I only gave it a 1 Star and that is for the salad. Chicken was dry and over fried, JoJo's were not fully cooked plus cold. Very over priced for the quality and taste !!!! There website had one price and charged different when picked up! They said it was not updated and apparently not there problem. read more

Huge downward slide under current ownership. We ordered a pizza for eat in. Specifically requested it to be cooked well done with brown cheese and crisp crust. It came out with greasy, yellow cheese and sloppy, soggy crust. I complained to the waitress and she said, "I told them well done". Yet she still brought out this sloppy mess. We have never been back & never will. Terrible customer service as if they just don't care!! read more

Been coming here for 64 years or since they opened. I live at Mille Lacs now, but still eat here when I come to town. Best pizza burger ever yesterday. Fries still cut in house. Asked if they changed the crust on their pizzas. My friend had a pizza yesterday. Worst crust ever. Very very thin and like cardboard. Not crispy. Took two home. Baked one today. Crust never did get done. doughy and bad. Hope they go back to a different crust as this is not a winner. Too bad after 64 years. Hopeful it will change as other food is delicious. read more

I've been going to Village Pizza since my parents started bringing me there when I was a baby. 54 years later I still go there. I need to drive 24 miles to get there, and I've loved it for all these years. Unfortunately the new owner has decided cut back on quality while at the same time, raise prices. I know everybody is raising their prices. It is what it is, but to cut back on the toppings and cheese to the point where it seems like I'm paying $24 for a Jacks pizza, that's where I got to say something. For half a century there was no way you would get a square a pizza that didn't have a bunch a sausage and pepperoni on it. My latest pizza, there are many squares devoid of any toppings at all. And to top it off, the pizza was way undercooked. Crust was still raw. Compare my pic to older pics. You'll see. Message to new owner -- Most people will understand and accept price increases, but don't mess with how the pizzas have been made for the past 60 years. The quickest way to bankruptcy is changing what has been successful. Oh yeah, and stop decreasing the sizes of the regular and double orders of fries. read more

Went to pick up my pizza, and found out that they wanted to charge a surcharge for using my credit card. I told them that they did not list it on the web page, so they can not charge me for it. I had a big argument in front of the customers. I informed them that they can only sell a product for what people are willing to pay, and that I was not willing to pay for the addition credit card surcharge. I also said that they can remove the surcharge or keep the pizza, which would of resulted in them not getting $22 from me. They decided to take the lose. I have not been back since, nor will I ever be returning. If I could give them a negative rating I would. Terrible business owners. read more

This was a fav pizza place when I was younger but as an adult, I can no longer eat dairy. When I asked for no cheese they explained that the pizza wouldn't cook properly and would burn. I now have two other pizza places that can accommodate my request. read more

I lived in N. St. Paul for over 20 years. Kids went through Kindergarten to High School, so grew up on the Village goodies. Have lived in Stillwater for the past 20+ and still make the trek back to the Village for their Pizza. It has come thru several owners and when "Jeffrey" took over, the local clientele wanted to make sure the recipe for the dough and sauce remained. IT HAS!! Excellant pizza with lots of cheese. We always have their "Special" with extra sauce. I've personally seen other pizza's with a lot thinner crust, to me its just right, and will easily hold 3 toppings. Don't have any complaints on the service, but being a regular may help. I know they have had a hard time with help, just like most restaurants these days. Broasted Chicken, burgers, fries are also very good. Just sayin. read more

Very disappointed with our last delivery. Forgot half of it, cost a small fortune. Person that took the order missed several things. Person that "fixed" The order was unhelpful and unwilling to make right the mistakes. Completed the order (much later) and charged extra for the things that were missed. $75 for a salad. Two burgers. Best pizza in NSP, waitress and staff are all so friendly and truly makes you feel like you are at home and in a small town. The pizza is excellent and the homemade fries are the beat around! We have also had their burgers and they are very good and portions are perfect size! read more

