I was so excited to see new shops and boutiques had opened up and was very impressed with Simply Marcella. Simply Marcella is the ultimate girly girl boutique, right down to the fact that they have a liquor license so you can drink wine while you shop. There are also a few things for the men as well, but most (as my husband did) would probably prefer to sit in the comfy chairs in the center of the store while us ladies do our thang. There was a lot to look at from wines to purses to clothes and jewelry. What immediately caught my eye was their selection of black pearls. The owner's sister was quick to help me and very knowledgeable about the pieces. She was super friendly and great to talk to. In the end, it was love at first sight with a simple black pearl necklace. My husband then became very helpful and got off the couch! I really hope to see downtown LO grow some more and will tell everyone that it's great to shop local, especially in stores as unique as Simply Marcella.

A walk down memory lane for items I had as a kid. Saw a ton of Hummel figurines, was and is a family heirloom. I bought the girl and boy figurine as well as the boy and girl under the umbrella. Their goal is to support other local small businesses by stocking their products. They display local artists works on the walls for sale as well. I try to make a point of stopping by at least once a week because there is always something new in the store. They are constantly rearranging displays and making room for new stock so you'll always find new things. If they don't have the book in stock, they are happy to try to order it for you. Some friends of ours recommended Albers after we had some difficulty with another carpenter our fireplace rep had recommended. Albers came to our home for a complimentary consultation. I spent perhaps 15 minutes with him & provided a sketch, description, & inspiration photos. He took some measurements, went over stain and door options and was off! Easy breezy compared to other (numerous) custom consultation I had to endure. The cabinets were done earlier than expected. The installation was today and I was nervous as I am admittedly a bit Type A & wasn't sure if they would make them the way I envisioned. Well, let me tell you they are everything I had wanted and more! The cabinets are beautiful! Excellent craftsmanship, extras we hadn't expected (like colored light options!), and the installer went above and beyond. Albers is a family owned business and everyone we dealt with was unbelievably nice and down-to-earth. If you are looking for custom cabinetry of any kind, including kitchen, bar, etc. give them a try, I guarantee you will be so very glad you did!
