This unsuspecting gem will now and forever be a go-to restaurant when Im visiting up North. Yelped a breakfast spot close to the Little Daisy Motel and landed on Randalls. It was an early morning after a late night. We tried to get delivery but Im happy we didn't making us get up and GO! What we found was a small joint with a Cheers like vibe, not the bar part of Cheer but where everybody knows your name. Our waitress, Krista, (hope thats right, she deserves for me to get it right) was warm and familiar. She felt like an Icon, people frequent this restaurant if not for the food, then for her. This is not a fact, just the way it felt. Entire staff we interacted with were beyond friendly, they were kind and authentic. No pictures but want to shout out the hot chocolate my Grandson and I asked for. Like everything at Randalls, they were so much more than expected. An x-large mug filled with creamy, dreamy cocoa, heaping with whipped cream drizzled with caramel and chocolate syrup. Yum-O! DRINK THIS. I heard the coffee was amazing too. The food finds. Lots of menu options but this is what we landed on. Chicken Fried Steak Verde with Biscuits & Gravy: Covered and smothered, I was told it was different and delicious. Chicken fried steak can take on different textures and this texture was "perfect". I can attest the homemade biscuits are what you want a biscuit to be. Not crumble when you bite it but raised with a density and moistness you use your tounge or finger to help it off the roof of your mouth. I dont like sausage or bacon gravy but if you do, you'll enjoy this in totality. EAT BOTH OF THESE. I got a plain biscuit to go. Pastrami Rueben and New England Clam Chowder: While the pastrami was not cut from a made in house slab, this sandwich was so good, perfectly grilled bread and the saurkraut was NOT bitter or too sour. The homemade thousand islands dressing sealed the deal on the sandwich. I was leary about the NE clam chowder because of its yellowish color, so glad I was wrong. It was flavorful and balanced between clams and potatoes. EAT THESE BOTH. I brought some of this dressing AND chowder home. Mmm hmm sure did. Apple Cinnamon Pancakes: My grandson ordered these and Krista suggested a short stack but let him know if he finishes it and is still hungry, she'd get him another. These pancakes taste as good as they look. The batter produced fluffy, tasteful pancakes. Apple compote not too sweet, not under or overcooked. Its safe to EAT THESE! Ribeye Steak and Eggs: You can see the grill marks in the photo and thats what it was a perfectly cooked, (maybe seasoned with lights salt) tender steak. This breakfast steak was so trim that the 8oz was meat, not fat. EAT THIS! Eggs are fresh and it deserves to be said they do hashbrowns right. The cooks make sure to get that crispness on the outside that make hashbrowns so good. Its a hashbrown skill thats either overlooked or under executed. Went to Randalls for breakfast, left with homemade biscuit, dressing, clam chowder, apple butter and OH I almost forgot, a big-ole' cinnamon roll (gifted to my daughter because it was her birthday) that was still warm from the oven and so much more. Now here's a cute little local restaurant in Cottonwood. They're open for breakfast and lunch but serve breakfast all day. I came in and it was very busy around noon. It was a hard time to get a seat right away, but it was definitely worth it. I ordered a bacon and avocado omelette with hashbrowns and toast, and it was a solid breakfast. The wait time was a little long, but they were extremely busy and I wasn't in a hurry. It was filled with locals, which is always a good sign. The prices were reasonable, and the service was excellent. Definitely a go to spot for some good food. read more

The place was clean so that's good and very helpful staff just happy to see you. Definitely glad to have tried this little gem! Service was excellent even on a busy weekday morning - our server was very patient with me when I was being indecisive and offered helpful suggestions. When I said I was wavering between pancakes and an omelette she was quick to steer me toward the omelette and offer suggestions for her favorites. I ended up getting the chorizo and was excited when it arrived with the sausage baked into the eggs and not just layered in between. This place was recommended to my husband and we decided to try it out, bad idea!! Took over 45 min for our food. The place is like a school cafeteria. And they had 2 huge parties that they were obviously understaffed for that amount of customers. We both ordered the country fried steak with hash browns and eggs. This is a great hometown-style Cafe. It is definitely no greasy-spoon. If you want great no-frills American cooking, you definitely want to come here. It's become my favorite breakfast place. Their waffles are really yummy, my favorites are the blueberry and the bacon pecan. The hash browns are perfect, crispy-crunchy on the outside and soft and creamy inside; I like them O'Brien style with onion and sweet pepper. They cook your eggs perfectly to order. They have great specials and a senior menu that is reasonable, generous portions and delicious. The hamburgers are char-grilled and taste like they came from a backyard barbecue. The sandwiches are never skimpy and done right. I have taken guests there multiple times and they have raved about the quality of the food and the size of the portions. Randall's is definitely the place to go in Cottonwood to eat breakfast. Btw, they are closed for dinner. The plate you are looking at is half the other half my wife had. They have two kinds of corn beef and eggs. Ones out of the can and the other is homemade. Homemade cost a buck or so more, but spend it, you won't go wrong. Also, biscuits and gravy are pretty good. Not the best I ever but pretty good. You really get your money's worth here. And the food tastes and looks like home style and they cared about the food. Waitress was super nice and very attentive. I even got called Hun several times. That's fine with me. Good eats here, for sure. read more

