I had to work in Flagstaff. I'm from the valley. I was suggested black barts but to get there at five I was seated by a stage since I was told that they sing so I thought it would be fun When I arrived, I had a waiter named Jackson. He is 6'20" and what a wonderful gentleman He is studying at NAU and I wish him nothing but the best He was top-notch. He suggested what I should order and everything was great. I had the deep fried mushrooms which I'm addicted to, and they hit the spot. Then I had the steak which they had a special and it was cooked to perfection Jackson has a great voice and all those kids did a fantastic job of singing I really enjoyed myself Unfortunately, this post is a little bit late cause I was there in January. I hope Jackson is still there if you go and you get seated ask for Jackson he is a pleasure and just a wonderful, wonderful man. While the location is great for tourists in an RV park, the actual dining experience was incredibly disappointing. For the price point, we expected a certain level of quality that simply wasn't met. The meal started with salads that felt like an afterthought--small portions that appeared to have been prepped hours in advance and sat in a refrigerator. Unfortunately, the entrees were worse. My bone-in ribeye was tough, flavorless, and so gristly that I ended up with more fat left on my plate than actual meat. My wife's shrimp Alfredo was equally poor; the shrimp were fishy and overcooked. She only ate a few bites, yet when the server offered a to-go box and she declined, no one asked if there was an issue with the dish. Service was non-existent after the food arrived. We were never asked how the meal was, nor were we offered refills on our cocktails or water. The server only reappeared to drop off the bill. Hidden within an RV park, Black Bart's is truly an unique experience. Tucked away , blink and you can easily miss the front door. When the lights go down the restaurant can looke a bit creepy from the outside but upon entering your are welcomed with a smile and a rustic country looking dining room that has a small stage and piano up in front. During your meal you will enjoy the team members singing songs and truly providing a memorable and fun experience. Now for the food. Me and my daughter opted for the Top Sirloin steaks that come with one side and a salad; my son had the kids steak and fries. I traded my salad in for the soup of the day which was a Lemon Chicken Noodle that was delicious. I also added the peppercorn sauce to my steak. The meal also comes with fresh baked sourdough biscuits that are wonderful. The steaks were cooked to perfection but did not have a wow factor and my peppercorn sauce was actually served on the side. I also ordered one of their signature cocktails and it was quite refreshing with every drink. All in all, the ambience and overall attentiveness of the team members made this a truly an incredible experience. Thanks to Yelp, this random fine turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I've had. From the outside, it looks a little intimidating as it's dark and rustic looking. However, the interior is very clean, well appointed with classy materials and very welcoming. The service was absolutely amazing. Even though the staff all takes, turns, singing and dancing on stage in between service, they still were very attentive and helpful. Every person that we interacted with was absolutely delightful. The food also hit the mark and then exceeded expectations! Perfectly cooked steak, delicious salmon cake appetizer, and amazing warm bread/butter. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I have not been to this place since I was young! The place is definitely not what it used to be and appears it may be struggling! I will say the singer are great which happens to be our wait staff! The old western theme has since pasted and should be brought back! The food, I cannot knock it the steaks were tasty the fried mushrooms were very good need little more salt but I cannot complain. The check came and I saw a $20 hospitality fee was added! Seriously what does this go to I hope the staff! I have seen restaurants do this because of the minimum wage increase! If this is your first visit to Flagstaff, the Black Bart's Steakhouse, Saloon, & Musical Revue has got to be one of your stops! This locally owned and operated piece of living Flagstaff history. Their unique method of broiling on oak gives everything they do with corn-fed beef an incredible taste and aroma. They also have a huge assortment of dishes to choose from. From Filet Mignon Oscar, New York Strip to Sirloin, from Salmon, Shrimp to Lobster, and Ribs. The sides are abundant and terrific too! And by the way, they concoct some excellent beverages and cocktails. On our visit while enjoying their rambunctious, rowdy and well performed entertaining stage show we also enjoyed a great meal. We started off with my Wife's glass of Wildhorse Cabernet and my bottle Kiltlifter and the combo appetizer consisting of a scrumptious rendition of very well-prepared fried zucchini and fried mushrooms - just the right amount of batter for both. For our mains, my better half went for the 6oz Medium Filet Mignon with terrific, sautéed mushrooms and sweet potato fries. I went for the 8oz Medium Rare Prime Rib with some of the best steak fries I've had. In both cases, the steaks were as perfect as can be. Juicy, tender, sizzling on arrival with an incredible oak fire aroma that's hard to describe. As for the entertainment, their review is entertaining and distinctive - not the cheeky stuff many tourist traps force on you. The place is reminiscent of a huge barn, with customary western-style paraphernalia and furnishings, along with antiques dating back to the good old days. Everything including the swinging saloon doors, the old Post Office setup to their beverage servings in handled mason jars. Like I mentioned, this is must experience when in Flagstaff. Kudos to the staff, servers, entertainers, cooks and management for a job extremely well done. We will be back, along with some friends and family. read more

