I did a day trip to Cottonwood with my sister and my friend. When planning the trip I came across this restaurant and made reservations for us to dine in for lunch. Once we arrived it was such an awesome experience. We were greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant. I liked that they offered is to chose where we wanted to be seated. It was a lovely day, so we chose outside. The patio was a nice size with beautiful plants and flowers all around. The seating was comfortable and I was very glad to be comfortable outside to have lunch. The wait staff was excellent. I forgot the ladies name who seated us but she was super friendly. Our waiter Nathan was training Eric and they were both very nice. Nathan gave a breakdown of the specials and suggested a few of his favorites. My friend is gluten sensitive and Nathan made.sure to advise her of the GF menu options. I ordered the Goat Cheese Brie which was amazing. I could have eaten that as my meal. I've never had anything so delicious. For my entree I ordered the Desert Blue Burger and it was excellent. It came out beautifully plated and was served hot and fresh. Their duck leg in mole sauce special is seriously SO GOOD! I am praying they'll add it to their menu permanently. Bang bang shrimp appetizer is perfectly fried, plump shrimp, light and crispy coating. My husband said his house margarita was "the best margarita I've had in a long time". Props to bartender! I had the cod special and the fish was a huge filet, cooked to perfection quite literally. I wasn't in love with the sauce or black bean cake, but it was still tasty. It's just preference. We started with the sweet and sour cauliflower which they were able to use a gluten free batter for me, and also a tortilla soup which was fabulous - highly recommended. The balance of flavors for both starters was excellent. I had the Poblano chicken sandwich and salad on gluten free bun. Loved that it was overflowing with caramelized onions, peppers and of course big poblano peppers, The salad was also great, watermelon radish, carrots, celery, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and with a nice healthy vinegar based dressing on the side. Our waiter was attentive but did not tell us about the specials. The busboy kept our water filled. We started with the cauliflower appetizer. It was very tasty. The sauce was spicy and the cauliflower was tender and firm. I had a lavender lemonade. It was not a sweet lemonade. For dinner I had the fish and chips. The fish was tender and flakey. The breading was gluten free. The accompanying kale slaw was refreshing. The kale was tender and the citrus dressing wa light and sweet. My husband had the mutombo burger. It was huge. My husband and I have been to this restaurant multiple times and had Eden cater our wedding (last night). The first was for a tasting, everything was supper professional and warm and rustic. I really liked the patio garden and thought it was well kept. Eden provided amazing guidance on choices and was a great listener. We liked it so we decided to make it a point to stop in whenever we visit, which is quite often. The service is good but on one occasion we were seated outside and there was miscommunication within the staff so we were forgotten but the food is well worth the wait. I had a mandarin salad that's no longer on the menu, we've had her chicken piccata and OH MY GOD ITS AMAZING, we did their corn dip and we fought over that, the fish and chips made my mouth water. We had an amazing time nonetheless and have only positive things to stay about Eden and her establishment. If I could give it ten stars I would. She did an amazing job at our wedding!!! My husband and I were in town for my birthday weekend and we decided to head into Eden because of the glowing reviews and from the pictures, the atmosphere looked classy but, not stuffy. The restaurant is nestled off the main road in a plaza with other businesses but, parking was easy. We walked in and immediately fell in love! The interior was beautiful with local artwork, plants, and lovely elegant touches everywhere. We sat at the bar and were helped immediately. Every bartender chatted with us, answered menu questions and was so personable. My husband ordered a local beer and I had a delicious orange spritz with Eden's rosé. It was perfect! In fact, their wine was buttery, rich and really delicious. I ordered the tortilla soup which was so flavorful, perfect spice and fantastic. My husband absolutely loved his tacos. He ate all three. