FRI-YAY FIELD REPORT: Alright you beautiful chaos goblins, it's Friday night and I found myself back at Randi's. You know the place, strip mall chic, nothing fancy, the kind of spot where you show up in whatever you wore to Target and nobody blinks. I've been here before, and honestly the experience has always been a bit of a roulette wheel: sometimes great, sometimes just ....meh. Tonight? Buckle up First, the service. I'm not asking for Broadway jazz hands and a standing ovation when I walk in, but a hint of pleasantness would be nice. My server looked like smiling might actually cause structural damage to her face. Honey, that scowl was so deep it came with its own zip code. Those cause wrinkles, sweetie. Just saying. While I waited (and waited... and waited...) I was treated to a lovely soundtrack of staff conversations about doom, gloom, and existential dread. Babe... I'm just trying to order carbs, not prepare for the apocalypse It was not exactly the light Friday night vibe I was going for while trying to order a drink. BTW It took a solid stretch of time just to get that drink and put in an order. I kept checking my watch like I was waiting for a delayed flight. Eventually, we got the drink and the order placed. The food shows up and let's give the kitchen the applause it deserves because the food crew clearly came to work tonight. Actually good. Not "call the Vatican we've witnessed a miracle" good, but solid. The antipasto salad was fresh and yes they included peppers, which I appreciate because some places act like peppers are a controlled substance. And the calzone? The bread was homemade. And listen... when you bite into bread that clearly came from a real human effort and not a Sysco freezer tomb, you notice. It was warm, chewy, and legitimately good. So now I'm emotionally conflicted. The kitchen is back there doing honest Italian-food work while the front of house is acting like they're being forced to serve pasta at emotional gunpoint. The Breakdown: Calzone bread: Homemade, heroic, deserves a medal Antipasto: Fresh, crunchy, pepper-inclusive (we love representation) Food overall: Solidly good Service: If enthusiasm were calories this would be a diet plate Randi's, my chaotic carb dealer, I will probably return because that bread had my attention. Mom and pop vibe and pizza was great. We got the cheesy garlic bread which was yummy. I was skeptical to get more cheese on bread since we were ordering a pizza but the group was ready to devour anything. It definitely did not disappoint. House wine Chianti comes in different sizes. Price is great - but the quality is that next day head ache quality. We didn't end up finishing our wine since the price was so good anyways. Service was mostly fine, but it is younger kids working and they are quick to come by and leave. Catch them when you can and they will deliver! It's located in a strip mall so parking is interesting with the nearby King Soopers. Family friendly in the fact they had high chairs, but no changing tables in the bathroom. read more

We have loved their pizza for many years...until now because their service has plummeted. Twice in a row the waitress says our pizza was given to someone else. Really? How does that happen twice in a row a different wait staff. Both times new waitresses, at least be honest. This time she spent more time chatting. Good, old school red sauce Italian joint. We dine in often. Love their Super Sausage Pie calzones. You get two meals for the price of one because you will have enough for lunch the next day. I also like getting a takeout large pizza there for when we host Broncos games. They also have more traditional rigatoni, spaghetti, and baked dishes. Family place, been around for decades. Long-time Randi's fans here. Ordered a pizza yesterday, but it was not up to Randi's standards, IMO. Wondering if they changed their recipe? Sauce was sugary-sweet and very salty. I have been going to Randi's for the last 20 plus years. Ordered a pizza for pick up last night and it was probably the worst pizza I've had in a long time. The crust was tasteless and very thin, hardly any sauce. The best thing was the pepperoni. Don't know who is running the place but the quality isn't what it used to be. read more

Randi's continues to be a bright spot in the old school Italian Denver metro dining scene for pizza. The crust is inline with what you'll find at Pietra's and Carl's which grew up in Denver during the same era back in the day. I love this place. It isn't the best pizza crust but I am hooked. The sausage, generosity of toppings, and the service are solid. God bless strip mall restaurants. On a side note, they do not charge a fee for credit cards. One reviewer mentioned at one time that they did. That is not that case now thankfully. I imagine that their customer base would not have much patience for that. read more

