak, standard procedure right? Turns out there was a really "big crack" in my radiator that needed fixing. They quoted me $711 plus the diagnostic fees. Being naive,I agreed to it. They "fixed" the radiator and told me it was ready for pick up. They also fixed my signal blinker. I paid them almost $1100. They were suppose to fix my AC (quoted about $600), but didn't have the parts. They would fix my AC next week. I left Randall's feeling pretty excited to have my car back. As I was driving home, I heard a rattle coming from the front of my car. I was confused by this. I got home and asked my friend to go to Costco with me. On our drive there, the rattling continued to get worse, especially when I would speed up.I bought a few things at Costco and my car wouldn't start, so I called AAA. AAA shows up and tells me my car's battery was not put on right. The connectors were loose and came undone on my drive. He seemed pretty knowledgeable so he checked the radiator and noticed that my radiator was put on wrong. I felt my heart drop. I paid AAA $85. How was it possible that after paying over a $1000, Randall's let me drive off the way that I did. I went the next morning and informed Marvin of what happened and what I was told by AAA. He tried to reassure me that he would figure out what went wrong. After a few hours, I get a call from John, he told me that they had "fixed" my car and it was ready for pick up. I wanted to know what the issue was and he didn't know. He asked me whether I had taken my car somewhere and I informed him I went to Costco. He suggested that my car was probably hit by someone causing the radiator to shift? How was that even possible since Costco has side walks between cars? I told him I heard the sound on my way home. I also pointed out the batter wasn't on right. He said he missed that and apologized. An apology wasn't enough, I asked for a refund. He offered to pay for my AAA fee and offered a 10% off my AC repair(quoted close to $600 so $60 off the repair) I was insulted. I told him what makes you think I would bring back my car to you after all this. I was understanding the first time you "forgot" something but twice now? Not only that but letting me drive in unsafe conditions? He apologizes again, I proceeded to tell him I no longer wanted to get my AC unit repaired. He informed me they ordered the parts and that I was blowing this out of proportion and I was being ridiculous. Yup, he called me ridiculous. I did not feel safe going to the shop by myself to pick up my car so I asked a friend(male) to go with me. He spoke to John about what had occurred twice was completely unprofessional and that they took advantage of me. The radiator itself was worth $150 max plus 1-2 hours of labor, but I was being charged way over price. They took advantage of me for being a woman. John admitted he did not inspect the car himself. He just let his techs work on it. You would hope that an owner would look after the work of his employees. Not the case with John. John finally agreed to refund me $250. It didn't feel like enough for all the trouble they had caused but it was something. As we arrived home, my friend checked my car and noticed that they didn't really fix the rattling in the radiator, instead, they just removed the fan shroud. So after wasting $750, my car is still not right. It is so upsetting that there are people like John who take advantage of women like myself. It sucks that I needed to have a male presence in order to be taken serious.I feel taken advantage of and made to feel like a fool. I'm not even sure if my radiator was really broken or they only told me that just to get money out of me. I am truly worried they might have messed something else while "fixing" my car. I'm out $750 dollars and my car still needs to be fixed. I wish I could get a full refund for all of this but I highly doubt they would take responsibility for their actions. Please do NOT go to Randall's unless you want to be taken advantage of, want to spend a lot of money, and not have a functioning car. read more

We had an apt to get a service engine light checked on my daughter's car. Besides being treated like dumb "women", it was $99.95 to diagnose a problem that we ended up getting for free at Knechts. And a simple, inexpensive fix. We wouldn't have minded spending the money for the diagnosis, but being talked down to left us knowing we were better off getting our car services elsewhere. read more