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food. When we finished we immediately wanted to plan our next trip. Well we had high hopes for this restaurant because of a recommendation from a friend. I would give it 4 stars for the drinks but only 3 for the food. We had a party of five and ordered one of the burgers, the Steak Frites, the butternut squash ravioli, the chicken piccata, a bowl of chicken tortilla soup, and the grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was good except the chicken sandwich and the chicken piccata. Whoever was cooking the chicken that night was overcooking it. The grilled chicken was black on the edges and the chicken piccata was dry. Other than that, the service was great and the atmosphere was very nice. A Must-Visit Culinary Gem! We were recommended by a local B&B (Origins) that Eden's was a "must-visit," and wow, they were not kidding! From the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless. We were seated by a friendly hostess and looked after by two exceptional servers (one was in training, but you'd never know it). It's clear the staff truly cares about the product and the guest experience; they were incredibly knowledgeable about the wine, spirits, and food pairings. The Drinks Golden Hour Aperol Spritz: Crisp, sweet, and tart. I had two because they were that good! Demeter Martini: My husband loved this, served ice cold and "just dirty enough." They use Castelvetrano olives and brine, which made a huge difference. Timeless Tree Top Old Fashioned: A perfect for a night cap. The Boozy Affogato that was the perfect final note. The Food We started with the Shrimp Cocktail. The shrimp were perfectly cold, the Asian slaw "slapped," and the spicy cilantro cocktail sauce had the perfect balance. We missed the Ceviche special this time, but we'll definitely be back for it! For the mains: Chilean Sea Bass (Special): Served in a butter bean and garbanzo broth with chorizo and smoked tomato butter. It was complex and rich, yet surprisingly light. Every bite revealed a new layer of flavor. Crispy Slow-Braised Beeler's Pork: Served with fresh ramen and stir-fried Asian vegetables. I don't think I've ever tasted anything so delicious. It was tender, crispy, and "lick the plate" worthy! Get this dish. The Pairings The servers really knew their stuff. They suggested a Blanc de Blancs bubbles to pair with my Sea Bass and the Eschol Red Blend for my husband's pork. Both were spot-on. We came here for dinner on Saturday night, and the service was excellent. I wasn't a fan of the summer gazpacho--it tasted more like an off-flavored salsa to me. On the other hand, the Bangkok shrimp appetizer was really good. The chicken tinga tacos didn't hit the mark for me at all, and the wild Nordic salmon tasted too fishy. However, I really enjoyed the roasted lamb with olive chutney--it was a standout dish. As for the cocktails, I didn't care for the Pushing Daisies, Garden Remedy, or Italian Stallion. They were out of kiwi, so I wasn't able to try the Kiwi Situation. read more

I really wanted to give this restaurant a higher rating, and I'm going to break it down as to why I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 4+. We arrived on time for our reservation and checked in with the host. Whom proceeded to point to our table, but did not take us to our table. Not what we expected, but, ok. After that, we sat, for a good 15 minutes before the host mentioned to our server that we had arrived. Our server, Lauren, was amazing during the entire meal, which had moments of brilliance, and, unfortunately, a couple of stumbles. Stumble number one started with our drink order. Their menu consists of specialty cocktails and a few wines. Neither of which we were interested in. So I ask about whiskeys and there is the first stumble. Server assures us they have some. She heads to the bar to see what is available, and comes back with 4 bottle names, and mentions there are more, but no menu is available. The few bar seats are full, so I'm unwilling to walk up to the bar to see what is available, and the bottles are not on the wall, but on a shelf behind the bartender and waist level, not visible from beyond the bar. I let my wife order her drink, and I just decide to drink water. Lauren, offers to bring me a glass of wine, which I accept and it turns out the house wine is quite decent. We order a salad to share, which was excellent, and then move onto our entree. I have been having a terrible time ordering a steak all weekend, but I figure third time is the charm. My wife orders the Truffled Porcini Ravioli. Both items arrive and the ravioli looks amazing. My steak frites looks good too. Then I taste the steak that I ordered medium rare. It's cold, barely warmer than the very cold red chimichurri sauce. And the fries, ordered extra crispy, arrived barely crispy. An interesting feat by the kitchen, since the fries are of the shoestring variety. The brightest spot of the meal was the ravioli, which was probably some of the best I have ever tasted. Ironically served significantly hotter than my steak, and a much more impressive presentation. Our server was appalled and replaced the steak and took that part of our meal off our bill. Begin rant. What is it with restaurants and their inability to deliver hot food to the table? If you can't time it properly, then just send out the hot food when it is ready. End rant. I want to try Eden again and give them a second chance because the staff is good, and, some of our meal was absolutely amazing. I just can't wrap my head around the fact that one of the simplest items on the menu was screwed up, and one of the more complicated items was extraordinary. read more