Definitely the best place to get pizza in the North St. Paul area. The pizza is quite good, with lots of toppings and TONS of cheese. It's definitely not corporate pizza -- which is a good thing. You should also try their french fries. I'm not sure what they do to them that makes them so addicitive, but they're amazing. I've been eating here since the 1970s, and have never had a bad experience. For years, anytime I'd eat in, I'd order the pizzaburger and fries. Like a box of CrackerJacks, I always looked forward to gthe prize in the sausage meat - regulars will know what I mean - Their pizza rivals ANY of the pizza that folks say is the best around. There are many pizza places near by. Pick a different one. We live a block away and have ordered three times in 7 years. The first time we were the only ones in the restaurant and they got our order wrong twice. The second time we ordered pick up and it was good pizza. The third time the order was wrong again and really dry. At that point 1/3 is a failing grade and we figured we would order from a place more consistent. read more

Another NSP place I used to frequent long ago. Being a rainy cold evening it was not busy. Two booths of customers and me. I was quickly asked for a beverage order. I ordered that and the small special. I should know better then to order a 5 item pizza on a Minnesota style thin crust. The crust is very good, but it just does not handle that many toppings well. The pizza was very good. Nice large pieces of Sausage. The pepperoni was a bit thin to me. The mushrooms need to be replaced. I don't know why decent pizza places mostly use the slimy, canned mushrooms. Many years ago after waiting 2 - 3 hours for a pizza delivery, we opened the pizza box and to me it looked terrible. I could not eat it and went to bed hungry. My roommates were asking me what was wrong. Told them that pizza is sick looking. I think it is the slimy mushrooms. They agreed, but did not deter them from eating the pizza. It took me many years to over come my aversion to canned mushrooms. I finally did if I was making a hot dish or something. But not on pizza. If they weren't fresh they did not go on a pizza that I was going to eat. I eventually over came that aversion too. I think I will go back to fresh or no mushrooms. The sauce has just enough zip to know it is there. And the cheese. Yes, plenty of cheese to cover the toppings. The pizza is a bit sloppy to eat though. I went through 3 napkins. Not a pizza you want to share with a first date. Hard to eat neatly and elegantly. You sure do not want to lose out on a second date because of sloppy eating habits. Which cannot be avoided sometimes. As others have pointed out, Village Pizza has been around a long time. I was probably knee high to a grass hopper when it first opened. I didn't realize they delivered all this time though. If dad was sleeping, we'd steal his car and checkbook for Pizza night !!!! Service was quick and friendly. Price is comparable to other thin crust pizza places. Twenty dollars and change for pizza, beverage, tax and tip. I'll let you decide if that is fair pricing. Pics later if interested. read more

I went in there on a Friday which tends to be the busiest. I heard a cook was cussing like a truck driver and yelling at his staff. The waitress on the phone, one of the older women who work there, was speaking harshly to a customer telling them no refunds or discounts for late deliveries. It took them 15 minutes for them to get me a napkin and clean silverware. My fork and knife had food spots and water spots. My food took 50 minutes to arrive and all I ordered was a salad and a small pizza. The pizza was soggy and the staff were unfriendly and didn't look look like they knew what they were doing. They were far too understaffed for such a busy time. What happened to the other owners? The new owners leave little to be desired. read more

We have lived in N. ST Paul for around 9 years now. Last night was the first time that we have had Village Pizza on a suggestion from a friend. It was AWESOME! The price is right, the food was good. We had a Pepperoni and Village Special. Both were very good. They will get our business in the future. Delivery isn't the fastest, but it is worth the extra 15 minute wait. read more

Like their food pretty well other than the so called "salad". The issue is with the staff and customer service. Called to order spaghetti dinners to go and the younger guy who answered was rude and had no knowledge of the menu. Never even gave a thank you with the order. He never asked what type of dressing we wanted for our salads that came with the dinner and I had to bring that up at pick up. The salad was basically a bowl of lettuce. No tomato, no croutons, no cucumber, nothing else but iceberg lettuce. I think you can get extra bread instead of salad and I would highly recommend this. Best pizza in North St. Paul. There are some other pizza joints very close to this location but this one takes the cake on the pizza. The restaurant is your typical mom and pop shop with no bar or anything. We typically take it to go. They also have good fries! read more

