Since there are no Randy's Donuts locations in Orange County, we make it a point to pull up here whenever we are craving such delights. Parking can be found easily in their small lot, depending when you come through, but there is also street parking. Drive-thru here is a plus too. What do we like? The Nutella Raised, White Ganache Raised w/ Chocolate, Red Velvet Cake w/Ganache, and the Mint Raised. So fresh and delicious, pretty much every time we have ordered any of these from the Premium category. Then our second choices would be Blueberry Cake, Glazed Twist, Maple Long John and Cherry Iced Cake, from both the Classic and Deluxe categories. Is it worth a dozen? For us sometimes, but you really have to be craving that many or have folks to share with. One thing I can say, is to me, these donuts have a 2-3 day shelf life after the initial buy (just pop them in the micro for some seconds), so that is key when buying a dozen for just 2 people. It's a standard donut place. Outside of the landmark on top of the building, it's average. I'm partial to Krispy Kreme glazed donuts warm off the conveyor belt so if that's not your thing I would understand. We went in around 7pm Saturday evening, they had their AC on so it was a bit cold for us to stay so we brought a few and left. Can't say the atmosphere was comfortable. read more

This has been my go to donut shop ever since I found out about them... earlier this year and let me tell you... they're delicious! My favorites are: sugar krondy(like a cronut covered in powdered sugar), butter crumb is outstanding! The chocolate butter crumb was equally outstanding (but they took it off the menu!!??!!) My aunt has gotten a few donuts with icing and they have been way too sweet. Apple fritter is HUGE! totally worth it! Share it.. or don't, but definitely try it! My first timing trying Randy's donuts yesterday and I am so happy that I did. Drive thru is open and with little wait. The menu is extensive (I never knew that there could be so many groupings of donuts lol). We got the maple raised, sugar raised, chocolate cake, blueberry cake donuts. I really wanted to try the matcha donut but it was sold out. We will have to come back to try it! Great, patient service here - especially considering it took me a while to figure out which donut I wanted lol! The actual donut is one of the best I've had. Super quick and fast. Order two donuts and a caramel frappe. Fire stone can get really busy at times so making that left turn into the side parking lot can be tough at times. My buttermilk bar was super dry and hard to chew. I am mediately sent it back and asked for another one. I heard another young girl in there say well they're all like that. Gotta try the classics, right? Well, I've tried every doughnut on the menu, and these are my favorites in order: Nutella, Raised Glazed, Plain blueberry Lemon Old Fashioned And Honey Oat. I don't think there are any that I actively dislike, which is certainly something. I think it's pretty funny when you see a plain glazed, a texas raised, and one of those custom birthday donuts done plain. I wish that they would offer a blueberry cake doughnut iced with the lemon frosting, because that would be BOMB. But until then, I'd recommend getting both so that you can take a bite of each together.. You will see what I mean and thank me later. read more

After a nice savory meal I wanted some sweets! Where else would be better than the hyped "RANDYS DONUTS"!! Well spoiler alert I left a-little underwhelmed. Let me start by saying I went through the drive through and everything that could have went wrong did. The menu is a tv and inconveniently went out so I couldn't look through the menu. I had to wait about 5 mins in the drive through. Then when it finally came on I wanted the s'mores and matcha donut and the lady taking my order gave a lot of attitude and said they don't have those and they didn't have many donuts left!! If your open 24/7 I would hope u wouldn't run out of your main items. Besides that in getting the donuts I was let down as they were just AVERAGE donuts! Nothing special. Honestly the random donut shops near u are better!! The blueberry was whatever, glazed and chocolate barley average! But I have to give them credit the Nutella was bomb! A perfect silky tasty donut complete with that Nutella taste. Finally! Something better than Dunkin Donuts! I remember seeing the crazy lines driving past the new Downey location and decided to wait until the craziness died down. The young man who assisted me was excellent and suggested some of their more popular items. Love: The fresh doughy texture is wonderful! I went a little