Had the pizza buffet, we had a dozen people, so the pizza chef made all new fresh pizza's. I was pleasantly surprised, everything was pretty incredible, and the beer was cold! Probably a good thing I don't live closer. read more

The family wanted to go out for Italian and the restaurant we had in mind was closed, so we did some searching and Randi's Pizza & Italian Restaurant received good reviews so we decided to give them a shot. Upon entering we were greeted by the very nice Sam, she was also our waitress for the evening. We immediately liked the fact that this place was family run and not a chain restaurant. We looked over the menu and everything sounded really good. We decided on: Appetizers: - Garlic Bread - Fried Raviolis Dinner - Half & Half Pasta - Stromboli - Buttered Noodles All the food was great, it was seasoned perfectly and had a great presentation. The portions were rather large, we needed 3 take out boxes. The food was great, the atmosphere was great and Sam the waitress was awesome. If I dare to compare, I would say this place ROCKS over 3 Sons Italian up the street. I live in the area and have eaten at both more than once. The quality, service and pricing are far superior at Randi's. While 3 Sons is more fine dining you will pay the price for the more upscale atmosphere. I have brought family and friends to Randi's for years and can truly say, I've never had a bad meal. I ordered the fried ravioli last evening for an appetizer to go. It was ready in minutes, was stuffed full of delicious goodness and only $8.00 for a pile of them! Hot and delicious even for "to go". Yes, ordered the same from 3 Sons and they paled in comparison. Empty, overcooked and definitely overpriced. Enough about comparing. Bottom line is, if you want quality, reasonably priced awesome Italian food, with above average service, head to Randi's. A major disappointment! I ordered the Randi Special--ravioli and spaghetti with meat ball and sausage. The pile of thick noodle spaghetti was unpleasantly well past "al dente"and the marinara sauce reminded me of school cafeteria lunches. The ravioli was boringly bland as was the meatball which also had a homogeneous texture that seemed like it may have been made in a blender. The sausage--I'm assuming it was homemade--was better, both in flavor and texture, but only just. This meal was accompanied by a small order of cold, rather doughy bread and a meager iceberg lettuce salad. All in all, I rate this meal as a poor value at $19. read more

Randi's pizza is delicious and a west Arvada staple. We love their cheese pizza with added jalapeños and their ravioli appetizer. Randi's pizza has always been one of my favorites! The whole team smiles and seem like they have the flow for service figured out. The food has been the same (in the best way), my whole life. The restaurant has had some upgrades in the last several years and is looking refreshed. We've been coming here since I was a kid but I've never given them a review. Such unique dough they have and hennyyy I love me some dough. The sausage cannoli is amazing, the cheese garlic bread is fantastic, the pizza is excellent, I even find their salad to be above other restaurants. Randis pizza has been around FOREVER! I'm not exactly sure how long but I graduated from AWest in 98 and remember them being around back then. They've got good pizza, they use the smaller pepperoni, which are my favorite because when they cook they make little cups of greasy pepperoni goodness! Their garlic bread (with or without cheese) is fantastic and has the perfect mix of butter and garlic, if you dip it in balsamic or Alfredo sauce it takes it up a couple notches! They have the BEST ranch dressing and if I could order a gallon of it I would! I'm not a fan of their spaghetti sauce, I feel it lacks spices and is pretty watered down, I like my spaghetti sauce with more of an Italian spice flavor (oregano, basil, garlic) and a little thicker. I like it to stick to my noodles and I don't get that at Randis. Their meatballs also have to many breadcrumbs in the mix which takes the flavor down a bit but they Italian sausage is MIND BLOWING! They are quite pricey as well which causes me to eat here less frequently, for example we ordered a large pepperoni pizza, 2 orders of garlic bread, a side of Alfredo and a side of ranch and it was close to $55 without tip. read more

I've been really trying with this place. I want to support them and have tried not to leave bad reviews during the pandemic. Tonight however was enough to drive me over.... This pizza looks about as mediocre as it taste. Just not trying at all or they don't know how to make a pizza, but charge a lot for it. The dinner salad is pretty under-standard. My goodness....