Great location, right off the main road. Great service. Great food! Stopped in after doing a half marathon in Sedona. Was looking for a basic, simple place that wouldn't charge $30 for breakfast. It's located in a strip mall, so don't let that sway you. It's got a nice hometown feel, a place where locals go, and the staff know their name. (always a plus in my book.) I am in town for Vertical Horizon concert at Thunder Valley Rally. Skillet didn't look like much and I normally prefer Mexican or Southwestern style but this Southern style was really good. Home fries, chicken fried steak (i think) eggs over medium, cheese, gravy. 5 of 5 Biscuits and gravy were also great. Reminds me why sausage gravy is so yummy, just that little kick. 4.5 of 5. Service was very good too, despite being seated next to kitchen, i didn't feel it was too loud. Place was almost full around 8:30 AM on Saturday. Parking could be scarce but i pulled in as somebody was leaving. I ordered a waffle and bacon off kids menu for dessert. Waffle was crispy on outside and fluffy inside. Great. Bacon was good. This is the go to breakfast/lunch place in Cottonwood. They open early and close at two. During the busy season be prepared to wait. Now onto the food... I had the eggs Benedict. It was a tossup between that and the Ruben. Our waitress recommended the eggs Benedict because of the homemade hollandaise. It was fantastic. One of the eggs was cooked perfectly and the other one was overcooked. Instead of Canadian bacon there was grilled ham which was very good. I had extra done hashbrowns that were also good. My friend had the Robbie burger. It has bacon, green chilies and cheese. The burger was well prepared and tasty. She had the fries with it and a side of blue cheese dressing, which is also homemade. The blue cheese dressing was garlicky and delicious. The other member of our party had pancakes, eggs, and bacon. The bacon looked delicious, thick, and not too much fat on it. The coffee was good. Our server was wonderful. She did not steer us wrong on any of our meals. She was busy yet attentive. The restaurant is pretty large and still there was a lot of people waiting at 11:30 in the morning. They close at 2:00pm. We're going back tomorrow for salads with the blue cheese dressing before we head back to LA. read more

Busy busy but still they were able to provide great service and a delicious breakfast Our last day in Sedona had us do a nice recovery hike in the morning, followed by checking out of the hotel and proceeding to Jerome before going back to Phoenix. We were quite hungry as we were with empty stomachs. The great reviews posted for Randall's convinced us to go there especially as it was on the way to Jerome. Going in, their system is to sign in at the desk, perhaps because they were so busy. It took less than five minutes and we were seated and with coffee and water at our table. Ambiance at Randall's is very Southwest which is what we came here to see. A very diverse crowd with every walk of life represented. Lovely atmosphere. The food was superb. I had a sumptuous Veggie Omelet with Cottage Cheese and y my husband had a the Eggs Benedict with hash browns. And plenty of coffee. Plus for service, food and ambiance. We loved it. read more

Made a quick trip for breakfast while staying in town. Food was delicious and service was great. Even though they're currently having work done on building, it was packed with people of all ages. I had the apricot French toast with meat and eggs special, and it was delicious! Apricot preserves on top were sweet without being sickly sweet. Eggs were cooked to perfection and sausage was tasty. My dad had the eggs benedict, said his only complaint that the side of hash browns was a little lacking in quality and portion size, but they were still good enough to eat. We've been occasionally eating breakfast here for a number of years. Wife and I stopped in after a medical appointment late one morning. The service was excellent as always. I decided to have eggs with the biscuits and gravy side. The absolute worst biscuits I've ever tried to eat, they were so old they were Hockey Puck hard. The gravy was extremely salty. The food quality seems to be slipping downward the last couple of years. There are a couple of other places in town that offer the same food and price, I'll be recommending them instead. read more

Simple dinner with good food and good service. They run senior specials daily and it's very popular with that age group. We came in around 11:30 am on a Monday and there wasn't any wait. We both chose from the breakfast menu and received our meals quickly. My omelette was good but nothing special but had plenty of bacon but just half of an avocado on top. My toast was a little burnt but not enough to ask for different pieces. My hubby's plate looked better and he enjoyed the whole thing. He chose a pancake side which was better than the toast I had. All in all if your looking for a quick diner option this will work. Oh. Parking is a problem but there is more parking in the back. read more

Small business but definitely worth checking out, my nephew and I were passing through and came across this place just by a glance. The service was amazing, our waitress was super nice and friendly. Excellent food!! I didn't think to take photos. We order the chicken fried steak and the Jr combo. The chicken fried steak was fair (not homemade) but good. What made this dish best was the homemade hash browns and the biscuits and gravy. The jr combo was actually more like a large combo. The pancakes were thick and big. Tasted great. Unfortunately, we were seated in the back. Which led to us and other back room patrons being overlooked for coffee and other needs. Our first cup of coffee was lukewarm. The front part of the dining room was well run and those patrons got their cups and needs looked after on a much more frequent basis. Our server was very pleasant and friendly. Service at the rear was poor in terms of attention. The service to the front was like a well oiled machine. I would definitely come back and ask or wait for front of the house seating.
