Interior is fun, clean, well done. Service was prompt and friendly. We got the 2 meat combo with ribs and sausage. The meats were good, though nothing to really write home about. Nice smoked flavor with the ribs, which were done dry. The meat did not fall off the bone though, the way I typically like my ribs. Added BBQ sauce, which was on the table. Sausage is kielbasa style. No complaints but also not spectacular. The best part might have been the bun, which tasted like it was fried in butter. Yum! We also got the following sides: Mac n cheese, cole slaw, potato salad, baked beans. They tasted fine, but like they were bought from a store. But it's a fun place and great place to take kids. All my yelp research led me to this hidden gem. It is in the middle of nowhere a few miles out of town off of highway patrol ( such a fun name for a roadway) After a long volleyball tournament we had to have a good meal to end our evening in Rolla. We had a such a great time we raved to the check in clerk at the Marriott hotel in town. Sis got ribs and I got pulled pork with a side of sewer potato fries and a side of fries green beans. They were spectacular. The motto at the restaurant is that "it's not fast food, It's food that wasn't fast enough." it looks like lots of the people there were regulars, and they chatted with the owners and waitresses, catching up on news and events. They also had a side room where large parties can meet and kids could have fun. We watched one huge family get together last night and all the kids had a blast eating their barbecue. Stopped at Randy's Roadkill BBQ on our way home from a long weekend. It's a little off the beaten path (about ten minutes off of HWY 44), but worth the drive. Cute cabin vibe restaurant with a beautiful little lake in the back. Service was great and all staff were friendly. We had a cheeseburger and ribs with onion rings, Mac n cheese and fries for sides. It was all delicious. Hubby really liked the housemade bbq sauce. My only wish was that they had white sweet onion instead of red for my burger! We got two chocolate chip cookies to go and hubby gave a two thumbs up on those! You'll think that you're going the wrong way off of 44, but after a few hills and curves you'll find Randy's. The outside is very unassuming but once you walk in it is beautiful. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Had the brisket, sausage and chicken. All were very good. The Mac and cheese and coleslaw was stellar. Even when I bumped the table and knocked over a cup the waitress ask if my food was still ok and wanted to make soda didn't get on it otherwise they would replace it. I would give ZERO stars if I could. Decided to go for dinner while passing through from Oklahoma. Stood forever waiting to be seated as 2 waitresses walked around like chickens with their heads chopped off. Never even acknowledged us being there. There was a man standing in the giant line to pay that told us to go ahead and sit down at an empty table. Said he knew the owner and had been serving himself beer all night. Brought my husband a beer but said he couldn't get me a water. We sat there as the only 2 waitresses worked at the line needing to pay. After that they acknowledged the next group that came in but never brought us menus, looked at us, or said a word. For our first time ever going there, will be the last. Bad service is the worst. It's just a short nice drive to the restaurant off the interstate. It is a BBQ place & it did serve up some good BBQ. My husband is picky about his sliced brisket and most BBQ restaurants do not measure up, but Randy's did! I had read in some of the past reviews that it was dry, but his brisket was sliced thick & moist. I had the pulled pork hamburger. It was great with piled high tasty pork & Randy's BBQ sauce was the best. The sides fries & onion rings were okay but nothing special. Service was okay. Don't let the gruff exterior or the fact that it's out in the middle of nowhere fool you, the food is good and the inside is nice...as long as you like the cold, dead stares of mounted animals. We ordered the homemade potato chips to start off, and they came out hot, as in freshly fried. They were good, but could have used more of the bbq seasoning. They had two sauces on the table. One, we found out was KC Masterpiece, and the other was Randy's homemade sauce. It was sweet, like it had a fruit juice or purée in it, but if you ask about what's in the sauce or offer a guess, you will get stonewalled, which I completely respect. They also have a spicy sauce which tasted like it had Tobasco in it, but again the nice lady denied it, but I'm not sure I believed her. My wife had the pulled pork plate and I had the bbq brisket sandwich, with beans. Both meats were good, but being from Memphis...well, you know. The beans were very good, and also apparently a Randy's specialty. If you give this place a try, bring cash. The sign on the door stated they add a 4% charge on all credit card payments. Wanted to find some great St Louis BBQ but unfortunately it wasn't here. All 3 items we got were over cooked and dry. Ribs were the best of the lot but still left a lot to be desired. Brisket was tough and couldn't see any smoke ring. Wings had good flavor but because they were flash fried the meat got dried out. On our way back from a great fishing trip, we found this Randy's Roadkill BBQ & Grill only because of our fellow Yelper's excellent reviews! It's definitely off the beat'n path, and definitely worth the excursion (its about 7 min off the highway). The first thing you notice when you walk in is the AMAZING décor; everything hunting/fishing with exceptional game and fish mounts and hilarious "signs" with great sayings! The cabin structure just screams you are about to have a great experience. We were one of the first in the door when they opened for lunch, so no issues getting seated and our service from the moment we walked in was welcoming and attentive. We shared the Roadkill Appetizer which was homemade chips topped with beans, cheese and pulled pork; pretty good! I had the "day's special" which was 1lb of sliced bbq pork piled impossibly high between two thick slices of jalapeno bread and served with a side of choice (had the French fries). The pork was a little underwhelming in terms of smoke flavor, but when combined with their house-made bbq sauces it was really good! Seriously though, I had left overs that spanned at least 2 more meals! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling through the area. What a fun spot! read more