Dinner with songs! All the times I've stayed across the road, I'm totally regretting not taking the 5 mins to cross the road and eat here. Wow great food and live pianist with accompanying staff taking turns singing solo or as a company. If that wasn't impressive enough, we had no idea what this place was, John our wonderfully handlebar mustached, exceptional server with the greatest personality;took our order, answered questions and within 10 seconds of saying "great I'll put you're order in" we blinked and he was on stage singing. I'm like, is that John our server? How'd he get up there singing in 10 seconds? To which we then thought great, the order will be delayed. But NOPE! As soon as John finished singing and got a huge applause, he rushed to our table with drinks. Throughout the evening, all the staff got up on stage taking turns signing and serving. The incredible thing is, nothing seemed delayed and the great food was piping hot. This restaurant has really worked hard at collaboration, speed, great service, performing and everyone we interacted with had great personalities and helpful. Kudos for also keeping up with cleaning away empty plates and also asking before interrupting or moving plates. The overall experience was amazing!! Yes it's located at an RV Park but I would come back again! The business is set up like the old western saloon. It was a very clean establishment and the service was excellent. Our server was a taller gentleman and he knew a lot about how to treat a guest. I ordered the hot-bleu New York Strip! Have you ever wondered what it would be like to bite into a live cow? Well at black barts all your stakes will be just slightly seared leaving you the wonderful flavor of raw beef with a burnt Grey crust. All while your servers sing to Disney songs. We order two of the most expensive steaks,mine being a porterhouse at $70 I ordered my steak just slightly under medium rare my friend ordered his medium. His steak came out rare mine was so blue u couldn't even bite through the fat. I then had to ask for another steak correctly cooked. My server was great brought my 2nd steak. ( see photo's) it was well done on the filet side and still completely blue. I asked the server what the deal was and he blamed it on the fact that they cut the steaks in house. To me that should mean you have more control over quality. I think they focus more on the servers singing then the quality of the food. Wonderful experience today at Black Bart's! Our neighbors in Tennessee visited in the early aughts and to be honest, it didn't sound real. Live music performed by the waiters and other staff, dancing between meals, service and song? Well, they were right! We were greeted promptly today, seated quickly, and were able to immediately enjoy one of the shows. Our waiter, John, did an excellent job balancing service, requests, and fantastic on-stage performance. All the other serving staff were doing similarly well, and managing quite a large party (20-25) among several other tables. We tried the Drinking Horn Prickly Pear Mead, a brew local to Flagstaff that we found to be excellent, without any added acidity over the sweetness I usually expect from mead. Our food was also excellent--my spouse devoured his ribeye and asparagus (both of which he called truly delicious, and he doesn't mince words). Steak was served just right at medium rare, and I really enjoyed my fettuccine Alfredo. Portions are generous--side salad and sourdough/cinnamon honey butter biscuits in addition to a large plate of food. Ambience is casual, and price is higher ($25-40/plate, going higher for steaks) but worth everything that you get. We also got a dessert for our anniversary (fried ice cream) and it was presented with candle and song, really quite good service and excellent ice cream! Finally, one cannot forget the show itself. It runs quite consistently, though of course there are some 5-10 min breaks, but I found the music to be consistent, well-balanced, not too loud or quiet, just right. There is quite an assortment of songs, but there is definitely something for everyone (I am typically no musical enjoyer but had a great time). Highly recommend this place if you are in the area, or perhaps fueling up for some skiing or a visit to the Grand Canyon...? It is well worth your time, money, and energy. read more

If you order a steak, consider the suggestion box (on the menu) where it is explained how your steak will be presented. Rare is "warm". (just beyond moo'ing). Medium rare is "RED". Medium is "Pink with a little RED". Medium well is "Pink", (my order). Well done is .... forbidden! We also found the singing wait-staff very entertaining. We really didn't know what to expect going in. Cowboy Saloon themed steakhouse at a trailer park?! I mean you could go so many ways with this. We expected it to be really busy on a Saturday night so we made a reservation. Now granted it was not peak tourist season but still. Anyways we showed up and it was empty. There were maybe five other tables full. So no resy needed in off-season. The waiter was nice, friendly and answered our questions. We both got steaks and different sides so we could try out more options. Overall the food was solid not amazing. What you're going for is the ambiance and the music. I had low expectations going in so I wasn't expecting much but it didn't really jive with the my expectations. They waiters would randomly hit the stage and sing show tunes. As in Broadway show tunes for literally ANY show. So it was jarring being in this country western saloon and then hearing songs from Cabaret, Funny Girl, Guys and Dolls, Rent and more. Don't get me wrong the majority of the servers are exceptionally talented singers but it felt more like the local theater camp was booted from their rental and the only place crazy enough to rent to them was some old ass saloon. So if love show tunes, that feel like they're being sung by theatre kids who never quite made it, are