crazy and ordered waaay too many donuts my first time visiting. The raised donuts stayed chewy for a few days. Donuts from other shops start to get stale after so many hours, these didn't. The frosting did harden, but I was happy that I could still enjoy the donuts after 24 hours. My faves are their, raised Sprinkle, Nutella and their Chocolate Ganache. YUUUUMMMM!! I ordered two Nutella donuts, one for me and one for a friend,...I ate mine and ended up eating my friend's too. Lol! I don't even regret it. Cons: The only thing I thought was a negative was how much I spent on donuts...over $30 and that was with a discount. Ouch! Granted, the donuts here are bigger than most places and their raised donuts stay chewy longer than most places. I didn't realize I was buying all premium donuts either. OH... the hate-love relationship. Sometimes Randy's donut is so good, the sweet warm Texas Glazed Donut. Omgee. *Salivate* But then it's a hit and miss. Felt like the aftertaste is of too much oil. I finally went down to Randy's donuts and it was worth the trip!!! Jacob helped my friend and I, he was charming and gave us great suggestions. The place was very clean, all the employees were smiling, even tho we were there in the evening and we were not there for too long, it was busy. They have their own parking lot and even a drive thru. We also got hot chocolate with whip cream and it was just PERFECT!!!! (They use Ghirardelli chocolate). I have never been to the original Randy's even though I used to work close to it. It was always so crowded and difficult to find parking every time I went. My dad would always brag about it but never brought me any:-( I'm so glad Randy's is now in Downey because I finally get to taste them. It was a little crowded when I went which was around 1pm. I snagged the last spot in the lot. There is also parking on the side street. The line inside went pretty quickly which was convenient. I ordered a dozen for the family. They did not disappoint. I had the maple bacon and boy oh boy it was so good. Tons of crunchy bacon bits underneath all that mapley goodness. So I am a donut-holic, I love all things donuts. so when I heard that they had opened up a Randy's donuts close to my house I was beyond excited. Unfortunately that excitement quickly faded. The donuts weren't fresh, they have a very bland taste very doughy and they just weren't good. I was so incredibly disappointed. I've had Randy's donuts in Inglewood and I'll continue to go to that location unfortunately I can't say the same for the Downy spot. Honestly, I like the donuts I think they are decent. The raised glazed is good, the chocolate raised is just ok- they are scarce with the chocolate. I have gone to the Downey location numerous times & I have decided that I will not be going anymore. Honestly everything comes down to customer service- each time the employees give ghetto, low education, lack basic manners and give lazy vibes. This is no directed at anyone that works there, it's just that the overall vibe, it doesn't give. -They are out of a lot of items of the menu most of the times -The staff does not wear hair nets or gloves when handling the food -The coffee taste old -The donut trays are out in open air on racks, without any plastic covering!! -There was a man talking to the staff from outside of the drive thru window- he was literally standing outside of the window chatting with staff inside Just ghetto I am sorry. Invest more time and resources into training the staff to be professional, pleasant & follow a "Starbucks" model which makes customers feel "good". Invest time, training & resources into management! Get an efficient, prepared, kind supervisor that would easily solve all of the issues above. Who trains these workers? I've been in a few times since they opened up near me. It just took a few visits to process/ digest what I truly think of Randy's. I typically go to the same small family owned donut shop and find them to be consistent. But, after trying Randy's various times now they seem to be legit. The dough itself just seems to be a little softer/more fresh(and tastier) than what I'm use to and I've been to my go-to donut shop serval times when they are bringing out a fresh batch and Randy's still wins. I tried the original down to a few speciality donuts and I was very satisfied each time I tried a new donut combination. The line has still been a bit hectic since they are still surrounded by a lot of hype, but they are living up to it pretty well. I want to try the french toast donut but I just cant seem to get up and out the door in time. I'll make that donut mine soon enough. read more
