I'm not from the Flagstaff area, so I relied on the internet / Yelp to find a well rated butcher. I was totally impressed with this shop. Randy served us and was great. One of the things I noticed there, was when a second butcher was in the back cutting and packaging and another customer walked in, he immediately dropped what he was doing to help the customer. Maybe that's customary in the old days or little cities but I don't see that kind of customer service these days. I wanted aged Porterhouse for Valentine's Day and I wasn't disappointed by these steaks. The fillet was so tender and the strip was wonderful too. Randal's is a great butcher shop and our only regret is we waited a year or so to start buying here. We got tired of the substandard meat sold in supermarkets and the ridiculously high prices for quality cuts at Whole Foods. We usually spend most of our time on the west side of town, but we had seen the shop sign a few times and never thought to stop by. Finally we did and what a difference! What a small town feel -- which should make sense since we're in a small town! The guys are nice and friendly and know our "order" when we come in. Hands-down best quality meats in Flagstaff with the best flavors! I've tried the other fresh meat shops in town and nothing compares to Randall's quality and customer service. Some great restaurants in town buy chorizo, bacon or etc from here. You can tell instantly because the flavors are so uniquely intense and delicious. Compared to other top quality butcher shops I've found Randall's has more reasonable prices so it's a win. Their hours are difficult with standard 8-5 work schedules so we usually prioritize going on Saturdays and stocking up. Warning: if you buy meat from here you most likely won't enjoy lesser quality... I can't eat anything other than Randall's bacon now because I know what it should taste like. I prefer their standard bacon over their apple wood bacon... So good. I'm not the type to eat meat often but I can really taste quality now. My husband and I almost exclusively buy meat from Randall's with only a few exceptions, like for specialty Filipino recipes. Enjoy and support a local company that deserves attention! read more

I come here for almost all of my meats, chicken and seafood. I absolutely don't buy bacon or chorizo from anywhere else. I'm just throwing away money if I do. The only time I'll buy meat from anywhere else is because there's a sale, but I usually regret it because it's not as tasty as Randall's. I wish the hours were better because they're typically 8-5 on weekdays so I end up buying all my stuff on Saturdays. They're closed on Sundays. read more

Yet another example of why shopping local in Flagstaff is such a bad experience. Went out of my way to go into the shop (instead of just calling) to see if they carried a specialty meat product. Since they didn't carry it, I asked if they could special order it. Butcher said they won't special order because when they did in the past, the customer never came back to get it. I said I'd be happy to pay for it before they ordered it. He said he didn't know what it would cost and it would be "a waste of time" to call and get a price. ONE phone call that could result in a lifelong customer is a waste of time? How do these people stay in business? I would never give these people a dime because of that lousy attitude. There are 100 other local places to buy meat. As is my usual experience, national chains turn out to be 1000 times more helpful. Grocery store butcher ordered the item for me, no issues. I really don't know why I even still bother trying to give local Flagstaff shops my business. Guess I'm hoping to find an anomaly one of these days. read more

These guys are so friendly and helpful, and cart a great product. Comparatively it's equivalent to Whole Foods in my opinion. It's from a similar farm BUT they trim more of the fat off more for things like Chicken breast. It's personalized and they can freezer seal anything for you without additional charge. I say go local and go to Randall's. I was a little out off by the location since it's not near anywhere else I shop but honestly it's worth the extra drive. read more

Randal's is the place to go for your fine meat needs. It's priced about like the top-tier stuff from normal grocery stores, may be a touch cheaper than Whole Foods or similar, but the meat is waay (with two 'a's) better. The shop staff give you good advice about what you want, will point you in the right direction in terms of recipes, and can take on specialty orders if you give them some advance notice. Whether you need some extra good thick cut bacon, house made brats, ground beef for burgers, or a big old slab of meat for a roast, this is the place to go. read more

I love this meat market. Very high quality meat. Lupe is my favorite meat counter guy. He is very knowledgable and friendly and he always picks me out a good pot roast. I have tried the pot roast at the local big health food store, NF, and my husband did not like it. I don't know if the quality of the meat is better at Randalls or if Lupe just always picks the best one for me. They have fresh wild caught Salmon and other good fish. I like that usually there is something on sale in the fish department. I buy usually 10 chicken breasts when I am there and Lupe cheerfully splits the breast in 2 and wraps each of the 20 pieces in vacuum packed bags so I can keep them in the freezer for a couple of months. Lupe is bilingual. If you want to practice your Spanish with him, he'll talk to you in Spanish. read more