paying their way through college, make a decent steak and sides then this place is for you! Love this rustic venue and the entertainment. It means you have to allow time for service delays as your server has to rush to the stage at random times. As a former theatre arts major, I love the old show tunes! The food was very good. My husband and I split a large ribeye, with a twice baked potato and salads. I ordered an extra salad cuz, vegetables! And I appreciate cold, crisp lettuce. The steak was delicious and cooked perfectly. Oh, and specialty cocktails, and local Meads. This place is definitely old school. You would never know it's a steakhouse from the outside. Inside is a large hall with a stage for the wait staff to sing. I have to admit the singing was a bit annoying while trying to enjoy dinner but they tried their best. The food was delicious though. They have a complimentary sourdough bread that is so good. I had the fettuccine alfredo and my mom had a steak. Both dishes were great and while the wait staff wasn't singing they were very attentive. Heard good things about this place. Smelled amazing as we walked in. They do have good cuts of beef. However, if you do not like any flavor, this might be the place. They use no seasonings, they put banana peppers in their Caesar salad, some funky, tropical, flavored iced tea. It was thin and poor quality especially for the $55 price tag. Not much of a bone either which contributes to a better flavor normally. The salad was not a typical Caesar but was enjoyed. The music and entertainment was awesome! They don't have to do it, but I was enthralled watching the servers go up there and sing together or separate! The food was delicious! I ate at the bar. Service was friendly and good. Ordered a New York strip, medium rare plus, with roasted potatoes with a side salad. From all the reviews I expected a very nice steak to come out properly cooked. Unfortunately, what came out wasn't what one would expect when paying $46. First of all, it was a very thin and relatively small cut at 5/8-3/4" thick. Second, it came out very rare. The server was very apologetic and took it back instantly. A few minutes later they brought out a steak cooked to the right temperature. However, the meat was very tough. The kind of tough where you have to cut the steak thin to make sure you can eat it. For the price, I would have expected a much better cut of beef. It definitely wasn't prime and I would be surprised if it was even a choice cut. So, after all the great reviews for this place, I was very disappointed. In the end, I would have been much better off eating at the restaurant at my hotel. read more

Was really looking forward to this place as many family members and friends had said it's a fun place to visit in Flagstaff. Entertainment is provided by the wait staff and was surprisingly good. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for my meal. One should note: Eating here does require some patience as the entertainment takes place during the dinner service. I ordered the Ribeye steak, med rare at $55 dollars. Entrée took 30min+ to be delivered probably due to the entertainment, but fun so far. Steak finally arrives, but presentation is way off. Just meat on a white plate with a potato. Steak was small in size, over cooked, served cold and very dry. I was hungry, so I ate some of the thing along with 1/2 of the potato. Upon Informing our waiter of my disappointment they knocked $11 bucks off our bill. I will never return and will tell all friends and family to avoid this disappointing restaurant. read more

Came into this place after driving from Bryce Canyon because of the reviews. They forgot our freaking food! We were sitting for hours our server came once to take our drinks order then our regular order then left us sitting there for over an hour unattended. People around us that got there after us got their food and we were still sitting there with no food. I wish we could have enjoyed this place with our family but this was just a shitty experience. It's painful enough to pay as much for a kid's entree to our outrageous government in taxes but then to have management tell me I need to tip on the tax in addition to the food and beverage service....Uh, NO!! My husband and I stumbled upon this place as a happy accident (thinking it was a different place that my husband went to as a child), anywho....what an absolute pleasant surprise. I am not going to lie... walking in it is not exactly my vibe and I contemplated leaving but so glad we didn't. We had Randon who was PHENOMENAL. He is a total asset to the restaurant, great personality and voice. Another server was an incredible singer that made me feel like I was at a musical mixed with the opera. The pianist was also incredible and tried to find my husband and I's wedding song (which she couldn't find but I appreciated the effort). 10/10 for experience. On to the food... we ordered the mushrooms and zucchini and it was delicious. We went to Black Barts last night. The road into the restaurant was full of lots of pot holes and only partly paved. The building itself was a little run down inside and out. The food was some of the worst I've had for a steakhouse. The steaks were extremely thin and overcooked, and oddly lavished in garlic. The biscuits were tasteless. The soup was ok, as was the salad. We decided to cut our losses and skip dessert. The only redeeming quality was the staff, who both serve and sing. Stacy, our waitress, was great! We arrived at the opening of the restaurant and did not have reservations.. they accommodated our party and we met our waiter as he went onstage to perform... each and every staff member joined on stage to thrill us with tunes from broadway musicals, and Disney songs. We tried Mead for the first time, and the homemade biscuits were delicious. The Friday night social was a bone in ribeye and it came with a salad and side. Portions were generous. The entertainment distracted me from taking pictures and we ended with the fried ice cream.
