Randy was awesome! He helped me swap out my u bolts on my long travel set up on my Tacoma. He is very knowledgeable and very nice! I highly recommend him! I will definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you so much Randy!

I've been going to Randy for at least 16 years. He first lifted a Dodge Ram for me, followed by my 2012 Jeep and now he's been helping me work on my 2019 Chevy Trail Boss. He's the go to guy for Suspension, Gears, Lockers and any off road accessory. He has installed on my current Chevy a after market front bumper and winch with lighting and a under the passenger seat ARB air compressor. He doesn't shy away from installing bumpers he's never worked with. He can make it work and custom fit things if needed. Very detailed on the little things like trimming only what's needed in the wheel wells etc. When it comes to prices he is a fair man. Respect his time! I read a review from a guy complaining about not getting a straight price. There's some things that can be quoted like installing gears or replacing your shocks. There's other things like having him install a front bumper he's never assembled before and can't tell you how long it'll take. I can tell you from experience, I trust him, he's fair, he won't cheat you or over charge you. I've left my truck there plenty of times without getting a quote and have always left satisfied with his price once he's done. No need to fear being ripped off here. Know you will get a job well done, thank him and pay the man! If you have a 4x4 or even a 2 wheel drive and need some parts installed or service done, this is your man! He will turn your stock vehicle into a beast. Stop by and check out his rigs and see for yourself.

Guess who's back, back again!! I break it, Randy and Steve fix it. I first met Randy back in 1999 and was impressed with his rigs and off road skills in Azusa Canyon. First became a customer when he lifted my Dodge Ram in 2005 and have been coming ever since. I now own and 2012 JK and I would trust any other person or shop with it. Randy is not only knowledgable and straight forward with you but he is also very personable and genuinely cares about his customers. He saved me money on my Garvin bumpers since he is an authorized dealer as well. He's replaced my front driveshaft, stabilizer shock, lift, bumpers, gears and now he's about to redo my rear end and rear driveshaft. There's nothing he can't fix in house. Excellent excellent craftsman who knows his trade well. Most of the stuff I've damaged he's warned me about months or more in advance as potential issues due to all the aftermarket upgrades. He's been right every time unfortunately for me. You have to pay to play however :) If you need a place to monster out your rig, this is the place. He also does stock work as well. Thanks again Randy and Steve.

No more death wobble - thanks Randy!!!

Called to make an appointment. The man on the phone was very rude and had an attitude. Spend your money elsewhere.

I read the many positive reviews for Hye-Tech Auto Repair and decided to visit them. Upon entering, I was greeted by John (owner) with a friendly, "Welcome, how may I help you?" I explained that my Ford Explorer needed a new water pump and a few other items that other auto shops had advised me would require repair or replacement. While John looked up a few items on the computer to provide me with a quote, he introduced me to his son, Harry, who happened to be in the office. Thirty seconds later, John provided a quote that was $3,500-$4,000 less than the other shops. I could not believe it. John explained that he makes his living and succeeds in his business through repeat customers, and he does not believe in gouging customers for every last penny. He also shared that when he retires, his son Harry will take over the business, and he wants to leave Harry with a solid foundation of loyal repeat customers. It was then that I knew I could trust John and his son Harry. John went on to explain that replacing the water pump on a Ford Explorer was a 10-12 hour job, as it was an internal pump requiring numerous engine parts to be removed to reach it. This was the same thing all the other shops advised me. John suggested that I leave my vehicle, and he would perform a full inspection of the engine and contact me before doing anything to it. I agreed and left my vehicle. The following day, I was contacted by John, who advised me that the water pump did indeed need to be replaced, as it was the source of the constant leaks of the water coolant. I left my vehicle in John's shop for three days. During this time, John or his son, Harry, contacted me numerous times to keep me updated on the progress of my vehicle and also to point out that mechanics had discovered two or three very inexpensive items (under $50.00) which they recommended replacing, which I agreed to have done. All in all, I was and am extremely impressed and satisfied with everything about this shop. I spent much less money to have five different issues repaired on my vehicle at Hye-Tech than what I was quoted to replace my water pump alone by every single shop I visited prior to coming to Hye-Tech. John and Harry are very friendly, honest, and trustworthy. They are also very knowledgeable and experienced, and they offer GREAT customer service and communication. This is my new go-to shop for any issues involving our family vehicles. Thank you, Hye-Tech Auto Repair, for a very positive experience.

I had ruled out the upstream O2 sensor, catalytic converter (both new), MAP sensor, and fuel injectors. I explained all of this to Matt before bringing the car in. He assured me they could perform deeper diagnostics with their equipment. After dropping off the car, Matt called and told me they had "confirmed" exactly what I had already told them, and that the next step would be pulling spark plugs--for an additional fee. At that point, I decided to go elsewhere. What I don't understand is why I was still charged the full $85 diagnostic fee, plus a $4 hazardous materials fee and $3 shop supply fee. Plugging a car into a diagnostic scanner does not generate any hazardous waste--no fluids are drained, no chemicals are used, and no parts are replaced. There's nothing about a basic scan that would justify a hazardous materials charge. That kind of fee typically applies when disposing of things like oil, coolant, or other regulated waste, none of which occurred here. In the end, I paid $92, wasted time and gas, and learned nothing new. The most concerning part was Matt admitting he didn't even know spark plugs would need to be checked as part of further diagnosis.

They replaced my intake manifold gasket, BUT a P0200 engine code appeared afterward. I went back the next day and explained the issue. They told me they had left an injector unplugged and instructed me to clear the code, saying it would reset. The code was P0200, so I followed their instructions and cleared it. The code went away. The next day, I drove the car and it suddenly started shaking while sitting at red lights -- something it had never done in the five years I've owned this car. I checked the engine codes again, and P0200 had returned. I went back again and explained what I had experienced. They then told me that, in order to address the P0200 issue, they would first have to start by checking for vacuum leaks. This is where I became frustrated. P0200 is an injector circuit malfunction code, so I didn't understand why I was being told that I needed to start with vacuum leaks in order to address that specific code. I had already paid $500 for the initial service, and now I was dealing with a new engine code and a new shaking issue that the car had never had in the five years I've owned it. After declining any further service, I picked up my car from the shop. I then noticed a scratch along with a missing piece of rubber trim on my front bumper. I had not noticed either issue before bringing my car to the shop. The shop claimed they did not hit anything with the car, but they are also ordering me a replacement rubber piece. Overall, this was an extremely frustrating experience. As a first-time customer, I came in expecting to have my original issue addressed, paid $500 for the service, and left with a new engine code, a new shaking issue, and damage/missing trim that I had not noticed before bringing the car in. Based on my experience, I won't be returning. I would recommend that anyone considering this shop be aware of what happened to me and carefully inspect their vehicle before leaving the shop.