The first time was great and no complaints, but that was there old staff...they had a bunch of new people in there and they were friendly but were trying to tell me I needed a coolant flush and a new thermostat and basically trying to upsale me..well I just had a coolant flush last month and my thermostat is fine..don't think I'll be back. So glad I tried out Randall's today! We just moved to town and due for an oil change. Randall's was SUPER friendly on the phone and able to set an appointment when I needed it. They were ready for my car when we got to the shop and got going right away. They went on a test drive with me so I could have them listen to a noise I had been hearing and knew exactly what it was! Thankfully nothing that needs immediate attention and as the dentist says, we can just keep an eye on it for now, or in this case, I guess an ear on it for now. Top Notch Service! We had purchased a used car & within a couple weeks on my weekly commute from Sunriver to Eugene the service engine light came on & my car lost speed! Worried we bought a lemon I was terrified & a frantic mess to find a shop. I called a shop that advertises on radio & so happy they never answered their phone! I started reading reviews & Randalls sounded positive & trust worthy. John was understanding & was able to look at my car that day. Providing me shuttle service back to work. When I called back the next day cause the car acted up again. They came & picked up my car for me! John ran diagnostics on it again, didn't find any error codes but decided to change out a spark plug (on his dime), & explained the issues. He also took time to look up the VIN # & researched the history of car & its services! Talk about going the extra mile! John also wanted to see the car for one last check before I made my next trip over the mountain & didn't charge me for that check up either! John really put me at ease, was thorough, affordable, fair & accommodating. Im very appreciative to John & his amazing team & for making me feel like I was their only customer. You owe yourself & your auto the care you will receive at Randall's! Their care & compassion show & they have something special here! I look forward to my oil changes & any future service needed! I brought my 06 Subaru STI into Randall's for its 90k mile maintenance: Change oil and filter Change coolant Change front and rear diff. gear oil Change auto trans fluid Change brake fluid (Spark plugs had been replaced recently) (Air filter had been serviced in the last 10k miles) I had a great experience with the shop staff. They recommended that I replace my timing belt, (not due until 105k miles), and I agreed knowing that I would save some money on labor since it would be easier to access the timing belt when they flushed and replaced the coolant. I was then given a couple different options for service packages, one including a tune up and emission service, another including the timing belt and what I had thought would be the rest of the 90k mile service. (Emission service and intake decarbonization are not standard in the 90k maintenance for 06 STIs.) I opted for the package without the tune, thinking I would receive a new timing belt along with my 90k maintenance, (listed above), and believed to have received stellar service up until today. After taking my 06 STI to another shop for an airbag recall, I requested a multi-point inspection to make sure everything in my car is running smoothly before I sell it at the end of this year. Lo and behold, the second shop has told me that the diff fluid, brake fluid, steering fluid, and Oil ALL need to be changed less than two weeks later. Understandably, I phoned Randall's to see where the wires got crossed thinking this could be an honest mistake, and to see if there was some way we could work a deal out. Randall's response was that it was my fault, (I didn't take the package with the tune up and decarbonization), and that I would need to bring my car back to them and see what they recommended... again. Long story short, I went in for a 90k maintenance, was upsold on a new timing belt, didn't receive the services I originally requested, and now they want more money to fix the problem I had brought them to begin with - classic bait and switch. If you have received service here recently, I highly recommend getting a second opinion from a different shop to make sure that services have been properly rendered. read more

I was nervous. The last thing I wanted to do was take my van to an auto shop. A trusted friend recommended Randall's and I had throw the card in my wallet. Turns out that card came in handy just this week. My car overheated over the weekend and I drove into Randall's Monday morning. Our first experience at Randall's was pretty positive, but our second will be our last. Maybe it's a busy time of year, but they did not check their work. We took our car in for a fairly basic fix, but the ride home revealed that the problem was worse than it started after paying $200. They were nice enough to tow the car back and refix it. Another $400 later, and the car is noticeably worse yet again on the ride home. This time, they want $800 to fix it. Even if all of the repairs were legitimate, the fact that they gave us back our car worse than we gave it to them TWICE is inexcusable. read more

