Because the staff members were multitasking--juggling both the artifact shop sales and the cafe counter--we experienced a bit of a wait just to have our order taken. For amenities, the location features a single all-gender restroom. While the coffee menu boasts a great variety of options, the actual drinks were disappointing. None of us felt any of the expected effects from our orders; the coffee felt significantly weak and entirely lacked a caffeine kick. Hi this is my first review that isn't good. Im all about positivity and i thought i wont leave a review but than i thought "How are they ever going to improve?" My last time to this place a few months ago i ordered food to go from the register up front. I waited 1 hour and the food never came so i asked and her and her reply was "I just had a group of 20 people walk in before you." So i canceled my order and got my money back and i left hungry. I wanted my food not a head count. I though i would give them a second chance today.We ordered a hot dog, mac and cheese and a tuna sandwich. We waited 50 minutes and even the tables next to us asked us how long we have been waiting? Please hire some more qualified people & more chefs. What a happy surprise. Deceptively small from the outside but quite expansive inside. Simple but pleasant furnishings. Service and food were top-notch. The Reuben sandwich was thick with meat! I have read the reviews many times and finally found myself right place/right time. They are located across Main Street from my very favorite bread at Wingfield. The entry is a small ice cream parlor and a gift store. I was greeted and asked if I was looking for the cafe, which is a large dining room and bar seating in the back of the building! The dining room is large and several parties for lunch. I sat at the bar and was greeted promptly. I ordered the homemade chicken salad with fries and an iced tea. Chicken salad is plentiful, I added pepper Jack for an additional charge. Prices are in line with everywhere in the verde valley. They make desserts and pies to go that looked amazing. The mercantile also had local beef, which I promptly purchased a 1.5 pound London Broil...super stoked! Next time I'll try the ice cream! read more

My wife and I came in here for breakfast. I'm celiac and can't eat gluten. It is not a choice. I wanted to order the breakfast bowl, an egg-bacon-cheese-potato dish that sounded good and was safe for me except for the flour-based sausage gravy they pour on it. I asked for it--everything except the gravy, and was surprised by the server's response: "We don't make it that way." I mean, really? Needless to say, they didn't have any GF bread options, not even corn tortillas. The alternative dish I was compelled to order was okay, but no better than the other breakfast places in town, like Babe's Roundup (which is much more GF friendly). Besides not being able to order what I wanted, I don't feel I got my money's worth either. So this place gets one star from me for its attitude, which seems to be: "We serve what the cook wants to cook, not what the customer wants [or needs]." read more

To start of the ambiance is cute and quaint, its got local artists paintings on the walls for sale, and friendly staff and ABSOLUTELY AMAZING FOOD! you can tell the food is cooked with care and love! What a gem! This place is thought the gift shop. It was very busy on this Monday day afternoon. The cup of soup was a bowl. It was tomato but was more like a tomato bisque. Beware of the hours posted not matching service. We tried to visit this restaurant on a Monday for breakfast. Website and online reviews said breakfast was served until 11, arrive at 10:20 and see it says on the door breakfast until 10:30. But when we walked inside the host told us the kitchen was closed and we would have to come back at 11 when lunch service began. Disappointing to say the least, especially when there's nothing else open in the immediate area on a Monday morning. Quite possibly the worst breakfast I have had in years. The Belgian waffle batter was dry and chewy making it un edible. I asked for extra crispy bacon, and I received half raw chewy bacon. The scrambled eggs were good My wife ordered a ham and cheese croissant, the ham tasted nasty, and the bottom of the croissant was absolutely saturated in grease. Seeking a place for a great meal just off 17? We were and are so happy we stopped by Udderly Divine. My wife loves breakfast and fortunately for us we arrived in time to get some. My wife's omelet was SO good (she gave me a bite) with bacon, onions, bell pepper and peppers. I had a half breakfast (which I was happy they had as an option) with a scrambled egg, bacon, home fries and wheat toast. Everything was delicious. Their bread tastes home baked. Service was excellent. They have a cute gift shop up front. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. I cannot recommend this cafe more. A group of us stopped in here for lunch. What a treat!! Many homemade items including egg salad, chicken salad, tuna salad. And, speaking of salads, they're huge. They are served on a platter. The servings are so generous that none of us, even the guys, were able to finish their entire meal. Everything was delicious and extremely reasonably priced. The ONLY non fast food choice on your way to or from the Grand Canyon and a sensible choice with options for every age group in the car. Fries, burgers, cold sandwiches, pastrami sandwich, chili, soup, croissants, cinnamon rolls, fresh muffins, breakfast selections, etc. The food was fresh, and the options were perfect for us to grab and go: but you can certainly have a seat and enjoy your food inside or on their cute patio. Great sandwiches and baked goods! Just make sure to search around the entire building to find the entrance as you could certainly miss it. We needed a non fast food stop after our visit to the Montezuma Castle Monument and found this through Yelp. It's definitely a local spot, super friendly service and the corn muffin is to die for. We ordered the egg salad croissant which was amazing and the tuna salad croissant which each comes with a bag of chips. All the pastry are made fresh daily at the location. The cafe location is abit ambiguous but it's located in a small part of the Main Street. Worth the stop for a healthy lunch. read more