It will depend on what you get. The brisket I had was the flat and it was dry....flavor was good but the dryness of it required sauce which shouldn't be required. They do have a good in house sauce, though. The ribs are very good but I got the small bones so didn't get much. My friend got the larger bones which meant a lot more in terms of quantity. When serving the small bones they should give more because there's not much on that end of the ribs compared to the larger section. Sides were great. Recommend eating here for sure but ask for the point of the brisket and the larger part of the ribs. read more

Wow! What a unique and great place to eat! I met the owner, Randy, and he told me that he built the restaurant from the ground up so that he could have it the way he wanted it. The building is chock full of witty signs and significant memorabilia. But most important is their offering of barbecue selections. The food is outstanding, and make sure to try Randy's homemade barbecue sauce. ( I understand that you can buy some there to take home.) l love to support local businesses and this is a restaurant that I highly recommend. If you are close by, try this out!! read more

I've driven past Randy's a couple times and I was excited to finally try it. I'm from KC, so I might be a little biased when it comes to BBQ but this was exceptionally poor. When we walked in it was pretty empty but we waited about 5 minutes to be acknowledged. When we got seated we waited another 5 minutes to order drinks and get menus. The brisket dip and chips were very good but we were disappointed in the food. I ordered the brisket burger and my partner ordered the brisket. The brisket portions were small and it was dry and cold. Neither of us finished our food. I got a to go container but I don't think I'll eat the rest. We were quiet with our remarks but the couple next to us must've noticed our disappointment and they left before they even got their food. We split the bill and paid $25 each. There is a 4% up charge for paying by card. Very expensive for poor food and service. We will not be going back. read more

Normally I would rate Randy's as a 5+ if I could, all the positive ratings are spot on! We visit Randy's Road kill a couple times a year while visiting our student. It's one of our favorites! The interior is super fun and rustic and the patio is a great place to eat. I disagree with the last post about COVID protection though. The food is a standout especially in a smaller town like Rolla, Randy does an AMAZING job with the BBQ! Amazing! Randy, I walked past you multiple times in the bar, if you love your following, take the initiative to protect them. Not one employee was wearing a face covering. Servers or cook staff. Found Randy's on YELP and decided to give it a try. Pulled off the highway for lunch on our way home last Sunday. Called ahead to confirm they were open, and found they would be there until 7pm. WOW, WOW, WOW. While their location is only about 5 miles from the highway, the area was beautiful and remote. (No Service was available on either of our iPhones...) Only one table was occupied when we arrived. The interior was very cozy. Wood floors, lots of windows to oversee beautiful landscape and local cows wandering about. We were greeted warmly by a young woman and offered menus and drinks. (did not see any alcohol on the menus.... we were driving so no big deal though) I ordered the 2 meat BBQ plate - choosing the smothered chicken and smoked brisket. Plate was offered with my choice of two sides; I opted for the potato salad (made with thousand island dressing) and the green beans. My hubby ordered Sausage plate also offered 2 sides which he chose; baked beans and french fries. AMAZING. My chicken while 'smothered' was not drenched in a spicy BBQ sauce. Meat was chunky and plentiful. Potato salad was good, but I realized I prefer the traditional mayo based style. The green beans were delicious and HOT (very important to me that the meal is served hot) The brisket was OUTSTANDING. No knife required and we had 4 BBQ sauce options available on the table. I used the KC style although very minimally as the meat was smoked to perfection and really did not require any additional sauce. Hubby loved his sausage and could not say enough about the beans. Obviously home made and really very very good. Fries were fries, good but nothing spectacular. The restaurant was warm, cozy and clean. The server was very pleasant, and attentive but not too much so. Anyone traveling on Highway 44, near Rolla MO must make the 5 mile trek off the highway to enjoy this place. Based on the name alone I had to try this place. It really is off the beaten path. It's in a bit of a nondescript building backdropped by a working farm, and a beautiful pond. Our view included quite a few animals including, ducks, chickens, cows, and donkeys. (I hope none of them were on tomorrow's menu). The place had that amazing smoky scent that can only be found in legit bbq places, or house fires. The food did not disappoint. Although the meat was a little dry for my taste, (everything is served dry rubbed, and unsaved) the sauces offered were awesome, including the house chipotle, and spicy options. They offer a full bar, and the owner took time to stop by the table and share some of the history of the place. I am not a foodie, but I love food. This place has good food, and is well worth the drive. I can't wait till my next trip to Rolla for more. read more

My husband and I stopped in to Randy's recently and had an amazing lunch. I ordered the two meat combo platter. I had the ribs and the smothered chicken with a side of coleslaw and Mac & cheese. He ordered the brisket and sausage for his two meat combo and had the beans and green beans as his two sides. We shared everything but I became very protective of my ribs after I let him try one. They were very good. Honestly, everything was good. We had dinner here tonight. The waitress was so attentive and friendly. All of us enjoyed our meals. Try the fried sweet corn appetizer they were so good. I had the chopped steak. I think it was the best chopped steak with onions mushrooms and gravy that I've ever had. The meat was tender and moist. The rolls were amazing, warm and light. I had a taste of the grilled pork chops with apples. I probably will get that next time. It was really good. Sorry no room for desserts we were way to full. read more