Took my daughter's car in to get a possible issue looked at. Barry and the boys really looked it over and tested it. They gave me some good suggestions and good prices, BUT they also said it wasn't a safety issue and if she didn't have the funds to get it taken care of right away, it wouldn't hurt the car or passengers! Our Honda started make awful noises when first starting. After taking it elsewhere and getting a diagnosis that we needed a new water pump for $700.00, we took it to Randall's. They took a different approach. First, they did the simplest thing. That worked for a couple days but wasn't a permanent fix, so Randall's had us bring it back. Ultimately, they ordered a one dollar ring and replaced it. Total cost to have a purring engine again was $58.00. My husband and I were beyond impressed. We where going on a cross country trip and came in to check out a possible transmission leak and loose steering box. We called Randall's last minute the day before and even though they were super busy they squeezed us in first thing the next morning. They checked the truck over and it turned out there was no transmission leak. They topped off our steering fluid, checked all the levels and tire pressure on our truck and trailer, tightened the lug nuts on the trailer, and said goodbye after about 20 minutes with a shake and a smile and no charge. Everyone was honest and super nice. I will definitely come here again if I need auto work in Eugene. read more

I went in to get a inspection on a car before I bought it. They said that their was something wrong with a wheel bearing and It would cost about six hundred dollars to repair. I ended up buying the car and having it in at another shop so I could buy new tiers before my next appointment at Randall's automotive to fix the problem they diagnosed. I asked them to look at it as well because I had not been able to hear the sounds they had claimed to be hearing. The second shop said that their was no problem but even if it did become a problem (which a month and a half later it hasn't) They could do the same repair for 250$. That is less then half the amount Randall's was going to charge me, even better for a problem that wasn't their. My partner has been using this auto-shop for years now and has never had a problem. I have been their twice and can't help but to think they are trying to rip my off because I am a women. very upsetting and disappointing. I even thought a honest mistake may have happened so on the next day when I went in for my appointment I asked them to look at it again because I could not hear the noise. They did and still said I was something that needed fixing and gave me the same quote. I will never go back. SO DISAPPOINTED. read more

To echo the other reviewers, Randall's is fantastic. I'm not a car guy, but I always feel like they provide great service, and don't take advantage. I'm a poor grad student with an aging car, and they are always very helpful in deciding what is a priority at the moment, and what might be left to take care of at a later time. This week I had a rattling engine, a check oil light coming on and a tire that was almost flat. I took the car in, they got me in immediately, I was given a ride to and from work by a great/friendly young staff member (I don't remember his name, but shout-out!), and I think I left paying less than $30 for just an oil change. Come on! And they advised me to bring the car back to be checked out if I didn't feel comfortable. I've been going there for years, and I always feel happy with their exceptional service. I think many people come to Yelp to blast a business for doing them wrong, but I've been so impressed and happy with Randall's. read more

Exceptional Service! We were passing through Eugene and were experiencing engine trouble with our motorhome. We phoned Randall"s and the owner, John, assured me he could fix me up and get me back on the road. He obtained the part I needed and he, with several of his technicians, went beyond my expectations and did, indeed, fix my problem and got me back on the road. Here a little back story: when I got my new to me car, I was under the assumption it needed a new water pump because the previous owner said that a car shop had recommended this work to them. I called around for estimates and landed at Randall's. The person on the phone was super friendly which immediately made me feel more comfortable and instead of giving me a price they said they would give the car a free once over to make sure it even needed a new pump. This stuck out to me so I made an appointment. They shuttled me to and from work while they had my car which was awesome. When I got it back I got a bill with $0.00 charge. They said they couldn't charge me anything because nothing was wrong. It turned out the car had a brand new water pump and no leaks. Sweet! They could have easily taken advantage of this situation bc I wouldn't have known any better but they didn't. My boyfriend has taken his car there for some work after this and we both had oil changes done (they have 24.99 oil changes and every 5th is free). They are always friendly on the phone, you can get in quickly and they happen to be conveniently located to my relative location. I would recommend this shop. read more