One of the BEST pizza's in the area , no skimping on the toppings and a meal that is great. Their french fries are great also and large portion served . Pizza burger or their hamburger plates also make a good meal . just soft drinks served but in a never empty glass . read more

Village Pizza is a NSP legend! I think that they have some of the best pizza in the Twin Cities, and they have a lot of other great food on the menu as well (gotta try the homemade fries). This place ROCKS! Our first time, we got a pepperoni and 'shroom pizza that was excellent - from the sauce to the mound of cheese on top...very yummy. Our second visit we had the Village burger, which is good beef topped with cheese, bacon, mushrooms, lettuce and tomato. OMG it was good. Plus they have really delicious french fries! Went with my family who came up from Phoenix Sept 15, 2017. Everyone looked forward to the "garbage" pizza. It was such a disappointment!! Not much larger than a pepperoni or sausage pizza. No longer "loaded" with toppings. Found out a new owner changed the recipe. Go to Pizza Factory in North Saint Paul......the "garbage" is like Village's used to be. SO SAD. read more

Our pizza was ordered at 5:40. When it didn't arrive by 7:20,(giving the leeway for a busy night) I called to check the status, after verifying the order, was told it went out 10min before the call. We waited 20 more minutes, then called again. I was told I'd be given no discount, the driver was knocking on our door for 20min. I explained we never left our home, I would like a manager. I was answered with argumentative staff that told me there was no manager, they would not give me his name. I called back in 5min and a manager was miraculously now on site, he proceded to call me a lier . I have never experienced such poor customer service, I will no longer be ordering from here and do not recommend it. read more

They have the best Italian sausage pizza I have had anywhere for years. Excellent sauce, homemade sausage, lots of cheese and a good crust. Village is my "go to" place when I am craving a single topping pizza. This is a great spot to eat if you are going to the summer car shows on Fridays-stuff yourself on pizza and spend a few hours walking around looking at the cars. Just get here early or you will be in for a wait. UPDATE FOR FORMER 5 STAR RATING: 7-25-14 I arrived at 5:30 and ordered a small pizza and a pop. The pop came immediately, the pizza.....that's another story. I usually eat here once a week in the summer, and the wait time for a pizza is 20-25 minutes. After waiting 35 minutes, my waitress who was cleaning empty tables around me decided to check with me. She stated my pizza would be out in 3 minutes. I told her I didn't want to wait much longer, as I had friends at the car show waiting for me. What really bothered me was the fact that I observed 4 other people who came in 20 minutes after I did, get served pizza. After 40 minutes of waiting, the waitress offered to box up my non- existent pizza. I'm curious, how can you "box up" something that isn't there? is there some sort of magic here that i'm missing? I declined as I had a car in the show and friends patiently waiting for me outside. Did I want to navigate the crowds on the sidewalk and the street while attempting to eat and carry a box of pizza around in my other hand? NO! After 45+ minutes,my waitress and pizza were nowhere to be found, so I left money on the table for my pop (I sure hope the waitress didn't take it as a tip) and left. I will be in to discuss this with the owner next week. The waitress didn't seem to give a sh*t about my food or my satisfaction. She either needs a "tune up" in regards to helping her customers, or she needs a swift boot out the door. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH VILLAGE PIZZA. I read the above reviews and thought I would support my locally owned pizza place. Waitress was nice and took my takeout order for large pizza and their well reviewed fries. 20 minutes was the wait time. 50 minutes later I was asked what my order was. The cashier then "found" it and presented me with my pizza and fries. I asked how long it had been sitting. The fries were cold and had obviously been sitting for some time. We love Village Pizza! We trek there from Apple Valley,mn, because other pizzas don't stack up. We usually order the special- lots of toppings and a ton of cheese. If you are traveling a ways to pick up a pizza, get the pizza half-baked and finish it off at home in your own oven. Delicious when it is hot. read more

this is one of the best pizzas the hubby and i have ever eaten. you dont need extra cheese and the sauce is amazing. spicy not bland, perfection! the dough is also tasty and crisps up nicely in their oven. we normally get delivery and we live about a mile and a half away. the pizza is still piping hot when we get it. not a huge fan of the cheese bread unless you ask for extra extra cheese. overall A+!!! read more