Eden in Cottonwood - A Rainy Night, a Perfect Dinner, and the Best Bartender in Arizona We came into Eden around 4:30 p.m. on a rainy Cottonwood afternoon -- not expecting much more than a cozy dinner and a cocktail. What we got instead was one of the most memorable nights we've had in a long time. We were greeted and seated by Zach, who also ended up being our server. He's newer to the floor, but you could tell he cared. His timing was great, he was attentive without hovering, and he made us feel welcome the entire evening. He deserves a solid shout-out -- but the spotlight of the night, without question, was Cody at the bar. We ordered one drink to go with our meal, and it was so good we literally paused and said, "Who made this?" We asked to meet the bartender -- and Cody came over like a low-key magician. That's when the night really started. With Cody now in the mix, he crafted us more drinks to pair with our dinner, and every single one was better than the last. His knowledge of spirits, his ability to build flavors without relying on sugar, and the fresh ingredients (including edible flowers from his own garden) made each drink feel like its own experience. Dinner itself was also fantastic. I had the steak frites -- cooked medium rare with chimichurri on the side -- served with crispy, golden truffle fries and a side of roasted broccolini. Everything was well-seasoned, hot, and satisfying. My girlfriend, Diana, ordered one of Eden's seasonal shrimp pasta dishes, and it was just as impressive -- creamy, rich, and full of flavor without being heavy. After finishing dinner and paying the check, we weren't ready to leave -- not with Cody behind the bar. We walked over and spent the rest of the evening tasting more of his creations. Between the two of us, we each had about 4 to 7 drinks total -- and somehow, every single one was exceptional. One standout was the authentic Mexican Carajillo -- Licor 43 and freshly pulled espresso, done the traditional way. Another was a cantaloupe margarita that was fresh, light, and perfectly balanced. I also had a cocktail built around Oaxacan white whiskey that had depth and warmth without overwhelming the palate. Cody doesn't just pour drinks -- he crafts stories. He explained the origins of the spirits, asked about our preferences, and made everything from scratch using quality ingredients. He's passionate about his craft, and it shows in every detail. The drinks were so clean and balanced that we felt amazing the next day -- no hangovers, no sugar crash. Just pure, handcrafted quality. By the end of the night, the rain was still tapping on the windows, the bar was glowing, and we genuinely didn't want to leave. We'd come in for a quiet dinner, and we walked out having found our new favorite local spot -- and hands down, the best bartender we've ever met in Arizona. If you like spice and don't want meat, this is a great plate. My boyfriend said the lamb was tender and perfectly cooked and filled him up. He wasn't a fan of the olives but it didn't sway his opinion of the dish. Our friend got the filet mignon and it was incredible, and his girlfriend had the scampi. All the staff have always been amazing, but this last time we had a young gentleman named Nathan. I must say, he was probably one of the best servers I've had at any restaurant in years...maybe ever. He was attentive, funny, honest, engaging and shared just enough and was interested just enough in each person he served to make each person feel welcome and special. That is a talent you rarely find now a days. The Chef there is amazing too. What a fabulous surprise this place is! I was taken here for my birthday and had one of the best steaks ever! Feels like you're getting away to somewhere super fabulous and I forgot I was just right down the way in Cottonwood. The lighting and ambience was fresh and sweet . I'm not usually a elote person but I ordered it and it was delicious. My filet mignon cooked perfectly like a dream and I can't remember what Mezcal cocktail I got, but it was on point. This is the best restaurant in Cottonwood. But on a visit for lunch yesterday, things were not all good. The waitstaff seemed overworked. After our food was served, nobody came by to check, "Is everything ok? Do you need anything else?" Well, things were not ok. A hamburger which was supposed to be medium-well came out beyond well-done. Orders for water were continually messed up. Requests for condiments were not right. This is a full-service, sitdown restaurant. Such things should not happen here. The menu is the best in town. But you can't eat the menu, the food and service have to be right too, and they were not. read more
